I feel like all the torture you guys have done on the iPad Mini, it only survives through chance. In my experience, one drop, 3.5 ft high WITH a case means the screen shatters, and it's shattered enough that it needs to be replaced.
The thing was frozen for 2 hours, baked at 400 degrees for half an hour, had things dropped on the screen, covered with water, dropped, dipped in liquid nitrogen and then dropped from 9ft and still worked! I'd consider that a pass
Actually its better than the screen cracking. The back more like "popped" open instead of breaking. Looks reversable, maybe a couple connection checks but hey, no need to replace any hardware most probably...
Apparently didn't think to turn on the device before the power button was frozen in place, either. Would've been much cooler waiting for the screen to turn off, and then seeing if the screen still worked if it didn't.
Most computers (including phones and tablets) won't boot if you leave them in liquid nitrogen for too long because they will get too cold to conduct the electricity properly (they become supraconductors). It's called the cold boot temperature.
It's not all about hardware. It's software too. Now I used both, Android and iOS, and Android only feels as "smooth" as iOS when there is like 2x the CPU/GPU power in a device.
Ballistic doesn't mean complete protection.......the word ballistic or ballistics refers to some sort of projectile. In a phone case its referring to a drop. So they're not supposed to shield the phone, just save it from drop damage.
Why do people think wearing gloves when playing with liquid nitrogen is safe? It's actually more dangerous than going about it bare handed. If the liquid nitrogen soaks into the glove, you're screwed. Have fun with your frostbite. Though if you touch liquid nitrogen bare handed, you're protected by the leidenfrost effect for at least a few seconds. If you don't know that the leidenfrost effect is, look it up. There's my random annoying lecture.
yes, in this test it is indeed "impressive" but, with the money you are spending on an nexus you can get a life proof case and still pay less then an iPad. (prone to damage).
wow man I thought there was a spider on my screen
This related to real life situations we be like YEA LETS DIP OUR PHONES IN LIQUID NITROGEN!
For some reason you guys are better at youtube videos than the real news on andriod which is basiclly the IPhone app.

spottedstar1123 nah! ipad is the strongest of the ALL!
Ahh memories
does the touch pad of the ipad still works
what do you guys do with the gadgets afterwards?
Call Indiana Jones. Fridges with led in them are old-school. Just pad yourself with iPads, you'll survive 3 nukes for sure.

no drop at the end?
why couldn't you drop the kindle paperwhite?
321 below 0 is impossible in celsius. Theoretically, the minimum possible temperature is -273 degrees celsius. Its actually -321 degrees fahrenheit
I don't see myself putting my iPad mini in any of these situations, but it's good to know iPads are incredibly durable.
Could you possibly ask for anything more from a device than all the things they did to it? And it still worked?
Actually its better than the screen cracking. The back more like "popped" open instead of breaking. Looks reversable, maybe a couple connection checks but hey, no need to replace any hardware most probably...
Is Sprint a good carrier?
no, it has bad reception most places. Verizon is the best in my opinion.
you should do the torture test the ipod touch 4th gen
I wish I can take everything they drop before and the charger. And cable
I'm not too sure about the fairness of the nexus 7 test...
iPad is unbelievable, no one can deny it
Apparently didn't think to turn on the device before the power button was frozen in place, either. Would've been much cooler waiting for the screen to turn off, and then seeing if the screen still worked if it didn't.
Do an imac droptest!
8:14 sounds like the surface is screaming haha xD
I can't believe the iPad survived.

"dumb idiot." anyone who uses two words that mean the exact same thing to describe someone doesn't have the right to call anyone an idiot.
can you hear the cracking? screen cracks and blinded for life from glass shard
Dude, almost everything would crack if you dip it in liquid nitrogen and drop it from 9 feet. Even a rose cracked like glass!
Ballistic doesn't mean complete protection.......the word ballistic or ballistics refers to some sort of projectile. In a phone case its referring to a drop. So they're not supposed to shield the phone, just save it from drop damage.
Wasn't that ipad black before why is it white now
i cant believe i just watched that whole thing
Ok iPad survives a lot of stuff can you try putting it into hot water?
But will it blend?!
iPad 3 is the most durable mobile device? Mind blown.
the iPad was already cracked before it went into the nitrogen...
How did it survive survive?!?!? it was put in liquid nitrogen and it still survive the fall?!?!?
Dbpsvita linker I have no clue

you expect a device to be fully functional after those conditions, your crazy.
OMFG IPAD 3 IS AMAZING
iPad 3 performed like a boss
No Molly you didn't drop the iPad mini in Paris. You slammed it down
At that point they were trying to destroy it, and since it was still able to power on, it is a definite pass.
She never threw the N7 to the floor. The only thing she threw was the rugged Galaxy phone
Watching this on my 1 day old iPad mini 3
The droid RAZR HD btw
I own that phone. To turn it on u have to hold the power button for a good 5 seconds. Not a short press for other phones like she did
the ipad survived in liquid nirogen and dropped :D
I cannot believe the iPad wouldn't shut off!!! Thats amazing!
Gosh that was all so terribly awkward.
she dropped the non apple products way harder
He was dropping all of them high that 9 feet it had to have been 12 feet with him holding it high
yes. i totoally agree. for the other devices that would have been a fail
Yes I agree iOS may be a bit old, but it is still much more stable than Android.
Thank God you didn't do the drop test with a Nokia...
Because I am going to totally drop my phone in liquid nitrogen...
The real question is: Will it blend ?
tong rocking bred 11's???

321° below zero?? Go home, Celsius, you're drunk.

Didn't need this video to tell us that nexus products are cheap

Pretty sure I saw Jonathan Strickland in that video.
the spirit of steve jobs lives in the ipad !!
Wow didnt know the ipad is so durable
i dropped my I Pad 3 from shoulder height and the glass shattered.
iPad still shatters
They make more from doing this than the value of the items they're destroying
My ipad mini shatterd it's screen from 2 feet and it shattered
Redundant?
hah, he still needs to be on a step to be the same height as molly. CNET, get Tong a stool.

Why?? :(
yes, in this test it is indeed "impressive"
but, with the money you are spending on an nexus you can get a life proof case and still pay less then an iPad. (prone to damage).
Tong has bred 11
it was only a second difference.
Oh that iPad is just ridiculous!!
Yeah!! Now I can put my ipad in liquid nitrogen! Yeah! What's the point?
