I am a going to make my first batch of candy apples EVER ... and I’m 70 Years old ..!!! I Love candy apples and can never find them they always have caramel apples but no candy apples.. I’m going to try YOUR recipe ... wish me luck.. haha ..OH .. and I am Making mine BLACK for Halloween ... and I got gala apples ... wish I had bought Granny Smith... but these will have to do ... I wonder if I have to wash them in the boiling water as well...?? thanks ... I will send you a picture of mine .. yours are beautiful and I’m sure delicious ..!!!
I want to thank you so much for this tutorial. I had never made candy apples before and I tried your recipe. They came out so shiny with no bubbles. And they tasted so good! I made them in white and attached edible pictures. I'm definitely making more for my families Halloween party coming up. Thanks again and stay blessed.
@@lesliegarcia7464 If you stick the edible image to the apple right after they dry, it should just stick on by itself. If it doesn't you can use a tiny bit of piping gel on the back of the image and then stick it to the apple. I've done it both ways and its worked for me.
Her apples always look so flawless. So professional, never tacky. I want to try so bad for my niece's "tea party" I think I'll make my family the Guinea pig first. ☺️
Thank u so much Alexus. U made these with lots of important details and tips and I can’t wait to show my mom this.... since we were real little, my mother always had candy apples on Halloween for us but she NEVER knew how to get her apples to be so smooth and how to get rid of those pesky bubbles..Now I see how important the first few steps are to get perfect silky smooth apples. I’m sure she will from now on have perfect apples thanks to you dear. Much happiness and love to you
Left over candy mix can by placed on wax or parchment paper as drops or suckers (use Popsicle sticks for the handle or even coffee stir sticks)--- can then decorate apples & suckers like Tim Burton's Nightmare character skulls.---- black stitched mouth, line nostrils and upside down tear-drop eyes.
Wonderful tutorial this is my first time trying candy apples for my daughters bday ... What is the recipe for 20 apples how do you measure for a certain quantity and does the mixture stay warm while dipping? Thx
Can I use this recipe for my candy grapes? My mixture always hardens you after I’ve only dipped like 20 grapes. I have to work quickly and that can be messy
I love ur method n measurement. I only get 3 or 4 apples fully coated with ratio 3:1:.5.. I tried to double it and I get 6-8 apples. I do a great job but the candy hardens so fast it doesn’t allow me to finish so I think the difference is the pot u use. What kind is it and where did u purchase? Other videos everyone uses the pot u use with no problem I use a reg pot I’m thinkn that pot handles that candy great. I’m also shocked at the end u added white then stirred if I do that it’s like taking away time from me dippin then it gets hard n I only dipped 2-3. I say change my pot
Hey! So I’m trying to do this recipe so I can do the gold apples. I bought Wilton Sky Blue Icing Color because I couldn’t find white. Should I take the same steps with the sky blue as the white? Also, do I have to add a flavoring for the apples to taste good? I couldn’t find pineapple. I only saw strawberry, peppermint, and cinnamon....but I didn’t want to risk them not tasting good. Have you tried either of those flavors? Any suggestions? Thanks in advance. 🙏🏽
Adam Peace Good Morning. You need the white base so the candy on the apples is not transparent. You can find it at your local cake store, joanns fabric, or michaels. The flavoring isn’t mandatory but it does take the flavor to another level
I'm going to try this...if it works I will be making for my son's high school graduation....thank you for video. Question: Is there a way to turn these up a notch "420"?
All Things Alexus right but once I add the white after the candy has reached 300 the white starts turning brown and looking burnt. What temperature should I had the white after the candy is done?
Thank you for the tutorial. Unfortunately, this recipe didn’t make enough to fully cover 8 apples. 😩 And it got thick on me just as I was doing the last apple. I did follow your recipe to a key so… idk I am hoping to try it again and it will work better
Hi l am new how far in advance can l dip before it starts to break down, like l am doing baby shower say on Saturday, l clean my apples let set for 2 days Thursday l dip so Saturday is shower its not going break down dy Saturday for shower
Where can I buy the pineapple flavor and also does it taste like pineapple I bought a strawberry ounce long time and it taste bad I did not taste like strawberry 😕..and I still get bubbles i think because my apples had lil holes or I don't know every time I do if I'm lucky I get like 8 at of 20 bubble free 🤦🏻♀️..
I notice you dont scrap the apples bottoms on the side of the pot and yet they still come out beautiful without that big puddle at the bottom, and my mixture always start to get thick after dipping like 6 and yet l make way more mixture then you
Hello, I followed the directions but my thermometer failed in my pot and kind of ruined it and my mixture ended up tacky with a lot bubbles . I thought it was ready but I guess I was wrong . What should I do to prevent this ? TIA
Bria Nichole hey! For the bubbles make sure you apples are free of wax. I use the candy thermometer that clips to the side of the pot. Make sure it’s sturdy and tight
All Things Alexus Thank you so much for replying back . It still had some white wax on it . I wipe it off a thousand times and it wouldn’t come off . I bought me clip and going to try again . Thank you for your help 💕
Where can I get that whilton icing color?😕 I wanted to do some easter 🥚 candy apples..I bought the AmeriColor they recommended me that brand but the colors are always clear..😩 I put like 5 to 8 drops and still they are clear even though I add white and then the color..
Hello I would like to request if u can do a video of a double batch i had an order for 30 apples and tried to double this recipe and it didn’t work thy all came out sticky and would stick to my baggies even after I left them out to dry over night, I had to cancel the order and offered to pay for the desert table out of pocket so not only did I loose money I looked bad ,didn’t make my profit and had to spend my money to compensate . I used 6 cups sugar 2 cups water and 1 cup syrup white color and proper measuring cups dry and wet idk how it went wrong. Can you please help so I don’t make the mistake again ??

We’re they crunchy and hard to bite into?
@@45qdkdontsteal92 I actually cut mine into smaller pieces . Didn't seem hard to cut with a knife or bite once it was in my mouth.
How did you get your edible pictures and put them on?

WOW Looks Awesome 👍
You did an Awesome job. I'm going to do white this weekend. I can't wait to see how they turn out. Thank for this video‼️💃🏾💯🎯🍏🍏❤
Hey so pretty...so u took the mixture off the burner before u started dipping....right?
Lovely will try these, what can I substitute for pineapple, allergy
Thank you 😊 ❤️❤️
I imagine you can use any other flavoring you’d like, as long as it is clear so it doesn’t interfere with the color

😊 I will try it. Can you also put in the bottom of peanuts
Good morning All things Alexis how do I prevent my apples from being sticky?
2 tablespoons or teaspoons?
Thank you so much for this video.. I doubled the recipe and was able to make some pretty white apples ❤.
I love your videos you’re work is amazing 😍
Wonderful tutorial this is my first time trying candy apples for my daughters bday ... What is the recipe for 20 apples how do you measure for a certain quantity and does the mixture stay warm while dipping? Thx
Just double the recipe that's what I'm going to do
what measurements should i use if i only wanna make like two or three apples just for display for pictures
Cut all ingredients in 1/2
Can I use this recipe for my candy grapes? My mixture always hardens you after I’ve only dipped like 20 grapes. I have to work quickly and that can be messy
Just reheat the candy back to 280
@all things alexus can you use that pineapple flavoring and the white stuff to make hardcandies?
Yes
@@allthingsalexus awesome ;)
Did you cook your mixture on high the whole time or did you turn the stove down
Yesss this is the best tutorial
Alexus, what wooden sticks do you use and where do you get them from? I am inspired to try some candy apples for Halloween.....lol.....thanks girl!!
Is the candy hard on the apples after it cools? Or is it more chewy? Can you bite into it with ease?
These apples are perfect 🤍🤍🤍🤍
Thank you!!
After I coat all 9 apples and there is candy mixture left, can I add a blue color to mixture and coat more apples?
Yes you can doll
Beautiful work! Where did you get your thermometer?
Thank you! Publix

Awesome, thank you. Can I find the flavoring at those stores too?
can we add nuts to these once they are dipped? Asking for a friend.. :)
Are they mushy now? I want crispy apples
No they don’t get mushy. It’s the natural color of the skin without wax!
Did you let it dry sit? Or you chilled the apples for 24-48 hours?
Beautiful 😍 Have you ever done chocolate covered apples?
Cinnamon will always be my #1 but these are pretty cool!!!!
Do you let the thermometer rest on the bottom of the pot? I heard before that it gives you a false reading but has it given you any problems?
Beautiful job!❤
O another question you say l can dabble my recipe so it's 3-1-half so how many apples l can dip dabble recipe thank you
Yes
Es solo agua caliente donde coloca las manzana o tiene algún liquido mas?
Do you grease the cookie sheet to keep the candy from sticking?
No
Amazing
Does it have to be icing color?? Or can I use gel food coloring?
You can use gel food coloring for the actually color but the white base always says icing
I'm going to try this...if it works I will be making for my son's high school graduation....thank you for video.
Question: Is there a way to turn these up a notch "420"?
Cannasugar
I can't wait to try this for my babies
Excellent instructions. Thanks for sharing
After cleaning them do u set them in the refrigerator or on a counter?
She said she puts them on her dining room table

I went by your step by step instructions, and I mastered it‼️🙌🏽🤗🤍🤍🤍
Omg omg can you make a video on Caramel Apples, I'd love to make some!!!
Hello, for the white color is the icing color or the candy color?
Both are the same. The bottle will say icing color
How long does it take for them. To dry
Ok but with classic red sprinkles around the top 👌🏼
Are you able to add a glitter to it? If so what brand would you recommend?
Do you need to wait for the candy temp to get low before adding the white? Mines keep turning brown.
Yes. You have to add the white once the candy is done
All Things Alexus right but once I add the white after the candy has reached 300 the white starts turning brown and looking burnt. What temperature should I had the white after the candy is done?
Sherquondra Fitzgerald if it’s turning brown you may want to stop your mixture at 280 degrees
What do we have to do to get the recipe?
Try letting the candy cool down a lil 1st thats what I'm going to try next cause mine brown to
Can these be mad with a softer coating
Yes but wouldn’t recommend . Candy will be stuck in your teeth
@@allthingsalexus is there a recipe for the softer coating
What measurements would you use for 6 Apples
Good morning love. You would ya half of the measurements listed in the description box
Hey hun, awesome tutorial. Do you have a recipe for just 4 large apples? Thank you so much
She said that this recipe is enough to make 12 candy apples, so divide this recipe by 3. Hope this helps ♥️

Yes

If using organic apples do you still need to follow this de-waxing process?
I love your toffee apple 🍎❤
How do you keep your apples from getting sticky
They only stick when you put them in the fridge before wrapping . I wrap them right away. Especially if your located in a humid state
What bags do you use to put the apples in? Where do you purchase them from?
Clear treat party bags from michaels joanns or Walmart
@@allthingsalexus thanks. Is there a certain size?
What would happen if the temperature goes a bit higher, say 315°?

deonna wepy the flavorings are optional. Yes it taste just like pineapple
Hey I’m making candy apples what will happen if I clean them then make the candy apples the same day
Good morning. The condensation from the cleaning process will cause pinholes one your candy
All Things Alexus if I’m making colored apples do I put the flavor in before I boil or after
Thank you so much! They are beautiful!!!@
Why the pineapple flavor? Is it just for taste?
There are many different flavors that’s just what I had on hand
How long will candy apples last at room temperature?
Sharon Cook at room temp a few days. Refrigerated over a week
Do Let it cool off before putting in the color
No
Are the apples still crisp? This will be my first time making them. I seen that the apples did turn a lil brown.

After I cleaned my apples they start turning brown before I can dip them in the candy is that okay
Yes. Totally normal. They should still be firm to the touch . We technically cooked them while cleaning that’s what causes the change in color
