I am so excited. I made my first apple butter. 65 year olds and my first. I had a few apples left from a bag and nobody was eating them so I peeled them and put then in a small cooker, added the spices and now I have apple butter. Next thing I'm gonna try is canning using my insta pot. Falon on Moss did that. We transistioned to an RV a couple of years ago so I don't have alot of room for big pot and things so that would work well for me. Have a blessed Sunday. God is good!
I saw all of this as a child with my grandmothers, but of course I wasn't going to go to this much work if I could just go to the store and buy it. Now I realize I can control the quantity and quality of ingredients if I will take the time and make the effort. Thank you for showing us this process.
Happy FriYAY Eve friend. Hope everyone is doing well and having a wonderful day. Yumm, love apple butter. My late grandmother use to make apple butter pork chops. So delicious.
Leslie your hair looked so good while you was making the applebutter. Leaving the peels on and using the food mill would be a lot easier on your hand than peeling all the apples. I have made a lot of tomato juice using the food mill but I have always peel and cut for the applebutter. Yes, butter biscuits, applebutter topped with bacon so good.
I love apple butter. Haven’t eaten any in a long time. I think I will try to make it. Will probably cheat with the store bought jar but I’m going to make it in the crockpot. ❤️
Hi Leslie. I’ve never been a fan of apple butter, but I found a recipe for caramel apple butter, which sounded good so I decided to can some for Christmas gifts. Boy was that a lot of work peeling all those apples (I may invest in a food mill in the future), but it was worth it. It was so delicious. However, it didn’t make very much for all the work I put into it. Next time I will have to double the recipe, but I think I’ll try your recipe using store bought applesauce, too. I really am all about simplicity in my old age.
New subscriber! I’m a few minutes into this video and I love listening to you talk! ❤ I know how to make apple butter and it’s a favorite but I love seeing other people’s recipes. Glad I found you! God bless y’all’
This was amazing. I love it. I have never canned. I am scared to try. I’m afraid that the jars will break. I love watching you make this It was so relaxing. Looks so delicious. Thank you so much for sharing this recipe. God Bless ❤
Awesome video, Leslie! Thank you for sharing this! I love apple butter, so did my Mom and my grandmother. We never made it ourselves. We used to buy it from this famous country restaurant up here in Maryland. Or we would eat it at this Pennsylvania Dutch restaurant. They brought you freshly baked bread and their homemade apple butter. We used to go crazy when they brought it out lol I really enjoyed watching you make this, Leslie! I had no idea of all the steps, it is lovely! Oh my goodness, I know it is so delicious! I love you guys, God bless you all. 🤗❤️🙏🏻
“I’m eating apple butter. Do I really care about the minerals and vitamins?” 🤣 DON’T COME FOR ME LIKE THAT! I feel so attacked and seen all at the same time. 😂😂😂😂. You have a beautiful spirit. Definitely subscribed. 😁
Amen Leslie what a GREAT MESSAGE YOU GO GIRL ANYTIME U FEEL IT LET IT RIP. I’m sure you touched many and are making a difference. Love your channel and your family. In GODS LOVE
Never had fried cabbage .. watched you make it recently and thought… Humm . I loved corned beef and cabbage so why not? Had to pick up some bacon as I am sure that adds! I Made myself some and eating it right now! Not like anything else I ever recall eating but certainly tastes like a keeper recipe. Thanks!
New subscriber!! Sent by Chef Jeffrey of Old School Soul Food to help you reach 100K subscribers!! Perfect setup, I've been wanting to make apple butter!!!
Someone on another video suggested using a flour sack towel to put over the crockpot & then place lid on top of that to cook down quicker. They said moisture goes into the towel. I haven’t made apple butter yet but I think I’ll try it out when i do.
Really enjoyed this video, as I do all of them. Thank you. I know some of the churches here use apple sauce to make their apple butter and it is delicious. You have made me hungry for some apple butter. 🙂 I was wondering have you ever done anything with rhubarb? Anxiously awaiting for the next video. 🙂
The peelings have a natural pectin which thickens it, so I leave mine on also. Looks good! I use to buy many boxes of apples each year and dehydrate, can, etc Those days were fun!
Leslie, learning to can has been on my list of this gs to learn this coming year. At 60 it’s never to early to learn something new right? LOL 😀 Where is the best place to get canning supplies? I like in Indiana. Tractor supply store? Meijer, Walmart? I may check my local goodwill or even Craigslist. Wish me luck. Thanks for the tutorial.💕
I absolutely love making and eating apple butter ! Thank you for sharing this recipe for apple butter and apple cider vinegar. I've never used a crock pot when making apple butter._ Stay happy, healthy, hydrated and safe. May God continue to bless you, your family and your adventures.
I would of like to see how you place the jars in your pot. Did you stack them on top of each other? You had a lot of jars and I was just wondering if the the jars should touch the other jars.
Back in the day the Ritz cracker boxes had a recipe for what was called “Mock Apple Pie”. I never made it, but the filling contained Ritz crackers. So when you said you’d show us how to make applesauce without apples, I thought you’d be using crackers! 🤣🤣
Glad u mentioned Immersion blender with peels on and cooked. I've been making it this way for years. You have a great way of teaching. It's 4am and my crock pot full since 6pm. Hello and thanks from Beautiful Southern Iowa 8/13/24
I bet your house smells wonderful !! (and I wish I were your neighbor so we could share some with coffee!! Id bring the biscuits!! 🙂) Thanks for sharing
I don’t know much about RUclips. I watch you all the time but don’t leave comments. Does leaving comments help your channel? If it does I will start leaving them. BTW you was right about the caramel pecan coffee. I went back and bought 4 boxes. Hope it isn’t a seasonal thing. ❤️❤️❤️
I would have get my apples from a market and since they are usually sprayed with wax, I would have to peel them. I assume the ones you got from the orchard were not sprayed w/wax to preserve them longer so no peeling needed. What do you think?
I use apple butter in barbecue sauce. A little adds another layer of undetectable goodness to it.
My favorite way to eat apple butter is on buttered rye toast! When I was in college in VA I had that for breakfast every morning! 1980-1982.

Thank you, loved this longer video! My friend's mother used to can & I wish I paid more attention, valuable skill in these times.
I never thought to make apple butter from store-bought applesauce! 😄

We make it with sliced, peeled apples in crockpot, low over 2 days. It needs no sugar, just a whisking to puree. The natural sugars reduce it so much.

I absolutely love making and eating apple butter !
Thank you for sharing this recipe for apple butter and apple cider vinegar.

Stay happy, healthy, hydrated and safe. May God continue to bless you, your family and your adventures.

YUM! Have you ever made persimmon butter...it's really good too!
I never have but I hear it's good
Just got 🍏 apples 🍎 yesterday going to make mine in the morning thanks
Cinnamon rolls with apple butter filling. Yummy
your applebutter looks great! Thanks for the idea of using apple sauce
Sounds so easy and wonderful!
I would of like to see how you place the jars in your pot. Did you stack them on top of each other? You had a lot of jars and I was just wondering if the the jars should touch the other jars.
The apple butter looks so good!
Bama used to do Apple butter but they stopped and we have never found any that tasted as good. I wish they would come back.

AWESOME VIDEO LESLIE ♥️♥️
My mom and I used to make ours in the oven in a turkey roaster
What if you use brown sugar instead of sugar will it be richer
Yes it probably would be
Yes if you want it sweeter.
I’m thinking using all brown sugar might make it too sweet? Maybe use 1/2 brown, 1/2 white sugar.
Brown sugar is sweeter with a hint of molasses flavor, especially if dark
Glad u mentioned Immersion blender with peels on and cooked. I've been making it this way for years. You have a great way of teaching. It's 4am and my crock pot full since 6pm. Hello and thanks from Beautiful Southern Iowa 8/13/24
My mother always said the skins have the most vitamins!
Is that an old Club Aluminum pot? (The yellow one).....my mom had a set.....wish I still had them.
Yes it is!
During your introduction you show a pecan pie. Have you ever made that pecan pie during one of your videos? I sure would love to see you make it.
I peel and core my apples I make applesauce then pour it in my turkey roaster and bake at 300 stirring every 1:2 hour when it is the desired thickened
Leslie, I don't like cloves, can I leave them out and just the cinnamon and allspice in the apple butter?
Yummy! I love apple butter!
I bet your house smells wonderful !! (and I wish I were your neighbor so we could share some with coffee!! Id bring the biscuits!! 🙂) Thanks for sharing
That would be wonderful
Hi Leslie! Love watching your videos, but could you lower you camera so we can see the bowl, jar, or whatever. Thanks!
Great Job!!!
You are HIRED! Excellent!
Looks delicious!!!!
We always left the peeling on too. 😉
Can you tell me what apples not to use for apple butter? Thanks. I think I am gonna try to make some.
Did you add additional 2 cups of sugar because of the extra unsweetened applesauce you put in? Or do add the additional 2 cups of sugar regardless?
Could I use just one jar of applesauce to make a smaller batch of apple butter?
Yes... You will just need to change your measurements
What’s the purpose of home made if you have to use store bought?
Yes yes yes!!!
Way too much talking but the the heart of the canning and cooking is a good method ❤
That's just how I am.
Yummy 😋

So glad you enjoyed that coffee I love it too. Interaction helps but if you're not comfortable I totally understand
@@TheFarmingPastorsWife, I just subscribed today, can you tell me info on caramel pecan coffee? I'd love to get some too!
Does anyone know where to purchase the tool to open the lids? Thanks on advance
How would you use the cinnamon candy instead of the spices? My mom used to make it that way but can’t find her recipe for it.
P.s. can you freeze this instead of canning?
Can use sugar applesauce
Can I make it without so much sugar?
YUM!
You ever make apple Jelly?
Yes I made them this week
Love apple butter but I thought you’d add butter ????? I guess not ??
What kind of apples are you using?
I used winesap and brayburn
Nice Lady!!?!

Enjoyed your video and making applesauce doesn't look too difficult to make
I'm sure your house smells like fall.
👍😘♥️♥️♥️🍎🍏🍎🍏
Store bought apple sauce is very expensive.
Yes it is that's why I try to always make my own.
A bit too much talking….
So mute it if you don't like.
