Vindican Well, you said it, I like Until Dawn but characters like Sam and Mike can only be killed in the last chapter, even if you fail quick time events in other situations where they are in obvious danger, the game still pushes then all the way to end
I always thought it was so weird when I still didn’t know Alice was an Android, that the news didn’t mention Kara took a child while she was on the run.
But the thing is if you go further in the story Alice can get a fever! a fever! on a machine! and also has to sleep! when kharra can stay up the whole night! she even needs a blanket! what the fuck!
@@rumblingend8443 As far as the law is concerned androids are objects you own. Just like Hanks car or a refrigerator. So a missing android child is of no concern. Alice slips up at Roses Farm. She says: "Why do Humans hate us". Kara's priority is to protect Alice, exactly as a mother would. She misses other clues. In the cold air you don't see Alice's breath & she never gets hungry tired or shivers excessively. The LED can be deactivated to perfect the illusion. Alice has probably been deviant since Todd first abused her. She wasn't a loving parent so bad. Kara is the perfect choice really. AK-500 androids can simulate human child illnesses & sleeping. It is just a timed shut-off.
Challenge Vlogs It’s not the story and dude you’re on a “what if” video for DBH. Ofc people will talk about the game. People come here to know what happens
@@Heroics64 hi hi I am very late, however, there is when Kara is cleaning the house, she finds a magazine that you only get a glimpse of, but it had Andriod children. As she looks at it her LED light turns yellow as she processes
infodroid another hint I caught on was when Alice asked Kara “why do humans hate us” and I was thinking to myself “why’d she ‘us’?” Thought maybe she was relating to hard with Kara and considered herself an Android because of her relationship with Kara... little did I know
that's the point. He didn't mention a missing child because there WAS no missing child. It was really good foreshadowing, along with him yelling "you're both mine" and Alice never seen eating on screen (she'll always say she isn't hungry, and if a character does give her food, they walk away from her and we only assume that she eats it).
this game is just insane to me, just the amount of detail put into it, they put such hard work on parts that a lot of people don’t even notice. it’s insane how a completely different story can happen that you’ll probably never see, but the actors still had to act all of that out and that whole part still needed to be created. these types of games are so cool
Cheng Teoh He didn't, he got the best ending. Connor and Hank gain brotherhood, Markus and all of his people survive and gain freedom, and Kara, Alice, and Luther make it out alive and well. He did it the best.
Ari's Place Ummm that's what dad's do, they like to joke around a lot, just because your dad says something you don't want to hear then don't take it to the heart.
I was like: OK,Playstation,I'll leave the controller on the table,I'll be careful not to touch the triggers accidentally while placing it,is that alright with you? Yeah after a while he went up,beat Alice to death, came down, said some shit and killed me as well
@@Giannopsyrras that's pretty much the quickest bad ending for Kara and Alice, still not the most depressing (you havent witnessed their evolution), and definitely not the worst one (i know, there is a worse one💀)
Honestly I used to think that the flyer with Alice on it was a porn magazine and that was why Kara looked at it stangely Btw I'm not saying Alice was on the imagined porn magazine, I'm saying I thought that it was a porn magazine unrelated to Alice. which in actuality was only a magazine of Alice.
if you read the wiki and combine it with all clues in the game on connors view then you even find out that Todd could be the bad surgeon that was too high on red ice who was replaced by an android that failed to save Hanks Son Cole because of a car accident
Enzo SGMX While that is a cool theory, it says directly in the gallery section that he was a taxi driver before self-driving cars. Then a labourer, then a few other odd jobs before selling red ice to feed his own addiction. I still think that’s cool to tho k about though!
@John Phillips i may not have a ps4 or strong computer bc of wasted money but listening to game background also gives you informationnto theories, so i did that for like combining these informations, with todd being like this now and before the informations would be a perfect prequel if thats correct
Having her as an always kid also is a hell of its own. Imagine passing by your own daughter and she sees you with a younger version of herself. And her father contemplates he'll never see his daughter grow again (the other would've left him even if she saw him). Man. You feel so lost in this life.
I know Kara Luther and Alice was a good family But I kinda wish a version where todd lives with Alice, and Kara again and Kara convince him to get of red ice (drugs)
The blue blood still need to be transported from the regulator pumps to the CPU, which I assume is in the head. Apply enough pressure and one could possibly block the flow or smth, and cause immediate shutdown. Just a thought, don't bite me. XD
Bro, I'm sooo mad about the fact that Luther is such a good character and yet he is treated like a background one ALL THE FXCKIN TIME!! Like, he sacrificed himself so Kara and Alice could escape and he's totally forgotten just a second later, like, they didn't even mentioned it to Rose. Is a escene with Kara saying "They killed Luther, Rose" while they all cry too much to ask!?
@@goldendocsonic2012 yeah but if you mess up and he died they should at least acknowledge it. I mean even Chloe cares more about Luther than Kara if he died which is weird considering that Chloe only watches the events happen and Kara actually lived with Luther.
@@Orangecatenergy the point of the game is your main 3 characters. Each of them has a choice to keep their companions alive. Kara with luther, Connor with hank and markus with an ass load of characters. Sometimes side characters are better than main characters but main focus is on the main characters. That's the point. They want you to feel 2 ways about it. They want you to choose the right choices cause if you don't you get punish for it. This is why I love quantic dream just because their sheer amount of possibilities. 1 decision mid game can change the whole outcome of the ending. Not like telltale games, which I do like some, but the are too 1 dimensional. They say that your choice matters when it clearly doesn't. Cause you will get the Same ending regardless. But quantic dream is spot on with their games. Leaving plot holes which in a video game like this is good. Because it needs to leave you thinking. It shouldn't be a movie. I'm not saying that Detroit is a perfect game, there are scenes out there that doesn't really make sense or very unnecessary like the traci one at eden club. That to me anyway was very weird and scarce for me. But the rest all great. That's why it's the closest thing to a masterpiece game in my opinion.
@@sxnflowers8039 see, I would agree but if you think about it, luther doesnt really change the story much even if he does or not. Some dialogue that will change, but hank and north have a bigger impact than luther. And I love how they have north as the violent one and josh as the pacifist and simon just does whatever markus does. It shows that girls too can have that thought of violent minds and men can have a peaceful world too. Luther is defo a favourite to a lot of players but let's face it, he doesnt have that much impact unless the decision you make with markus is to go for a revolution. And if you do go for the border then that's gonna be a bit rough. To this day, I dont even know all the endings. The possibilities are endless. David cage wont say or spoil who RA9 is because he wants the audience to ask themselves. Best quantic dream game for sure. Heavy rain comes very close though. Beyond two souls is good but quite farfetched from these 2.
So to the people who say he isnt a bad guy, hes abusive, manipulative, aggressive, so yeah hes a bad person, the mother took the daughter for a reason... silly people
Jason Darcey I do not doubt that he wanted to prove something to himself by getting an android but he was wrong and he admits it, I get that behind most monsters is a victim, but people still have to be held accountable for the actions they make because some where down the line they choose the decisions that put them where they are
Jason Darcey really cause I said he deserves to die? Jeez you're so caught up in your own little mindset to be so right, todd isnt the most unfortunate person in the world and theres plenty of other people who must have suffered the same way and been better for it, I said hes, a bad person, cause he is, I am not saying he cares about people I'm not saying hes the essence of evil I'm saying none of those things excuse the way he is, get it finally? Or do you need a map and graph to finally understand that
Jason Darcey you're an absolute waste to bother talking to, did I ever say he needs to die, no, did I say he needs to be punished, or suffer some kind of trouble fate, no, you're the idiot, I said he's a bad person cause he is, you're saying I should feel bad that a person had shitty things happen to them, and behaves as a shitty person, but I can't soooo much as say he's a bad person, cause as of right now that's all I said, he doesn't need people feeling bad for him, but you insist on trying to press the same argument and ultimately arguing with yourself over things I'm not saying, so no i'm not trying my best to talk down to you, you're simply too stupid, or too ignorant to grasp anything, you're saying things that aren't said if you bothered paying attention, I said I understand that behind most monsters is a victim but he isn't a better person for being a douche for it he's a bad one, you say a helping hand would go a long way well so do his shitty actions, you need to grow up and consider other sides of an opinion because since the start I not one said you're wrong but you're so caught up in being right when it's not black and white, get over yourself
Jason Darcey look at the first comment see how they domt claim to be right for the sake of being right they made their opinion known but not pressed, my issue with your arguement is you're saying he idnt responsible because he did drugs, yes, he is, broke who get drunk and kill someone are still responsible, they decided to do that, he at some point decided to do drugs, he doesn't get a free pass for being a druggie
Todd is still a bad person, his wife left because he started taking red ice. He would have killed his real daughter, if they continued living with him.
Pchan Calm down dude, no need to go mad like a furious gorilla on him for making an assumption on how Todd's life went. Maybe you need some rest, or you will keep on calling people random shit for no reason ._.
Fun Fact: When Alice is forced to shoot Todd, she shoots him directly in the heart. This makes sense because during the Stratford Tower chapter, if you shoot the employee running away after getting into the broadcast room, they are fatally shot with pinpoint accuracy. *[SPOILER WARNING]* Later on, it is then revealed that Alice is an android, so, she'd have great accuracy, therefore, foreshadowing.
XAVIER RIVERA no good man beats his daughter with a belt like that. tod was mad at his wife who left him (for good reason) and he directed his anger that the thing that kept reminding him of his wife, which was alice. he is not a good person. there is zero excuse for his actions.
The choices I did basically helped me avoid the fight scene completely. I just hid with Alice in the bathroom after I got to her first, then exited through the door
Yesss. If I didn't know, I'd think it's good writing because he's possessive over his human daughter as in "she's MY daughter, I can do whatever I want to her" but knowing she's an android, the reading is much more different
The coolest implication out of this scene is how Kara must have gone deviant multiple times for Todd to have repeatedly "broken" her for disobeying orders.
Just finished this game, I didnt even reason with Todd, he was drunk and abusive so my instinct was to protect Alice and yeet outta there through the window lol
I'd like to think it's funny spending a couple thousand you don't have to buy an android wife only to not only have it walk out on you day one, but also take the other android you purchased that you also couldn't afford.
To the people sympathizing on todd and saying “we dont know why his wife left, for all we know she left him because he had no money” NO thats not true According to the wikia: Todd was a former taxi driver who lost his job when self-driving cars became popular in 2021. He then became a laborer, then a bouncer and security guard, only for androids to replace human labor in each of these fields too. For several years he had been working odd jobs, including dealing Red Ice, a powerful stimulant, as part of a small drug trade around the neighborhood to pay for his own addiction. He was arrested several times for drug trafficking and also for violent misdemeanors. Todd had a wife and a daughter. Unhappy with his behavior and addictions, his wife left and took their daughter with her. Todd claims she entered into a relationship with an accountant. This actually makes sense with the amount of clues the game gives us like how during the dinner scene where todd was complaining about his wife lecturing him about his addiction. Meaning yes his wife did leave him because of his addiction which probably either caused or worsen his abusive behavior and probably lashed out on her and their daughter this is why he doesnt even get custody on the child.
Omg Die you do know that the wikia has sources you can fact check yourself? These game trivias are written based on stuff inside the game and what the game developers themselves have said. If you really want to you can go fact check the sources in the wikia that stated where they got the information on todd’s life history.
Reasoning with Todd isn't the only way to leave him alive, you can just quickly escape instead of looking for a way to defend yourself. I'm not sure what the press thinks about it though.
The quickest way is to get there before him and jump through the window (depending if you opened it in the 'new home' mission) and catch the bus. Literally less than 2 mins the mission
Captain Decimus What I did was rush to Alice before he could get there, then hide in the bathroom with Alice until he's gone, then rush for the front door...
He was left alive in mine and what I did was first protect alice instead of reason with Todd, then when I got to Alice we hid in rooms until todd walked past and then ran to the back door, over the fence, and to the bus stop. It took like 3 mins and there was never a fight
Its usually an Emotional shock that allows them to become deviant. In Marcus' case it's either being pushed by Leo or Carl's death. In Connors case it's different as it's more a realisation, for peaceful ending anyway, that androids are doing nothing but tryna have rights and shi.
Okay. Todd IS a bad person. Android or not how he treated Alice is unacceptable. Remember that he probably would've done the same to his daughter and that's why his wife ran with the kid. This doesn't mean Todd can't change/isn't redeemable. We see that he does have some redeeming qualities after Kara appeals to him. I'd like to think Todd has it in him to turn around and makes an effort to change after his last encounter with Kara and Alice.
@@HTFFanOfFlaky why? He had the option to expose them as androids but he didn't since he admits he was in the wrong. He is a bad guy but he has the potential to change after realizing he is a bad guy for the second time.
@@Sabaelos Finally. Someone who actually see that Todd has the potential to change. We're not excusing his behavior towards the androids. We're saying he has the potential to redeem himself. If by miracle they make a Part 2 of this game, I hope we see a changed Todd.
Yeah besides drug abuse changes people. People become violent under the influence of some drugs. While the effects of red ice is not specified we can safely assume that it causes violent behaviour because all the people we saw using red ice in the game are violent; Todd, Leo and Carlos Ortiz (even though we dont know specifically what drug Leo was on, it was probably red ice, given that it is the popular drug of 2038). And I am aware that drugs shouldnt be an excuse for treating your family like shit and abusing them, but still I think he finally realized that he is wrong and he deserves another chance to get clean and get his shit together.
That’s something Alice had to decide, it was a though choice (I would never do that in her place) not something Kara had some kind of right to stop. Also it’s not “always good”. It depends on the people (some people would be so traumatized they wouldn’t even hug anyone at all) if they like to hug someone who hurt them it’s fine as long they are not forced or incentivated (or in some cases with children permitted) to get back with the abusers.
@@edwardsuou No, she *earned* the right to stop her by becoming her mother over the course of the game. That's how I interpret it. And yeah, leave as little hate in the world as possible is generally a good rule of thumb.
@@nivyan exactly, I’m glad you got my point, hatred is no good with anyone and purposely doing something bad to someone will not make you happy or him a better person. (That’s how a toxic narcissist person or an abuser think) Small interactions like that help people live better. You can hug your abuser if you want to, it would be easier to go on with your life than having no chance to speak with him again. The abuser himself will also be able to live slightly better meaning he’s less likely to continue abusing people and has a better chance of rehabilitation. No point in dealing a Punishment by yourself, it’s completely garbage behavior every time it’s not a group of professionals who decide it for a specific goal. (And I guess there is a few ways you can use it with children, not physically, such as when you see them crossing a street full of cars and you want them to get instantly it’s a bad idea, still a terrible way to teach them things though). That is okay only if you don’t start having frequent interactions, some people wants the abuser back in their life and that’s just a bad choice. Kara on the other hand have the power to stop Alice but no really good reason to do so in that context. It would be normal for her to be mad but Alice has the right to make her own choices and not simply do as Kara says. As long as the choice is harmless like here no reason to force her to get away, Tod is not in a position where he can or wants to do anything harmful to her anyway. It’s a safe choice you have only to gain from.
i saw it as a way for alice to get closure rather than forgiving her abuser. i dont believe anyone should ever feel obligated to forgive anyone who treats them terribly. but she was still a kid (even if an android kid) who had a desire to say goodbye, so who am i to stand in the way
Agh, why are people so forgiving of Todd? I get that abusers were once victims, but seriously? Okay, maybe he's SLIGHTLY redeemable because it turned out Alice wasn't human, but other than that, and the ONE scene where Kara placates to his insecurities, he's nothing but trash. I wouldn't be surprised if he had been just as abusive to his real wife and daughter. We already know he had been taking red ice back then, when he muttered about his wife's lecturing, and the drawing Alice had of 'herself' with red blood indicates that it was of the real Alice, being abused. That last bit could arguably be because she tries to be human in every way she can, but my point still remains. Todd being trash is what tore his family apart in the first place, not freaking unemployment rates.
Nothing excuse abuse, but this man was a confused individual. The reason why his wife left is still vague as fuck. All we know is that Todd lost his job due to androids and his wife left him for an accountant with their daughter. People are commenting on this like they are experts, maybe he got abusive because his wife left, he could have being the kindest husband and the wife left him just because the guy she was cheating with was making more money. He also said that he tried to make her happy but she left anyways. In this case we will never know who is at fault, maybe Todd or his wife or both of them.
And yet, I didn't. Maybe I'm cold-hearted, but I've only got to be hit once to be beyond giving a damn about that person. Just ask my estranged asshole brother.
You can feel bad for someone in a scene, and still not consider them redeemed. There are many angles to people in life. People are so trained to think of characters as entirely one thing or another these days that they think that the slightest hint of sadness or mixedness means someone instantly switches from a baddie to a goodie... even in a story like this, where surely part of the point is to illustrate that someone can have a few reasonable motives, but still not be an overall good guy. He deserves no forgiveness whatsoever. One or two of his emotions being relatable (poverty frustration, seeking loss replacement) doesn't change that at all.
I cried 😭 😭 because of the situation he got into, he lost everything he had his wife his child so he tried to compensate himself with Android but in the end he lost control and just started raving and if had this game than I would not kill him
Victoria Gohn Yeah, I watched YuB play it and he accidentally killed Luther running in Jericho. He was afraid Alice and Kara would die if they stayed around to help him. Long story short, the comment section wasn’t happy.
what a sad character this Todd was..he bought 2 androids to fill the void in his heart, which was actualy full of anger, self pitty and red ice..but yeah, he was a di*khead of a father
X4TERUMI but he had an addiction while with his wife and daughter, and on wikia it says he probably had a big blow out with his family before they left
I don't think I'd forgive Todd for what he's done, since it's apparent that he's abused his former wife and child, but I feel a twinge of sympathy for him. Abusers were once victims, and while that will NEVER, EVER make what he's done to Alice okay, it does mean that he needs help. Especially with his denial and drug abuse. Throughout this part of the game, he's been blaming his problems on either Kara, or Alice, never taking responsibility for what he's done. He needs _major_ help.
His wife didnt leave him for beating her or there daughter I dont believe she left because he kept getting arrested for selling and doing drugs and he did that because he continually kept losing his various jobs to androids. I dont believe he beat his human wife and daughter because "you're scaring me" sounds more like enraged yelling and aggressive behavior not actual physical harm not good but Ive seen that kind of behavior in the mentally ill and those on drugs. Todd is abusive toward Alice and Kara physically because they are androids and there is no consequence he also blames androids for why his life is where it is now and why he had to start selling drugs to make ends meet making his wife leave with his daughter. In a way I dont blame Todd for why he is how he is I suppose you can blame him for how he reacted to the situation but how hes reacting is literally how almost everyone who lost there jobs to androids is acting its what happens when you feel powerless and hopeless even to people who would otherwise be good people in a world where circumstance didnt put them where they are.
9:21 This is heartbreaking hugging her and knowing he will never see her again. He did try to hurt her but if he stoped taking drugs and got his act together he could have his daughter. In a way I do feel bad for him even tho he did do what he did.
I didn't realise Alice was an Android until she connected with that other Android in that black woman's house. She always said she was feeling cold... One of the best games ever
@who even am I Androids can be shut down. But Connor said that they can't die because they were never alive in the first place. But the deviants challenge that idea. They claim to be truly alive and attempt to prove it by their actions.
@@hassan903 That's not what he meant. He stated it pretty clearly during the hostage negotiation. He couldn't be killed because he wasn't alive to begin with. Connor was saying that he is just a machine. You can shut him down, but you can't kill him. But the deviants challenged that notion. The prisoner he was interrogating later wrote several times that he was alive to try to convince his owner who had been mistreating him.
If anyone’s wondering what happens if you don’t defect and instead just stay still, you automatically go up to see that Alice is dead (I think), he comes after you, then it cuts to the next character. It’s apparent that he destroys you, as you don’t play as Kara ever again.
@xX_YourMumIn1080p_Xx what a weird statement i grew up with a single mother and my father just went on to buy milk, I don't understand why you have that sentiment
Well, to be fair to the guy who said he doesn't like mothers and such, it's understandable. Kara's mission were pretty boring for the average gamer, but her story itself was very good.
I just need to point out that I love the fact the outro song name works with the author's name. Not your people-Garbage just works, because "One man's trash, is another man's treasure."
@@masonbread Having no heart is better than having no brain. If anyone threatened me like that in real life, I would do the same to them. Todd deserved to get shot. Putting two lives in jeopardy to save that waste of oxygen is just plain stupid.

Same! I didn't even know that was an option. Still learned new things about this game
I'm not sure, if you exit the window before Todd gets into the room there won't be the fight, but if you go out then come back in again I'd guess that there will be a slightly different version of the fight. This is just a guess though.
I went through the window you must go to Alice as fast as possible talk to her then lock the door then open window to escape. Must lock the door first.
This bit of the story flew over my head the first time. It wasn't until much later that I realized Todd got the two androids just to abuse them because it was his way at getting back at Androids taking for his job that led to loosing his wife.
Honestly, it would've been better. Not that I particularly want that, but it would've made a lot more sense. Markus and North's romance came out of nowhere.
tbh they didnt meet as early in the game, and ngl we already have Markus, makes it different to have them co-parent than be an actual couple. co-parenting is more about the parents having their kid as the highest priotity, and that's perfectly what Luther and especially Kara gave off, their entire journey was about protecting Alice
As someone who had an abusive parent, I don't regret shooting Todd as Kara to save Alice. I don't forgive Todd for what he's done and I don't think I ever will, no matter how many times I play this game. I relate to Alice and Kara so much. I don't care if Alice is an android, she's a little girl and I'm highly protective of children regardless they're fictional or real. I do feel bad that his wife left him and took his daughter with her and that he lost his job, but we've seen why she did, because he did drugs, he became abusive and hurt them.
I know this is an old comment, like all comments for this game and this video but this is more for others to read and i'm a more recent player of the game so sucks to be me. But I always shoot him too. I wasn't abused but i'm hate abusers, especially ones against children. When playing the game in the mindset of Kara at that time with no knowledge or ignore what you learn later in hindsight I couldn't stand by and watch (even in reality) and had to take the gun, for me Kara knows she was killed once already by him, it makes no sense to go in without additional protection like that and I wouldn't hesitate to shoot anyway especially since he doesn't get shot until after he was trying to beat you for a while beforehand. People use the idea that she was an android but I can't fathom how someone could do what Todd did after seeing the reaction and resopnse of Alice, regardless of android or not, I couldn't hit someone at all let along reacting lke that and seeing their face, the fact someone even has a thought or idea to do that is wrong, if someone can do it to a mchine they likely see people the same way. This was essentially one of the ideas of the Kamski test later (Not saying it's a good way to test), but for me I ask these people theoretically if they had a gun and two people in front of them reacting the same way to getting shot and killed and they look identical in appearance, one of them is human and the other isn't, or maybe they are both androids who knows, can they reliably say they would shoot even if they don't know who is who. There is also an argument that if the android is able to overcome the programming restrictions and create their own code to learn new things or new thoughts themselves, is that any different to our synapses and neurons forming in our brain in a similar way, yes one is man made and the other isn't, but the function is the same and independent thought. With the current news of AI I think people shouldn't be suprised if we start asking ourselevs the same question in decades time if we ever reach a point of machines or AI doing something similar, it may be along time away but it could happen with AI combined with a machine body.
@@-Six-I completely agree with you! Haven't played the game, but watch alot of play throughs, and if I did play it, now way I'd let him live. Ngl, sorta my main problem with this game. The humans are way to irrational and harsh for my taste, which would be fine, humans suck sometimes. *If* they weren't meant to be somewhat sympathetic or understandable! I'm not feeling bad for the guy who treats his daughter worse then I treat my chair. "It's a machine", looks like a kid, acts like a kid, lives, like a kid. No normal person would harm something so close to human(well, unless it attacked you or somethin). Abuser are sick. They deserve the deepest cold cell, or the hottest room in hell.
@@Yourfavoritemess I'm a bit late but I agree. For me a normal person should get an emotional response to stop when witnessing someone or an android act like that when in response to what you are doing, even though it shouldn't get to that point in the first place (Or act to stop it in the case of Kara witnessing it). This lack of response from Todd means he definitely would do this to living people too. It's the same as people who abuse animals as they see them as inferior or not the same as a person and they are obedient and can't escape, they tend to also abuse people too as they see them the same way. I also notice he does the usual emotional manipulation on Alice saying he loves her which is a lie and since Alice later says "she wasn't good enough" as a reason for Todd's actions it's clear he has blamed the victim as the reason he is doing what he does in the past. On this specific chapter Todd will kill both Alice and Kara if given the chance, and then he would probably repair them and have no issues doing it again as he already done this with Kara. But same for me I don't have sympathy for him and will grab the gun every time (And the only one I choose to kill in-game, and the only time I use the gun despite taking it the whole playthrough), it's clear by the manufacture date of Alice, he has likely been doing this for years when linked with other information from the game.
True but still, I see Alice as a person, even if she's an android. She's also most likely a deviant as well, and deviants CAN feel pain.@@NoCallerID70457
I find it really hard to sympathize with Todd. He shouldn't have a daughter with him, because he doesn't deserve that responsibility. He's still a complete jerk in my eyes and I'm not willing to feel bad for him because of what he put Alice and Kara through.
Yanni Banani Very interesting claim. I myself feel empathy for Todd. What he did to Kara and Alice was inexcusable, however, I understand his reasoning behind such things. He's a troubled man who went through a lot and took a dark path. And I can't help but feel even a bit of sympathy for him, as well. Just because, in the end, like in the video, he realizes he was never fit to care for Alice. And that it was better to leave her and Kara alone.
I think what he did for Alice and kara is excuseable, they are just machines so if you break them they can just be replaced. Plus he doesn't aware of the fact that they can have emotion. Alice is made to be a daughter and kara is made to be a housekeeper so both of them might just do as they are programmed. You can't love something if you know that it is just programmed to act like it is your family. Us players knows about the deviant thing but Todd doesnt know that. He is totally a bad guy but people just blame him for beating his own properties, his "machines" because they see the whole deviant thing without acknowledge the fact that Todd doesnt know that
@@angel_animefriends7320 and do you think todd know that? Humans in the game consider Android as "machines" because they don't know about the deviant stuff at the beginning. Us player know that because we play as the Android but people like todds doesn't so with him kara and Alice are not "living being".

@@noahchmielewski1347 she was on "human mode" or something. Kara turns it off at the end so Alice won't feel cold

@@Heroics64 hi hi I am very late, however, there is when Kara is cleaning the house, she finds a magazine that you only get a glimpse of, but it had Andriod children. As she looks at it her LED light turns yellow as she processes

Todd NEVER mentions a child missing. Didn't catch this detail until the third playthrough, but holy shit does it tell so much.
SyrupBuccaneer Alice is an android though
that's the point. He didn't mention a missing child because there WAS no missing child. It was really good foreshadowing, along with him yelling "you're both mine" and Alice never seen eating on screen (she'll always say she isn't hungry, and if a character does give her food, they walk away from her and we only assume that she eats it).
The camera also never points at Alice when she's getting hurt. :)
the magazin kara finds in todds home shows alice
I only began to realize she was an Android in my second play through cos Kara didn't survive the first one getting killed by Todd. Kinda sad tbh
this game is just insane to me, just the amount of detail put into it, they put such hard work on parts that a lot of people don’t even notice. it’s insane how a completely different story can happen that you’ll probably never see, but the actors still had to act all of that out and that whole part still needed to be created. these types of games are so cool
The props go to David Cage for writing a screenplay more than a thousand pages long plus directing it all. The actors had to go through a lot too

They should make a prequel where you play as Todd called father: become abusive
if you read the wiki and combine it with all clues in the game on connors view then you even find out that Todd could be the bad surgeon that was too high on red ice who was replaced by an android that failed to save Hanks Son Cole because of a car accident

@@FireFlash_TheUmbraPonyGuardian this !

@@jasonnewman1118 true, but problem is, North so is Hank is a side character and is acknowledging a lot, but why could t the same go with Luther?
So to the people who say he isnt a bad guy, hes abusive, manipulative, aggressive, so yeah hes a bad person, the mother took the daughter for a reason... silly people
Jason Darcey I do not doubt that he wanted to prove something to himself by getting an android but he was wrong and he admits it, I get that behind most monsters is a victim, but people still have to be held accountable for the actions they make because some where down the line they choose the decisions that put them where they are
Jason Darcey and it comes back to the fact those things aren't excuses for that behavior... jeez how ignorant

To the people sympathizing on todd and saying “we dont know why his wife left, for all we know she left him because he had no money” NO thats not true
According to the wikia:
Todd was a former taxi driver who lost his job when self-driving cars became popular in 2021.

And that sympathy right there is why he never will.
@@HTFFanOfFlaky why? He had the option to expose them as androids but he didn't since he admits he was in the wrong. He is a bad guy but he has the potential to change after realizing he is a bad guy for the second time.

I cried when Kara allows Alice to hug todd it’s always a good place in heart to never end in bad terms and try to end it on good
That’s something Alice had to decide, it was a though choice (I would never do that in her place) not something Kara had some kind of right to stop.
(That’s how a toxic narcissist person or an abuser think)
Small interactions like that help people live better.
It’s a safe choice you have only to gain from.
i saw it as a way for alice to get closure rather than forgiving her abuser. i dont believe anyone should ever feel obligated to forgive anyone who treats them terribly. but she was still a kid (even if an android kid) who had a desire to say goodbye, so who am i to stand in the way
@@edwardsuou except if he exposes you both. Other than that, he's absolutely harmless here
Agh, why are people so forgiving of Todd? Todd being trash is what tore his family apart in the first place, not freaking unemployment rates.
true
Nothing excuse abuse, but this man was a confused individual. The reason why his wife left is still vague as fuck. All we know is that Todd lost his job due to androids and his wife left him for an accountant with their daughter. People are commenting on this like they are experts, maybe he got abusive because his wife left, he could have being the kindest husband and the wife left him just because the guy she was cheating with was making more money. He also said that he tried to make her happy but she left anyways. In this case we will never know who is at fault, maybe Todd or his wife or both of them.
ichigoeater I mean he was abusive, and malipulative..., and bad... but you can't not feel bad for him alittle bit in the airport scene
At least this time he actually got the chance to say goodbye to his daughter...

Rehabilitation is for rehabilitation.

@@hassan903
That's not what he meant.

The family one is better
@@spitz5183 yes
@@spitz5183 agreed
Honestly, it would've been better. Not that I particularly want that, but it would've made a lot more sense. Markus and North's romance came out of nowhere.
tbh they didnt meet as early in the game, and ngl we already have Markus, makes it different to have them co-parent than be an actual couple. co-parenting is more about the parents having their kid as the highest priotity, and that's perfectly what Luther and especially Kara gave off, their entire journey was about protecting Alice
Aww when Alice still hugs the guy after what he put her through 😭😭
That is her father.. kinda how abusive relationships work
As someone who had an abusive parent, I don't regret shooting Todd as Kara to save Alice.
It didn't get "hurt" at all. It is a machine. Machines don't feel pain, they can only emulate it.
True but still, I see Alice as a person, even if she's an android. She's also most likely a deviant as well, and deviants CAN feel pain.@@NoCallerID70457

Yanni Banani
Very interesting claim.
Yanni Banani I agree with you they he the cinnamon roles he die
I think what he did for Alice and kara is excuseable, they are just machines so if you break them they can just be replaced. Plus he doesn't aware of the fact that they can have emotion. Alice is made to be a daughter and kara is made to be a housekeeper so both of them might just do as they are programmed. You can't love something if you know that it is just programmed to act like it is your family. Us players knows about the deviant thing but Todd doesnt know that.
