- The behind the scenes running around we do every week !! So this weeks stuff a mk1 golf gti that’s been sat for 15 years , a scruffy quick flip Ford ranger and finally an extremely cheap forklift (might over heat!!) but it’s was £500

Yes Al you like a vw commercial, I went on holiday last week and as you do spend your down time looking for treasure on the internet well I bought a 1975 vw type 2 pick up with a golf gti motor in the back .
Have you ever seen a VW T2 Gti coz I ain’t …think I need a German roll and some strong beer to cogitate what I’ve done

I know everybody call them a mark 1 but, the proper mark one had much smaller rear lights, as in the cabriolet models. I had one back in early 1980’s. Mine was a W reg but not a GTi , 3 tears old and it was the biggest heap of junk I ever bought, complete with a split bulkhead where the clutch cable came through. So junk was it that the dealer gave me my money back! The the Y reg came with the large rear lights and the different dashboard too. That was when they also were sold with the quad headlights even the 1.6 GL I think it was came with the GTI rear window spoiler too.

Looking forward to seeing the MK1 Golf restoration, I could be wrong as my eyes are still bleary but looks like its MK2 Golf Tornado Red so it may have been "restored" before, it should be Mars Red which is a bit lighter and more orange than that. Good lad for keeping the old parts, that said the original engine was a bit slow so I'd be half tempted to leave it in if he did a good job.
The BBS wheels look like E30 BMW ones so do your research before marketing those, might be worth nore than you think.

Wish you lived near me got my sprinter running fault free fitted new airflow gutted dpf mapped all the nonsince out drove it boosted ect. Felt brilliant went go camping and now low fuel pressure pump A lol! Injectors and pump a is brand new 😂 honest to god stupid idea buy a newer sprinter

Yes forklift was a bargain !! I’ve acquired all the parts to fix it ! Water pump had sheered clean off , yes the mk3’s gone a few weeks back 👍

Yes she’s off to be done, the mk1 should be good content . We’ll get stripping the to a bare shell in a week or so and we are well into the beetle rebuild that’s coming soon 👍
is there something wrong on your camera settings as especially at the start of the video everything seemed to be reversed. I had a bright red Y reg Golf Gti Mk1 but that was back when it was only 3 or 4 years old.
I keep re setting it dam thing likes going back to mirror images!! Must be an iPhone thing

This is how to save the planet (BS btw), Repair and reuse what has already been made. Like keeping my 21 year old sprinter running, zero DPF, zero EGR, happy days.
Couldn’t agree more, if we kept and fixed stuff instead of chucking everything and buying a new one!!! When is started car fixing as a nipper me and a mate use to fix a villages worth of 20 plus years old cars every year for the annual mot test “better days” now every time I walk in a breaks yard you see rows of perfectly good stuff people couldn’t be arsed to fix or more likely have lost the ability to fix there own stuff 👍
