Nah, you're not alone. They have more chemistry than North and Markus do. Like if you go violent, if Markus gets damaged, if you are with North, she gives you a choice, whether or not you take her heart. If you aren't with North, but Simon is your friend, he just gives you his heart, without a choice. That really shows how much he cares ;-; Also, if Simon gets left behind in the Stratford tower mission, if Connor doesn't find him, he comes back to Jericho and he and Markus share a big, comfy hug. :') (PS: Just watch that scene, and look at how comfy Simon is)
NoName ༄ ; Can we talk about how Simon just rips his heart out and put it inside Markus?? As opposed to Markus/North scene where Markus is the one who takes out North's heart from her, Simon just does it himself, because this decision is his and his alone. Markus has no say in it. Can you imagine pulling out your beloved's vital organ for your own gain? The guilt would kill me.
I'm wondering how many people went violent to please her............ I mean I went violent but not because of her ramblings of "violence is the only answer" mahogany
Wish choosing to side with North, Josh, or Simon could lead to three very different outcomes regardless of romance (but can still romance them if you choose to.)
I think it's kind of funny that I actually managed to connect with North on my first playthrough North May wanna be violence but she's very sensitive about her past and is thankful when you try to make her comfortable talking about it

... I do. But more in a theory not what we got. I mean I know these actors broke up so it was probably hard to film much chemistry between them but I do like the idea of Markus showing north the good in people and her keeping him safe from the more manipulative politicians after the game. They could probably balance each other out. Also Simon died in my first play though so I didn't really get to see much of him
No, the fandom still cares for Markus and North. We’re just annoyed with how they portrayed their relationship. She and Markus balance each other out, plus Markus knows she has suffered at the hands of humans. He soothes her pain. As much as I like Simon, I’m glad North ended up with Markus. I just wish we had seen some sort of relationship build-up or some flirting from them. They’re a badass couple tho.

North's backstory was absolutely pathetic imo, she was handled really bad as a character. I hope one day we get to see why it seems all she wants to do is murder people but I doubt we ever will...
This is the only time that the game humanised North as a PTSD survivor and rape survivor. Other times, the narrative just treats her as just another angry asshole.

Words can never truly share an experience. How amazing would it be to share experiences like this with others. Share the emotion and the feelings of the moment.
It's amazing that you can go full on pacifist and you still end up romancing her. It's laughable honestly! This game is amazing, but the romance was poor. A group of 4, 1 is a woman, who in my opinion was the most unlikable, is always partnered up with Markus on missions because fuck, why the hell not!? I can sympathize her about her past, but what she's essentially become is a racist and murderer. Markus has said time and time again (canon Markus is nice, so I'm assuming you played him as such) that killing and violence is bad. Why would I ever want to romance a character like her? She wanted to murder Simon in cold blood, like fuck off with that, he's one of us. Too bad I went to the roof and got him killed anyway... *sigh* Simon deserved better (more about him later). The way things were going, I had suspicions that the romance was coming, but I was expecting a legit choice, a "yes" or "no", not some hand connecting bullshit and some memory sharing. She was also uncomfortable in revealing her past, and while I don't like North, I can totally understand her reason why. There's a video on RUclips that points out actually that pressuring someone about their traumatic past is not the way to go about romance, and while Markus doesn't exactly pressure her in a horrible way, he does push her to reveal it, but it's her business honestly. Anyway, Simon. Simon is lovely. He's not 100% pacifist, but I can respect that being peaceful all the time just won't cut it. North just wants to watch the world burn. But Simon wants whatever Markus wants. You ever notice that with North and Josh, your relationship with them is always going up and down, but Simon's doesn't move half the time? He has his own opinions, but he doesn't voice them that often unless it's about safety. He's a runner. It's why, as a leader of Jericho, he remained hidden away with his people, waiting to die out. Markus called him out on this, and essentially overtook Simon as leader. And Simon let him. If Simon is left on the roof and survives, the two reunite, sharing some looks and a heartwarming hug. This by the way takes place immediately after North leaves Markus after sharing those memories that clearly made her uncomfortable, and yet... she just became Markus' lover. Didn't seem very loving to me, it looked more like they'd just had a fall out. It's so fucking bad... Simon was suppose to be a potential love interest too, which explains the unrequited love from Simon's side (the guy clearly loves Markus, it's impossible to not see it), and why Simon shares many parallels with North (in both dialogue and scenes). It makes me sad... a Markus/Simon option would've been nice at least. Have North romance-able during the violent path, sure, that would work, but otherwise, no.
No doubt she must have. That's no reason to want to kill the entire human race. The blue haired Traci defended herself when she was attacked, but she even said she didn't mean to kill him. I don't know enough of North's background and if she experienced worse than the blue haired Traci (even if she didn't, every experience is different and she's allowed to feel pain, even if someone has it worse), but... I just find her character non-likeable. She's somewhat like a villain in my eyes.
Simon isn't a complete pasifist, he's a realist and I respect the hell outta that but I do think it'd be better if after romancing north Markus actually starts to show her that violence isn't the answer and humans aren't all bad like Carl. ((honestly I think if anyone could have been used for north it'd be Connor, they're both fairly violent regardless of how you play Connor always uses force at least once if not flat out murder and he's been abused a lot too, even the voice inside his head was dehumanizing and his only possible friend Hank was violent and demeaning towards him too. Not to mention he has shared memories with multiple tracis and although that doesn't really count as first hand experience it kinds seems like it's more meaningful than Markus' little pep talk and shared memories. Not to mention that Connor wants to be a hero and north is looking for a hero. Although again there are still flaws there because despite both of them being violent and mistreated by humans they still don't have a lot of similar beliefs, Connor can become friends with Hank, and officer Wilson so he does have empathy for humans and can form connections to them while north is extremely jaded and won't go near them but at least Connor is a negotiator he could probably keep her more reigned in than Markus. (I would say north might have a hard time trusting him but she actually doesn't if it's only her and Connor left) they've more in common than North and Markus, as well as the fact that both of them could be hated/unliked in Jericho after the game. But it's still a stretch so it kinda seems like no one really should romance north, she has to work out some of her issues first.))
In the end north is a bitch, and markus deserve better, or just to stay alone, it's better than to live with north. The only thing north did good was when she gave her heart for markus
If you go full pacifist, Simon is the perfect romantic interest for Markus. If you go full violence, North is the perfect romantic interest for Markus. They literally have no chemistry at all during full pacifist playthrough. 😑
I think that Simon, Josh, and North should've all been options, but Josh in the pacifist route, North in the violent route, and Simon should've maybe been an option in both, maybe with more options in the pacifist route. I ship Markus and Simon as I think they have way more chemistry, plus it seems that Simon likes Markus, especially in the pacifist route. It just makes more sense than North, even Josh would've made more sense than North lol.
50% of the comments here: "Markus and North were forced *and* rushed!" "Why wasn't Simon a romance option!?" The other 50%: "North's mixed signals are so needlessly complicated... Wait this depicts irl women too-"
In my first playthrough I ditched North, even though I took the violent route and she was like my best buddy. (but ended up dying, because my fucking PC froze at important QTE so I missed them e_e, everyone died the first time I played). In my second, peaceful, playthrough I accidentally romanced her xD After this scene played and she was my "lover" now I was like "oh Shit, I didn't want that xD" but ok xD I don't know why, but I don't really like North. She could have been something cool, but yeah ... it is what it is.
Mah Boi Has Returned well for starters, for a sex robot she's pretty damn ugly. But on a more serious note, she doesn't really DO anything other than say "murder, destroy, kill" I mean in that TV station break in what did she ACTUALLY do? Markus cut both windows, did his own climbing. She just appeared in a uniform to follow him. He could have gone alone, and it'd end the same. She also does back-asswards shit like "I don't wanna talk about it." Then when Markus lets off, the relationship goes DOWN??? HE DID WHAT YOU WANT, YOU ABSOLUTE NUMPTY! Sure, Josh doesn't do a LOT either, but he's not an annoying shit either... -_-
So interesting seeing all versions of the rooftop conversation, thank you! When Amelia burnt down Cyberlife during the Decharts' livestream, it showed that she was among 0% of players to have done that, and it's so badass. North gets such disproportionate amount of hate, jeeze, she still follows Markus' lead and instructions if he chooses pacifism despite her cynicism, she's not unreasonable.
So? In that situation she's the leader, she calls the shots. I don't fault either Markus or North for choosing revolution rather than demonstration, they're trying to save the androids in the camps that are being disassembled alive, the violence is warranted.
Traveller in the Dark well my point was that she’s Markus’ lover and... if you try to be a pacifist, and put in work to be a pacifist, then when North starts her period and fucks everything, it’s kind of undoing all of Markus’ work. Sure, she has every RIGHT to, but it’s just rude, cosidering Markus was her LOVER...
Cracks about women on their periods are super boring, just so you know. Even more eyeroll-worthy when we're talking about an android. Storytelling and character-wise, it actually makes perfect sense for North to seek revenge on humans after Markus' death. His death would only prove that the pacifist approach doesn't work, and North would see it as honouring Markus to achieve his ultimate goal (freedom for androids), even if it's via a different method.
Traveller in the Dark cracks about women on theirperiod are true tho... But you do make a good point that she'd want revenge. Still she's a bitch even when Markus is alive tho so like... I still don't like her?
Was North the Android that escaped Connor? She strangled someone and ran away with the blue one, right? I also think the Connor chapter was after this but the similarities.
North ran away months before the game. When playing as Connor in Waiting for Hank, you can find her case report on Connor's files and she mentioned by the manager in the Eden Club if Hank talks to him
Falando sério, existe mesmo pessoas que não gostam da North? Lembrando, uma coisa é não aprovar as ações dela, mas odiá-la por isso? Depois de tudo o que ela fora forçada a passar?
Am I the only one who loves North here? I understand her hatred for humans because the humans in this game [Even in real life tbh] are so violent for no reason, even if you choose the peaceful route. And besides, we don't even know her full backstory, she was probably abused & who knows what she saw back at the Eden Club.
I prefer North over Simon and Josh. Josh has much more complex than North for no reason. Simon has no chemistry with Markus. They are just friends. North has cool personality. Nice voice and I like how she dress up during the game. She is better than Kara and I can tell she clearly needs love in her life. I simply like girls like her and gonna be honest people who hates her are pathetic.
I don't like North or hate her But the relationship between North and Markus feels superficial to me because my first experience with the game was the pacifist ending and it seemed like one of those moments where people are together for the sake of it. I feel like it could have worked but it didn't. I mean, we see the way they manage to show Simon and Markus' relationship (and the leavings of what would have been if they hadn't cut out his route) in a few key moments, so why not North? I love her fire though, a very powerful spirit, like, I definitely believe she could take the humans down with her methods and her fury. She just needed more depth.
David Cage is such a genius writer and director as well. The moment Markus chooses to listen to what North proposes to do will lead to disaster and chaos. This is actually implemented in real life where man as a full-fledged person, is the one who has to redirect the woman, or else things may end up improbably. Not because women are stupid but because women are overwhelmed with passion.

Am I the only one that ships Markus and Simon ;-;
I’m That one Detroit become human fan as brothers
Simon my man!
I'm here for you bro
Nah, you're not alone. They have more chemistry than North and Markus do. Like if you go violent, if Markus gets damaged, if you are with North, she gives you a choice, whether or not you take her heart. If you aren't with North, but Simon is your friend, he just gives you his heart, without a choice. That really shows how much he cares ;-;
Also, if Simon gets left behind in the Stratford tower mission, if Connor doesn't find him, he comes back to Jericho and he and Markus share a big, comfy hug.
Hey Joji i’m pretty sure most people that played dbh went pacifist.
Monochromatic interesting I didn't see the percentages for the differences but I'll take your word for it
You can be her lover even if you're not violent tho
I wouldn't say many did. I like her and I still didn't.

Wish choosing to side with North, Josh, or Simon could lead to three very different outcomes regardless of romance (but can still romance them if you choose to.)

I think it's kind of funny that I actually managed to connect with North on my first playthrough North May wanna be violence but she's very sensitive about her past and is thankful when you try to make her comfortable talking about it
North: I told you I don't want to talk about it
Markus: OK
North: *V*
In conclusion: *Simon would make a better partner* smh
Exactly. I love Simon and how supportive he is.
Most people who end up in a romance with North just wanted to be friendly. I was curious about her past and got locked into being lovers with her. It was accidental, and even if you do everything to make her hate you afterwards, she doesn't. You can't get out unless she fucking dies.

More proof that Markus should've been able to romance Simon instead of North. I don't think anyone even cares about North and Markus as a couple.
Ppl do, and I think both would've been good. You should've been able to choose or something. I don't think that would stop ppl from fighting though.
@@Nirrini Right. Some people who end up in a romance with North just wanted to be friendly. I was curious about her past and got locked into being lovers with her. It was accidental, and even if you do everything to make her hate you afterwards, she doesn't.
If you really dig for some Simon scenes then they're very endearing and I believe he was supposed to be a candidate as Markus' love interest.
@@Nazinsky The “take my heart because we are compatible” scene was very endearing indeed.
But I’m personally more interested in enemies to lovers type of relationships.
Which is why I love North x Markus so much and also RK1K (Connor x Markus).

I never even had that north and markus scene in my playthrough, or any type of romantic relationship between them. Even with them both surviving.

10:10 Markus becomes Pinocchio in HD.
Nahhh
My reaction at the end - HA-HAAA (Nelson laught)
Bandi but probably she must've seen bad humams right.... Some guy killed traci in eden club remember .... Slaved...
This. Preach this.
In the end north is a bitch, and markus deserve better, or just to stay alone, it's better than to live with north. The only thing north did good was when she gave her heart for markus
Robo Jesus Rejecting his Robo Girlfriend.....

If you go full pacifist, Simon is the perfect romantic interest for Markus.
If you go full violence, North is the perfect romantic interest for Markus.
They literally have no chemistry at all during full pacifist playthrough. 😑
It makes me sad that Simon isn't a romanceable option in a game literally about choices.

North is such a dead weight character. Such a Waste.
Stephanie Lovat why's that?
Mah Boi Has Returned well for starters, for a sex robot she's pretty damn ugly.
But on a more serious note, she doesn't really DO anything other than say "murder, destroy, kill" I mean in that TV station break in what did she ACTUALLY do? Markus cut both windows, did his own climbing. She just appeared in a uniform to follow him. He could have gone alone, and it'd end the same.

Traveller in the Dark but if Markus dies she takes over and makes everything violent anyways...
They were both companion when she rejected him and when he loved him

This is just a reprisal of the romance in Heavy Rain, it's just as cringe worthy.
Detroit Become Human is kind of educational. I watch it, so I don’t screw up my conversations with a girl or any humans in general
Was North the Android that escaped Connor? She strangled someone and ran away with the blue one, right?
I also think the Connor chapter was after this but the similarities.
North ran away months before the game. When playing as Connor in Waiting for Hank, you can find her case report on Connor's files and she mentioned by the manager in the Eden Club if Hank talks to him
That's a short haired Traci!
Falando sério, existe mesmo pessoas que não gostam da North? Lembrando, uma coisa é não aprovar as ações dela, mas odiá-la por isso? Depois de tudo o que ela fora forçada a passar?

I understand her hatred for humans because
the humans in this game [Even in real life tbh] are so violent for no reason, even if you choose the peaceful route.
And besides, we don't even know her full backstory, she was probably abused & who knows what she saw back at the Eden Club.

I simply like girls like her and gonna be honest people who hates her are pathetic.

But the relationship between North and Markus feels superficial to me because my first experience with the game was the pacifist ending and it seemed like one of those moments where people are together for the sake of it.
