    Does the candy crunch? I used to make a lot of candy and candy apples for my kids (30+ years ago)! I want to try this recipe but if it is like Carmel or soft candy the apples tend to get old faster. So making them ahead of time would be hard to keep fresh. Yes, thank you for letting everyone know about the apple's juice melting the candy at the top! Dry the Apple tops and tap the stick in so juice doesn't escape; don't twist this gives extra space between apple's skin and the stick so juice oozes out and escapes! Also make sure there are no bruises, cuts or dents in the apples! This will insure the apple stay fresh for longer periods. I make enough candy apples for seconds and try to have enough of them ready for days. I will try this awesome recipe! All ways good to find a reduced sugar recipe (no corn syrup)!

    I love how they don’t have a cup of candy at the base. Does this make the candy shell thinner? I ask bc I really don’t like when you need a knive to eat a candy apple. I’d rather a thinner shell. If you reply thanks so much. :)

    • @TinaSweetsFromHeaven
      @TinaSweetsFromHeaven  4 года назад +22

      Hello, No but if you like it thinner make sure you only dip once. You can also make you candy softer, if you look on your candy thermometer you will see soft crack. You only cook your mix until it reaches 280f that will give you a softer candy.

      Hello, the texture is the same without corn syrup. I like to put my sticks in a day before so they can dry around the top.
