• Candy Apple Muffins
Recipe:
1 1/2 cup sugar
1 cup water
1 cup light corn syrup
(if you can't find corn syrup (aka karo syrup or glucose syrup) there are candy apple recipes out there that don't use it, just google a bit)
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon (optional)
1/2 tsp red food colour
6 large apples
6 wooden popsicle sticks
In medium pot over high heat bring sugar, corn syrup and water to a boil, stirring frequently. Once the mixture comes to a boil, stop stirring.
Boil until mixture registers 285F (soft crack stage) about 15-20 minutes.
If you don't have a candy thermometer see this link for description of soft crack stage.
Here is an illustrated guide to the candy making stages and what they look like:
candy.about.com/od/candybasics...
While you are waiting for candy to be ready:
Line a baking dish with greased aluminum foil or silicone mat. Wash and dry apples and remove stems. Insert sticks into stem end about half way into the apple.
When candy reaches desired temperature, remove from heat and with wooden spoon, stir in the food colour and cinnamon.
Dip apples into candy mixture to coat evenly allowing excess to drip back into pot. Transfer to prepared baking dish and allow to harden completely.
Store uncovered in refrigerator for up to 2 days.
Clean up:
Remove as much melted sugar as possible into a container that you can throw out (like old milk carton) and then fill pot with water and bring to a boil over high heat until all sugar is dissolved. You can also put the pot into a sink of hot soapy water and let it sit for a couple of hours.
You can add more flavouring to the apple coating.
You can use flavoring extracts that are available in the baking supplies section of your local supermarket, such as vanilla, almond, anise, maple, and lemon. Approximately 1/2 teaspoon of this kind of flavoring should be enough for a batch.
There are also highly-concentrated flavorings specifically for candy making, available online or in specialty stores. The flavor choices are almost endless. These usually come in tiny 1-dram (1 teaspoon) bottles, and 1/8 teaspoon should be sufficient to flavor a batch.
Add the flavouring just after removing the candy from the stove and before you pour it onto the baking sheet. Be CAREFUL there might be some splattering as the flavouring comes in contact with the hot sugar mixture. Хобби

Erika Hernandez .
No me too
Erika Hernandez
Everyone does til this day
do u still find it funny/catchy?
Best apples are green apples. Granny smith apples. They dont make bubbles. Its a nice green, little bit sour apple. It matches really nice with the sweetness. Oh and dont forget to wash the apples in HOT WATER. Because the apples have a wax layer for shine.
i haven't watched u in like YEARS but managed to sing the intro hahhahah
Thanks for stopping by!
@@yoyomax12 it's all good!!!

I LOVE YOU SO MUCH. EVERYONE I LOVE THIS WOMAN SO MUCH. SHE IS A STONERS GODSEND
This is the best demonstration of Candy Apple Making I have ever seen. I love how she went "old school" and uses the popsicles sticks versus those candy sticks everyone else uses! Thank you. :)

Jolene is one of the VERY FIRST people I ever saw on RUclips...and I'm pretty sure she was the first person I subscribed to as well! And now I feel very fortunate to live in her neck of the woods! I'm still a huge fan, and now a friend too. She's very special and a real supporter of RUclipsrs. So happy to hear you dig her stuff too! LOVE LOVE LOVE your recipes. I wish you were on 5 days a week. No pressure:-)
I hope to be able to meet her someday, finding her really did change my life :) 5 days a week?....hmmm will think about that one ;)
yoyomax12 - the diet free zone Then we have to find a way to make that meeting happen!

It’s been so great to visit this channel again! I started watching back in I believe 2010 when I got out of high school and used to recreate a lot of your decorated cupcakes! My favorites has always been the flower made from cut up marshmallows. I still use some of the skills I learned from you in my own kitchen now with my children!
Same 😊
Ma'am, you are an absolute treasure. This is the best recipe!
For kids you can use baby apples!
The into , I just died 😂😂😂😂
BEST RECIPE FOR CANDY APPLES!! I tried it and everyone loved it! Making it again for Thanksgiving. Really easy and quick. Cinnamon adds a great touch of flavor. Thanks yoyo!
Delicious!!!! just watching you make these, makes my mouth water... takes me back to my childhood...
Arigatou gozaimasu for the tips, Eri chan love it
I. Used 1/2 cup organic aguave ,4 tablespoon sugar, 3teaspoons of corn starch and it worked great and was so good the kids loved it
I read that agave is just as processed as corn syrup. I am so disappointed cause I thought I found a natural sweetener. Ugh, too good to be true I guess :/
i know my nutritionist
told me that too
:( I have just been using pure cane sugar and honey. I want to make this recipe though. I guess that agave may be the lesser evil.
Omg. I love this video . Im a fan of jolene sugar baker too. Ty ty ty
Wish I had the time to do every single recipe.
omg, i watched these a whole load when i was little and now i found it again XD
The intro was like a tv show😂❤️
I like that you actually showed what happened with the half apples. Thank you!
Realy Great thanks! we used this recipe for haloween so now even people in norway are eating candy apples!
For the half apple, how about covering only the part with the skin? It's be even better if you take off the pips so you can eat the whole product.
Thats what I thought!
The inside would go brown though :/
the half apples was a good idea
true
blue rose gunq
especially for people who can't eat a whole apple or children.
I love your recipe, This is the easy way. I love it.❤
1st time I watch this is from 2013 and now I watch it again on 2020 and I still love it
I had something very similar to this in the Dominican Republic but instead of apples it was coconut balls about the size of a golf ball on two toothpicks. They were very good! Vendors sell them in city parks for 10 pasos, about 20 cents.
+seattwa Now that sounds delicious!!
+TheCurlyGemini I'm might have to give these a shot! I have the sweetened cocont already, so might as well.
Well, they turned out beautiful but I can't figure out how to show them off so you'll just have to take my word on it, lol. I made GREEN ones for the Irish in me!
Ah, candy apples. Never actually tried them, but they look like shiny, beautiful glistening globes of delight. I really do have to make some this Halloween.
So I have always used the Concord Candy Apply Mix to make these every year, however, they no longer are available. Thank you for this recipe! I'll give it a try and comment again
afterwards. This is a family tradition!
when you said for those of you who stuck around..i felt sooo special :')
Just wondering do you ever get hate comments?
I have always wanted to make this but didn't work but when saw you're video I was so happy and it worked so I'm so happy now!!! Thanks for making this video it made me sooooo happy!!

I love candy apples they taste so goood
My mom's aunt and uncle owned a carnival from the 1950s-1990s. They made their taffy apples from scratch, and every Hallowe'en, my mom would use that recipe to make a batch for the local trick-or-treaters. The recipe contained 4 lbs. of sugar, and made 50 taffy apples.
This is so cute & all of your video are so creative and adorable :)
