That drop test was ridiculous! The force he threw it out a the window n the screen still didn't shattered! Well impressed! Good job mine has already been ordered and is on its way to me now :)
I absolutely love my HTC ONE! I've had the Evo, Evo 4g LTE & now the ONE. They have a great product & keep it updated unlike some other manufacturers. Cant beat it! The new look is fantastic!
This phone is easily the best phone on the market. I don't get why people are so high strung on those Galaxy phones. My sister has the S4 and she dropped it on carpet and the screen shattered into oblivion and I've dropped my HTC One on concrete with only a few minor knicks on the edges. This phone is simply the best around hands down.
the rice trick does work. at least in normal water problem. it sucks out the moisture. but, you got to leave it at least overnight and make sure all the casing and battery are taken out first. good luck!!
Yeah I dropped my HTC One in the toilet (short back pocket) and it worked fine immediately afterwards but I turned it off and put in a bag of rice for a few days just to be extra cautious. It works perfectly now, just how it was before. Also I've dropped it ( and it has bounced) more than a few times and nothing has ever happened to it. Considering it bears only the paper thin case that it came with and no screen cover... This phone is pretty much top notch, especially when it comes to surviving and thriving in my hands.
All three :O, you need a medal my friend. Reminds me of a friend of mine who had the worst luck with phones. He dropped phones in orange juice, left it in pants in the washing machine, dropped down a toilet, lol.
It does happen, obviously not on purpose but there are definitely people who will accidentally drop their phones in water or drop them out of a car window. The heat thing... yeah okay maybe not that one, but by showing us that it survived all that it helps people decide which kind of phone is worth getting. It shows you which companies really back up their products with solid engineering. I'm all for these kinds of tests.
had my doubts about the htc one, complaints from the users my sister telling me htc phones malfunction, but now i am conviced that this is the phone for me
I don't know if I believe in drop tests. The first few times you drop your phone, it is dropped on concrete ground without a case and it's just fine. Then, you throw it on your bed, and the thing disintegrates!
The phone gets hot because it's made out of aluminum. Aluminum has a relatively high thermal conductivity (much higher than plastic) which allows it to cool the internals of the phone through convection much faster than plastic could. It's the reason that high end desktop computer cases are made out of aluminum instead of steel.
The whole point of this isn't to see how it does in real life. it's supposed to be fun, and to see if it can withstand more extreme versions of actual situations, like a drop, or being left in the car. knowing it can survive extreme tests, we also know it'll survive daily use and accidents.
The phone "drops" out from the window, who in the right mind would throw a phone with force out of a window. Yeah I get torture tests and I love watching 'em but this is Crazy-Wreck-Your-Phone-Test-And-See-If It-Survives BUT it is amazing that the HTC One passed this. :D
The htc one m8 claims that its not water resistant, but a you tuber put it in 1 foot of water for at least 30 minutes and it works perfectly fine to this day.
can confirm.... my iPhone 4 survived a 18ft fall and then broke 5 months later after a 2 ft drop onto carpet and landing face down the best way to fall
One reason I didnt want the ONE is the lack of removable battery. My Motorola Atrix 2 took 10 minute bath in the washer a couple weeks ago. Immediately I took the case, back cover and battery out. I did NOT put it in rice, seein how the already cracked screen was bad enuf I didnt expect it to power on the next day. Its been thru hell and back the last 2 yrs and unfortunately wont last forever but right now the S4 has an edge for the removable battery. Both great phones tho. Tough choice.
I guess you're the lucky one. I really like the phone, but it drove me crazy. So much that I got an iPhone 4. WORLDS APART if you want to talk about reliability. I'm not a Apple fanboy, but just stating my experience. The only two things that suck about my iPhone is that it's from Apple and it's as small as the Droid X's screen. What are they running on?
This is supposed to be a torture test to see how durable it is, it's not supposed to be every day drops. Of course nobody puts their phone on their grill, don't you think we know that? It's a test not an everyday life situation.
I think, since Molly has had a Droid X, she is finally getting some relief by damage these things ridiculously. That smartphone doesn't NOT last. Motorola smartphones do NOT last the two years.
I'm really surprised at all the comments about how this survives water damage, one little dunk in the loo and mine was completely f**ked, had it fixed cost a small fortune, sister borrowed it and dunked the bloody thing again. After really thorough blotting and days in rice then mildly warm airing cupboard, you know what, it was still f**ked. Love this phone but will stick to my samsungs in future, they survive water damage like nothing else I've had.
Re-"you probably don't even have a phone. and you are just burning inside because you dont know that most phones are about $400 so just shut up and stop typing shit on comments" Yes, I do have a phone a proper high end android smartphone of that time. And btw, they are just phones so clam down.
Had I phone, s3, s4 and HTC one. Defiantly HTC one is the best there with out a doubt. Don't no anyone who has not liked the HTC one know hundreds of people who have changed from apple to android l.
Okay, 1:25 whatever the screen says right there I WANT TO KNOW. does the phone know its wet, and decide to turn off? There is a dialogue box across the screen. Wish we could read it!!
Pretty cool. I love the comment about how their phone broke. So what? I dropped my Galaxy Nexus 50 times without a scratch, it fell off my lap on the fifty first time and imploded! Its how its dropped, and quite frankly they're not all built the same. You with some devices that are cheaper than others. that's when we call the provider, and get a new one
That drop test was ridiculous! The force he threw it out a the window n the screen still didn't shattered! Well impressed! Good job mine has already been ordered and is on its way to me now :)

Definitely
you know it's funny how I'm watching this video on a CRACKED HTC ONE!
the rice trick does work. at least in normal water problem. it sucks out the moisture. but, you got to leave it at least overnight and make sure all the casing and battery are taken out first. good luck!!
You guys are having too much fun for this to be considered a good enough test for me.
Yeah I dropped my HTC One in the toilet (short back pocket) and it worked fine immediately afterwards but I turned it off and put in a bag of rice for a few days just to be extra cautious. Very impressive, I just love my htc one more and more and more.
This video was kinda awkward to watch, but very informative. I just got mine yesterday and I'm glad to know it can take a nice amount of damage.
It does happen, obviously not on purpose but there are definitely people who will accidentally drop their phones in water or drop them out of a car window. I'm all for these kinds of tests.
This is my number one most favorite phone I can't wait to get it on Verizon when I comes to the market in the summer
I think I keep my HTC One extra rare in the cooking department. Crazy that the screen didn't brake on the second toss out the window.
The way both of you drop the phone to the drink made me laugh xD
had my doubts about the htc one, complaints from the users my sister telling me htc phones malfunction, but now i am conviced that this is the phone for me
I don't have hTC one but my hTC sensation with me for
2 years and it still strong!
I don't know if I believe in drop tests. The first few times you drop your phone, it is dropped on concrete ground without a case and it's just fine. Then, you throw it on your bed, and the thing disintegrates!
Lets see the s4 now. This is why I got the One, it's amazing

And for our next test, we see if the HTC One can survive a nuclear explosion....
When did you think it changed? When they put the Lumia in a pool, oven, or used it to put a nail on a piece of wood?
are these professional actors?! holy shit great acting!
The whole point of this isn't to see how it does in real life. it's supposed to be fun, and to see if it can withstand more extreme versions of actual situations, like a drop, or being left in the car. knowing it can survive extreme tests, we also know it'll survive daily use and accidents.
You're right, it has a lithium polymer battery, which is more volatile.
I love how the 7-11 logos are perfectly centered so the camera can see its a double gulp. SELLOUTS
You should do the same torture test on every phone you are testing , so we can compare.!
The htc one m8 claims that its not water resistant, but a you tuber put it in 1 foot of water for at least 30 minutes and it works perfectly fine to this day.
what messes a phone up is people turning it on after its not dried out completley.
can confirm.... my iPhone 4 survived a 18ft fall and then broke 5 months later after a 2 ft drop onto carpet and landing face down the best way to fall
Just need to see the GS4 put through this. The GS4 and it's cheap plastic build would've started to melt on the grill. :)
One reason I didnt want the ONE is the lack of removable battery. My Motorola Atrix 2 took 10 minute bath in the washer a couple weeks ago. Immediately I took the case, back cover and battery out. What are they running on?
Hopefully the HTC One V is made with the same quality and durability.
My heart broke while watching the tests!
I can honestly say I've never heard the phrase. "Shit! I dropped my phone on the barbecue!"
that's my phone! i have had it a year and the only thing that's different is the battery dies faster
This is supposed to be a torture test to see how durable it is, it's not supposed to be every day drops. Of course nobody puts their phone on their grill, don't you think we know that? It's a test not an everyday life situation.
the salt might destroy the function of the hardware but hope it still works for u :)
People who don't deserve these wonderful devices.
I think, since Molly has had a Droid X, she is finally getting some relief by damage these things ridiculously. That smartphone doesn't NOT last. Motorola smartphones do NOT last the two years.
Comparing both HTC one and iPhone 5... Iphone is an antique...
iPhone - Sucks!
how many times have I said this to people before? it's just a preference thing.
I agree!
Honestly...I really feel bad for how this phone gets demolished....
Love this phone but will stick to my samsungs in future, they survive water damage like nothing else I've had.
my m7 survived water and hydraulic fluid
damn i'm so glad my phone would survive all this. I now feel more secure!
If I ever drop my phone from a windows like that, it sure as hell won't be thrown, just dropped.
dropped my htc one in salt water when getting off a boat, hopefully the rice trick will work.
The Htc One is a beast
Love this channel!!! ^_^
that was shocking! Its ON! It survived!
Not sure if HTC One or Nokia 3310
HTC one is durable but Nokia is a whole new level. It survived a hammer smash. End if discussion
Rasesh S I know that nokia 3310 is made out of chuck norris's bones but it isnt a touchscreen
this is why I'm getting an HTC one
My Iphone broke because of a little water. I just got the HTC One (awesome phone) I hope mine is this well built.
HTC ONE !!! YOU GO BOY
if that tortured smart phone refunded and donated in needy people like in Africans.. and you guys made us smile...
The cost of that phone could have fed an entire village in China.
I'm impressed.
Why? Because HTC one now is also waterproof? Not my fault man
i do believe in drop test because i just accidentally dropped it like that and it was still no scratch on screen...
Where can I see you in the TV?
Okay, they are clearing doing this for ratings now....please keep that season 1 mentality
water test should've been the last they done... it didn't say it was water resistant.
what kind of Torture test is this?
I took a storm while riding my motorcycle. my m7 took it as well. it still worked
I thought this was a little too extreme but holy hell
Re-"you probably don't even have a phone. and you are just burning inside because you dont know that most phones are about $400 so just shut up and stop typing shit on comments"
Yes, I do have a phone a proper high end android smartphone of that time. And btw, they are just phones so clam down.
And that's how u spent ur money on a smartphone.... and not on plastic or fancy isuck
Guess I made the right choice to switch from a Nexus 4 to the HTC One, then :D
Had I phone, s3, s4 and HTC one. Defiantly HTC one is the best there with out a doubt. Don't no anyone who has not liked the HTC one know hundreds of people who have changed from apple to android l.
Okay, 1:25 whatever the screen says right there I WANT TO KNOW. does the phone know its wet, and decide to turn off? There is a dialogue box across the screen. Wish we could read it!!
now both android and ios users know how it feels when unrealistic shit happens like this in these videos
Why are u doing that :(
I remember when the torture test used to be realistic...
This is not fair they don't put all the same phone three the same test
Damn that just made me love my phone that much more
Pretty cool.
Instead of calling it a Torture Test, just call it something else.
I had my HTC one only 22 days when it fell off the arm of the sofa. Screen shattere
I feel proud
Are they a couple a swear they seem perfect for each other
my htc one screen is shattered after drop of small tabasco bottle from about 40cm height directly on the screen
i had galaxy nexus than iphone5 now i have HTC ONE and i can easy say HTC ONE its the best phone i ever had till now :D
you have an imac phone?
I am impressed
God knws how many HTC ones has gone s\down this way
its such a sin to do such thing to a beautiful phone
hey cnet let the htc one under water for 2:22 mins and se if it pass the test without any damage like the galaxy s4 did
Yes but will it blend
Did they ever do a Nexus 4 torture test?
And the HTC ONE still win it
when you put on the grill... why dont you put a little bit BBQ sauce..??
1:50 That's never happened to me before.
Thankyou for calling my phone awesome I'm 11 and my dad bought it for me :3
spoiled shit
KLibbii sux2bpoor huh?
kinda..
Who needs a Galaxy S4 Active when you have a HTC One!!
This looks awesome, but my brothers HTC one cracked it's screen by a couple centimeters drop :(
Now I know how durable my phone is
it hurts me so much to see that...
HTC One!
I've had one from release day and only one screen crack and a couple of dents
Metal always beats plastic.
You hear me Samsung, Motorola and LG!
