    This phone went through more severe challenges than every other phone before. It got put in 200 degrees in the freaking oven, dropped off the top of a moving car, twice, freaking drove a nail into wood, and didn't get a chance to dry off. "I kept it in the bag for the last... 20 minutes..." -__-

    Windows Phone is fantastic. Seeing it in motion makes you understand that these tiles serve a purpose. It is a function-based OS, both the design and functionality goes throughout all apps.
    Once you realize what this means in practice you simply can't go back to Android/iOS. Like Windows for PC, Android and iOS are just launchers to run isolated applications. Windows Phone is so much more, add the speed and (power-)efficiency of the OS and it just offers an unrivaled experience.

    That's because when it fell off of his car it bounced on the corner. The Lumia 900 didn't fare too well in drop tests when the screen hit the ground.

    Let me add that on the water test, Nokia lumia take the plunge on the actual pool so obviously the pressure of water is a lot lot higher compared to a small bowl of water with S3 and iPhone. Again pretty much of a fair iCNET torture test! iCNET the imedia partner!

  • @lovelaceakuma
    @lovelaceakuma 12 лет назад

    This comment may never be read, but I would like to give you one persons opinion. Windows Phone or not what was on trial was the Nokia hardware. All the tests that were done were to determine if the phone would still operate, meaning how far the hardware would go. I take offense because as a tester you are to remain unbiased and you are suppose to remain objective, Which unfortunately you did not, so it's not surprising that you have received many negative comments about what you said.

    If you know your phone is not watertight and it gets wet, then:
    1. DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT attempt to turn it on! It's almost guaranteed to fry if you do
    2. disconnect the power source - battery. Too bad some phones have built in battery
    3. let it dry at least 24 hours, if possible, covers open
    4. then and only then try to turn it on
    In case of this phone he did everything to kill it with the water. Every non-watertight phone would die.

    It's the small amount of salt in the water that allows for conductivity. The salt separates into ions (Such as Na+ and Cl-). Without these ions (a.k.a. 100% pure water), you don't get conductivity.

  • @dilerboi
    @dilerboi 11 лет назад

    that is true, it is the minerals within common water that make a conductive solution.

    If electronic devices like phones are heavily exposed to water, do not turn them on but instead immediately remove the battery. If the water didn't kill it, you certainly destroy its circuits with a short by attempting to turn it on. Also, I highly doubt 20min in rice is enough to let all water remains evaporate and be soaked up by it.

    Yes, because a video is BS just because you had a different experience. I've had a Lumia 900 fell from my pockets several times and the screen is perfectly fine. It depends on how it hits the floor and what kind of floor it hits.

    MS have done a lot but I'm fairly sure that things would have progressed a great deal to the point where things weren't too far off from what we have now. Things might look a bit different but MS just got in there early with what they did. If they hadn't done that then other people would have done it at some point.
