    Hey was the pot off while you were getting everything mixed and then type turned the stove on to get it heat to 350 degrees? Also I google americo food coloring an it looked more like past is that what you used?

      Yes the stove was off while getting mixed and yes as long as it’s the Gel color you can use it no matter the brand. I just prefer Americolor brand

    Thanks for the tutorial. I have tried a the same cleaning method but my apples still started breaking down in just a few hours. I've even used Hi Sweet but still getting the same results. Maybe its my climate, not sure. How long before your apples start breaking down when using this cleaning method?

    This was good except I have so many questions that you didn’t cover I. This tutorial........ you don’t show how long you suppose to prep and stir, also when do you know they are ready to be dipped in the candy because you never said that also is the stove on while you are putting in the sugar etc????? What should it be on low medium high?

      Make sure your house is cool and the apples have been completely dried and cooled down before dipping it in the candy

      Each apple goes in the cleaning solution for Atleast 10-15 seconds

      So yeah that part threw me off too because that makes the tutorial inaccurate as a same day tutorial unless the apples that were in the refrigerator that you used were also made that day. 🙄

    Can you clean/dip them without the stick inserted? I guess my concern is the baking soda and cigar seeping into the apple.

    some videos say use lemon juice and baking soda so I will use lemon juice and baking soda and put my apples in boiling water for 10 minutes to make sure they get all the wax off

    About to try my 1st ever apple dip....
    Do you not get the sap that comes out after cleaning with this method??? I have some apples that I washed yesterday & waiting to dip. They all changed color but only 4 have the sap & I'm worried I may have to start over. I need them for my son's party tomorrow.

    I did not see you use a cup of baking soda or apple cider vinegar? Are you sure a cup of each as that seems like a lot?

      It's ok there is no set amount of baking soda or vinegar to use when you're washing the apples remember you're not cooking with it

    I dipped my apples the same day after cleaning and they came out perfect I let them sit for 2 hours after dipping then I bagged them woke up the next day and they are stuck to the plastic and candy is breaking what did I do wrong??

    Thank you for sharing this method. I can’t tell you how many times I get a request for the next day for Candy Apples. So clean them in this mixture and let them sit in the refrigerator for 10 mins and then take them out and wipe them again before dipping in your candy mixture (to remove moisture Im sure)?

      Shaniqa Monae no ma’am. They are supposed to be hard. If you’re wanting a recipe with a thinner coating try 3cups of sugar,1 1/2 cups of Karo syrup and 2 cups of water. ❤️❤️ make sure you subscribe because I’ll be posting a thinner version soon❤️We also have another candy apple tutorial as well as a Candy Grapes video🍇

      Candy Apples are hard. Just like a lollipop. Lol if you use a candy thermometer there are temps where you can remove the candy mix sooner. (Soft crack, medium etc) what it says depends on your thermometer. Soft crack is easier to bite in versus Hard crack.
