USB hosting (flash drives, keyboards/mice, printers - gotta love USB printing), NFC, Wacom styluses, notification LED, lock patterns, settings toggles in notification drawer, intents system, changeable keyboards, FM radio, reverse tethering, torrenting, automation (Tasker). Just a few of the things the iPhone can't do that I do on my Note II all the time.
Real world tests? Benchmarks != real world tests. I thought I'd just point that out. Also, the issues I have with the N4: -no expandable storage or 32gb storage option -glass back -gets hot enough to self throttle I like the phone, but I like my GN2 better.
I really am glad you didn't get hurt if a battery exploded when pulled out you could of lost those beautiful eyes safety glasses are for when things go wrong thank God it all worked out.your video's are fantastic.
I dropped my iPad mini once. On FLAT, SCREEN FIRST. I survived!!!! And dropped it several times on corner and once on screen, no damage at all. And on the first drop (screen first) it was high because we were on stairs and it fell all the way down. BOOM!!
i really want an iPad now that i know they will like never be ruined! i can't believe that you could see the water inside the screen and it was still on!
Aluminium feels nice. But it's a soft, pliable metal. The way it dissipates energy from drops and such is by bending and reforming. Polycarbonate is more rigid. It gets nicked from drops, but much of the energy is also dissipated by the removable battery cover design (it tends to separate upon impact). The iPhone does everything smooth because it can't do shit. iOS will be updated? Well, so will Android, and it's already leaps and bounds ahead of iOS despite iOS having a head start.
How many apps do you have? Probably only a tiny fraction of all those apps. # of apps doesn't matter past a certain point. Wacom styluses? Yes, people do care. Drawing/note taking is 100x easier with a proper stylus (not those capacitive styluses that suck). Notification LED: handy for knowing when you have notifs even when screen is off (esp. if you leave your phone alone for a bit) Note II smart dock: look it up. Keyboards: Gesture typing/Swiftkey/Swype > iOS keyboard.
at least you know the architecture is a major component. i'm tired of people thinking that more ghz and more cores is faster. just look at exynos 5 (cortex a15). so much power and its only a dual core. and my gpu source is from glbenchmark 1080p offscreen rendering. cant seem to post the link. mali gpus are pretty bad (t604 is ok but its nothing compared to powervr gpus)
what cant the iphone do other than look good? it might be boring but it does get the job done. i can write emails, i can navigate, play games, surf the internet, watch video, take pictures/video, word processing, presentations, spreadsheets. the only thing that the iphone really cant do is emulators, but i am pretty sure most consumers don't even know what that is.
The iPad is alllll about the landing lol.. I've dropped it while walking and it has been fine. But then it fell out of my car a few inches from the floor gotcha ground. And it cracked lol. Ikr lol
I do know about how CPU architecture plays a much more major role. However, that dude was just being an idiot claiming his iPhone had a 1.3ghz dual core processor like it was the latest thing. I said that to shut him up. And also, citation needed on the GPU part.
I got my first iPhone 5 last year, and thought it was amazing. My dad gave me his old Xperia when he got an S3 about 2 months after I got my 5. I loved it and sold my iPhone 5 to start saving for my own S3. If this guy keeps flaming you, I'm here to fuck his ignorant views.
LOL @ Macbook Air being the best Ultrabook. Firstly, it isn't classified as one. Secondly, it doesn't have dedicated graphics like Samsung Series 7 Ultra or Asus Zenbook Prime UX32VD. Thirdly, it's not FHD like Asus Zenbook Prime lineup.
I just watched literally all of the Always on episodes this weekend...
Can u guys do a torture test on the ipad air. really considering buying one and i want to know weather i can freeze it or not
You can cook a egg on the surface pro
Props to apple for that incredibly durable ipad!
+ androids✔️✔️✔️💯
omg hi there alex AHAHAHA
With the long commercial i fond out there is a new adblock for Safari 6. Thank you Cnet.
I can't believe the iPad 4 survived every test and even the liqued nitrogen and that drop and still lived
Best Cnet vid yet

nice show! love the ipad part
you are exactly right on spot man we love you
I would have laugh my ass off if he fell off the ladder when he said one more drop? hahahah :)
I wish i could say that no electronics were harmed in the making of this video. *cries*
I meant video out. The surface pro has all of that, hell even the regular surface does.
has word processor, external usb, kickstands can be found, and has tactile keyboard 80%
Wow, i actually can't believe that the Ipad survived all those tests! I thought that thing is going to broke really quickly! This is amazing!
All of the TVs have discovered the same technology at the same time!
Did anyone hear the Windows error sound?
HOW DOES IT STILL WORK?!?!!?
WOW!!!!! The ipad ultimate survivor!!!!! That was unbeleivable

I think i have just stumbled across the biggest chain of arguments with replies in the world, i will go get guinness world records and tell them.
Wooooooow best episode I have ever seen!
Uhhh, it survived after the final drop while it was frozen and was brittle and had ice stuck under the screen. The iPad deserved to be in the title.
putting a protective screen may help reduce crack when u drop,
but at your height it is difficult2say
You have a very informative channel.
I really am glad you didn't get hurt if a battery exploded when pulled out you could of lost those beautiful eyes safety glasses are for when things go wrong thank God it all worked out.your video's are fantastic.
I really think the bluetooth batteries are great. I can see a future with them.
Normally apple makes announcements after CES, so maybe this year they will too.
Love this show! Great stuff!
Well I didn't see any bending or reforming of the iPad's aluminium in the drop tests.
1:46 something pluggend in/out lol
1:46 damn i thought that was my pc
Im watching with no ads :)
I have an iPad and love it I understand it surfing and winning that but not Unnofficial best of CES
well, im actually impressed, apple is usually the one shunned for its fragile products but in these tests they come out the most rugged

I am so amazed at that iPad!! :'DD
I cannot believe it. The IPad survived...
You could of done like 50 torchor test with all that
why did your show discontinue ????!!!
At 5:20 i was hoping he would be the 'one more drop'.
i really want an iPad now that i know they will like never be ruined! i can't believe that you could see the water inside the screen and it was still on!
4:48 what????? look at the iPad mini's lockscreen why???? or it just a screen shot?
Yes that was a screenshot because the iPad was in the landscape mode and the lock screen was in the portrait mode

Dang and I'm watching this on a Nexus 7.
Johnson X i know but i was saying i was watching the video on a google nexus 7
It's actually an iPad 3.
1:46 something plugged in or out*
at 1:46... did anyone check to see if a device was removed from their computer.... hahaha why was the usb removed sound there... lollll
This is hurting me so bad! Epically as I own an iPad pad mini 😭😭😭
That iPad is a beast!!!
I'm comparing the software features. Because, you know, iOS gets "regular updates"?
Is that iPad made out of Terminator material?!
how in the hell did the ipad work after?
when the ipad mini landed flat (without the case ) it shut itself all the way down
How many apps do you have? Probably only a tiny fraction of all those apps. # of apps doesn't matter past a certain point.

I love you Molly
i cant believe she doesnt realize when slam something on the ground, compared to dropping it, slamming a object has more force.
iPad SURVIAVAL ALLL
Why did they use the go pro hero 2 instead of a hero 3.
at least you know the architecture is a major component. i'm tired of people thinking that more ghz and more cores is faster. just look at exynos 5 (cortex a15). so much power and its only a dual core.

aren't there any of those apps or fitness analysation gadgets for dogs after all they are mans best friends
Why are there so many ads on this video. I had 5
Damn that is one solid IPad!:O
Nothing else would've survived that lol. They said it themselves, they wanted to destroy it.
what cant the iphone do other than look good?

I want to work a cnet with Molly & Brian
That's stupid I drooped my iPad 3 once and it spilt in half and it did not work
Im going to try this with my mac book pro iphone5 ipad mini
Should I get an iPad 1st Gen or an iPhone 3?
that iPad impressed me....
thats because surface is more of a computer than a tablet
Yes
The iPad is alllll about the landing lol.. I've dropped it while walking and it has been fine. But then it fell out of my car a few inches from the floor gotcha ground. And it cracked lol. Ikr lol
I think the iPad should have been submitted to the same standards as the Surface was. Totally unfair.
How can you use that iPad
That is the strongest thing I have seen in my life (ipad)
good on ya mate
she didnt even drop the ipad in paris she threw it into the ground

8:41 You get a ligher screen afterall
OMG THE ADS!
sir both are good in their own areas ipad gives more of a tablet kinda experience and the surface gives more of a computer experience
got a little lag on iOS7 :(
There are. not they're are.
And tell me a reason why I'd buy a phone with an OS that has more games, instead of a gaming PC, or even a console?
Android 4.2 UI is way better than iOS. I have iPhone and Nexus 7, but the iPad mini is way better disregarding the OS.
Video out*

put all of them in sodium hydroxide
tell me how is that is possible?!?!?!?!
LOL @ Macbook Air being the best Ultrabook.
Firstly, it isn't classified as one.

Thirdly, it's not FHD like Asus Zenbook Prime lineup.
Adblock, four score and whatever amount of years ago
Indestructible IPad !!!!!!!!
U should send this vid to Apple!!!!! To make them realise what great job their doing!!!
Nexus 7 white?
Damn that ipad is durable
kevlar?? bullet proof :D
