I have seen plenty of drop tests, all with pretty much the same results. Keep in mind, the iPhone 5 screen is also dead easy to replace. I personally have a Lumia 920, I don't have to worry about a case, scratches, cracks, uber-cheap plastic and wearing gloves.

No need for a case, just get a Zagg Invisibleshield! Your phone will never get scratched and it will have less of a chance of breaking the screen. I'm not even paid to say this, it's just a really good product. The iPhone 5 is too beautiful of a piece of technology to be swaddled in a case. Invisibleshield is the best!

in my experience, ipod/iphone products seem to have a screen that breaks, and scratches very easily.
