Being in the motor industry for 30 years myself I completely agree with Chris that people should see how much “graft” goes into your “craft”. There has always been a perception that it’s easy to make money in the car game. The reality is that the ones that make it look easy are those who have put in the long hours, built relationships, worked hard “grafting” to earn the respect of others. I love both of your honest approach to your videos, your strong ethics to “do the right things even when no one is looking”, refusing to cut corners and demonstrate where others have on occasion done a botch job of previous repairs. Chris/Rob - your success is deserved and earned through all of the above but most of all in the motor industry and lots forget to mention it is that it’s “fun” and you have to have a laugh a day, you both show that in your work and I love watching you both. Thanks for todays video and in the words of Rob “I know I’ve waffled enough” but I wanted to share this..👍👍👍

This channel is the business and like Rob has always said, they do what they do and YT is essentially a "side hustle". That's what makes it great. Rob and Chris both give up so much of their privacy to provide this content. But, I've always noticed some viewers go far, too far. Always spotting things in the background etc, and asking personal stuff. Just enjoy the videos for what they are and get a life.

It's always great to see what you do outside of the workshop. The plans for your recently vacated yard are very exciting.
I can't understand why anyone would want to try and find out where the property is, let alone tell other people. You are as entitled to your privacy and security as anybody else. I'm sure if someone found out where he lived, he would not appreciate people being told where it was.

A once a month round up of the loose ends video would be nice. Highlighting the good points (successful buys) but also the bad points, dead ends and lost time. It wouldn’t need to be a dedicated video to any one car or project. More like a fly on the wall snip it’s . If you have the time that is.

It's very easy to pick fault. 'The 'S' is upside down, the radiator is a bit wonky'. I think you're both English gents, that's all I care about and is the main reason I subscribed very early on. Totally agree about you bringing up the privacy aspect of the location etc, don’t really understand people’s fascination about where you are tbh. You make no secret of your general location area anyway, why anyone needs to know more is a mystery.
Guy’s, got to say I’ve been following you from the beginning, I’ve been in the Motor Trade 48 yrs, so know the score, you are a pleasure to watch, you make quality videos whilst turning out quality repairs/rebuilds. Really enjoyed the diversity of this video. Good to see behind the scenes, by no means in the car trade easy but hard work deserves reward. Good luck to you both. Just a quick note people should absolutely respect privacy. It may seem innocent or indirect but hopefully people will ask the question of how they would like the risk of lots of random strangers having the ability to turn up unannounced. It should go without saying. It's basic respect I think. As always great content and I wish you both the best 😊

I retired to Portugal a few years ago and was going to drop in on you guys on one of my trips back to the UK, to say thank you for all the interesting videos and great work that you both do. Coincidentally a couple of weeks before I was due to come over you said in one of your videos “Please don’t turn up to visit us as it’s very disruptive and stops you working, having to walk to the gate to see who is there. I know just how infuriating that can be when you are in the middle of something, so just praise you on RUclips and to others. Keep up the good work it is so appreciated. 👍👍👍

Not surprising you guys need an admin assistant, a lot of paperwork and phone calls. It is obvious that is essential in your trade. We know Chris is not great dealing with the business side and Rob is excellent at that.
Regarding your location, it is common nature to discover sites and places, I had to do that even before Google maps! Many people like to challenge themselves pulling together a location from a couple of pics.
But, you guys need your privacy, it is wrong to publish your location. I guess with social media, people do NOT understand that at all. They would NOT be happy if YOU to do the same to them.
Todays episode is very very good. It does show you both have a lot of stuff on the side. Even Chris clearing out the land and building the wall would be excellent viewing.
A lot of people get a lot of knowledge from watching you guys working your trades. They can see how stuff is done, and that is what makes your channel so watchable!
My buddy had the best paint shop in the region. I racked out one of his outbuildings with bays for storing the panels and stripped interiors during the repair process.
It was always interesting watching the panel beaters and painters doing their thing.

Guys, firstly I want to say that I watch your content religiously, I can’t wait for the next video to be uploaded and I’ve never ever been disappointed (apart from when Rob knocked his own front wall down) 😂
Unfortunately, being that you have so many avid subscribers, you’ll alway get a few who watch you both on your various platforms that start to feel like they know you both as friends because that they watch you on the oblong screen, this is turn makes them believe that they’re entitled to know more about you, your private lives, homes, locations etc. The saying “familiarity breeds contempt” is accurate in this instance. Your business is exactly that, YOUR BUSINESS! The lack of respect for this astounds me, but because you afford us a glimpse into your world twice weekly, sadly human nature takes over for some and they want more, but they lose sight of where the line is drawn morally.
Also, the temerity of some people that find nothing better to comment on is to criticise whether Chris’s bespoke radiator in the office being “wonky” or the S on the SRUK sign being incorrect. The amount of tasks that you must be doing constantly, I’m surprised that either of you get any sleep let alone find time to try and appease the nit-picking winge-bags that feel the need to incessantly comment negatively about your videos.
Rob, I know that you get a lot of flack for being out of the workshop a lot but most subscribers are smart enough to realise that Chris couldn’t’ operate without you, much the same as you couldn’t operate without Chris. Rob is great at what he does, wheeling and dealing, and Chris is a genius in the workshop and can create anything. Your end product when a vehicle leaves the workshop is incredibly high end and you should both be proud!
Keep up the good work and ignore the idiots…….rant over! 😂

Listen ,, who cares what people think ,,, I come across your page by accident through lockdown,, and it's been brilliant to watch ,, but here's 2 questions ,, number 1 , how does it work all the time with you and Chris being under each others feet all the time,, and secondly ,, how does Chris get enough hours in the day if he's a farmer as well as a mechanic and multi tradesman, there can't be enough hours in the day ,, also anyone who reveals were you or anyone else lives should be booted to the kerb ,, all I'll say is,, I watch your channel amongst a couple of other things like campervans , boats ,, construction machines ,, ( I drive diggers ) etc and have a ritual every night when I get home ,, I'll have my tea , I get a shower ,, watch the news then the Mrs watches her soaps while I have my earphones in by 7.30 and your channel is the first I watch then the others ,, so as far as I'm concerned, you better never stop making the videos 100% you better not ,, so keep up the good work lads 👍👌🙏🙏

Totally get your point on privacy, it’s Chris’s home he does not need people calling or hanging round. As others will say we love what you guys do keep up as many videos as you can.
Perhaps if you attended a car show you could do a meet and greet, we would love to see you!

It’s good to hear about this stuff behind the scenes. It’s like you are talking about my day to day stuff aswell!
I too have to do all the things you guys do, but there is only me on my own doing it - lots and lots of phone calls in between working, driving, chasing problems, arranging jobs, talking to customers, chasing parts, getting oil delivered, getting waste oil collections……researching problems/special tools for jobs you are not familiar with - it can be some really hard work!
Definately agree with helping people out in the trade - I have a collection of good friends and contacts in the trade and we help each other out with advice and tools that each other doesn’t have quite regularly - it’s how the world goes round and makes the job a lot nicer with the help of others!
Well done to you both! Keep up the good work lads! 👍🏼

Loved it. It’s a great example of team work. It’s obvious to most people that Rob is running around everywhere. He is like a Duracell bunny never stopped. Rob great to see an sneak peak at your average day. Would love more like this. I value my privacy so I can understand that it’s only right that Chris has his. I just love your honest program and the content in it.

What is clear is that you both have very specific abilities and this is what makes your content unique and fantastic.
Keep doing what you do I personally loved it

Reminds me of something I heard and have used many times myself,
“the harder I work the luckier I get”
Also another of my favourites is:
“It’s taken me 15 years to become an overnight success”
I love you guys, you’re attitude to work and each other is amazing and carries you so much further than just the content of repairing cars. I still marvel at Chris being so active on camera now when he wouldn’t even speak off camera a while ago. Just keep doing what you do. Loved the behind the scenes glance 👍

With the spare land, have you thought of using it for caravan storage?
A good friend of mine has 2 sites in Merseyside and Cheshire, and it's easy money! Both of his sites are Gold standard, which means they are fully secure.
Make the site secure, put a personal code entry/keyfob entry in to the site, put some hardcode on the floor & level it up, then let the owners park their caravans up and that's it! Charge £400 upwards per caravan and watch the pennies roll in!
Loved the "behind the scenes" video!!

Excellent video, gentlemen. I can only hope that most viewers know and understand there is so much more to SRUK behind the scenes, than what is seen on the channel, and that goes to the added work we don't see from both of you.
Also, you guys have every right to your privacy. You invite us almost into Chris's home twice a week on the channel, and for some reason, some people think that is an invitation to stop by, like it's some kind of tourist destination, like Stonehenge.
Those who disrespect your privacy should be completely shut out.
    Thank you for the tour!

I hear you guys! One of my jobs is at an atv repair shop 6 days per week, parts, loading and unloading machines, tracking down used parts no longer available, customers that wanted their machines yesterday, others that are finished and take weeks to pick them up. It's a nice change to go work at the ranch with a different atmosphere and mission, enjoy both ends of the spectrum. Best of luck to you both.
