    For me, having an aesthetically pleasing but efficient farm with a wide variety of crops is more important than a massive ancient fruit wine factory. So I plant all available crops but favor the seasons heavy hitters like cauli, melons and pumpkins. Ancient fruit and sweet gem berries are limited to the greenhouse, wich is full of those as well as strawberries. And I havent unlocked ginger island yet but I will only grow the local tropical crops there. I also grow a lot of wheat because of the free hay, and like Waligug said, its satisfying to harvest a whole field of it with a scythe.

    I like the stupid machine that mills rice, converts beets into sugar, and wheat into flour. It's not really cost effective, but I like the independence. Now if we could only brew vinegar on the farm... Also, kale is a good crop to put into preserve jars before you hit level 10 and it becomes worthwhile to put more valuable stuff in. If rhubarb was classed as a vegetable, which it obviously is, it would be a great crop to put in preserve jars. Since it's a "fruit" and makes less valuable wine than other crops available around the same time, it's pretty useless except for completion of all the recipes. Too bad.

    • @Marialla.
      @Marialla. Год назад +8

      Rhubarb is good to put into preserves jars. It makes rhubarb jelly, which sells for a little bit more than cauliflower pickles.
      Compared to potatoes, kale doesn't make quite as much money. It's close, if you're pickling them. But the cost of the kale seeds knocks it down a bit.
      I like the mill too, though, just for the aesthetics. IDK why Gug would call it ugly!

    • @TheSpecialJ11
      @TheSpecialJ11 11 месяцев назад +2

      Yeah. It's not crazy expensive and pays for itself pretty quick between a large rice crop and then a large wheat crop to preserve your watering and tilling and fertilizer between summer and fall. Wheat seeds are 10g and then bread sells for 60g each. Labor intensive, but the fertilizer preservation alone quickly pays for itself. And grow just enough beets to never need to buy sugar, without ever intending to sell them.

Garlic with oil makes Garlic Oil which gives you eliqusor that gives you 200 health regin. Use Sunflowers to make the oil then use the garlic and oil to make em. So it's really not just about what they sell for but what can you make with them? Cuz you can also sell the food you make with em to make more.

    While starfruit wine sells for more, you get less per plot than ancient fruit, plus you have to buy more cutting into your profits even more. Plant them on Ginger Island and never need to replant, use the quarry as a keg farm, and massive profits. Hell, couple Ginger Island as a forever ancient fruit farm with 15 off the main farm plantable spots to put fairy rose and deluxe retaining soil and REALLY massive profits. I'm getting nearly 1.6 million a month from almost 400 fair rose honey every 4 days.

    To be fair, red cabbage is actually a pretty decent crop in year two if you're like me and enjoy having some variety on the farm without resorting to ones that have pretty much no value.
    Personally, I think it's worth planting a single flower and surrounding it with your beehives, especially fairy roses. They're all for the honey and it's just some variety.
    Also, rhubarb is a pretty damned good crop in Spring year two as well, way more than red cabbage in summer. Not a lot of good spring crops, but rhubarb is a pretty solid option.

    Just today I planted around 150 yams for the quest and got nearly 20k from them, plus an extra 9k for the quest. Yams don’t seem like much but considering I was broke the day before it was hilarious just sleeping and hearing nothing but that number ticking up and up

Plus 2 speed all the time. (Of course, I also have coffee. Triple Shot Espresso as soon as I can afford it).

    Why would you replant any crop when you can simply plant the vine crops in the greenhouse and put in sprinklers to get them to regrow forever? I have never finished the Stardew Valley Game (because I play on mobile and it got too hard, maybe I can't remember), but I know that once I had the greenhouse, I had trees in there and regrowable vines going continually regardless of season. That's what the greenhouse is for.

    The hop is the highest profitability, easiest to scale, cheapest long-term investment crop.
    Plant one crop per cask in your basement, on Ginger Island, have 2 kegs per plant, and you'll have your Golden Clock in a year. It's more efficient that starfruit wine.
    And before anyone argues with us, the profit checker on the wiki agrees with us. : 3
