Stanimir Georgiev .it should be great. However, the main race now is software integration.....it seems. Phones connection to wearables, software aesthetics, Etc.
krzemian it's now 2016 and the Microsoft 950 and 950XL run Windows 10 Desktop version. Now all we need is to be able to install 3rd party applications and programs.

Theres lots of computers and netbooks with android on, I don't understand how people can stand it though, I'd be more ok with it if it was more like the Ubuntu set up where when you plug the phone into a moniter and you add a keyboard and mouse you get a desktop GUI, because the phone GUI just isn't there, if google wanted the phone as desktop to be taken seriously they'd do more focus on the desktop side...
Dagogo! It was your videos that made me a samsung fan! I have used the note 2 all the way to note 8!!! The only note I skipped was the note 7. couldn't get my hands on the note 7 or its fan edition comeback. I love your videos ! I dont know why you didnt do more note videos but thank you for blowing my world with all this information!
Excellent video! Great music, awesome editing, cool music selection, and above all, great demonstration of what the Galaxy Note 2 is capable of - and to think it fits in your pocket! (sort of) So far, best video demonstrating the capabilities of the GN2. Thanks for posting.
In all humbleness, there's not really a need, the Transformer infinity is using a Tegra 3 processor which is STILL based on 40nm die process (which is what the Tegra 2 was based on) compared to the 32nm die process of the Exynos 4412. To cut a long story short, the Exynos 4412 is more efficient per clock cycle at the same clock speed. The Tegra 3 also uses single channel memory which is a real shame. I have a prime so I do have a bit of an idea of performance differences. Hope that helps dude!
Well as I stated in the annotation at the beginning, if your computer was BROKEN you would have used a keyboard, mouse and monitor along with the defective tower correct?
smart phone, tablets, or even laptops will never replace a full pc for gaming or other power user functions. For casual users, sure. It would be nice to see Open Office released for Android.
John Plissken awesome :) You just wait, give the industry 7 years and you'll be playing games better than battlefield 4 multiplayer on a 4K screen with high res from your own smartphone.
An extremely fascinating glimpse of one possible computing future. My PC needs to go into the shop and I'm looking at picking up a Note 2 this weekend. The week without my PC may not drive me insane!!
I experimented with Android as a main computer replacement back in 2012, as well. I had a Droid XYboard 10.1" (still have it), complete with an HD dock with USB, HDMI, and even sound output, as well as charging. While this worked fine, it didn't have the speed I was looking for. Dual Core 1.2 GHz just doesn't cut it. With the new Google Now laucher, skype, and even chrome, the tablet crawls to a halt. I'm thinking of just rooting this and running 4.4/5.0, only the HDMI wouldn't work.
this is so dope, all of your videos are legit. i just bought the note 2 for sprint and am waiting for it to come. i will be using all of your videos to trick out my phone. YOUR AWESOME BRO!!!
Highly impressive phone and well done on a wonderful video. Clearly you put a lot of work into this and I am glad someone pushed the phone to it's limits while sharing it with the rest of us. I agree with perautomatik, this is one of the best vids I have seen on here in a while. Great job.
I watch all the uploads as if they were split into seasons because there not short lol but its great that i found your page mind blowing and some.. I say to people im going to keep my note 2 for at least 5 years to you truly think the new phone in the next 5 years will be that more advance because i just can see that as far as the internal parts of the phone...
This video is very well done. THANKS A Million for the effort! Just bought the NOTE 2 as a Xmas gift for myself and I haven't looked back.... Been browsing around for info on how to tame this Beast of a Phone.. Thanks again! Cheers from NYC!!
Loved the video.... Something I always thought impossible and thought there was a gap between a PC and a mobile, you have bridged that today.... Bravo... Great work :)
Thanks for taking the time to make such an amazing video. I really enjoyed and appreciate your work. I will share your video with friends and family. Happy holidays!
Wow, GREAT video. I can't say how glad I am that you did this. I just bought my note 2 today and am really happy I did. This proves everything I've been trying to explain to basically everyone I've been talking to in anticipation of my latest purchase. haha I can't wait to share this to probably everyone I know. Especially the iPhone fans. I hope to integrate the Note 2 onto every tv/monitor with wireless HDMI. We'll see how it goes!
Fantastic tutorial, I'll have to watch it a few times to take it all in. I really had no idea this phone is as capable as it is. Really amazing. Thanks. Mega.
I remember when I first got my Galaxy Note II back in 2012. Back then I thought it was incredible and phones couldn't possibly get any better. A quad-core CPU in a phone? Incredible! But now looking back at it compared to my 12 Pro Max, I realize it was actually a huge pile of crap. One thing I liked was that it didn't use the PenTile subpixel arrangement, which reduced screen door effect compared to previous OLED Samsung phones despite only being 720p. Battery life was good with a swappable 3100mAh battery. Other than that, the cameras sucked and the S-Pen was a total gimmick. TouchWiz was terrible. Also I noticed the watermark in the bottom left corner is misspelled as "ColdFustion" lol.
This is one of the most well done Tech videos I've seen. You have a new sub... I liked and shared the video to share the greatness with everyone else :) Keep up the great work!
2020 I'm late to this party... I really enjoy your videos and you have a great deal of information that most people do not know. I also have an engineering degree, are you still hiring? I will work for free...
Just watched the video - excellent work. I love my Galaxy Note 2. It's the best all round mobile phone out there. Don't be put off by its size - you soon adjust and the sheer scope of the device is breathtaking.
This is the best review of a device i have seen so far! You should definitely make some more. Please make one where you compare Samsung Galaxy Note II and Asus Transformer Infinity as both have the same processor speed.
you know whats even better? the galaxy note 10.1. nice video. IMO, you put way too much time into it but it was very tastefully and skillfully done. i assume you did this for a portfolio piece?
Thanks so much dude. I watched this video really on the edge about this phone. After this, I knew there was no other device that would suit my needs this perfectly. I actually like the plastic build! Lol, but in all seriousness, thanks for this video
Neat demo, thanks! I used my Galaxy Nexus like a desktop PC a few times, but this looks a lot smoother and more practical with the floating apps and split-screen. Google needs to get multi-window support into stock Android ASAP. It would also be great to have HDMI out report a different DPI when it's used in "PC mode" like that so everything's not so big.
I think that was a seriously great video. I have the HDMI out thing for my S3 and it's cool on the tv, but never thought about hooking it to a actual monitor and using it for a computer. Only thing is charging. You will not get that much time doing this. They need to have a second port or something so you can keep it plugged in and be able to hook up other usb peripherals
Great material. Well done. Tomorrow note's bigger brother gets released. The 8" note. Maybe you try to do same type of material with the 8". Thanks for sharing!
This feature is one of the main reasons I gave up my iPhone for the Galaxy Note II. Although I have not been able to get a smart dock yet (because of back order) but I do have an order in for one as soon as they are available. I have an HD monitor I use via VGA from my laptop but I can't wait to use my NII as a second computer. I already use it way more than my iPad to surf the Internet and email, using the dock with my mouse and monitor will just be icing on the cake.
Hi, just found your videos. I must say they are very well done. You really are very knowledgeable about all the stuff you talk about. And I love the way you make the videos. Well you got another subscriber here.
I shouldve know bout this when I had my iPad and my Galaxy Player 5.0 which looks like a Note II. lol Hey, I probably can do all this with my G Flex. lol. Im keeping it now. dang! Great video. It has my like and attention. Must share this asap!
ummm,I was about to write "whooo I can't wait for the note 3 to be out" but ummm a Actually cant wait for your next video to come out!! i especially love two things among others: your way to make a presentation of a device in its fullest; and the music tracks that come along with it.Am subscribing and sharing of course! great job from an Ivoirian (west africa) girl tech lover!
I actually was thinking that this video was made by Samsung, you should charge them money cuz this videos is very well presented and it shows the really capabilities of a great hardware combined with the great software.
@coldfustion I can't believe that I have not discovered your videos until now! Awesome. Oh and by the way you have the PC trolls on the loose here... tell them to hunt somewhere else :)
Thanx for all the great videos!!! I'd really love to see you do an updated video with Note 3. got myself a note 3 here but need some guidance to start buying all the bluetooth gadgets and cables.
Great job, man. I'm working on mine based on yours. One question: how do you do the folders seen at 1:41? I watched your tutorial video as well but I don't recall this one. As far as I know Simple Text can only be launched for apps and shortcuts. It would be nice if it could be used to serve as a folder as well :)
Can you install ParanoidAndroid ROM on the Note II and remake this video? Because ParanoidAndroid allows tablet UI and tablet-optimized apps so it would be perfect to be both a phone and a PC replacement.
It is the most informationally comprehensive video I've ever encountered on RUclips. U should be producing a weekly tech segment maybe even daily. I am going to be in touch with U in the next couple of days after I bounce the idea off some other mibds @ the show. My one question is about a software that I use called "Final Draft " It runs ob the Mac tablet & I believe the iPhone 5 but not on the Galaxy note2. Is there an app that would allow my note2 to mimic being a mac.
I have an iPhone 5, and even i'll admit, having been a long time iOS user, that this is insanely impressive! :D For the desktop set up, im guessing the s4 (internatonal version) would be better because u can use the 8 cores to do more things simultaneously :)
So this was 2012..... do you think you can revisit this with the new samsomg note ?
I mean yeah, Samsung Dex is pretty lit. It just needs Android devs work for proper support on their apps.
Cant wait for ur "Note 4 Replaces the computer" video, wonder what ur gonna show youtube this time.
nothing.... it works worse cause it has more pixels to power
+lightgorm wrong, the Note 4 is MUCH faster then the 2. it can easily do better then this.
+Eternal Genesis eh i have it its glitchy af but note 5 is a monster though xd
lightgorm must be a default. My Note 4 has no problems at all!
2017 we now have DEX!
Easy on the caps! It's in the description under "Launcher" I now have 3 custom UI's on my channel. Go nuts!
This guy has come so far. I salute the hard work and consistency 🙌🏼🙌🏼
Watching this in late 2015. Wow, the Note 2 was a great phone. It was one of my favorites. Great video.
+Hafa Adai Watching in early 2016. I am curious what this years hardware will be capable of ;)
Stanimir Georgiev .it should be great. However, the main race now is software integration.....it seems. Phones connection to wearables, software aesthetics, Etc.
Hafa Adai I think that the main focus should be providing desktop functionality on mobile platforms.
Stanimir Georgiev very good point. Apple is doing a great job with that.
Hafa Adai On iOS? How so? I haven't noticed such level of functionality on my ipod touch. Would you please clarify? Thanks in advance =D
could you imagine doing this now in 2015!
Windows Phone 950XL!
+Kevin Johnson Could you imagine doing this then when 2017 comes?!
krzemian it's now 2016 and the Microsoft 950 and 950XL run Windows 10 Desktop version. Now all we need is to be able to install 3rd party applications and programs.
+Kevin Johnson 2020

People have been looking and waiting for a PC running android. It's been here. And to think that people still are calling these things "gimmicks"
They are just gimmicks to the uninformed
Mark Carder this is the Note 2, the Note 3 is much more powerful
Theres lots of computers and netbooks with android on, I don't understand how people can stand it though, I'd be more ok with it if it was more like the Ubuntu set up where when you plug the phone into a moniter and you add a keyboard and mouse you get a desktop GUI, because the phone GUI just isn't there, if google wanted the phone as desktop to be taken seriously they'd do more focus on the desktop side...

That is odd, I haven't are you using the smart dock? some people were having issues with that. Also, try using boat browser for RUclips.
Can this be done with the N4 ? Could not find anything similar to this for any of the new models.
Sure can, I'll be doing a video on it once my Note 4 arrives.
ColdfusTion Looking forward to it!
Federico G. me to
ColdfusTion Nice!
ColdfusTion can't wait to see it Dude..
Came here from the latest m1 ARM chips video
And that was allready possible in 2012!😳
Hey there!
It's go launcher, the details are all laid out in the description.
Excellent video! Great music, awesome editing, cool music selection, and above all, great demonstration of what the Galaxy Note 2 is capable of - and to think it fits in your pocket! (sort of) So far, best video demonstrating the capabilities of the GN2. Thanks for posting.
If only Ubuntu phone was made.. Sadly the kickstarter fund didn't reach the goal.
Ubuntu phone exists, doesn't it?
Yeah but it's not the Ubuntu Edge phone.
remynisce33
I could install Ubuntu on my phone if I wanted to.
How about You do this for the Note3?
Thanks!
MyBluePlanet Even so, on a purely "interest" basis, it would be nice to see the differences, as well as variants on other modern phones. :)
Nokia Lumia 950 and 950XL just did it!
+saif shine Oh yeah! Lol, I totally forgot they are now named Microsoft Lumia. Dumb IMO. Nokia is much more recognizable!
Super Mushroom Soup same

Angry Birds and Candy Crush do not count as gaming.
John Plissken awesome :)

Even if that is true, I would have the choice between Battlefield 4 on a 4k smartphone, or Battlefield 8 on a 16k multi-monitor display group.

with some many phone reviews on the web,i find yours to be the most spectacular !!
THANK YOU C.F! This video, shared on Facebook by a friend, convinced me back in december to buy THE Note 2! It's an amazing piece of technology!
I remember how baffled I was when I saw this video years ago. This aged well, using Samsung Dex time to time on my S10+.
Loved this video, and Bear//Face at the end made it even better! Really made me appreciate owning an Android device.

A video on that is in the description (Last point of the FAQ)
Amazing job man. The UI looks gorgeous on the monitor.
Thanks for your hard work in this production! The GN2 really is pretty amazing!
Just watched the video - excellent work. I love my Galaxy Note 2. It's the best all round mobile phone out there. Don't be put off by its size - you soon adjust and the sheer scope of the device is breathtaking.
Your homescreen/icon/theme setup is awesome.
I am from pandemic decade , I just want to tell you that this channel will grow into millions ❤️

Great vid! Focused on the essentials and you have a nice easy style. Well-thought out. Hope to see more!
Man the way u do videos is out of this world
Hi, just found your videos.
Must share this asap!
dude, thanks for the snack break. That was very considerate. oh, and Ian writing this from my note 2
ummm,I was about to write "whooo I can't wait for the note 3 to be out" but ummm a Actually cant wait for your next video to come out!! i especially love two things among others: your way to make a presentation of a device in its fullest; and the music tracks that come along with it.Am subscribing and sharing of course! great job from an Ivoirian (west africa) girl tech lover!
With the 1080p screens coming this year will be even more great!
You are a Genius...The Idea was incredible and the video make is super...Many many compliment guy! Good Luck from Rome!
Couldn't share it but this guy totally nailed it!
Great video, and as matter of fact, I used another of your videos to customize the UI....great work there...thank you!!
Awesome video, I really liked it. Amazing how far has the smartphones come away. Amaazing
You can find it on ebay, just search for Samsung HDMI cable and it should come up. I'm doing a video on accessories pretty soon anyway.
I love all of your videos. They're so relaxing.
Name is a bit deceiving, but the description made me a bit happier. I was hoping that the output would be 1080p, I'd be very impressed then.
Excellent vid. Really informative and unbiased. I have a GS3 and was thinking of swapping to the Note 2, this has sealed that decision. Thank you .
the fact that and can play 4 flash videos at the same time is amazing !
Great vid. This just makes me feel even better about choosing this Phablet. The adaptations are many.
I hit the thumbs up button immediately after seeing that the video is from ColdFusion. I know I gonna learn something good.
I'm still using my Note II. Replaced the screen three times from drops, and it still looks great and runs great.
😂 This aged well... You should see today's Samsung Dex (Desktop Mode) on any galaxy phone.
That was incredible man! Keep up the good videos. Definitely makes me want a note 2 now! Did you have it unlocked? What carrier were you using it for?
Great Video, i am in the process of purchasing a Note II, this video only makes me want to jump ahead and buy one right away :)
I actually was thinking that this video was made by Samsung, you should charge them money cuz this videos is very well presented and it shows the really capabilities of a great hardware combined with the great software.
thanks!!! this video made me decide to go for the Note 2... now I'm a happy user of such an incredible device... keep up the good work!!! cheers!!!
@coldfustion I can't believe that I have not discovered your videos until now! Awesome. Oh and by the way you have the PC trolls on the loose here... tell them to hunt somewhere else :)
Appreciate the presentation and the effort put into it - will share with my operations team
Try Boat browser, I believe it has native flash support.
Excellent work. Very generous you really know your way around the gear
Awesome video dude, I'll be looking forward to future one to comes!
This video showed me things I had no idea my phone could do. Thanks mate!
