You can keep opening and closing the buy chicken option until you get the colour you want. It says what colour it is at the top of the screen when you're choosing the coop for it to live in. I did this recently when I wanted a brown chicken. Much cheaper than buying a stack and chancing it. Didn't actually know you could get the blue chickens though :U
Krobus is how I got my void egg. I knew what they were from the internet and didn't have one yet. 5000 wasn't much to me by that point, it's a days income.
To me Shane is the most important one to befriend with a few hearts right away because he gives you the pepper poppers recipe which when made makes you move much faster for a long while.
DON'T GIVE GUNTHER YOUR FIRST DINO EGG....some files it's easy to find the eggs but most of the time it's almost impossible. Hatch the Dino then give Gunther it's first egg. Also you can sell the slime eggs for a hefty price so, once you fill up the slime hutch you can get a egg farm going! Black slimes don't produce slime so they basically become worthless which is why you need the wicked statue.
When you find a dino egg, you don't have to donate it to the museum straight away! Put it in the incubator first then wait till you get an egg from the dino :D

Btw... if u don’t want to have to collect 2 Dino eggs, u can just put the first one u find in the incubator then once your lil’ Dino is hatched it will produce an egg every week so u can use the eggs it produces to donate and make into mayonnaise
When you go to place the chicken in whichever coop you want, it says across the top of the screen "Choose a coop for your new - insert color here - chicken". So you don't actually have to just buy a bunch and hope for the best, you can just keep buying them until you see "Choose a coop for your new blue chicken".
It tells you at the top of the screen what colour the chicken is, so when you select a chicken from Marnie, it’ll tell you to choose a coop for your brown/white/blue chicken. If you’ve unlocked the blue chickens, and it says for example white chicken, back out and reselect to buy a chicken, and the RNG for colour will reset so just keep trying until it says select where to put your blue chicken. You can technically get a coop full of blue chickens this way, but it will take a while. I had to reselect 14 times to get my first blue..... but I’ve tried and tested and defo works.
Dinosaur eggs are one of the few artifacts I have not been able to find on my save file, and I'm in year four, so THANK YOU SO MUCH for the exploit about the wallpaper! I can finally start a dino farm!
David Wisnik yes, it's so addicting. I have Odyssey and Mario kart as well, but I've spent sooo much more time on this game, and it's only $15 compared to those being $60 each
I've got it on the Switch & on pc - I do miss the possibility to use mods which you have on pc but it's still a really good and fun game on the switch. If it's worth it to buy a Switch just for this game... well I don't know but for me I'd consider the Switch too expensive to just use it for this one game.
I built a Slime Hutch thinking it would help with getting iridium but I didn't find it helped that much. The Statue of Perfection you can get at the beginning of year 3 is much better for getting iridium, at least from what I've found.
I know this is kinda old and you probably learned this by now but for the sake of those wondering why the slime hutch is useful, Slime eggs sell for a decent amount. Green sell for about 1000g (you can make one egg just about every other day with just one egg press) Blue sell for about 1750g, red sell for 2500g, and purple sell for 5000g, so you can make about 1000-5000g depending on your luck. Plus the slime ball things inside the shed give off petrified slime occasionally, which is worth 120 and you can sometimes get 4 each day. Hope this helps someone.
When you buy chickens from Marnie, there's an exit button at the bottom right corner. If you exit, you won't get a chicken and it doesn't cost money. You can keep doing that until it says 'choose a coop for your BLUE chicken.' That way, you only have to buy one. Also, you can get dino eggs from the prehistoric levels of the skull cavern. You can forage them from nests on the floor or kill some Pepper Rexes to get one.
the easiest way to get the blue without buying many of them is when you buy one look at the top of the screen it will tell you what color chicken you will get.
You can sell slime eggs, they're pretty valuable. Also your pet slimes can produce petrified slime and neptunite. The 1.5 update added tiger-striped slimes.
For a full coop of blue chickens: The game tells you the color of chicken at the top, if it says white or brown, hit the cancel button and go back to the sale screen. It randomizes every time, so cancel until you get blue.
If the Dino makes an egg once a week vs chicken eggs every day how is it more profitable? Also, you can make duck mayo too. Also, can't you get items from slime balls? I love seeing them interact with villagers though
The profit would actually be more or less the same. Regular eggs are 50, Dinosaur eggs are 350. The only question from there is, can the dinosaur eggs be different qualities? If not, regular chickens are more profitable.

What's so ironic about the Dino egg is that chickens scientifically meet all of the qualifications to being considered a modern dinosaur. So technically any old chicken egg is just as much of a "Dino Egg" as the eledgedly named item.
with the slime hutch, you can collect the slime, press it into eggs and sell them. I think a full hutch produces about 60 slime a day, so every second day or so you can get a slime egg. Green eggs sell for 1000g, blue for 1750g, red for 2500g and purple for 5000g.

At the top of the screen when buying a chicken, it says either White, Brown, or Blue. If it isn't blue, cancel it and try again. I don't know if this works on the PC, but I'm married to Shane in the switch console version and it tells me what type it is.
A tip about the dino egg, if you haven't donated it, don't yet. Put it in the incubator until your dino gives you a new one. It took me an addictional 4 months real time before I got another one.
Supposedly you can hydrate your slimes with sprinklers. I think you can leave a slime egg incubator in town, in an out of the way spot, and hatch slimes in town. The town's people greet the slimes as they pass by.
your game has slightly different features compared to my game, like how when you press E instead of searching threw category on the top, its on the sides, and how when you hover your mouse over crops it tells you how many days it takes to grow, or how when you'r shopping the person selling you stuff has their face on the side of the options provided to you that you can buy. is this a mod or a update? slimes in the slime hutch will occasionally drop crystalized slime which is a gem and different slims when you kill em will drop different materials purple drop iridium ore sometimes
purple slimes can drop iridium ore oh and black slimes can drop two very valuable ores going for 400 a pop with the neptunite witch has a 5% drop rste also black slimes can also drop bixite witch is less valuable then the neptunite by 100 gold remember you can breed them outside in your farm were they wont need food or water and they have no limit capacity well in your farm outside the slime hutch this is also true but its can vet annoying oh and im pretty sure you can only get black slimes in the hutch
also the wiki talks about white slimes but it doesnt tell me how to get them but it says they can drop iron ore snd diamond at 12% chance if breed correctly it has red blue and green values or something i dont know
I love your videos. You make editing mistakes and repeat things, you have been playing the game for years and still don't know so much about the game such as some character's names, what some buildings do, and a number of other things. But even with all this stuff you are the most entertaining Stardew Valley RUclipsr I've seen.
Got to say, slime hutch is great for producing tons of slime that you can use to make oil makers. Get some truffles, sell some, oil some, make more money. Slime hutch can make a very nice amount of money but it is better as a complement to pigs :)
Just a tip. At the top of the screen it says what color animal it will be. If you go in and out between buy and cancel you can just click on amd off until it says blue chicken. You can also do this with brown or white chickens or brown and white cows. Brown chickens give brown eggs, white chickens give white eggs. Blue gives white as far as im aware. I know this is an old video so youve probably found this by now. But for the new switch viewers its nice go know.

Btw... if u don’t want to have to collect 2 Dino eggs, u can just put the first one u find in the incubator then once your lil’ Dino is hatched it will produce an egg every week so u can use the eggs it produces to donate and make into mayonnaise

The slime hutch is really useful if you farm purple slimes because they drop a lot of iridium
When you go to place the chicken in whichever coop you want, it says across the top of the screen "Choose a coop for your new - insert color here - chicken". So you don't actually have to just buy a bunch and hope for the best, you can just keep buying them until you see "Choose a coop for your new blue chicken".

How to become friends with shane, pam, and sam easy: Everytimw you go to the bar and buy shane and pam beer buy sam a pizza.
It tells you at the top of the screen what colour the chicken is, so when you select a chicken from Marnie, it’ll tell you to choose a coop for your brown/white/blue chicken. If you’ve unlocked the blue chickens, and it says for example white chicken, back out and reselect to buy a chicken, and the RNG for colour will reset so just keep trying until it says select where to put your blue chicken. You can technically get a coop full of blue chickens this way, but it will take a while. I had to reselect 14 times to get my first blue..... but I’ve tried and tested and defo works.
Dinosaur eggs are one of the few artifacts I have not been able to find on my save file, and I'm in year four, so THANK YOU SO MUCH for the exploit about the wallpaper! I can finally start a dino farm!

David Wisnik yes, it's so addicting. I have Odyssey and Mario kart as well, but I've spent sooo much more time on this game, and it's only $15 compared to those being $60 each
I've got it on the Switch & on pc - I do miss the possibility to use mods which you have on pc but it's still a really good and fun game on the switch. If it's worth it to buy a Switch just for this game... well I don't know but for me I'd consider the Switch too expensive to just use it for this one game.
Well you can't mod the switch.... I would just but it on steam, $315 for one game isn't worth it...
I bought it for the PS4 a while back and it was a cross buy with the PS Vita. Mobile Stardew is awesome
I built a Slime Hutch thinking it would help with getting iridium but I didn't find it helped that much. The Statue of Perfection you can get at the beginning of year 3 is much better for getting iridium, at least from what I've found.

I know this is kinda old and you probably learned this by now but for the sake of those wondering why the slime hutch is useful, Slime eggs sell for a decent amount. Green sell for about 1000g (you can make one egg just about every other day with just one egg press) Blue sell for about 1750g, red sell for 2500g, and purple sell for 5000g, so you can make about 1000-5000g depending on your luck. Plus the slime ball things inside the shed give off petrified slime occasionally, which is worth 120 and you can sometimes get 4 each day. Hope this helps someone.
When you buy chickens from Marnie, there's an exit button at the bottom right corner. If you exit, you won't get a chicken and it doesn't cost money. You can keep doing that until it says 'choose a coop for your BLUE chicken.' That way, you only have to buy one. Also, you can get dino eggs from the prehistoric levels of the skull cavern. You can forage them from nests on the floor or kill some Pepper Rexes to get one.
the easiest way to get the blue without buying many of them is when you buy one look at the top of the screen it will tell you what color chicken you will get.

You can sell slime eggs, they're pretty valuable. Also your pet slimes can produce petrified slime and neptunite. The 1.5 update added tiger-striped slimes.

For a full coop of blue chickens: The game tells you the color of chicken at the top, if it says white or brown, hit the cancel button and go back to the sale screen. It randomizes every time, so cancel until you get blue.

If the Dino makes an egg once a week vs chicken eggs every day how is it more profitable? Also, you can make duck mayo too. Also, can't you get items from slime balls? I love seeing them interact with villagers though
The profit would actually be more or less the same. Regular eggs are 50, Dinosaur eggs are 350. The only question from there is, can the dinosaur eggs be different qualities? If not, regular chickens are more profitable.
Duck eggs is better when you hatch them you get 1200 min right off the top he bat if you sell them after it hatches

You probably know by now but, yes the dinosaur eggs have higher qualities. Though even at full hearts the eggs are usually regular quality. The dinosaur isn't great for making money considering..

A somewhat stable way to farm iridium if you don't want to leave the farm, more or less. I'm guessing the ability to sell the eggs is to make up for the space the slime hatch takes up on the land.

What's so ironic about the Dino egg is that chickens scientifically meet all of the qualifications to being considered a modern dinosaur.
So technically any old chicken egg is just as much of a "Dino Egg" as the eledgedly named item.

The whole point of the slime hutch is to sell your slime eggs if you would like to sell them instead of breeding them Because they give huge profit
with the slime hutch, you can collect the slime, press it into eggs and sell them. I think a full hutch produces about 60 slime a day, so every second day or so you can get a slime egg. Green eggs sell for 1000g, blue for 1750g, red for 2500g and purple for 5000g.
i got my dino egg from fishing on year 4 before even watching this. also a void chicken on the 2nd year. i just wanted to see that pegasus chicken looking thingy
the slime eggs are quite expensive actually, specially the purple ones.
At the top of the screen when buying a chicken, it says either White, Brown, or Blue. If it isn't blue, cancel it and try again. I don't know if this works on the PC, but I'm married to Shane in the switch console version and it tells me what type it is.
A tip about the dino egg, if you haven't donated it, don't yet. Put it in the incubator until your dino gives you a new one. It took me an addictional 4 months real time before I got another one.
Supposedly you can hydrate your slimes with sprinklers. I think you can leave a slime egg incubator in town, in an out of the way spot, and hatch slimes in town. The town's people greet the slimes as they pass by.

I watched a few videos of yours before, but after spending a few hours watching through the recent stardew videos i think you deserve a sub!
slimes in the slime hutch will occasionally drop crystalized slime which is a gem and different slims when you kill em will drop different materials purple drop iridium ore sometimes
purple slimes can drop iridium ore
oh and black slimes can drop two very valuable ores going for 400 a pop with the neptunite witch has a 5% drop rste
also black slimes can also drop bixite witch is less valuable then the neptunite by 100 gold
remember you can breed them outside in your farm were they wont need food or water and they have no limit capacity
well in your farm outside the slime hutch this is also true but its can vet annoying
oh and im pretty sure you can only get black slimes in the hutch
oh and other slimes can drop assorted types of things plus you can breed slimes
also the wiki talks about white slimes but it doesnt tell me how to get them but it says they can drop iron ore snd diamond at 12% chance if breed correctly

I love your videos. You make editing mistakes and repeat things, you have been playing the game for years and still don't know so much about the game such as some character's names, what some buildings do, and a number of other things. But even with all this stuff you are the most entertaining Stardew Valley RUclipsr I've seen.
Got to say, slime hutch is great for producing tons of slime that you can use to make oil makers. Get some truffles, sell some, oil some, make more money. Slime hutch can make a very nice amount of money but it is better as a complement to pigs :)

Just a tip. At the top of the screen it says what color animal it will be. If you go in and out between buy and cancel you can just click on amd off until it says blue chicken. You can also do this with brown or white chickens or brown and white cows. Brown chickens give brown eggs, white chickens give white eggs. Blue gives white as far as im aware. I know this is an old video so youve probably found this by now. But for the new switch viewers its nice go know.
