It seems like almost every torture test episode the water test isn't fair. I think she should do the water test before the drop test for more accurate results! :)
Your explanation of why they do water last makes a lot of sense. At the same time, the fact that they're going from most risky to least risky so that they can use a single device doesn't mean that they're doing the test in a way that is fair to the phone or most useful to the viewers. And yea, I agree to that it's great that they're actually doing real hard tests.
My first note 2 died a month after I got it. Went for a long walk with it in the pocket of my parker jacket. Started raining and the moisture that got into the pocket killed the phone. Sent it to get fixed but it came back with a faulty touch screen (unresponsive). Got a replacement Note 2 and it has survived over a year now :) Otherwise I love the phone!
I'm surprised at how easily that broke. I was considering getting a Note II but not after this. I work outside and need a durable phone, my Photon has dropped off of roofs, been slung accross the room and fallen out of my truck countless times. The screen is hardly scratched so much as cracked. Shame, I was looking forward to the stylus, loved it on my HTC View. Thanks for the test! Saved me time and money.
Can you guys devise a torture test for a desktop computer, like the iMac? That would be so cool! I love these torture tests, please please please don't stop making them!
I dont see how it failed the drop tests when on other videos like dropping an ipad and it has a massive spider web crack but it still passes? These people are payed by Appld
you shouldn't keep your phone in that black hole you call a purse! Its inevitably going to get scratched with all the keys, and shiny objects you women have in there!
molly, you're tests are awesome! even though i wouldn't want to get some of the stuff you test IE apple products, its still soo fun to watch them be DESTROYED!
+Jordan Kwok yeah galaxy 3 and note 2 has the same shape it is so vulnerable! other series such as galaxy s2 and note 4 5 etc does survive many drops! Their designs are more stronger and different. It is just s 3 and note 2 that is round shaped and breaks easily god!! haha
i dont know how u did the drop test on 4s coz my iphone 4s glass broke twice and that too just from a 4 feet fall... u i can not say wheather the drop test you guys do predict a guaranteed result... rest you guys are doing a good job and i really love your show... take care Tej
The Gentlemens Choice, The ONLY way I'll ever give up my Samsung Galaxy Note 2, is when the Galaxy Note 3 comes out. That being said, I've dropped mine from a height of 1 foot and she cracked like a baby. However, other than dropper it, this machine is a horse, I truly love it. Great review. Thanks Kurtis K. Cullen
My HTC Magic recently fell down the wooden stairs up to my attic and then another story down onto stone tiles. It survived it without any (further) cracks, but I don't think it'll do it another time.
Maybe it gives a thought that manufacturers actually stress test these devices before releasing it to us? I like these videos. Even though some of the things aren't really practical in real situations. But at least you now know what your damages your device is capable of.
It's not even the screen (digitizer) that needs to be replaced. It's just the sheet of glass protecting the digitizer. That can be bought online for $10-15 and replaced if done properly.
also, I've read that it is the same stuff, it's just, that with the larger screen, it is much more susceptible to 'shattering' due to impact (for other reasons than how it (itself) falls)
Samsung Galaxy note 2 is so good , I dropped it like 50 times and it survived. Obviously it cracked though, it is still working. One problem is that I can't turn on the wifi. Rip
Water is probably the most high-risk test you can perform on an electronics gadget. They probably perform the tests from least risky to most risky so that there are more chances they will be able to use a single device throughout the testing. I doubt they have enough disposable money to destroy several of these things. I'm happy we get these hard tests at all, a lot of other people will test the devices VERY squeamishly, almost as if they want to keep the devices for themselves afterwards.
The larger a plane of glass the more likely it is to break, so its pretty self explanatory that the note 2 would be more likely to have a screen crack or shatter.
Not incorrect. It comes down to whether you want a professional factory replacement or an as you say, mucked up ebay job. No one said that it couldn't be replaced...just that it costs a grip to have it replaced back to factory specs.
Interesting "torture" test. Nice to see it survive the water test since the washing machine murdered my Note 1. But maybe I'll fire it up just to make sure it is actually "murdered".
The teary side of this story has yet to be told. To replace that sorry cracked screen reportedly costs $299. dub-dub-dub dot parts4repair dot comFORWARD SLASHsamsung-galaxy-note-ii-n7100-complete-screen-assembly-with-bezel-white Another YT channel did a major drop test and the GN2 fared much better. I'm pretty impressed by that submersion test, especially since it was already compromised. Is it coated or something? Were the charging port, buttons and/or jacks sealed off?
2:19 "everything come backs on"
Do the Note 7 Torture Test in the oven and smash the battery
2:22 EVERYTHING COME BACKS ON?? I love you, Molly
ill be funny if this was her boss's phone
😂
Note 2 drop test: lightly pushes it downstairs. iPod 5 drop test: *chucks at ground*
iSheep Joke
*puts phone in the oven at 200 degrees*
Phone doesn't turn back on .... " how is it not working I'm a little surprised "
I love your torture tests. Please keep continuing them they are cool to watch. 🤩🤩🤩👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Thank you Molly, I always enjoy you when you are with the Cnet group lol. Good test!
If I was the kid I would of ran off with the phone 😂😂
lol
XD
it pisses me off that shes the one doing the torture test but shes actually worried about the phone and calling it "little guy"
Sweet! I've been waiting for this one since the unboxing.
They should bring back this series
I nearly dropped my note 2 on the concrete today but my headphones saved it thank god
Sorry to say, but your "god" did not save your device. The samsung engineers that designed it did.
I didn't say god saved it ?
It seems like almost every torture test episode the water test isn't fair. I think she should do the water test before the drop test for more accurate results! :)
Love the show, don't stop making them!!! I will never stop watching them, and u make the show more fun to watch!!!
Great review as always! I like your personality. It adds to the fun of the video!
At least it won't blow up
Do the note 3 torture test
Ryan Connolly I agree
luckily that was the note 2 and not the note 7
like if she is still on cnet
Note 3 is the best note ever!
Do the note 8

I'm surprised a note 3 torture test hasn't been done yet. The phone was released in October and is very very popular. I can't wait til it's done.

all you have to do is keep it in a zip lock bag at all times keeps it safe from rain just don't take a bath with it.

Lol you think your so funny but in reality your just cancer.
Ur tests r amazing and so helpful, but also u have to try calling after the tests to check on the signal, microphone and loud speaker..
molly, you're tests are awesome! even though i wouldn't want to get some of the stuff you test IE apple products, its still soo fun to watch them be DESTROYED!
That bestie thing was pathetic
You're pathetic too.
should have dropped the s3 on concrete
ikr! but dropping them on 2 different grounds and comparing them after is pretty much unfair :C

it breaks my heart to see videos like this
When will you make one for the Note 3? I love your videos!
What a waste african kids could have eaten that phone
If i had a gun i couldve shot you but i didint did i
You have made a very valid point.
On the out of car test the phone hit rigid concrete, this means the most likely the phone will crack. Not a fair test.
2:22 you've got to come back, everything come backs on! 😂
I love the Note 2, simply amazing.
I like how there were people trying to save the iPhone but not the Galaxy from the freezer

THANK YOU FOR THE TEST, I LEARNED THAT THE BATTERY CAN BE REPLACED, LETS HOPE MINE NOTE 2 DOES NOT FALL INTO PERIL.

i lvoe how a "pretty easy drop" is the phone flying down a stair case.
I forgot how often I leave my phone in a oven. Thanks for this.
Nice vid!!
this is my new favorite " tv show". i love molly :)
And thats why you should buy a case for the note II.
With the heat "Hey dad whats for dinner? Samsung galaxy note 2, why are you hungry?"
Can't believe she just said "... come backs on." It was supposed to be "... comes back on."

such a cool mom,
why cant i bake, freeze, kick my phone
Everything come backs on.
it's funny seeing all of these crash tests and watching the iPhone 5 beating all of the competitors.
WOW! The Note 2 is great.
It's not even the screen (digitizer) that needs to be replaced. It's just the sheet of glass protecting the digitizer. That can be bought online for $10-15 and replaced if done properly.
Yes me to! I am just using a flimsy thin case for my Note II. But now I am nervous!
"everything comebacks on"
A good case for an expensive smartphone is always a good investment.
also, I've read that it is the same stuff, it's just, that with the larger screen, it is much more susceptible to 'shattering' due to impact (for other reasons than how it (itself) falls)
A good trick for cracked screens in the temporary is to put clear packing tape over the cracked parts of the screen
no dip
in all fairness though, if you drop any phone on a concrete service from that height and it lands in the right spot, it will probably crack.
"Everything come backs on"

Good job
For future phone baking, get yourself a set of Ove Gloves. Can't hold sh-- with those big ol' mittens.

Note 2, u stay strong there ok? *sniffs*
Pretty impressive
she said " everything come backs on " lol
It is supposed to represent leaving your phone in your car during the summer or winter when temps can range from 200 degrees to below zero.
"This is surprising it has legit scuffing" as her son throws it down the stairs.
Браво, това с фурната ,луда работа
Thanks for testing the durability of the samsung galaxy note II.
CNET when are you going to do the note 3 I been waiting for ages
The phone dropped face first on an uneven rocky surface, of course it would shatter.
Great videos Molly..thx! =D
In warm countries cars get really hot. And so, every time I go to a warm country I have to get new covers for the windscreens.
When you picked it up from the fish bowl, It was still on. When you said it was shutting down, the screen was just dimming from the screen timeout.
The larger a plane of glass the more likely it is to break, so its pretty self explanatory that the note 2 would be more likely to have a screen crack or shatter.
It's a different test for each phone!
you are so cool. love your show
"shove our beads down....seal it up nice and tight" fucking LOL xD
She is inhaling some VERY dangerous fumes from these tests.

when the kids doing the test, it is no mercy.. LOL
Give man a phone, first thing he does is to open the fridge to check for beer.
I was really thinking about getting one of the Notes 2's but I don't think so now!!!!!
Yes I am pleased!
Really interesting
I'm pretty impressed by that submersion test, especially since it was already compromised. Is it coated or something? Were the charging port, buttons and/or jacks sealed off?
Kids: Dad! What will we have for dinner?
Me: Baked Samsung Galaxy Note IIs!
Kids: O_O
You and your kid is so cute. You got me hooked on gsn2.
