4:32 WOAH OKAY MR QI- but like I rlly love how ominous this scene is, it kinda feels like some of other games anti-piracy screens (or at least the fanmade ones I’ve seen)
Removing the infinite statues of perfection exploit made me worried for a bit whether I would get enough iridium for my needs, but I've come to realize a few things. 1. The heavy furnace's chance to occasionally produce an extra bar, and always for less coal, offsets this reasonably well 2. It's a little bloated on my farm for all the variety anyway without a whole shack full of crystalariums anyway. (3 shacks of kegs, 1 of preserves jars, and now one of mayo machines and cheese presses is another story) 3. duplicating jades and getting stairs by the gross plus some good luck makes it easy enough to go deep in the skull cavern 4. The new statues buffs are also great for offsets.
The couch and the wallpaper still have the same IDs as wool and prismatic shards, EXCEPT all item IDs are qualified by type now. Wool is (O)440 and the Yellow Couch is (F)440 (O = Object, F = Furniture), Prismatic Shard is (O)74 and the Wallpaper is (WP)74 (wp = wallpaper). I'm still working on figuring out how the ID naming works. (I'm not looking up exactly which flooring tile and wallpaper though for any of these, if I list it just assume it exists somewhere) Table Piece R is (BC)23 (Big Craftable), same ID as the Galaxy Dagger (W/Weapon), A flooring tile (F/Flooring), the Gnome's Cap (H/Hat), and a Wallpaper Dwarf Scroll III is (O)98, same ID as Empty Capsule (BC), and a Wallpaper Dragontooth Cutlass is (W)57, same ID as a flooring, one of the Party Hat variants (H), and a Wallpaper My guess is there's some sort of priority, if an item with that ID exists go through the lists in some order and return on the first one, from what we've seen it would appear to be: Object, Big Craftable, Weapon, then likely hat, then flooring and wallpaper are a tossup. This is important info for Mod Authors because now when specifying recipes (or things like upgrades added to Robin's Shop) you also have to specify the item category as well.

I'm glad they left the name thing in. It can be a lot of fun for a casual play through and I enjoyed coming up with a head cannon for why I'd get a bunch of crazy items every time someone says my name.
the %noun being patched is sad though since that one didn't give advantages, it just meant you get called random things, or %name which gets you the animal naming system's names at random as if you're forgettable which seemed fun
i was just trying to look this up yesterday to know what i should do before the update reaches console and couldn’t find anything, so thank you for this!
Seeing as how the game calls you out if you change your name to an item id at the shrine of illusion, and how the only time he ever patched it out was for the Switch version because he couldn't release the game otherwise, I highly doubt he'll ever remove it.
I’m really going to miss the Statue of Perfection glitch. I always spent too much time getting multiple Statues so I could get so much iridium ore. Bummer.
Worth noting: the qi fruit exploit is now gone, and replaced with a new sort of exploits. You can no longer sell the fruit to pierre on the last day and buy them back after the quest ends. However, you can get giant qi fruit which don't disappear, and can be held over until you get the next quest to get an early head start. Don't break them outside of the quest though as they won't give you qi fruit unless the quest is active.
It was very convenient for me that scything out of bounds wasn't patched, because my modded save had all its mods updated except the upgraded greenhouse. This resulted in a very glitched greenhouse, with crops and fruit trees outside the useable area I was able to get them back by scything out
i think the item duplication from 2 players is really just a lag between the 2 issue. if you do something at the exact same time, it will not sync up perfectly. i think such an exploit is hard to fix
as a game developer and software engineer, it's not necessarily hard to fix: the game could just have a delayed check to see if dropped items with the same origin are duplicated across players and remove them from all but the source of truth (first player timestamp to receive them), but moreso the same reason as not removing the item id in name exploit. players who want to duplicate items can edit saves or use mods/cheats anyway so allowing some minor dupes like this is more of a fun quirk for normal players that stumble across it than a serious game balance issue
I feel like the majority of the bugs that weren't patched stayed because you had to go out of your way to encounter them and that the new summit cutscene is ment to represent all the exploits, not just out-of-bounds
Mr. Qi acting all innocent as if he didn't just polute the entire ecosystem by filling it up with lootboxes, then making us spend money for it at Clint's. man needs to get his priorities straight

Extra note in the multiplayer exploits section in 12:28: Cutting down trees isn't the only thing that lets you double the resources. If both players break an item (eg. iridium sprinkler) at the same time, it also doubles.
Just started my first play through on the Riverland farm and found that, when I added cabins to my map, each of them came with a fish smoker, I removed the cabins after taking the smokers out and was left with the extra ones. An fish smoker for 100g seems like a pretty good deal to me
I know my experience is anecdotal, but the berry bush reset definitely worked wonders for me. I did it every day in spring 1 with marked success. It's possible this was changed in one of the follow up updates though.
I'm quite happy that the multiple statues of perfection exploit got removed. It is too strong tbh, but ofc some people may think that at that point in the game, it is kind of pointless to even have it as you clearly already have access to whatever it provides. But to me, that statue was helpful. And I'm glad I have an OG save file that have multiple statue of perfection placed on the farm before it got patched out. Gonna cherish that file for sure.
The skull caverns stress me out, so the multiple iridium ore sources were great for me. I also used them to trade for mega bombs which was the BEST and I still get routinely punished bc they’re the only kind of bomb I use and as such I end up getting hurt by them frequently.
@@Feverm00n There's a new book and a new statue which should help with taking less self-bomb-damage (I can go into more detail if you're okay with spoilers)

There’s another way! Using a staircase in Lewis’s bedroom will bring you down into a cellar where you have to travel through a maze of barrels. At the end of the maze is the shorts. Once you pick up the shorts it spawns an invincible pair of evil shorts that will attack you and you have to go back to the cellar ladder before they kill you. You can do this multiple times to get multiple shorts I saw this on the wiki and just tried it to see if it worked and it did! Just a warning tho the evil shorts do a lot of damage so you have to be pretty quick in getting out of there

Another handy Multiplayer exploit is that when both players are in the building placement menu at Robin's you can then place down 2 structures at once. This then has Robin work on 2 buildings at once.
I haven't checked it myself yet but I think the Grandpa's statue of perfection glitch may still work. I believe in order for it to work, your inventory must be full. I noticed yours wasn't when you made the video so it may still work.
I find some of this very interesting, especially the ones with item IDs. I've played this game start to finish so many times that when 1.6 came out I started a new farm but then wanted to use a save editor to speed up progression and get back a lot of those late game items, a new game+ in a way. Oddly enough, even though I can't find any 1.6 editors at the moment, a 1.5 editor still worked really well. Obviously it doesn't have any of the new items or the ability to edit new features (like the shared mastery exp after you get your skills to level 10) , but that's fine since editing new things into the game wasn't really the point. The reason I found the item ID glitches to be curious is that a few items did glitch out when I added them to the new game, namely my old Infinity Sword, Infinity Hammer, and Golden Scythe. They all still function, but the images are gone, so in the inventory they're just red circles, and in the over world if I swing that item I just swing a red circle. I assumed that the item IDs had been altered to fix some old glitch or exploit, and maybe for those items it has? I also thought the ID name glitch had been patched out long ago, but maybe that was exclusive to consoles editions.

My favorite old exploit was the journal glitch where you could click on the journal button as you’re passing out from staying up past 2am, and when you click off of the journal you’d be awake for the next ten in game minutes. I would use it to spend literal hours in skull cavern, clicking the journal every ten seconds or so. They patched it out a long time ago though
The only one I ever really used was the /recountnuts, because I am not great at most of the challenges especially Qi's bean one. So I'm glad its still in the game.

1. The heavy furnace's chance to occasionally produce an extra bar, and always for less coal, offsets this reasonably well
2. It's a little bloated on my farm for all the variety anyway without a whole shack full of crystalariums anyway. (3 shacks of kegs, 1 of preserves jars, and now one of mayo machines and cheese presses is another story)
3. duplicating jades and getting stairs by the gross plus some good luck makes it easy enough to go deep in the skull cavern
(I'm not looking up exactly which flooring tile and wallpaper though for any of these, if I list it just assume it exists somewhere)
Table Piece R is (BC)23 (Big Craftable), same ID as the Galaxy Dagger (W/Weapon), A flooring tile (F/Flooring), the Gnome's Cap (H/Hat), and a Wallpaper
Dwarf Scroll III is (O)98, same ID as Empty Capsule (BC), and a Wallpaper
Dragontooth Cutlass is (W)57, same ID as a flooring, one of the Party Hat variants (H), and a Wallpaper
My guess is there's some sort of priority, if an item with that ID exists go through the lists in some order and return on the first one, from what we've seen it would appear to be: Object, Big Craftable, Weapon, then likely hat, then flooring and wallpaper are a tossup.
This is important info for Mod Authors because now when specifying recipes (or things like upgrades added to Robin's Shop) you also have to specify the item category as well.
There a guide which tell you ID of any item (including 1.6 and item like furniture or big craftable) if it helps.
That Robin scam trick makes me want to play local co-op with 3 controllers and get 3 free buildings all at once.
He actually patched out the name one in a previous update, but so many people were sad about that t, that he put it back. I don't think it's going anywhere ❤
Ah! I wasn't aware of that!
Thank you!! I have been avoiding spoilers but I noticed clay farming didn't work anymore and was specifically super curious about the other known exploits, so I really appreciate you doing a super focused video on this.

I love how during the testing of the geode crusher he had coal in his inventory. That got changed is 1.6 and it no longer needs coal but as someone we started play just before 1.5 I also keep making that error and I'm glad it's not just me lol
Thank you for posting these, it’s been keeping me entertained while I’m laying in my hospital bed. ❤
I hope he keeps the item ID one in forever. Its not something you could 'accidentally' do.
Seeing as how the game calls you out if you change your name to an item id at the shrine of illusion, and how the only time he ever patched it out was for the Switch version because he couldn't release the game otherwise, I highly doubt he'll ever remove it.
I played with the name robot[348] or something like that, without knowing and was really confused when I kept on getting potted cactus lol
I’m really going to miss the Statue of Perfection glitch. I always spent too much time getting multiple Statues so I could get so much iridium ore. Bummer.
i've been waiting for a video like this before i jump into the game again with 1.6. thank you!
This resulted in a very glitched greenhouse, with crops and fruit trees outside the useable area
I was able to get them back by scything out
We're gonna have to check these all over again for patch 1.6.4 XD
i think the item duplication from 2 players is really just a lag between the 2 issue. if you do something at the exact same time, it will not sync up perfectly. i think such an exploit is hard to fix
as a game developer and software engineer, it's not necessarily hard to fix: the game could just have a delayed check to see if dropped items with the same origin are duplicated across players and remove them from all but the source of truth (first player timestamp to receive them), but moreso the same reason as not removing the item id in name exploit. players who want to duplicate items can edit saves or use mods/cheats anyway so allowing some minor dupes like this is more of a fun quirk for normal players that stumble across it than a serious game balance issue
got back home after a short walk, was watching some older exploits today but is nice that in the same day i can see which ones do still work.
Thanks for checking for us ^^♡
Omg thank you for showing me how to do emotes on my switch. That’s crazy.

I'm so sad about the statue one. I relied on that for awhile.
Wow, I didn't know about most of these. Thanks for teaching me new things about the game

An fish smoker for 100g seems like a pretty good deal to me
NO WAY. That's brilliant. No endless farming for jellies on the Riverlands map!
Item ID naming was actually improved. I had one where I put the same ID in three times and before the update I only got one item. Now I get all three.
I'm actually glad to see the item id in your name exploit not patched because its SUCH a famous glitch in the game
At first I thought the berry exploit still worked but it's just that the rng had chosen to bless me.
I know my experience is anecdotal, but the berry bush reset definitely worked wonders for me. I did it every day in spring 1 with marked success. It's possible this was changed in one of the follow up updates though.
this is the exact video i was wishing someone would make 🙏🙏
Fantastic video! Must have taken hours to test all that! Thank you!!
@@Feverm00n Yeah pretty much the same to me, except, I'm quite lazy to constantly grind for iridium ores so sometimes I just rely on those statues lol!
Amazing video. Love your content. Keep up the good work!
I wish he'd maintain the stairs into mayor's shorts thing... 😢
You can do this multiple times to get multiple shorts
I saw this on the wiki and just tried it to see if it worked and it did! Just a warning tho the evil shorts do a lot of damage so you have to be pretty quick in getting out of there
I think he also fix that you could only introduce yourself to the bachelor/bachelorette of your choice so that the help quest would only be from them and fast track the relationship.
The Chair exploit is the only one that matters damnit!

I use them for easy mega bombs 😢😢
do you know if you play your old file on 1.6 will the statues still be there and functioning?
7:21 ✨a note for me to try when I get to the island✨
I always liked the scythe/sword out of bounds clip not for sequence breaks but for just exploring all the cool landscapes that you cant normally see much of. Though I will admit I did use the summit clip before 1.6 because it was just such a cool feeling to be somewhere where something big was clearly meant to happen, but instead it was just empty.
ConcernedApe really did all us "playing multiplayer with your little kid relatives" players a solid by keeping in the item duping glitches. ❤ Thanks, Eric.
I used the item ID glitch to get the statue of perfection and it works, I just kept on calling Gus HAHAHAHAHJSGDJHSD
Another handy Multiplayer exploit is that when both players are in the building placement menu at Robin's you can then place down 2 structures at once. This then has Robin work on 2 buildings at once.
Considering there’s already an Easter egg in regards to the item ID numbers in name exploit, I would have been surprised if it was removed

A line of text appeared at the bottom of my screen saying:

I think perhaps a bit more poking around into /recountnuts should be done. It might be required that certain ones be obtained, or there might be a best possible set to make it go as fast as possible.
