I have an elderly friend (84 years young) who started making these jellies out of grape and apple juice. Was so sweet to see the spark it brought back to her life! Remembering days when she was canning for a house full of kids.
Regarding dependence on supermarkets, a town council member replied the only chicken he has ever met has been in a supermarket. That is so sad! Wonder how he feels now
Dont know if you guys gives a damn but if you guys are stoned like me atm then you can watch pretty much all of the new movies and series on instaflixxer. I've been binge watching with my girlfriend for the last days :)
I have made this two times and it's always a hit. Coworker and her family like it. I used half pint jars and it made a dozen with a little left in the pan for quality control taste tasting lol. Its not to sweet and just right but good Lord those 9 cups clean out my sugar container each time but it's so worth it. I'm never going back to store brought. I thank you for sharing your knowledge and so do my coworker and her family. I play it and hit pause then continue then hit pause again lol. I made it through and produced some good results. I felt like you were with me in my kitchen saying you can do this! I appreciate and love you.
😄😄😄I was there😄😄😄 I'm glad I could be of service. Remember you can reduce the sugar by 1 - 2 cups if you like. I'm soooooooo proud of you! I Love you too🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
I play Ms homestead heart every time I can something of hers! I just did my green beans getting ready to make this jelly! Mrs. Heart I live in Middle Tennessee and want to come down and bring my 15-year-old boy to your farm to see how it's really done! We live in a subdivision but we have our little garden in the corner by our garage. We grow green beans tomatoes, peppers, and whatever else we can can ;)
Patricia Simpson OMG, Yes!!! We used to fight over those jars of Mayhaw jelly my MawMaw made! I planted a tree just to be able to make some myself. The tree is so small now but I can make about 5 half pint jars a year from it. We hoard it like treasure.
Ms Patricia looks like it still is alive through your wonderful memories. We never canned in my family and we have a big family. I have one sister out East who has canned for years and now Im trying to do as much as I can. I really do appreciate Ms Hearts Channel to jump start me.
I know what you mean Patricia. I am canning strawberries, blueberries, and blackberries at the present time. I still see my grandmother hovering over the stove stirring whatever she was canning. Wish I could back to those days!!
I had no idea it was that easy! Sis I can't thank you enough for teaching us these almost forgotten skills. My grands and I started our container garden yesterday and today is my husband's last day of work for a while and he is going to make me a raised bed and we have a hill of rich soil that has been covered in leaves for years I can't wait to see what our little garden does for us.
You got me going when you were talking about processing the jelly for 15 minutes. It took a while, I searched high & low. The books seem to be stuck on 8 oz jars. I did remember reading somewhere that in the old times, they processed half pints at 5 min. Then when the USDA came out with not needing to sterilize everything if one is processing at 10 min or more, that is when they changed jams & jellies from 5 min to 10 min. I have a small collection of Ball Blue Books ( oldest is 1936) & I checked all of them. Finally, I went through a Better Homes & Gardens Jam & Jelly cookbook, and they had one sentence about adding 5 min if you were canning 16 oz jars. One would think canning jellies in 8 oz jars is carved in stone. So, you’re doing the right thing. It won’t hurt it & at least you know it’s heated all the way through. I hope Mr Homestead gets you the Ball Jam & Jelly Maker so we can swap recipes. I love my J&J Maker. I probably eat more of it just because I like to see the maker doing its job. Thank you for the entertaining video. Keep it up, you make me laugh. I like that you teach & also add a touch of humor instead of trying to frighten people about the RULES! You can still get the job done but have a good time. Yeah!
As someone new to canning, haven't started yet, I love your channel. You are so patient with your explanations. Each and every video you speak as though you are telling the first timers how to do it with confidence. Yet, I imagine, even seasoned canners learn a lot. You are a blessing to all canners! Thank you for being here. Oh, did I mention how simple you make canning seem! Love it! Have to go get started canning!
My family used to bring home bushels of grapes, apples, peaches and all kinds of vegetables in the fall. We had an apple tree in our yard and my grandmother had Concord grapes and my aunt had peaches in their yards. Sometimes they would go to the farmers market too. I never learned the art of canning because I was too small. When I got old enough they stopped canning. I am glad that you are sharing your canning techniques and the shortcuts because I remember the peeling, cutting, the skimming and all of the work they used to put into it. I love you way quick and simple and get the same results. Lol! Thank you!
Awwww..... LOVE that you have your grandmother's water bath canner! It's so difficult to even FIND grape jelly/jam that does NOT use High Fructose Corn Syrup.... I buy Crofter's jams that use real sugar and fruit juice, but they do not have grape. Thank you SO MUCH for your very easy and informative videos... Bless you sweet lady! You are always SO cute and I love your positive, sweet attitude. SUNSHINE in my day!!!! BLESSINGS to you!
I've made this recipe many times over the the last few yrs and it never fells to set and be delicious. I'm making it again right now lol My family loves this grape jelly. Thank you again for posting this. You helped me soooo much on my journey to canning ❤
My grandma used to make grape jelly. She’s send my uncle to the store to get as much sugar and as many pounds of Concord grapes as she needed. He was a short, wiry, Navy guy and would get asked if he was making wine! I haven’t had that jelly since 1968, but I remember it.
@@dorisagape9768 she made the grape juice from grapes, then the jelly. She never owned a blender as far as I know. She also sealed her jars with paraffin rather than using a water bath. (1960s)
Thanks so much my mom has gone with the Lord and she used to make jelly unfortunately I didn't learn. Thanks for showing us, appreciate it and God blessings!
You have inspired me to return to canning. I'm a single woman and I'm tired of buying food that are not made for one person. I've thrown away so much food. Now I've decided that I'm going to try canning chicken like you did but smaller portions. I just ordered the Ball book you mentioned and I got lucky. I got it for under $5 used. I also just bought my stainless steel pressure cooker. Yaaay! I can't wait to get started. I've already made your pineapple and strawberry jam but I only used 1 cups of sugar to 4 cups of fruit and it turned out perfect. Being a diabetic, it was just too much sugar for me. Friends and family love it and I have 2 pineapples ripening on my counter as I'm sending this comment. Thank you so much and God bless you and Mr. H for all y'all do for everyone. I love watching your videos and I love you both. Y'all take care and GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY ALWAYS!!!♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
I have never seen anyone use a water bath to make jelly. I am in my 60’s and all my life I have placed my clean jars in a 325* oven to get hot while I make my jelly. When the jelly is ready to be jarred I take the jars out of the oven and cover them with a clean towel to keep them hot. I also have the lids in hot water so the jars, lids and jelly are hot. Using a glass measuring cup I fill a jar at a time, wipe the jar top to make sure it is clean, then place the lid on the jar and screw down the ring on the jar and place it on a clean towel to cool off and jell. I have never lost a jar and it last a long time. I put up blackberry jelly every year and last week I put up 27 jars of muscadine grape jelly , never knew you could use bought grape juice to make jelly (thanks for that lesson). This is the way I was taught by my mother (who went to her heavenly home at 81) and my mother in law who is in her 80’s makes it this way also. Your way works but it is an extra step that isn’t really necessary. I really enjoy enjoy watching your videos, they
I've had the jars out of the closet, clean and ready, sugar, pectin and grape juice staring at me for a couple of months, lol. After 2 crazy months back and forth 4 times with our 19mo old grandson, I'm happy and proud to say Ian is 100% well from e coli and I have 12 jelly jars full of grape jelly for him and his Poppie to enjoy together. Thanks for providing such an informative, fun, and sometimes hysterical site to enjoy, learn and laugh. God Bless you All, Much Love 💞🥰😋
I believe that shalon Branson hit the nail on the head and her comment when she said that this is a forgotten skill. I believe for the past several years people has just gotten used to going to the store and buying their food products because they either don't have the time or don't want to make the time to do any kind of home canning. And I also believe that home canning is a learning curve that we should teach to our children. I can remember back when I was a child of 10 years of age my mother taught me how to can and I enjoyed and loved every minute of learning the canning skills from my mother. And you're jelly looks so inviting on a biscuit. Thank you for your generosity for sharing your great jelly recipe God bless.
I watched tons of videos and they all seem to be all over the place. God said follow your go to Homestead Heart. Thank you for making it simple. I went to my local dollar store and they had that exact sugar go figure. Tell Mr. “H” hello.
My Mother and I just made this recipe tonight!! It worked PERFECTLY and was super easy! Been watching a lot of your videos since I found your channel!! You're a great teacher! Go 'Dawgs!! 😁
I love watching you canning. I've got pancreatic cancer and want to make jelly with my daughter and her friends just to pass something on to them before I pass. My daughter has watched me can for her years. But her friends are like my babies too.❤
I make BlackBerry jelly using my grandmother's recipe. My mother made it all of my life. Plus I grow my own blackberries. I tried making grape jelly years ago. Actually it was my first jelly attempt. Didn't turn out well. I kept stirring, waiting for it to thicken. Then suddenly it got too thick for me to get it out of the pan. My mother stepped in and showed me the right way. Love your channel.
I just want to say thank you for all that you have taught me through your channel. I always wanted to can but my mama never would teach me. You have done for me what my mama never took the time to do. So now I am sharing all I learn through my You Tube channel ~Alabama Grana~ to leave behind for my children and grandchildren. Thank you for sharing all your wisdom it has been a blessing to me and will continue to be for generations. May God bless you for your goodness. Much love to you and your family! ❤ Love Love your channel.
I found you videos today. I love them. I feel I can make this and you make it look so easy. I have shared this with my friends. I hope you get more viewers.
I've just found and subscribed to your channel thanks to LeadFarmer 73. And I've never done any canning, but I'm really inspired to do this soon. I have a bottle of grape juice left from when I made a batch of wine with Lead 2 weeks ago. I get paid this Friday and I'll be ordering my supplies.
Hello Mrs. H I have my first batch of grape jelly canning waiting to set timer for 15 mins. Wish me luck . Thank you so much for all you do for us that didn't have someone to teach us.
I love when you share the current weather with us when you’re preparing something in the kitchen. “Y’all, it’s thundering out there!” 😂 I always picture that it’s sunshiny like when you’re outside working in the garden but I would love to be making jam and jelly inside the house while it’s storming outside so thank you for sharing that. We can get the whole picture of The Homestead.
I tried my hand at canning for the first time today. I decided to try your grape jelly process and it turned out great! I then did your strawberry and Pineapple jam today also. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge! Tomorrow I'm going to try canning chicken using your process also!
I actually thought you were bonkers when you said 9 cups of sugar. But I had to make your recipe. Well Lady my jelly came out outstanding!! Thank you !Sorry, I doubted you ..lol A big hit in our household!!
I love Canning And Just Enjoying JELLYS. My Grand daughter Jaydah Knows How to make Jelly.. Thanks for sharing your Canning. It looks so Delicious 😋 Gave a BEAUTIFUL day
Omg thank you for this Mrs. H!!!!! Getting ready to make jelly for first time by myself (Mother taught me 30 years ago but I didn't write it down, and she's gone on to b with our Lord). I'm so happy when I watch your canning videos!!!!!
I just happened to come upon your video on how to make grape jelly. I'm 73 and use to watch my grandmom make her jelly. The only difference is she put graps in cheese cloth and squeezed the juice out. She did the rest of the steps that you did. Which is way easier and less time consuming. Thank you not only the momorie but also the opportunity to have a product to do with my granddaughters.
I've been canning for 45+ years now. I don't water bath my jams or jellies! Just have to pour screamin hot jelly into a screamin hot jar....and put on a lid and ring. It will seal just fine every single time!!!! Saves having to lift all that water as well as saves time!
I'm making grape jelly now. I did 6 pint jars, oh so good. Made strawberry, mint, jalapeno, peach jellies. They came out perfect. Did an apple, oh boy it never jelled. Never knew you could use juice. Thank you.
Did this as a kid every summer with grapes. Had a concord grape vine and every year we made grape jelly and canned it. To this day I miss it . (Im 52) Me and my brothers would pick the grapes and skin them ( you just pinch them) then mom would cook up about 20 jars.
Love this! First year away from my property due to divorce. Miss my grape vines and woods full of berrys. I took all the canning supplys..jars..and seeds. Going to make enjoy and share this.
I made grape juice one year, & after I got the juice out of the pan & frozen, I used the sediment to make my jelly out of. It was the BEST GRAPE JAM I ever tasted!!
I love the taste and smell of honeysuckle nectar. As a kid we all loved the little wand of delicious nectar that came from the flower Can’t wait to try this jelly!!!
Love your videos and the way you express and explain things. When you took a bite of that grape jelly...no words were needed. Your face looked like you got a little taste of heaven. The dog bark at the end was so much fun. lol.
Hi I just started watching you a few days ago and I like the simple short cuts you have shown us, I can remember when I was around 9 yrs old my mom learned how to can all kinds of jellies, jams and preserves we were very fortunate to have a variety of fruit trees growing in our yard my mom made Cherry jelly apple jelly grape jelly pear preserves strawberry preserves watermelon rind preserve an apple preserves We had an abundance and I do miss those days oh and plum preserve but unfortunately as an adult I'm just now putting my hand into it and I like it so I want to say thank you so very much for sharing your skills I never knew it was so easy may the Lord continue to bless the works of your hands Ms. Homestead again thank you very much God bless you and your family
Sister H, my husband and I just jarred up 10 and a half 8 ounce (half pint) jars of grape jelly. So easy and very beautiful jelly. Not bad for 2 Sr Citizen newbies at canning... thanks for your wonderful canning recipes. We've been telling our friends all about you... you be #1!
My grandmother made jelly from grapes she grew herself. She would boil the grapes and strain through a flour sack towel. She never used any kind of modern appliance....just her talent, knowledge and her little gas stove. Her water bath canner looked just like yours. Without a doubt, the best grape jelly I have ever eaten. Thank you so much for sharing.....I can't wait to try it your way....!! God Bless.
I got my first water-bath canning set and grape jelly will be my first canning experience. I have everything and just needed to see someone make it. Thank you for making easy to understand. I have the Ball Book as well. 🙏
I did it!!! And came back to make sure you and I left the same amount room in the jars. 😂 My cans *popped* almost immediately 👏👏👏👏 I’m doing cranberry-grape next!
Just discovered your site a few days ago. You are an excellent teacher! I can jelly and jam and never thought to use a saucer to catch those annoying drips when ladling over.
Making some more for my friend in CA. It's going down today again smh. I love this recipe. I'm not a rookie canner anymore ❤ but 3 years ago that struggling was so real. Love you sis. Thanks for all that you do.
You are such a natural at teaching your canning abilities. I have been canning practically my whole entire life and I so love it! I watch as many canning and cooking videos as I have time to do so. Finding as many different techniques, tips and ideas as possible. I’m a newbie to your channel and I’ve watched several of your videos. We all live for the pinging of our canning jars!! Have a blessed day! ❤️
Just finishing making/canning your grape jelly and all is well and tastes AWESOME! I’ve been nibbling at the little leftover. Lol. This is the first time I’ve canned in over 40 years. I live in a little old rv so to cook I had to get my 2 burner propane cook top and the turkey fryer. Haha 2 propane bottles in my little kitchen. Can’t imagine how unsafe this is but it got the job done. I’ve got to organize better for next canning session. Soon the garden will get planted. Here in south Florida the heat killed everything I tried to grow this summer. Official growing season starts next month. Thank you for being you and letting all of us experience a good woman and hubby too. Blessings.
I just found you... thank goodness. I just ordered my pressure canner, so I'm a total newbie! I am now watching your entire channel. Thanks so much for being such a great teacher. :)
Tysm for your time & hard work bringing a lost art back to life for the masses. The millennial crowd & now Z's truly need these lessons. God bless you & Mr. H
I searched for homemade grape jelly and you page came up.. I love how easy you make it look. Just got back from store with the exact grape juice you had.. tomorrow morning i will be making it thank you
Thanks a lot Ms.Heart I ordered this book from Amazon and also I tried to order some seeds from you but your out.stock on everything. This is good for you. I am so glad I got this book I started canning Last Summer and I'm loving it. I got me a Presto pressure canner on sale 3rd of January and it was 16 quarts for 79.99 thanks a lot Ms. Heart you been very helpful in my life. Love you and family. Continued blessing 😇😇😇
Hi I thank you for all that I’m learning from watching your videos. So I was watching one in of your videos you said pectin is getting hard to get. So I looked up pectin on amazon. I saw the sure brand but I also saw weavers country pectin in a five pound bag. I went and looked up the reviews for Weavers and people love it. The only problem I saw is that once you take it out you may want another bag nearby or a bowl in case the bag it comes in rips. It had good reviews and it’s really not expensive. I just wanted to share that with you and everyone who watches your videos.
Mrs. H your spirit is so precious l laugh at me your realness and I can do see your kindness. Will be. canning something soon Thank you. God Bless your family.
Thank you for making this video. I’m watching it now but paused it to tell you WOMAN, I JUST LOVE YOUR STYLE. You and your husband are such a beautiful couple. NO WAY can you be a gramma…but i seen your grand babies so I believe you. I am probably older than you, just a white woman up north. And i absolutely love when you say “Ok you all” or “ya’ll” LOL i love it! You got a spark that is so appealing. I love LOVE how you explain us through a recipe. I wish i lived near you. It’s probably good that i dont cuz id be bugging you too much for information. 😆 I’m going to make cherry jelly as soon as my pectin comes from amazon today. I’m making, grape, peach, and your pineapple one too. OH GIRL toward the end of this video when you taste the grape jelly….your eyes tell it all!!!! I usually bust out laughing when i watch you cuz you got great humor….but your eyes….and then you say “i have no words”!!!! LOL [i just love it! ] But anyway i just had to tell you that you have a huge fan here in michigan and i love all your videos. I thank you and appreciate all you do. I will say hi when i see you on the other side!! I know you love our Lord and so do i. Hopefully it wont be much longer. 🙏 stay strong, keep looking up, keep sharing your knowledge, and keep encouraging us. You are so encouraging and you give me a sense of confidence i need to can. Thank you again, dear lady. Grace and peace
I can't wait to try this... I'm so glad I "accidentally " found your videos. I just got a pressure canner. I have a water bath one. I've only ever done tomatoes and that was about 20 yrs ago. Looking forward to more. Thanks so much
Just saying what I have was specifically sold as a water bath canner. I agree abvery large pot and lid would suffice ... bilut I was given the water bath canner. My comment was focused on the all American pressure canner.
Thank you sooooo much. Today I canned for the first time. I only made 1 can of Apple core jelly and 4 cans of apple sauce. I was tickled brown (becasue i am not pink) when then lids clicked/popped. My son who hates jelly has already used the left overs on toast and loves it.
I appreciate how you explain everything so well. I found your strawberry jelly video last Thursday and took off! I have canned and even pressure canned at least once a day since!! I have lots of jelly and butter next week meat!! Bless you and yours ❤️✝️❤️
I have an elderly friend (84 years young) who started making these jellies out of grape and apple juice. Was so sweet to see the spark it brought back to her life! Remembering days when she was canning for a house full of kids.
What a wonderful lesson. We have lost so much by becoming dependent on the supermarkets to feed us.

The blue book. , best canning book ever. I still have mine.
I just found me one even before I got my canner and supplies. I didn't know what it cost but I was going to buy it no matter what.
That little ping as the jars seal makes me giggle and leaves my heart happy. 🥰
I have invested in the pot & accessories. I'm gonna try this & tks for sharing
I watched tons of videos and they all seem to be all over the place. God said follow your go to Homestead Heart. Thank you for making it simple. I went to my local dollar store and they had that exact sugar go figure. Tell Mr. “H” hello.
I just love you. You're such a great teacher and your videos are so empowering. Can't thank you enough!
But her friends are like my babies too.❤
You are the perfect antidote to having a hard day! I can't help but smile when I watch your videos. THANK YOU💖
I make BlackBerry jelly using my grandmother's recipe.
I made 40 jars this week after watching your Grape Jelly video and it was a HIT!!!! Thank you
Oh my you took me back to the days when my grandma and aunt made Mayhaw jelly. Couldn't wait to spread on her biscuits.
I am gonna have to can some of this Grape Jelly for my two Girly Girls (Grandaughters). Thank you for showing us this method. God Bless Y'all.
Loretta! 🥰

Omg thank you for this Mrs. H!!!!! Getting ready to make jelly for first time by myself (Mother taught me 30 years ago but I didn't write it down, and she's gone on to b with our Lord). I'm so happy when I watch your canning videos!!!!!
I can’t wait to up my game with preserves thank u for being such a inspiration Queen!🥰
Thank you for sharing your awesome videos. I'm loving your content!
What type of equipment would you recommend to get started
I just happened to come upon your video on how to make grape jelly. I'm 73 and use to watch my grandmom make her jelly. The only difference is she put graps in cheese cloth and squeezed the juice out. She did the rest of the steps that you did. Which is way easier and less time consuming. Thank you not only the momorie but also the opportunity to have a product to do with my granddaughters.
Your Welcome Ms. Cynthia.
(Im 52)
Me and my brothers would pick the grapes and skin them ( you just pinch them) then mom would cook up about 20 jars.
Love this! First year away from my property due to divorce. Miss my grape vines and woods full of berrys. I took all the canning supplys..jars..and seeds. Going to make enjoy and share this.
Very good tutorial on canning with step by step instructions yes it is fun . I love it too. Thank you for a job well done.💓🙏
I am working on the grape jelly now. Got them in canner. My leftovers are yummy!
Just made me some apple juice jelly. God bless you!
It makes me so hungry watching you cook those great recipes and canning all the jelly that you make. Thank you so much!!
I made grape juice one year, & after I got the juice out of the pan & frozen, I used the sediment to make my jelly out of. It was the BEST GRAPE JAM I ever tasted!!
If you ever get picked up by some food station and become famous? Please don’t lose who you are. You are a treasure :-)
The dog bark at the end was so much fun. lol.
Hi I just started watching you a few days ago and I like the simple short cuts you have shown us, I can remember when I was around 9 yrs old my mom learned how to can all kinds of jellies, jams and preserves we were very fortunate to have a variety of fruit trees growing in our yard my mom made Cherry jelly apple jelly grape jelly pear preserves strawberry preserves watermelon rind preserve an apple preserves
We had an abundance and I do miss those days oh and plum preserve but unfortunately as an adult I'm just now putting my hand into it and I like it so I want to say thank you so very much for sharing your skills I never knew it was so easy may the Lord continue to bless the works of your hands Ms.
We've been telling our friends all about you... you be #1!
I came across your videos today and I have been watching them all day ...
I just love you! I have my first concord grape harvest after 10 years. Tomorrow I am making jelly from fresh juice. Thx, Lady!
😂 My cans *popped* almost immediately 👏👏👏👏
I’m doing cranberry-grape next!
I was just debating buying the Jam maker, but now... girl! You are my hero for real!!!
That beautiful pop sound!
THANKS for sharing your gifts with us! Blessings to you and yours! Be well.
This is hands down the best recipe ever thank you for going step by step and making it easy for me
Just finishing making/canning your grape jelly and all is well and tastes AWESOME!
Just finish making my Grape Jelly!!
Love love your videos 💞👍
Tysm for your time & hard work bringing a lost art back to life for the masses. The millennial crowd & now Z's truly need these lessons. God bless you & Mr. H
I love cooking and canning with pots and such that was used by my mom! Gives me a warm feeling!
I love making Jelly. I have made an orange juice jelly from frozen orange juice. My kids love the orange flavor. Jelly is great to have anytime.
I searched for homemade grape jelly and you page came up.. I love how easy you make it look. Just got back from store with the exact grape juice you had.. tomorrow morning i will be making it thank you
This is in my canner right now. It tastes so good!
Today 4/14/23
Love this recipe, seems easy, thank you. I appreciate your guidance 🙏
Love you so much ❤️. I just began canning in 1921 I can everything. You helped me tremendously. Thanks ❤
You're the best teacher!

after procrastinating (kids kept opening the juice every time i bought some). i finally did it! right with the video🥰
Im so proud of myself I've followed your steps and wow i made jelly ..! Thanks
That's Awesome! Yayyyyy
Thank you so much from me, from Southern PA.lol Chambersburg, south central PA. Love you and your farm. It is like Eden.
