Eccentric= lengthen the muscle= more micro trauma= super computation= more growth( hypertrophy)

Compensation* and no muscle damage is not a direct cause of hypertrophy.
muscle damage isn't necessarily cause of muscle growth (ie micro tears)

So , can you tell me what's the difference between lifting 20kg dumbbell for 10 reps with fast tempo and same with 6 reps for slow tempo. How is the intensity different as in prior case, the no. of reps are more (10>6). How's that gonna cause more muscle fibers damage and micro tears.
If ur lifting a weight with a TUT of 5 sec rep and ur doing 6 reps that's 30sec of total TUT
If the TUT is 2 sec for each rep for total 10 reps then the total TUT is less i.e. 20sec
Now imagine doing 10 reps with slower TUT
How much more.work will u do with the same weight

It depends on movement
For eg in squat and deadlift it does nothing
In bicep curls contraction at top helps but nothing at bottom and.so on
