- Grape Jelly Hack - from Store Bought Juice, Easy and Simple: Canning Inspiration.
Today I am making some grape jelly using store bought juice.
I hope this inspires you to try something new if you have never canned before or re-inspires you if you have not canned in a while.
I was inspired by other youtubers such as
Chef Jeffrey at / oldschoolsoulfood
and the Kneady Homesteader at: / thekneadyhomesteader
I used:
6 cups welches no sugar added grape juice
7 cups sugar
1 to 2 Tbls butter
2 boxes of original Surejel

UPDATE!!: My newest grandson is home and doing a lot better. He had a few health hiccups when he was first born but now is doing better. Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers.
Mrs.Alma amen to that. All praise to our Lord and Savior!!!

Amen. Continuing to pray.
@@mrsintense1974 yes ma'am. They told us Sunday he would need to be their a few weeks then once we shared it on our prayer chains and the power of our God. He came home yesterday. We get to meet him tomorrow.
@@rebeccamartus5859 yes ma'am he is.
Leslie, you may want to give Acres Homestead a watch. Becky gardens and is a preservationist and cans about everything. You never have to explain why you chose to do what you do. People admire you for many reasons and the "haters" are far less than those that appreciate you!
Becky is amazing and well worth watching.
I have watched them I enjoy them!
When my mama made grape jelly I stood there and waited so she could give me that foamy grape stuff off the top it was my favorite nothing better than hot grape jelly on fresh baked bread
I have made grape and apple from 100% grape juice not from concentrated. It turned out so much better than the fresh fruit to me. Delish!!!!! I bought my juice at the Dollar General
This video brought back so many memories. When I was little before my mom lost her eyesight she would can a lot every year. We had the old fashioned jar funnel like you had in a previous video. I can remember her letting me "help" with the grape jelly. We had funnel shaped strainer with a stand and a wooden thing you used to mash the juice out of the fruit. Now I know she would let it cool down a bit and had already gotten most of the juice out but she would let me help mash the grapes in that strainer and get some juice out. Thanks for the memories.
I make my grape jelly the same way, and girl, try making the Mango/Peach jelly using the juice!!! It's soooo good
Leslie, I have made this over the years, Ladies this jelly is so good, Thank you, Leslie for sharing with us, hugs n love to you all and many blessings to you all.
Leslie I would have to lick that spoon too lol . Grape 🍇 is my favorite jelly. I know zero about canning but you are so relaxed about it and inspired me to maybe try it one day. Mrs.Steve
Thank You Mrs Steve
Nothing better than homemade jams and jellies. My daddy always made the most delicious pear preserves from a neighbors tree. They were super yummy with a homemade hot buttered biscuit on a cold winter morning.
This brought back memories of going with my grandparents to get concord grapes so she could make jelly...i was just a kid but i loved going with them...oh and boy was that jelly delicious...i sure miss them to this day.. this recipe looks so much easier and i bet its great too...thanks Leslie...😘🙏💖🍇🍇🍇
Leslie, you brought back memories! Thank you. I am 67 years old and made this same jelly in 7th grade Home Economics. That year we learned to fry egg in a hole with an orange sauce from concentrate. I so appreciate all you share on your channel.
Congratulations on your doctor visit, you look great!
Awesome job on the jelly. That jelly isn’t going to last a year lol. I’m loving the canning videos
It’s my solace and relaxing time when I’m canning
Again nice job 👍🏿
Thank you Chef Jeffery!! I gave you a shout out!
Yes I really appreciate that
My husband's favorite jelly,I want to ask for your prayers my mom is in the hospital with pneumonia and has been pretty sick she just turned 80 thank you all
Prayers in Jesus’s Name ❤️🙏🏻
Prayers for her Pam
I just got done making both jam and jelly out of red globe grapes I got from a food give away. It turned out great. It was a true blessing to me to get the free grapes and I had everting else on hand.I may have to try this recipe..
Leslie hope that was Neeses sausage!!! Absolutely the best and I know you know that too. Jelly looks good too. 🙂
Yes it was!!!
I made strawberry jam this year, and it didn't set right, either. I use mine for pancake syrup. Delicious. :)
When I canned grape jelly I used hot wax as a sealer. It lasted for a year never a problem.
I love Rachel and Todd and the 1870 homestead 😊
I'm canning some jelly!! Woo hoo!! Thank you for sharing!!
I have made this and also with sugar free apple juice that I added cinnamon. Yummy!! Thank you Leslie, you are such a sweet person and I love your channel.
I helped my sister make grape jelly and juice once...from picking the grapes, mashing and straining them, all the way through the process. It is a tedious task but so worth it. I can't wait to try this because cutting out all the steps up to having the actual juice is fantastic! My mom and I like to eat our jelly kind of the same but instead of toast we would make fried cornmeal mush. YUM!!!! You really do inspire because I'm gonna have to make some mush now just to eat some grape jelly...Lol! Perfect timing because we are finally dropping our temps and it's really beginning to feel like fall. The perfect time for tummy-warming foods.
Hi Leslie, your jelly looks really good. I am a big fan of grape jelly. My peanut butter and jelly sandwiches have to have grape jelly and Jif peanut butter. Keep being you and what you do and don't worry about it.
A good way to tell if it will set is to coat the back of a spoon if it doesn’t run it will set up
That’s like my Mother-n-law when my kids were little she would put butter on her plate and some jelly and mix it together then put it on her biscuit. My son does that too.
You set my timer when you instructed Alexa. Second time you've done that to me today. Cracks me up!
Bask in your awesomeness!!!! 😊
Your hair looks so nice
Hello Leslie 👋, Enjoyed your video very much. Thank you for sharing this recipe. 👍🥰👍😋😋😋😋😋♥️. God Bless ! 🙏😊
That jelly that doesn't set up makes delicious syrup.
My grandmother made hundreds of gallons of jelly from fresh berries and from concentrate, and she would stand and skim that froth off by hand with a big spoon, and we would always open a jar of jelly and oh it was soooo good, thank you for the wonderful memories
I love making jelly
I haven't seen anybody make grape jelly from juice, fantastic. Thank for sharing and have a wonderful day. 😊🍊🍁
Thank you too
Another great video. Can’t wait to try this.
I have a Ball Jam and Jelly maker and I love it for making small batches of jam or jelly.
my mama used to put wax on the top of the jelly before she sealed the jars ? In the 1960s when she opened a fresh jar we got to eat the the grape flavor wax just like gum
Wonderful
You are doing the recipe from homestead heart...love Mr and Mrs H!! I understand completely about the prices for I'm starting to do quite a bit of canning too
I've never seen them. I'll have to check them out
Hello Leslie! Thank you for sharing the way you make grape jelly. You make it look so simple, and it looks delicious with sausage! Good for you! God bless!
Oh I wish I had the canner to process! I would love to do. I am 62 and have not canned in years. Does anyone remember when wax was used on top of jelly jars. My mother use too. Oh the memories.
I don't think I remember the wax on top of jelly
Such an easy short cut and looked delicious !! I love a bit of scrambled eggs with grape jelly ! Would be a quick easy project for a gift basket for a special occasion !! Thank you Leslie for this !! Bless you ..
My soul sista!!!! I grew up eating scrambled egg sandwiches with mayo and grape jelly!!! Never met anyone else that likes grape jelly on their eggs!
I thank you so much for this video. I struggled making grape jelly. I found many RUclips videos but yours was the only one that showed the jelly the next day! I tried it... It worked... Yeah! I'm about to make my 3rd batch!
Glad I could help! Please share my videos!!
I made both grape and apple jelly from store-bought juice and used the Kneady Homesteader's recipe. That was a couple years ago. I gave it for Christmas presents.
That looks yummy! I’ve been meaning to make jelly from grape juice and pomegranate juice. Now you’ve reminded me. lol
That is awesome love you guys !!!!!
Congratulations Leslie on canning grape jelly!! I know you got to be so happy with that!!
Made this years ago it’s delicious!
I have made jelly from fresh and from juice I canned. yummy,.great memories. This is the first year I haven't canned inbyears, I do miss it. I enjoy listening, visiting with you while you cook or whatever you do!! God bless you and yours❤🙏🙏❤
Thank you for sharing this recipe. I do not and have never canned anything in my life. Wow. Looks delicious ❤
This is genius! Pure and simple.
Oooh my goodness girl! that looked delicious!
Good morning Leslie. I haven’t been watching you tube that much cause I too have been canning. I have put up snap beans, peach preserves, cinnamon applesauce, spiced apples and plain applesauce. Now! I’m definitely going to make your grape jelly! Yum! Going today & get the grape juice. I bet you could make apple jelly with juice as well. Thank you sweet friend. Oh by the way the hay has been being cut and baled here in the mountains too. Fall is definitely here in the mountains. As I type this it’s 46 outside & quite breezy. The leaves are beginning to change color. Such a wonderful time of year. Bless all of you! Have a wonderful day. 😊🙏❤️💕❤️
I’ve had a bottle of grape juice on my kitchen floor waiting to be made into jelly😊😊
This is such a fun project to do with a new canner!! I made mango peach jelly last year and cherry! Juicy Juice is 100% no sugar added so you can use all those flavors! Also,
Hot food hot jar hot canner
or cold food cold jar cold canner. ❤
Thank you for this recipe❤
Leslie you are bringing back so many wonderful memories of when I was growing up. We canned almost everything.
One of the first things I learned to make in 8th grade home ec was biscuits and grape jelly from juice.
I would have never thought of using Welch’s Grape Jelly. I always used my own grape juice that I put up. I always enjoyed making jelly. You’d looks like it turned out great!
Jelly has gone up a lot, I just ran out of a couple of different kinds and went to the store and it is outrageous, so thanks for showing how to do it
What a cool idea!
Ive made grape jelly from store bought juice and Girllll it tasted just like store bought jelly !! And youre right you can make alot of jelly like that ..Mine lasted well over a year too ..I think I had like 2 cases of pints and it lasted and was sooo much cheaper than buyn it ..
I'll have to try this with strawberry or cranberry juice. I love cranberries. Daniel loves strawberries.
It works with apple juice too. I like to use the cinnamon apple juice. It has to be 100% apple juice.
I just found you and so glad I did … like your ways you cook. I just saw your Welch’s grape jelly hack LOVE IT!!!
This Summer was my First time I ever canned…if was water bath canning. I’m going to make this grape jelly recipe for Christmas gifts. I’ll be looking for more canning recipes. I’m hoping to get a pressure canner too and will give that a try!!! Fingers crossed🤞hoping I’ll do good with the pressure canner. God Bless!!!
Thank you for subscribing
I like doing my jelly that way too!
This is cool Bubbles 💯thanks for sharing ❤
you just set my Alexa for 1 minute, LOL I just made some salsa with our garden tomatoes & green peppers but bought onions & garlic. I'm gonna freeze it in pint jars instead of canning. Did it last year and works great. I made Grape jelly and juice with our concord grapes last week. Love your videos. Thank you!
My Alexa heard it, too! I canned some chow chow and it turned out great. Love it on pinto beans. Planning to do salsa, too.
Thank you for showing me a new way to make jelly. I am going to try apple jelly. I love it on French Toast.
Crazy you just turned my Alexa timer on!!😂
That's great. That cut out alot of work. I love BlackBerry jelly. I will have to see if they have that juice. Thanks Leslie!
Never made this with purple grape juice cause I always had access to fresh Concorde grapes but I did do this with white grape juice and it was delucious
Leslie you started my Alexa ⏲ 😆 I never known that you can make Jelly from store bought juice 😲 Thanks for sharing and God Bless 🙏😊
Love your outfit and hair today you look so pretty today.
Thank you
Awesome video, Leslie! That jelly looks so delicious! Thank you for sharing this. It is nice that we city slickers can make it as well lol That looks like a really tasty way to have sausage, toast, and jelly! I love you Leslie and family. God bless you all! 🤗❤️🙏🏻
You are so welcome!
@@TheFarmingPastorsWife 🤗❤️🥰
Going to do this. Because we go through so much grape jelly it's not funny. Can you do orange jelly like this the same way.please let me know. Love you guys
Going to try canning this grape jelly . Thanks for sharing . Love your videos ❤
You are so welcome!
I love grape jelly on my sausage biscuits, too. I'm getting into canning and plan to make jelly....you made it look easy, thanks!
You can do it!
I will be making this!!!!♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
Love, love, simple recipes. The simpler, the more satisfying for me to make. And it looks delicious. Are those pint jars or half pint jars?
Pint or half pint?
Thanks for sharing this!!♥️
You have inspired me to try this jelly! This would make lovely Christmas gifts ! Do you think you can do it with other flavored juice?
Thank you for sharing
Yes!
I made some grape jelly from juice the other week and also some strawberry/kiwi jelly from the juice as well. I tried looking for a recipe for the strawberry / kiwi and couldn’t find anything on it so I just followed the recipe for the surejell apple juice and it was so good.
Love watching your videos and your food looks so good. Thank you for sharing your family and your life with us. God bless y’all.
Loved this video! The way I used to can my jellies
When I lived in Mobile, Alabama I made strawberry preserves with figs and strawberry jello. You couldn't tell the difference. Do you have fig trees near you? I wish I could find them in the store here in Indiana. You jelly looks so easy and good. God bless!!!!
I used the frozen concentrate juice to make jelly. After I wash my jars, I put them in 9x13 cake pans with a little water and set my temperature at 250 deg. Leave in there untill your ready to fill.
I must try that jelly.
This is how I always make jelly. Even with pineapple juice and apple juice.
Thanks I was going to make this I will do it like you did yours. Great timing ♥️♥️♥️
I’ve got to try this. It looks delicious and pretty easy!
Before anyone gives you grief about putting butter in the jelly... the USDA canning cookbook actually says to put butter in jams and jellies to reduce foaming.
It also has jelly recipes for making with unsweetened store bought juices
Looks so good.
WOW 😮 7 cups of Sugar 🙃😲😯😮 Who knew ?!!!!
My husband is in shock 😆
I bought the pink colored box of 'Sure-Jell for less or no sugar added' and the instruction says to use 5 1/2 cups juice and 3 cups sugar to make 7 cups!
The instructions came inside the pink Sure-Jell box!
@@rosedolch8637 oh ok we miss understood 😁❤️😍😱
@@rosedolch8637 it looks so Delicious I shared it with all my friends and family
Leslie I was always taught to spoon the foam off
Yes if you have alot of foam you need to spoon it off. The butter helped me in not having much so I didn't have to spoon much off.
This is my first year of canning anything. The last thing I canned was blueberry syrup and jelly from juice. I loved skipping that straining step.
I can taste it now.😉☺️
You can also use the "Juicy Jucie " juice all the different flavors... Possibilities are endless.
Watching the video….Alexa set my timer for one minute😂😂😂😂
That looks so easy I used to help my Aunt prep food for canning but never really watched her do the actual canning I have been wanting too can but I’m one who’s kind of scared too what’s the difference when making grape jam I love jam
Thank you for showing how to do this….I’ve been wanting to make this and wasn’t sure how!!!! I love you pig plates. Where did you find them? Love your show and love that you show how to make thinks the easy or short cut way!!! You look so beautiful!❤️💜❤️
A friend of mine gave those to me!
Do you ever make freezer jam? I agree, whether it's cheaper or not, homemade is better than store bought. Did I miss it? Did you double the recipe? I'm curious about the two boxes of Sure Jell.
Love your channel! What are you using to record your video’s with they look so clear I use my iPhone for our videos but having trouble getting them clear ? Thanks for your time
Hey there, I looked at your channel and your videos are clear and good! When my channel started growing a few years back I researched what was the best cell phone, with the best camera, and at the time it was a Samsung galaxy X21. That is what I use and it does a great job! You have done well to get to the 4,000 viewer level as it is hard and it does take time, persistence, and patience! Congratulations and keep up the great work! Catchy titles, catchy thumb nails and things like that help get you into the youtube algorithm and that was what helped my channel!
Thanks so much for the information ! I’m trying to learn ways to make it look better 😊 I’m going to look up that phone. And thanks again for your time.
