- These are the rarest events in Stardew Valley! From the once a year type events to basically never even seen and everything in between, don't miss your opportunity to see some of these events. Even after countless hours of gameplay I rarely see some of these and some I haven't seen yet! If anyone out there knows more about these or if others exist, let me know! Stardew Valley gameplay with my commentary as always! A lot of new content came with the 1.3 multiplayer update, maybe more secrets?

For anyone having got the "Strange Capsule" or "Stone Owl":
They aren't that rare as they used to be when this video came out. Now they can spawn far more often than back then.

The Rare capsule actually happened to me on my multiplayer farm. At first, we thought we were gonna have to fight it once it got out, but now we just see a shadow by the bus stop from time to time. Scares the shiz outta me everytime.

One time, I walked out of Sebastian’s room and Robin said, “ Lew.. Oh.” I did not get a photo, but she was really bugged out on that file. I often found her wandering my farm at night.
That could imply that either Lewis is hooking up with Sebastian, or Robin likes that old man magic.

For everyone commenting now: the chances of the capsule and stone owl got upped greatly for the 1.5 update. It’s why so many people are suddenly getting it

1.5 Update has seriously increased the rates of events. On my current playthrough I got stone owl on year 1 and a second on year 3 I think. Got capsule on the same file.

I remember having a U.F.O fly across my shipping screen on my first spring, and after that there was a crop fairy cutscene. I had only had the game for about 3 days (Irl days) and just thought it was connected and everyone experienced it.

I recently played a game with the forest farm playthrough and kept the two areas with the hardwood that respawns fairly untouched and inhabited by my tapped trees and the stone owl appeared there! I was like wtf is that and planted fruit trees around it as an offering lol. I can't say I know what triggered it, but it seems being a friend of the forest might. Worth a test!
The odds have definitely increased for the owl- I got it somewhere from my fifth to tenth nights on my first ever playthrough!
I had a wedding occur at the same time the Crop Fairy came in a multiplayer game with friends.
This caused a bug in which I had a wedding happening at night.
So a night wedding could be another rare event.

Hi DF I actually have the rare stone owl on all my stardew valley play through. I have 7 play through and I seem to get the stone owl from the owls shadow flying across my farm and a hooting noise only at night. Then the next morning it's on my farm. As for the alien cap I got 2 of those and they showed up like the meteorite, instead of some crashing noise on the farm u hear alien weird noises instead. Love ur vids 🙂👍
ahhh the stone owl spawned in my game !!! i didn’t realise it was rare and moved it next to grandpas shrine. i have no idea why it spawned ,, but i do remember an owl flying by my farm late at night before i found the statue.
In the 1.5 update the chance for it to spawn was increased.
you will hear an owl sound in the night. that's how you can tell you get it - i also have an owl statue

I just bought/started the game earlier this month and I have the stone owl on my first world i created! Super cool to know that its a rare drop, I just put it as decoration on my farm where your grandpa leaves a note
I also got the strange capsule but as you said it broke open and nothing has happened
I actually got the event for the stone owl on my fisrt year when i was playing the game for the first time ever!! I didnt know it was so rare ay the time so I didnt mind it but now Im impressed by how lucky I was!

you might've read the comments already, but the odds of both strange capsule and stone owl were fixed, because they weren't supposed to be that rare. it was a topic of debate in the subreddit about whether we should stop posting about it because everybody started getting the events.
I got three...I dunno what to do with them. But mine showed up over three years in-game.
Edit: Nearing the end of year 6 and I now have five owl statues, and they’re all useless. I just want an Ancient Sword drop so I can finish the damn museum...

OMG I saw the UFO last night and it's only my second year in :'D I actually had to wonder why the hell I was seeing an alien spaceship but then thought it must just be a nice little animation. I feel lucky now!
Wow I got all of those. Also the capsule spawns a new critter you can see around sometimes.

I’ve gotten it twice. Once during my first year of summer, then during winter. It didn’t have the old pickaxe yet so it spent about a year on my game before I was able to get it
I got the stone owl. Right after my first spring. I just kind of left it. I thought until I watched this that someone just planted it there as a prank.
I've seen it 4 times and I just saw it. He said as long as it's not the 12th or 28th, but I just got it on the 28th of Fall, year 7.

Just got the Stone Owl event on Switch. If you click on it, it says something like, "No one knows where this came from" or something along those lines. I'll check in a bit. There was no accompanying text that indicated that it was there. I found it while on the far west side of my farm, beside the green house (I'm using a Forest Farm). I put it in my bedroom bc it's bad ass haha.
I got the rare marnie dialogue earlier today. It was the “Lew- oh.” thing. I feel honored.

For me it happens in my sixth year
It happened twice for me.
Once in my first year and once in my second year.
I got the stone owl 🦉 on my current farm on the second year of my first play through. I was so happy to get it.
I have the owl statue on my current farm, when the video popped it up as a rare event I was kinda confused because I was so sure I had one, so I got on my save and its definitely there.

The stone owl I've gotten twice on my farm legitimately and it was within my first year, and I've gotten the strange capsule once. So it is definitely in the game

The stone owl showed up on my farm pretty early on my second month i was so confused as to what it was i chucked it in a chest and havent touched it for all of my 4 year playthrough

another rare thing is those damned crabs in the mines, when I don't have a quest for it, they show up like 2~6 of them... but... If I do have a quest, their rarity increased like hell

I had a stone owl drop on my farm today!
In 1.5 its really common
It was made as common as the meteor in 1.5
So now it is a 1% chance of spawning (1/100) which makes it MUCH more common than before
I just started playing and the stone owl appeared in an open area on my farm! I started looking all this up right after lol
wait, i didn't know the stone owl was even rare at all. I found one on my co-op farm on nintendo switch in like early spring of my first year and thought nothing of it. It lives by our crops and is named Clive

the rare capsule popped up on my farm about two years ago and i didn’t even know it was rare until i looked it up and found absolutely NOTHING about it. i thought my game was just bugged. i was even at my brother’s place when it happened, and when it busted open i got a weird garbled call on my phone. my brothers gf was a bit freaked out by it thought my save would’ve been screwed up 💀
I actually found one of the owls late spring in one of my latest files. I had no idea what it was and now I'm baffled.

I've got a strange capsule funnily enough my 1st year I believe in Fall. I was so happy and grateful.
I have actually seen the rare capsule on my first save on xbox1 within the 7 years/160hrs of game time. However, with my most recent play through on PC w/mods almost to year 3/60hrs of game time...I have still yet to see it. Although, I couldn't tell you what my 1st farm looked like, but after that...I ended up seeing an ufo fly through after completing one of my days.

i am on my first play through and i got the stone owl out of the blue one day and until this video i didn't even realise that it was even significant.
i play on stardew valley mobile with no mods.
I understand that after reading some of the comments that it is a whole lot more common to appear but i still think that it is pretty cool that i found it on my first play through in year one.

that happens multiple times a night. It's just a background thing, and also wouldn't ever trigger if he's just sleeping at 6:00AM regardless

I remember getting the ufo screen on my first few days of owning the game on a multiplayer with my friends and my friends told me it wasn’t that rare, 75 hours of playing later and I finally realize just how lucky I was considering that I also saw the sea monster the day before the ufo screen :P

When me and my girlfriend first started our very first farm in stardew, our first night we had the crop fairies come. Over 52 years in game later, I still have never seen them again. We never realized how rare that was.

@@xXJelly11Xx If you're playing in the 1.5 version, those events are not that rare anymore.. they actually increased the chances of those events to occur..
I've been playing since like.. from ver 1.3 or something, and believe me.. those events mentioned above are super rare at that time that u might only see it once or twice
I saw the fairy day three with my sister and since ive seen it on another save file before I wasn’t too shocked but wow

I’ve actually had the capsule happen to an old file for my switch, but I doubt my word alone counts as a confirmed sighting
Since 1.5 the rarity has been reduced from like 0.01 to one percent chance at night in your first year
I must have insane luck, because I had both the Strange Capsule AND the Stone Owl spawn on my farm within the first year of my very first playthrough
I had a meteorite land right in front of the gate into my barn and I have a copper pick... fml
i had a meteorite when i was new, and had no upgraded tools yet
had no coop, barn or greenhouse yet, as i was new
You can always move the barn . No tools needed .

Dude. I just started stardew valley this week. I found a stone owl while I was clearing out part of my farm, and moved it to the front of my house. Didn't know it was rare. Like, I chopped down a tree and suddenly there's an owl statue sitting there. I just thought it was a normal thing.

I'm new to Stardew (one year done) and i got that dialogue yesterday, I had no idea so I didn't clip it.
I got the stone owl event when I started playing. It's next to my barn :)
I had the crop fairy appear on my 3rd night and it literally turned EVERY SINGLE THING I planted fully grown. I actually cried.

I had the crop fairy 2 time it machine my coliflower in spring and yams in autumn (I really needed the yams to grow I did not have enough time )

I got the weird capsule that was broken in three days before, and on the same game save i got two of the owl statues on one game year
I caught the alien capsule one on stream, though I'm pretty sure it's happened in almost all my farms.
