Seriously, I always wondered why he complained about dinosaur eggs so much, and from this video it's apparently because he doesn't know this. They're really not that hard to find if you just spend some time getting fishing chests. The artifacts that are a pain are some of the skeletal ones, as unlike the dino egg they actually are limited to certain dig areas at low chances like 1%.
DF: "you will have hit this point probably before this point in time anyway" Me: I didn't have the sewer key or the stardrop from the mines till summer of year 2
I’ve found that by fishing in the mountain lake in a specific spot is the easiest way to find a dinosaur egg, I’ve played on three different farms and found it on each of them, after you find it I recommend putting it in the incubator at the coop first cause the mayo made from its eggs sells for around 500-700 😁
Thanks for the tip about mousing over artifacts, I’m embarrassed I never caught on to that. I’d been going by the number of times found on the artifacts page, but it turns out it only counts the ones you dig up, not the ones you get from fishing.
I've just recently started playing Stardew Valley for the first time on the switch, & yet I've already got a dinosaur egg I think only ten hours of gameplay into the save file. I've heard an online tip to save them for incubator so I'm glad that I haven't given it away yet. I believe I got it from a (apparently very lucky) fishing chest.

They actually aren't that bad to find as they can be found in fishing chests. From this video though it seems DF doesn't actually know that though, so that would help explain his frustration.

I played the fishing game 3 times (150g total) and I gambled all my star tokens to the spinner game. i got the stardrop in a matter of minutes I got a stardrop for 150 gold..
no, you can have infinite stardrops, just name your character or a pet this" [434] " with the [ and ]. whenever someone like an npc says your name or your pets name you will recive 1 stardrop. use this to get them as early as day 1
Watching this now with him currently there's definitely been a change but both of them are equally amazing I was just caught off guard at first DF is no matter the personality or way he talks consistently entertaining
Thinking about that time my girlfriend put me as her favorite thing and then almost deleted Stardew Valley because she thought Stardew Valley was stalking her
for the fair, I did my section and then went over to the spinner. I saw this amazing guide that worked for me. Basically, if you lose bet more. The person writing the article suggested going 160 (if failed go to)320 (if failed then go 640). If you lose and go to 320 for your bet, or 640 for your bet, after you win you continuously do repeats of betting on 160.
But comedy aside it's not too hard to win the display and finish first even in year one- forage a lot, farm plenty of each crop (as much as gold/time allows, even small numbers can be enough- repeat and seed dropping crops really help as do found seeds and seasonal wild seeds), fish or if you're not so good at fishing forage the beach (even if you've caught no useful fish the right foraged shellfish even low grade is useful for display variety- but be careful as some shellfish don't count), buy the right cooking from the inn (ready meals with no kitchen / cooking needed lol) or even bin raid it at the inn if you're lucky and make a preserves jar to add a decent points value preserve (Pickle or jelly) to tick the artisan goods box- then you should, even in year one, be able to get enough category variety for max variety points and enough gold star items to balance out a few lower scoring ones, I kept all my gold and silver items in chests to match, in SV it can pay not to sell everything but to keep some items that may be useful later (or be craftable into higher value items later if you are selling), playing smart like this you can win the fair display. Then bet a few hundred each time on green on the wheel, lower the wager if it's been green a lot to ride out the orange spins (green is still the most likely though), then you should fairly quickly have enough for the stardrop and anything else you want with the tokens.
Personally, I do the fishing mini game during the festival. You have all day, no time lost, and no energy lost. You get a couple hundred stars per round, usually

15:07 in addition to the location, season, and weather, most fish only showing up within a specific time of day.
DF: "you will have hit this point probably before this point in time anyway"
Me: I didn't have the sewer key or the stardrop from the mines till summer of year 2
bruh what, i didn’t get the key til year 6
@@sommermiller3261 I didn't get the key until Year3 Summer
I’m in year 3 and I still don’t have the key
I’m in year 2 winter and I’ve gotten almost nowhere because I’ve been obsessing over Sebastian
Woot woot I got to edit this one and do the Thumbnail!!!
It's almost as good as a divorce!
Congrats!
Yea
Nice
Guud job
I told myself, It has to be under 20 minutes
*looks at time*
Well, .....19:55 is under 20...
Yeah, good thing it was 1,195 seconds (19 minutes 55 seconds)...
Still love me some Stardew. Playing on the Switch is fantastic, even after logging 200+ hours on PC.
Just bough it on the switch right now
@@randomcat1962 me too just replaying the game
I'm playing the psvita version, sadly it's only 1.2
I’ve found that by fishing in the mountain lake in a specific spot is the easiest way to find a dinosaur egg, I’ve played on three different farms and found it on each of them, after you find it I recommend putting it in the incubator at the coop first cause the mayo made from its eggs sells for around 500-700 😁
Actually killing the pepper rexes in the skull cavern are better they have a 10% drop chance
His voice sound so different from how it is now, I really miss Stardew Valley content...
I found a stardrop. Its strange, but the taste reminds me of "DangerouslyFunny"
Your favorite thing to eat
Mine reminds me of sacrificing children
I think you guys have to go to the therapist...
@@user-mg3dz8dm3i how it works is that it says what is your favorite thing is
It's reminds me to gyros.
I actually... found the dinosaur egg legitimately through worms... like... first year actually too
Current playthrough i got it day 1 in the first worms i saw
Clockworklemon bs
Demon Hades found mine on year 2 via fishing.
I found my first one in winter of year 1 through fishing!^^
Clockworklemon you can’t unlock the mines on day 1 year 1
Hey DF you can actually get a token from the stardew valley fair strength game by hitting it at the very bottom
Timothy Manuel Sounds like a pity token lol that’s cheeky.
I did it for like, two times in a row and I legit started laughing bc of my bad luck
also if you hit at the top, the strong man was like "I lIkE WhAt I sEe" and gives you a token, I was like "you know I have a wife right?"
One time I got a Stardrop from Shane and he was like "I'm giving you this so you know how much I love you"
Hazel Rodriguez it’s probably because you married him
Anyone who plays the game normally: *works hard to build up relationship with NPC they really like as a measure of progress*
DF: Nah fam I married and divorced y’all a hundred times already
HOW LONG WOULD IT TAKE FOR THE CROWS TO DESTROY THE ENTIRE FIELD
"Well she is gonna stay that way because we are gonna marry Leah"
I laughed too much at this
When i was playing stardew valley for the VERY first time, my luck meter decided to go off the charts, and the first worm i found had a dinosaur egg. Talk about luck!
I found a rainbow stone in a garbage just 3 days after starting a new file
I didn't realize how rare the dinosaur eggs were when I found it lmao
I cant even find one lol
The first time I got one it didn't even occur to me to put it in an incubator. I just donated the thing lik an idiot.
I know right? I find them every year I play in my first year and I don't even care to find them. Poor guy.
They actually aren't that bad to find as they can be found in fishing chests. From this video though it seems DF doesn't actually know that though, so that would help explain his frustration.
I’ve found several on one save file and I’m going into year 4
Am I the only one that freaked out when he proposed and was rejected X_X
He needed to upgrade his house.
@@dethkitty9701 I know I was just pointing out something weird I did *^* :/ *°*
Woops I typed the emoticon wrong :O
One words : karma
DF, about the Dinosaur Egg, I found it while finishing in the mountains. I had the Pirate skill and Treasure hunter bait, I found two on the same month by just fishing. Hope that helps you!
And thank you so much for the continuous supply of funny videos! They are my highlight after going back home
DF:
"Now I have to figure out which artifact I missed"
"The dragon egg eludes me to this day"
"It's going to take forever to get all the artifacts and minerals"
Me with stardew checkup and stardew predictor by MousyPounds and who gave three dragon eggs to Gus for his omelet the other day:
if you get one, it's really easy to get more
you can raise the egg and a dinosaur comes out, the dinosaur gives you eggs everyday
I remember just casually walking and digging the worms out and finding the dinosaur egg, i wanted to sell it but i was really lucky to look it up on wikipedia that it can be placed into an incubator so i did it and a few days later when i was watching one of your videos i was very suprised when u said its one of the rarest things in the game.
"I don't know why anyone wants to marry me right now."
Same, bro. Same.
I’ve caught the Dino egg fishing, and found one in the quarry under worms.

you should be able to upgrade your axe into an iron pickaxe... thats not how it works df
Tiny Baby Man DF said pickaxe lol
True, very true
Tiny Baby Man Re-Read the comment, then think about it hard.
Tiny baby man you probably have a brain too so use it.
If you can upgrade your pick into an iron pickaxe and your axe into an iron pickaxe, can you dual-wield pickaxes? :o
I wish there was a stardrop for finishing the community centre
"But she doesn't wanna marry me"
*Stardew Music Stops*
damn, that golden mask has 0.1% chance of finding it and i just found 2 of them at the same time
"Its strange, the taste reminded you of stardrops"
*Says that after eating a stardrop*
It sets the taste to your favorite thing, as you enter when creating your character.
there's one on pam's trailer, it's probably the hardest one to get since pam's house is nightmare fuel
Sorry to ask this late.. but do you get it when you finally able to clean her house for her? She kept asking me to clean her house but then she said just kidding.
@@romildopedrodossantos822 I figured.
just a tip for complete the museum. if you have a lot of money and don't know what you will do about it buy omni geodes from krobus (in tuesday) and when you get all the mineral turn those geodes into that artifact thingy in the dessert.
Something I found out the other day, while doing some random stuff on my own
Everybody does in fact love Prismatic Shards
EXCEPT Haley
...She hates them
Penny also hates rabbits' feet
I got a dino egg from a treasure chest while fishing in the river above the blacksmith actually. Sunny day in fall I believe if anyone wants specifics. And then I was a noob and dang near sold it. DONT sell it! incubate it and have your own dino lay more!
I just incubated the nighttime wallpaper
...Or, You could Spam Pigs With The Item Number
Did I Say Pig? I Ment Pam
or if you wanna not waste much money just buy chickens :/
You didn't get the joke
i literally did that for 10 minutes straight yesterday
On the switch it's a piece of error item now if you do that number trick
@@bdougherty1838 I Play on switch, if your getting error item its prob not a correct item number
2:30 what happend to the game clock?
He freeze it I guess
mew the mew nope. It glitched out, probably bc of the cheat mods, and whatever weird stuff he did to the Stardew Textures folder...
I just love how casually he insults the people in the game 😂
I played the fishing game 3 times (150g total) and I gambled all my star tokens to the spinner game. i got the stardrop in a matter of minutes
I got a stardrop for 150 gold..
1st thought - what an odd sounding chap.... 1 minute later... "damn i can't stop watching". well played
infinity drops in the thumbnail
Who has time to find and collect them anyways.
Besides only seven?
Who cares about a limit, I need all the energy!
no, you can have infinite stardrops, just name your character or a pet this" [434] " with the [ and ]. whenever someone like an npc says your name or your pets name you will recive 1 stardrop. use this to get them as early as day 1
Gonna try this thanks.
Watching this now with him currently there's definitely been a change but both of them are equally amazing I was just caught off guard at first DF is no matter the personality or way he talks consistently entertaining
For the strength test at the fair, you can get a pity token if you hit it at 0. So either aim for the top or aim for the bottom.
Wow, df really has changed in 2 years, he was so much happier, and less chaotic.
Why am I watching these?
I've never played stardew.
I can't stop watching these.
Kyle Li play stardew
It's so good
I watched him even before I get the game, because I've been meaning to get it. Now that I got it I'm binging on all SV videos including his.
i Like The Way He Says "Sweet Gem Berry", lol But Then Again i'M Sure it Comes Out Sounding Like-That BcuZ *Sweet Gem Berries* Are Pretty Valuable
I didn't expect you to do tutorial videos, and this one has ALL information and it's a very cool well made videos
Dude I just clicked on this video, not realizing that DF made it, and I was just hit with a wave of nostalgia, old DF!
Fun fact: you also get a star token for getting the lowest strength in the strength game
Someone give this man some clout
he sure as hell deserves it....

.
P.S: I don't think I fully understand what clout means.
Thinking about that time my girlfriend put me as her favorite thing and then almost deleted Stardew Valley because she thought Stardew Valley was stalking her
LMAO
for the fair, I did my section and then went over to the spinner.
I remember watching this like 3 years back and getting them all thanks man
“The taste reminds you of dogs” 💀
This guy is the most entertaining 7 year old I have ever seen. I hope his voice never changes
5:09 haley hates prismatic shards
The tip about not knowing if you have donated an item really helped thanks
Visiting old df's vids is so eccentric
He sounds so active and hyped in this video and it AINT FAMILIAR
4:15 50,000 gold, 450 wood and 3 days time is all it's going to take - for the divorce punchline
6:22 fun fact if you get the weakest score you also win a coin
“You should be here by now” *Middle of year 2 and only donated 3 items*
Same, I usually get at least 250-450 stars per round
