I once used my iPad 3 in 25 degree weather and it still was operating smoothly. I also once left in a hot car for a few hours and it's still amazes me. My iPad sustains heavy use (i baby it) almost two years with no noticeable decrease in battery life
Got a replacement unit in 2016 after I dropped it face down by accident. Last time I checked, it still works! Bought a pro 9.7 inch about 8 months later and just bought a used IPad Mini to replace it. Still keep my 3rd gen iPad because it has lots of iOS games on it that aren’t compatible with newer versions of iOS.
I own an iPad, iPad mini and an iPhone... One time I got so mad that I threw my iPhone and not even a single crack was seen. My iPad has been with me for like 5 or 4 years and it fell dozens of times but nothing happened to it. But then, just a month ago, I accidentally sat on my iPad mini.. Luckily it only had a few minor cracks on the side. I hope my devices will last longer...
We have iMacs in the office in London. Even a slight brush of sunlight was able to create dark spots on the LCD panel. Generally after 2 years their hard drives would run continuously above 42degree Celsius in idle. 10min of rendering can push it all the way to 68... Not build to last
every time you said you turned it off, you just pushed the hold button. you have to hold it and swipe the "power off" interface to actually turn it off. When the iPad turned itself back on while drying it off, that was because you bumped the hold button
And then I drop a small rock on the upper right corner of the screen, large crack right across from top-left to middle right, and from lower right to middle bottom. Funny how such small things can break a device when done in a specific way. Still usable though.
I just watched the new surface RT torture test, and that was way harder. for example for the cold test there was no cover on it and the oven test he cooked an egg on the glass. It was grass and the water test was wine. this was a little soft of the ipad i think
I have the 3rd gen ipad and it's bent only after 2 months! I kept it in a griffin survivor case and the thing is bent! I'm not sure if I should blame the case maker or the ipad. Still puzzled as to how i got bent...
this is the us and they use fahrenheit which in this case means that you left your ipad in a temperature of -22 degrees fahrenheit and in this video the ice box temperture of 31 fahrenheit converts to about 0.6 degrees celsius
Anyone care to enlighten me as to why the test was so soft on the ipad? For the surface the heat test was 250° for 1 hour and for the cold test it was put in a real freezer for 2.5 hours. Drop test was from 7ft and for the wet test he didn't give it a chance to dry. Seems unfair..
If you were listening, she said she was basing the tests off by Apple's documented temperatures. For example, in the freezer, Apple said that the iPad could survive temperatures up to 32 degrees. She wanted to test Apple's word. It's different for all devices.
You should run it through the same teat they did for the windows tablet rt. They left in the over with no towel for a hour!!! And dropped it from head hight on its corner.
Interesting for me, are these smudges or prints resulted on the iPad after the cell phone and the can have been dropped on it. Do anyone has any idea about that?. Could it be any kind of damage?.
Also, the drop tests here were done onto linoleum, which is a soft rubbery floor. Also, there were no direct corner hits; however it's all to be expected. CNET is in bed with apple.
my ipad dropped today because my friend whacked it out of my hands by accident and now the whole screen is cracked and you can see in side the ipad on the left side, there's literally a larger crack on the side showing the inside of the ipad but surprisingly it still kinda works
Omg! I almost had a heart attack watching this Molly.....for each gruesome test i kept on thinking that little ipad wouldn't make it!...but it did make it...thanks Molly...Some people are now suggesting that Cnet is being paid by Apple to promote the new gen ipad which to me is absolute nonsense ....the drops,burns,freezes,bangs..were all real! The tests were done fairly! That is why am now heading down to the apple store to buy myself one...little ipad is nolonger little...he is a Warrior Ipad!
The ipad in water was glitching cause, "Ipads screens are capasitive touch, which means it uses little bit of your body electrons of your finger to move/open an app, and water has the same result as if it was finger's all over the screen"
The iPad just reacted to the water that's why it went weird. The screen on most touch phones react to your fingers cuz of the electricity conducted through your finger, water is also a conductor of electricity so it responded when the water flowed on it...
True, she's way too kind in this video comparing to the Microsoft Surface. Plus, she was dropping it on the floor and not on cement/stome/brick/asphalt.
it's more practical to do spill test for an ipad, you dont just go swimming with your ipad in your pocket unless you have multiple sclerosis and very big pockets.
Why are they dropping the ipad so carefully, but on the Kindle they threw it down a flight of stairs, scrapped it across concrete, and then dropped it on it's edge.
I love the torture tests but it seems that bias and quick testing decisions degrade the quality of the tests. The integrity of CNET torture tests suffered from this review.
legend has it the 3rd generation iPad uses a nokium alloy shell and adapted energy shielding derived from the nokia 3310 Apple didnt scale up she shields enough for total protection so while difficult it is certainly possible to destroy a 3rd generation iPad the nokium alloy shell has impurities which compromise its structural integrity somewhat but it is still stronger than any other tablet ever made to this day it is the most indestructible thing Apple has ever made which is why new iPads now use cheap alumunium and lack the energy shields that were present in the 3rd gen iPad apple engineered the perfect iPad but people were not breaking them so they made the next model as weak as wet plaster
Why did Cnet stop doing these video? I miss them.
Bootleg Soda but why tho
I miss them too:(

I accidentally left my ipad in the freezer in a plastic bag.
Ezzy 3 SAME!
I miss this show

It's been 9 years, how is it holding up?

Is this the new iPad Pro?
I like how she "turns off" that iPad by just putting it in standby.
I own an iPad, iPad mini and an iPhone... One time I got so mad that I threw my iPhone and not even a single crack was seen. The video quality of this video is outstanding.
I used to watch these when I was younger
SAAAAME
Sameeeeee
I'm watching this on a cracked iPad. RIP 2014-2016
Oh No :(
Lasted for 3 yrs?
Same. I bit my iPad.
every time you said you turned it off, you just pushed the hold button. you have to hold it and swipe the "power off" interface to actually turn it off. When the iPad turned itself back on while drying it off, that was because you bumped the hold button
I know this dumb bitch doesn't know how to turn things off. She just puts the ipad on sleep mode lmfao.
And then I drop a small rock on the upper right corner of the screen, large crack right across from top-left to middle right, and from lower right to middle bottom. Funny how such small things can break a device when done in a specific way. Still usable though.
Looking back at the old iPad how it didn’t bend and now 2019 iPad Pro
The video was awesome but I was wondering if you could do the torture test on the s5
I use my iPad 2 since 2011. Extreme usage,1000+ battery cycles, few drops and it still survive until now 😙
Hey I was wondering if u could drop the ipad from chest height on concrete coz I did that it only cracked the corner nothing major but it's there!
I love the unlock sound. CHA

same with the mac book air, driving off with it on the roof and dropping it on its corner as well.

Yeah w.e they should all be tested equally.
The surface went in the oven with a freaking egg on it
Watching on my iPad
same
Same.
What iPad?
Ipad 2 for me
SAME
This should nt be conidered a torture test
You should run it through the same teat they did for the windows tablet rt. They left in the over with no towel for a hour!!! And dropped it from head hight on its corner.
Can you do a torture test o. iPad pro
That's the iPad I have and I dropped it standing level in the bathroom and got a large crack...
Wow on the torture test for the surface rt they put it in a oven and with the iPad they always cover it
What kind of drop test and water test was that
I love my ipad 4
Is that windows Xp I see in the distance?
Interesting for me, are these smudges or prints resulted on the iPad after the cell phone and the can have been dropped on it. Do anyone has any idea about that?. Could it be any kind of damage?.
What do you do with the surviving things
Also, the drop tests here were done onto linoleum, which is a soft rubbery floor. Also, there were no direct corner hits; however it's all to be expected. CNET is in bed with apple.
The first video where iPad is not spelled Ipad...
What if you tap on the screen of your iPad with REALLY BIG force? Will it still work?
yes duu
OMG I love how she doesnt get the difference between off amd standby... xD
We have "dose" and "amd" xD
@@awgybop1 doesn't is correct, amd isnt though
You're 3 years late.
my ipad dropped today because my friend whacked it out of my hands by accident and now the whole screen is cracked and you can see in side the ipad on the left side, there's literally a larger crack on the side showing the inside of the ipad but surprisingly it still kinda works
what soda can is that
I have a iPod Touch 4g had it since Xmas 2012 dropped it 373727383848828458 times no cracks or anything but I do have a problem with it freezing up
I dropped the same model of iPad while out in New York. Broke the volume buttons.

Fancy first gen ipad lol
In winter my HTC Evo 4g lte was fine the core temp was 8F for over an hour.... Also survived 6 ft drop
They're either sponsored or fearing a lawsuit if they say it sucks.
the floor in vinyl. Helps absorb some impacts
is it tile? my friend ipad just broke the screen falled by the bed into the tile...!
You can consider this tablet tough when you send it through the same tests you gave the Lumia 900.
Which is better iPhone 4s or iPad?
The ipad in water was glitching cause, "Ipads screens are capasitive touch, which means it uses little bit of your body electrons of your finger to move/open an app, and water has the same result as if it was finger's all over the screen"
I would happily still use it

Which ipad is that?
How come the iPad was in the oven for thirty minutes at 150F when the same test with the Surface cooked it for an hour at 250F?
What phone was that?
This brought me joy...
You should get the add blocker plugin which blocks RUclips adds and most popups!!!
you didnt submerge the ipad in water, why?
but will it blend?
Jesus, it's just a test to show the strength of the tablet.
This is why i apply a think layer hot glue at the corners of the iPad.Works pretty well.
can you have give aways??
But will it blend?
S3 nailed this show
I love the torture tests but it seems that bias and quick testing decisions degrade the quality of the tests. The integrity of CNET torture tests suffered from this review.
did she get an operation?^^
Anyone watching in 2021?
you can cook with an iPad?
This is their first torture test guys. They'll probably test The New iPhone soon.
Is this an ipad 2, 3 or 4?
It’s I pad one 🙃
3:50 iPad doesn't do well at that height on gravel. The screen shatters immediately
legend has it the 3rd generation iPad uses a nokium alloy shell and adapted energy shielding derived from the nokia 3310
Apple didnt scale up she shields enough for total protection so while difficult it is certainly possible to destroy a 3rd generation iPad
the nokium alloy shell has impurities which compromise its structural integrity somewhat but it is still stronger than any other tablet ever made
to this day it is the most indestructible thing Apple has ever made
which is why new iPads now use cheap alumunium and lack the energy shields that were present in the 3rd gen iPad

1:25 where did the sign go lol
What do you want them to do, send the iPad to them?
The 500g C4 test is up next!
corners are why i have to keep replacing the screen.
Th iPad was not doing stuff on the water test nor was it freaking out the water just moved the screen
My heart breaks just seeing the ipad dropped onto the floor :-(
I like this series
try dropong the ipad verticaly... let see what happens. they should includ humidity test on their future videos
You should try to do a ghetto ipad mini drop test
The screen bugs because the heat of your finger cannot make it through the screen and to the scensors
It still survived.
Lol i dropped my ipad while watching this!
did your iPad break when it fell?
mine did
This is a legit video, because who take an ipad or ipad mini outside?
Karim GamingChannel i do
How high do you have to put your brightness?
well i have good vision so 50% suits me
I take mine outside with a really tough case :p
Good, if you ever drop that without a case on any concrete that you own, be prepared for the damages.
worst water test i have seen
how?
She never actually turned it off... She just locked it
Miss you Molly :( :(
Still Using Windows XP?
I love this show!
Is that the I pad 2
but will it blend
Oh the good ol days when torture test were less torture
I really like watching these, the host is very cute and there's something about the destruction of tech that I'm compelled to watch haha
The new iPad is insanely tough
They should renew this and make it more fair to the other test of the other tablets
at 0:38 - You Don't Say! it says that on the title of the video and then you hold it in your hand for 42 seconds!
Why is it in a bag for the freeze test? unrealistic
