I love the difference. Throughout the entire game, whenever Connor talks about Hanks problems he sounds very disconnected. He says very insensitive things because he doesn't understand. But when he turns deviant it's almost like, all of a sudden, he completely understands what Hank was feeling. And he cares enough to reassure him that what happened wasn't his fault. To be honest... locking him in as a machine after Markus fails was too rigid, this was a good moment for the last chance for redemption for Connor, because Hank is someone who is that big of an influence on him.
There is one other chance technically though. At the end of the game if Markus succeeds and has his speech at the end, machine Connor will be in the crowd and will pull a gun, but you are then given the choice to "shoot" or "don't shoot" picking "don't shoot" gets you the whole "emergency exit" sequence. I also realize now that by deviating after Hank talks to him would take away from Connor's agency, as if Hank turned him deviant and ultimately Connor didn't choose this himself. @@ThePlatineist I get what you mean, but I see it as either Markus gives him that last push to decide or Hank does. Also I don't think it would be cowardly because the idea of becoming your own master and defying your creators, going from constantly having orders and being told what to do, to suddenly not having any of that and facing the unknown future would be terrifying. @@Donika691 Yeah I know it's just a push, but he likes Hank and is neutral at best towards Markus, that changes things significantly. After years since playing the game here I am thinking that yet again I missed a scenario. I honestly thought this was a scenario in the game until the very end kind of gave it away. Still that goes to show how seamlessly the idea of Hank turning Connor deviant was. It should have been in the game originally that's for sure.
I have a deep feeling that this was supposed to be canon, mark may be the omni potent machine god and all but Connor wouldn't have been easily convinced if his mission was to kill mark in the first place, it'd be contradicting with his program which is preventing him from turning deviant. If anyone would have the chance to turn him into a deviant it'd Hank, whose the only person he ever trusts and likes.
(Spoilers) Biggest storytelling mistakes in this game (which is still worth playing just for Connor and Hank, who are an amazing pair): 1. Not having Hank be the one to convince Connor to go deviant rather than Markus, who Connor met five seconds earlier 2. Having Alice be an android--this felt very much like the ending of Shrek, which is not a good thing 3. Abandoning the Markus/Carl relationship in favor of a civil right story that takes place start-to-finish in a week
Sadly, the option to be a machine means that Hank will always perish before this scene. They needed you on the dev team, because this scene feels necessary to the list of outcomes 🔥
dude i was so invested haha. For a real fat second, i thought this was apart of the game. And tbh, it was so emotional and heart reaching to say the least. As they were fighting, Conor was also fighting an internal war between his programming and his true AI. Conor doesn’t want to kill Hank and and i love the flashback added in there to show Conor’s true AI. Man if only it ended with Conor on the floor after saving Hank and crying or even feeling horrible for what he has done.
I feel like this should have been real. Another change I would have made would be, at this point in the game, Conner could warn Hank about the dirty bomb in the city. Maybe it was planted there by Cyberlife trying to encourage a war between humans and androids and Markus and co. just happened to fall into their trap of believing they stole it, but in reality they were _allowed_ to steal it. Hank and Conner could rush off to disarm it instead of heading to Cyberlife as it's too late for Conner to join the revolution. They go to disarm it and Conner can make the choice to disarm it, having consequences for Markus if he decides to use the dirty bomb. Or set it off, having consequences for Markus if they weren't going to set it off. Gives them something to do and ups the variety of story branches rather than: If he's a deviant, Conner either always goes to cyberlife or he's dead.
2:09- 2:23 If Connor knew that a human actually cared for him, especially a human he already cared for as well, he'd realize he would be free and protected from deactivation. He only refused to turn deviant because he was scared to do it alone.
the fact that this is a fan edit and not actually canon feels like it should be a crime- this genuinely had me on the edge of my seat and i was SO damn invested in it i'd genuinely thought it was an option in cannon that i'd just somehow never heard about this was honestly amazing and such a cool idea, I'm so glad you made it, amazing work. time to think about nothing but this for the rest of my life

It never felt right that Markus, a character Connor has literally had no interaction with, can make Connor deviate in one conversation. Yes, I know Markus is supposed to be robojesus or whatever but still, one conversation? Hank should've been the one who helped Connor to deviate. I honestly expected Hank to be able to deviate Connor when the case gets taken away from them, like some sort of special interaction.
Just noticing that the parts where you dont do the QTEs fit perfectly with the scene that you're portraying. Hank landing hits whenever Connor is trying to break free of his programming. Genius
This was soooo good. Connor's story has actually become bland when he turned into a deviant in Jericho :( this sequence felt climactic for Connor, it made his conversion into deviancy more memorable
I have a feeling this (Hank turning Connor Deviant, possibly in this scene or at least a version of this scene) was one of the possible routes that Quantic Dream planned on making but didnt have time, like romance with Simon was originally an option but got cut (if i remember correctly that was stated in a Q&A on reddit with David Cage). I do believe this would’ve been an awesome scene, and possibly wouldve been an option should Markus die and Connor be given the chance to lead Jericho (Which i believe was also going to be an option but was cut). I wish there was more Markus and Connor interactions and more lore as to why they’re both the same series/model/whatever (RK). Anywho im 100% sure that Hank convincing Connor was originally an option, or was planned, but got cut for some reason or another. Still wish it was in snd looking back i wouldve waited for it even if it took them longer to do so.
I forgot this was a video game... it is so well made and the graphics look too real!! It’s crazy what the future of gaming is gonna look like if this is what we have now
Connor going against his programming to save Hank from getting killed, prevent him from committing suicide, or even to spare Chloe would've all made more sense than Markus talk no jutsu-ing him into it.
This should have been a possibility. Hank should have had the chance to turn Connor deviant. I mean, Connor had never even met Markus, so it just felt kinda awkward. This would have been more fitting.
This is damn good. Having Hank turn Connor deviant would have been a much better path and choice rather than Markus. Due to the strong emotional bond that forms slowly between Hank and Connor (if friends), Hank has a much stronger influence on Connor. If this was included in the game it would have been a lot better. Great job
I think they should’ve absolutely given you the opportunity to deviate with Hank. You could make the earlier chapter called “Find Jericho” and rename this one to “Last Chance, Connor” because it’s your final chance to change the fate route of your story
I legit thought this was real at first until I looked at the comments. All I was thinking was, I wish I had this ending the first time. And then I was just astonished by the OST mixing they did for the scene, especially when Connor saved Hank using Connor’s motif but using lighter sounds. But then I realized one guy mixed this and all I gotta say is bravo

I was really confused on how I had never seen this before
But then I realized it was an edit..
Wish this was an actual option, cool edit
this is an edit but what many people don´t know is that if you relationship and system instability are max you still can just walk away from the fight
(Spoilers) Biggest storytelling mistakes in this game (which is still worth playing just for Connor and Hank, who are an amazing pair):
1. Not having Hank be the one to convince Connor to go deviant rather than Markus, who Connor met five seconds earlier
2. Having Alice be an android--this felt very much like the ending of Shrek, which is not a good thing
3. Abandoning the Markus/Carl relationship in favor of a civil right story that takes place start-to-finish in a week
Huh? The Markus/Carl relationship isn't abandoned lol...if anything Markus leads the revolution because of carl
Sadly, the option to be a machine means that
Hank will always perish before this scene.
They needed you on the dev team, because this scene feels
necessary to the list of outcomes 🔥
This scene is in the game, they just edited it. Hank comes up to talk to you if you’re friendly after staying a machine
I was playing agian to try to make Conner deviant and hank shot Conner because I messed up and now I feel like I’m not gonna be able to
Josh rules so what happened?
Bro why is it so hard to say Connor with O i see a lot of people saying "Conner"
Matija Petrović
True most of times I forget and write “Conner”
1:25 there is a double space in between “It’s” and “Best”.
Everytime I play this game, I always try to get a different ending, but then I get hit w/ the feels, so Connor always Deviates. Dangit emotions
same i cant
dude i was so invested haha.
Holyshit, you made this?!I thought this was a missing scene I just never watched before, this is so well put together
This video is super underrated
I imagine that there's some guy who somehow screwed up on opening the door.
the fact that this is a fan edit and not actually canon feels like it should be a crime- this genuinely had me on the edge of my seat and i was SO damn invested in it
i'd genuinely thought it was an option in cannon that i'd just somehow never heard about
this was honestly amazing and such a cool idea, I'm so glad you made it, amazing work.
time to think about nothing but this for the rest of my life
This would’ve been a cool way for Connor to go deviant in the story
this is an edit but what many people don´t know is that if you relationship and system instability are max you still can just walk away from the fight
@@baronbrummbar8691 Dunno if you need your Software Stability to be maxed but you need Hank to be your friend and not on the very edge because you need to lose a bit of the Friendship bar here.
@@MariusBoss11458 the firendship bar needs to be in the highes categorie ---- i don´t thing it is possible to have hank like you when you instablility is low (i know the oposit is possible where hank commits suicide even tough connor is devient)
@@baronbrummbar8691 Yeah it might not be possible because you gotta be careful.
i love how Amanda summons her inner Harvinger "Assuming Direct Control"
God I actually thought this was like a secret way to deviate Connor wow I wish Hank was someone who could push Connor to deviate.
This is way more powerful than what we got in the game. Seeing Conner's internal struggle during this scene would've been great storytelling
This seriously needed a full on remake for the next gen consoles
Just noticing that the parts where you dont do the QTEs fit perfectly with the scene that you're portraying. Hank landing hits whenever Connor is trying to break free of his programming. Genius
4:23 His voice was broken :(
😭💙
This was soooo good. Connor's story has actually become bland when he turned into a deviant in Jericho :( this sequence felt climactic for Connor, it made his conversion into deviancy more memorable
Connor: I shall assemble this gun.
Hank: I shall redeem my son.
I thought it was a real path until I looked in the desc, it looks so realistic lmao
I deleted the game right when I realized Hank wasn't the key event to Connor choice between Deviance or Machine
wait hold the PHONE. I just read the description.. this is an EDIT???
i genuinely thought this was a real scene, it looked so, natural
Humanity never learns from its mistakes hits home man so true
I actually thought this was real at first and that I had just missed it in some of the playthroughs I watched, you did a pretty good job on this!
Still wish it was in snd looking back i wouldve waited for it even if it took them longer to do so.
but doesn't Connor kind of take over if Markus is kicked out of Jericho and north takes his place?
I forgot this was a video game... it is so well made and the graphics look too real!! It’s crazy what the future of gaming is gonna look like if this is what we have now
Detroit become human was a Story telling masterpiece, this edit is an impressive addition to that.
Connor going against his programming to save Hank from getting killed, prevent him from committing suicide, or even to spare Chloe would've all made more sense than Markus talk no jutsu-ing him into it.
The only reason I become a deviant is to hug Hank in the end and avoid this scene
This scene in the game was a 10/10 in my opinion but this edit makes it a definite 20
The emotional level of this is like 5 times as big as the actual way he turned into a deviant
Mr Krabs gettin philisophical out here
Are you feeling it now Mr. Crabs
This should have been a possibility. Hank should have had the chance to turn Connor deviant. I mean, Connor had never even met Markus, so it just felt kinda awkward. This would have been more fitting.
Shit, that was good... Much better, than the official ending of the story
Awww there was so much potential here!
I actually didn’t realize this was an edit until I caught one line that sounded familiar in the end. Wow. Amazing work❤
Connor sounds so defeated when he gets control back,he seems genuinely horrified of his actions
holy shit, I actually thought this was real until I read the description, amazing job!
I watched a few of these videos now I can't stop and it's everywhere in my recommended
This is actually a really nice edit
The way that even Deviant Connor holds himself in the snowy landscapes of his "mind" as if he's cold...
Looking back, the plot of this game is essentially “you became the very thing you swore to destroy.”
I thought it was an actual path I haven't seen. It hits harder than turning by Markus...
Machine Connor talks about Cole's death in a completely different, more cold and emotionless tone. İnteresting detail
The loud music gave it away. I walmost belived it
Oh my gosh it took me till I read the comments to notice this was an edit
I remember I got this scene on my first play through.......I messed up bad everyone basically died
I have no idea how you edited this, but you did it well enough that I didn't know it was an edit until I read the description
this is an edit but what many people don´t know is that if you relationship and system instability are max you still can just walk away from the fight
I legit thought this was real at first until I looked at the comments. All I was thinking was, I wish I had this ending the first time. And then I was just astonished by the OST mixing they did for the scene, especially when Connor saved Hank using Connor’s motif but using lighter sounds. But then I realized one guy mixed this and all I gotta say is bravo
didint happen really. but it's very clean montage bro !
This is a project that I did with full transparency about it not being real and just for fun. All of that information is in the description. Thanks for watching!
Missed opportunity by Quantic. This is a fantastic edit.
SON OF A-
I THOUGHT THIS WAS A REAL ENDING FOR A MOMENT

AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH 😭😭😭😭
Bruh really hit him with the “I thought android lives matter to you”
That was well made no mistake
Wait this is an edit? Holy shit that’s incredible!

@@baronbrummbar8691 Dude. Stop. Nice to say it but it's too much.
@@MariusBoss11458 sorry that nobody reads the comments and the same question is asked 50 times within a couple days--- i only coppy and pasted that to the ones that asked the last couple weeks
@@baronbrummbar8691 I get it. It's fine.
I love how you combined two clips it actually fooled me first
The difference when he talks about Cole compared to the Deviant version. Same words, different tone. Wow.
This is so well made, omg🥺💕✨
People get mad that Markus is the one to turn him deviant, but remember, it can be worse
North can turn him deviant if Markus is dead lol
Didn't know I needed this until now
Having Hank turn Connor Deviant would be so much more appropriate to me than having Marcus convince him. This moment would've been amazing to watch happen.
There actually is a way for Connor to have a second chance at deviancy. If Hank kills him on the rooftop and you successfully finish the revolution with Markus while fighting at the big speech at the end there will be an option for Connor to shoot Markus and if he doesn't it tries to do the resume control thing.
What? No? If you die on the rooftop, a new Connor just goes into the battle zone to kill Markus...
This was edited beautifully, well done! 🖤
If there was Detroit become human dlc with more options like this I’d 100% buy that shit great edit man well done
