    This phones a beast, overall one of the best Samsung has ever released. I've had mine for almost 3 years and I've dropped it numerous times and it's accidentally been splashed with water where it's charging port is. I didn't dry it off, it just worked like nothing happened. After all that with almost 3 years usage, I've never had to change the battery, there isn't a single scratch on the screen and it runs perfectly smooth as when I first got it. Albeit the paint on the top of the phone has partly chipped away, but that's the extent of the "damage. Samsung, you're a beast and I'm waiting until your S6 gets announced March 1st or 2nd so I can pre-order that boss.

      The freezer test is supposed to be like leaving your phone in the car in the winter

    • @MrInk113
      @MrInk113 10 лет назад +13

      For example us living very north, where it's -25 C during the winter. All u have to do is take a walk outside and ur phone'll reach that freezer temperature.

    Awesome phone! A friend of mine was on a river bank (the ground wasn't strong enough) and he fell in the water. I gave him my hand. When I started pulling him out of the water, I fell in the water too. I slipped. We both have S3s. Both of us were in the water for a short time. No damage to the phones whatsoever!

    I hope people realize that tile and concrete are nearly identical.
    It's a completely moot point to argue about such a thing.
    Also, the only time the smoothness of the floor would matter would be if it had large, hard, protruding bumps or spikes. A minuscule texture differences doesn't change a damn thing.
    Another point, The first time she showed the phone, she was not displaying the Home Screen. She actually happened to be showing the app tray.
    I'm done; have fun.

  • @SuperSaudi911
    @SuperSaudi911 11 лет назад

    The purpose of Samsung Galaxy S3 is to call people, texts, and using many programs that help you to use it easily. not for freezing it, to heating it, to dropping it to scratching it.
    just to know dear.

  • @TheDizzie
    @TheDizzie 11 лет назад +1

    It also really depends on how something hits the ground. You can drop it, throw it and chuck it...with not a scratch. Then one day it slips out of your hand, lands on the carpet hitting the right spot and shatters your screen. I had a phone that flew out the window on the freeway and skipped a few times before going into a field it didnt get a scratch, but then dropped it on a table and the screen just shattered.

    I put a screen protector on the first day I had it. That night at work I noticed several deep scratches in one small area on the screen from the screen rubbing on my keys as I walked. I was thrilled the protective film protected the screen, perfectly. The protectors are something like 6 for $2 on ebay shipped. Thats not expensive. Well worth it. Other than that this is a great vid, liked the drop tests.

  • @LoProfGuitarist
    @LoProfGuitarist 11 лет назад

    This test was very impartial compared to the iPhone 5 torture test. They dried it for 4 days compared to less than two for the iPhone 5. The iPhone 5 was subjected to concrete drops while the s3 was dropped indoors... The list goes on and I think the more durable phone is the iPhone 5.

  • @Crusader1089
    @Crusader1089 11 лет назад

    From what I've seen in other drop tests the Samsung screen is pretty sturdy but like all other phones, doesn't like being dropped face down. If you do hit face down, or edge first, you'll probably get a crack without a little rubber case.

  • @iBleepYouu
    @iBleepYouu 11 лет назад

    Its exacly a pretty simple answer, when the freezer opens air flows in and in the air there are watermolecules. And when the freezer closes they stay in the freezer and when the watermolecules freeze they clamp on objects. No i am not that smart but i just had this subject at physics :p

  • @girlinagale
    @girlinagale 11 лет назад

    Remarkable to see it explode apart on dropping,then just start up like nothing happened. The water test is amazing, I live on a boat and water is all around (anti-zombie). I just ordered an Otterbox Defender because I've started playing Ingress and that involves lots of stumbling around pavements staring at the screen, so I will drop it!

  • @FreeMustacheRides97
    @FreeMustacheRides97 11 лет назад

    You can totally tell she is a Samsung fangirl. She was way harder on the iPhone 5. In the drop test for this phone, it was on smooth floor and iPhone 5 was dropped on rough concrete.

    I own a GS3, and I have seen the light scratches she got on that phone, on my own S3. The scratches are extremely light, you'd only notice them in the correct light. When the screen is on, they aren't noticeable.

    I must be extremely unlucky. I've managed to break the screens on two S3s, once by dropping onto a road and another by dropping onto wooden flooring. Both screens smashed instantly. I've never dropped any of my phones before;the S3 is just too slippery! Good call Samsung on making the S4 more 'square'.

  • @ZesPak

    Galaxy S series are pretty though compared to the competition.
    Although, I did manage to break my S2. Replacing the screen is quite expensive on an OLED device as well. Anyway, a bad drop can kill it, but you'd have to have really bad luck to have one.

  • @MediocreFish
    @MediocreFish 11 лет назад

    You may want to go get a refund then, because that wasn't a galaxy S3. The s3's have gorilla glass, and a DROP (not throw) from 2 feet would not break it. You must have bought a fake.
    I have dropped mine off the top of a two story house onto solid concrete, and although it cracked the plastic housing, the screen survived. (With a leather case).

    My current device is this phone (the lte version though with 2gn ram) and I can confirm in my experience these phones are beasts when it comes to destruction and carnage. Ive dropped mine various times and punched it up the wall a couple of times and apart from the battery comin out and some minor chips on the back cover this phone is still working well. Please note these phones tend to get a bit laggy after a few months

    1. This is not a comparison between phones... It isn't Samsung GS3 vs IPhone 5
    2. If you were to put the GS3 in an oven the poly carbon would melt at temperatures exceeding 200 degrees.
    3. The drop test is unfair for the GS3 though.

    20 degrees for a cold test and not turning it on when its warm? Any midwesterner can tell you their phones work after being left in the car in the winter or summer. Try something difficult!
    Also does she not know the difference between the phone being off and the screen being off?
