today i learned home free has been around for almost 21 years and voiceplay has been around for 24 years, give or take a few months for both of them. like voiceplay is a year older than i am and that feels so strange.
Welcome to Home Free! They are totally acapella. They won Sing Off the season after Pentatonix. Yes, they have one of the best beat boxers around...Adam Rupp (no, there wasn't a harmonica there). The bass, Tim, has a 5 octave range. The lead in this song was Austin. Check out any of their other stuff...it's all great. "How Great Thou Art"..."Mayday"..."End of the Road"...just a few suggestions.
Home Free has a large fan base. We are called "Home Fries." Home Free has an extensive music video catalog on RUclips. Jump down the rabbit hole. We will be with you all the way. ;-)
Glad you liked it. There are hundred of reactions to Home Free on RUclips and you should try visiting their channel, by the same same. Start with their covers of Johnny Cash's "Ring of fire" featuring Avi Kaplan and Boyz to Men's "End of the Road"
One of the best reaction videos to this song. I loved how you tried resisting hitting the pause. First time I heard this rendition of this song gave me chills.
The Song "Man of Constant Sorrow" was part of the movie sound track of "O Brother Where Thou" With George Clooney. They called it old timey stuff in the movie.
Just love when someone hears them for the first time -- there are so many suggestions, I would just jump in and be prepared for a wild ride. Lots of covers, lots of originals...........ah, the addiction that is Home Free!
Hi Gitana - fab first reaction! I love it when people first discover Home Free. They are a vocal band, and all the sounds they make are with their mouths. Adam Rupp, the beatboxer, is hugely talented - he does a 10 minute "drum" solo in each concert. You would honestly think he has a drum kit about his person! As others have said their bass, Tim Foust, has a 5 octave range. You will see him singing tenor as well as that deep, rumbling bass. Rob Lundquist, their tenor, has a sweet, soulful, but wonderfully versatile voice - he can sing just about any genre. Adam Chance is their baritone/bass. He has about a 4 octave range and can cover the bass when Tim takes the lead. Finally, their high tenor, Austin Brown has a smooth, but powerful voice and he is also really versatile. They are a fun group of guys who don't take themselves seriously and are truly amazed at their success. You can't go wrong with any of their music - just pop on those headphones and dive down the rabbit hole. You will have a great time as well as listening to awesome music!
They are 100% accapella. Adam Rupp, the beat boxer is beyond compare and when they perform the song live, he and Austin Brown, the lead on this song do a harmonica duet.
Tim's voice is one of the deepest recorded. I have asked about the octave that he has been recorded singing, and no one outside the professional group knows of the that level. He actually can make you doubt the stability of the foundation in the building you are residing. They are all amazing talents. They have a ton of music on RUclips.
Hi, Adelle! You've stumbled on another of my favorites. Completely a capella, completely great. Two that I would highly recommend (warning, tissues will be required) are "Go Rest High on That Mountain" and "How Great Thou Art". Visually stunning, vocally incredible, emotionally moving. By the way, this song shot to the top of the charts on the soundtrack of "O Brother, Where Art Thou?" with Dan Tyminski and his group. It's a bluegrass song, and most bluegrass songs have sort of a sad theme but uplifting music. Sort of the country music version of jazz or blues.
I'm don't know where there from my first time hearing them. I'm 61 and was born and raised in Kentucky and you can go all out through the mountains and hear this type of singing Great reaction Stay Safe 😍😍 😍
Hi Gitana, I loved your reaction to the Bass singer it was priceless. No he was not playing a Harmonica, but he was making Harmonica sounds your mind was blown.
YES! My favorite acapella group of all time! (No instruments) Thank you for reacting to Home Free. You will make lots of Home Fries happy. They have so many great songs. Please react to their cover of Ring Of Fire or Mayday. There's too many songs to choose from. Love your videos! (PS. I agree with Helle...it's too early to react to Mayday yet.)
Not "Mayday" yet, its a song you should listen to, when you are famillear with all of their voices, and names. And yes, there is over 100 good songs to pic a choice from, and they have dropped a new song today.
Just tweeted you, but couldn't finish my thought. Lol Peter Hollens is another great content creator, and his Misty Mountains featuring Tim Faust is amazing. Thinking of You/Let's Get It On is also great.
You know that they use no instruments, right? Sounds are all coming from their mouths. Lead singer on this one is the high tenor Austin Brown, the amazing beatboxer/harmonica sound: Adam Rupp, Bass & jaw harp (sound at the beginning & end) Adam Chance, Tenor, beautiful voice, & can rap (the glasses & great beard) Rob Lundquist, Bass with a 5 octave range (he blew a sound system at a concert with how low he was singing) Tim Foust.
Home Free are a Country A cappella group from Minneapolis, Minnesota. They was formed by the Brothers Rupp, Chris and Adam, about 5 years before, Their appearance on the show The Sing-Off. Chris left for some solo work. In the group now are Austin, High Tenner, Rob the bearded Tenner. Adam Chance ,the newest member Baritone/ Base, Adam Rupp Founder .Percussion/ beat boxer , Tim Foust. the 5 octave freak of nature. Sing-Off winners. Home Free Fans are known as Home Fries. Welcome to the Home Fry family. The Home Free spin on any song usually makes it better.
Hey G, love your reactions and I love Home Free. I'm a full time musician and these guys are high on my listening list. I'll be watching for your reactions!!! Bravo!
Ok. Everyone has stepped up and given you the history and suggestions. I agree with everything that's been said. "Mayday", wait until you have learned each of their names. By then you'll have gone far enough down the rabbit hole to TRULY appreciate it. I'm just gonna add, prepare yourself. Get ready for the onslaught of subscribers from the Home Fries. Some will wait until you've done 2 or 3. Be ready for Lots of subscribers and LOTS of suggestions. We're a very friendly, loyal and patient bunch. Can't wait to see what song you pick next. :)
I'm going through your videos and finally going your first Home Free reaction😂😂 I haven't seen it yet, but you definitely need to react to Mayday. That is the ultimate Home Free mind blown video
Beatboxing is a fresh art popped out of nowhere i suppose for most of us from across the pond and if i am not mistaken the first guy we witnessed doing that in Europe/Greece came from America is called Michael Winslow , he played a role in a very famous movie series called Police Academy and he literally blew our minds away because there wasn't anybody else to compare him to so i guess he is the father of beatboxing outside of music at least but the guy can make at least 20.000 different sound effects including musical instruments and if you like check him out when you get some time to spare for fun and if you happen to find his Jimmy Hendrix impression you will understand a lot . Have fun , stay safe and keep it up !!!
They are an a capella group. Every sound you hear is coming out of at least one of the member's mouth. The harmonica is Adam doing his thing without a physical instrument. Tim is the main bass & you just thought he went low today. Just wait...he's going to blow your mind if you continue your Home Free journey!!! I love watching a newbie becoming a Home Fry (a devotee). You have so much pleasure in your future with this group!!!
They won the US accapella tv show, The Sing Off, one year after Pentatonix won it. You can’t go wrong with any of their vids. Thanks for a wonderful reaction!
Actually, nearly 2 years separated Seasons 3 & 4 (2011 versus 2013). NBC cancelled, then reinstated due to public reactions. Then "Season 5" was a collection of bad changes, or less.
#homefryfanforever 💙💙💙 I absolutely love watching people react to them for the first time!! Jaws dropping...eyes popping out their head...it's HYSTERICAL and wonderful fun❣❣❣ Because there are NO INSTRUMENTS...their bodies are the instruments it's fantastic!!
Loving your reactions.. Also wanted to throw my suggestions into the reaction lottery: Keith Whitley "Don't Close Your Eyes" & Joe Nichols "I'll Wait For You."
Many acapella groups have a beat boxer who can make all different types of sounds with his mouth and without anything else. Their beat boxer is incredible!!
Every sound you hear on any of their songs is made from their voices. They are an amazing group. Some other great songs by them are “My Church”, “Ring of Fire”’, “Mom”, and “End of the Road”. Actually anything they sing is great. I suggest Ring of Fire next because it introduces you to Avi Kaplan. He was the original bass singer of a group named Pentatonix. They are another amazing acapella group that you definitely should hear. Take your time going through their music though both Pentatonix and Home Free because it’s a lot of mind blowing talent to take in. I’m a new subscriber by the way. Really enjoyed your reaction especially when Tim started singing lol he’s the guy with the really deep voice. He can also sing really high as well.
I've watched your Dimash reactions and subscribed today because I enjoy your personality and your keeping your husband involved in these reactions. Home Free and Pentatonix (PTX) are two great a capella groups that will blow your minds. They actually sound just as good, if not better, live!
Need to listen to their cover of Justin Timberlake, Can't Stop the Feeling. Absolutely perfect. I may be biased, but I think most of the covers are better than the originals. They put a country spin on most everything. Their harmonies are unmatched by anyone or acapella group. Keep them coming. Thanks.
Ok you asked for it so here is a bit of history on them. Yes, they are an acapella band which was formed in 2000 by the beatboxer Adam Rupp (back right) and his brother Chris when they were teenagers in Mankato, MN. .Chris left the group in 2016 to pursue other musical interests. So he is not in this video. Over the years members came and went. Rob Lundquist(tenor with the beard and glasses far left), another Minnesotan, joined in 2008. Texan Tim Foust ( jaw-dropping bass with the 5+ octave range far right) starting guest subbing with them 2010. He joined them full-time in January 2012. Later that same year they met Georgia native Austin Brown(high Tenor who sang lead on this. Front center) on a cruise ship where they were all working. Austin a self-described aca geek told them if they ever needed him just call. As it happened their tenor had a young family and decided to retire. They called Austin & he joined them full time in January of 2013. Up until this point, they did mostly pop songs but with the addition of Austin and Tim 2 southern boys, they started doing pop and country songs. The audiences seemed to love the country songs. So, when they decided to try out for the reality TV contest show, THE SING OFF. They decided to go in singing country. The producers loved it and Home Free ended up winning that season. In 2016 after Chris Rupp left the group he was replaced by Alabama native Adam Chance (baritone/bass- 4-octave range back left) formerly of Street Corner Symphony. My suggestions: Blue Ain’t your color, How Great Thou Art, Auld Lang Syne, Helplessly Hoping, My Church, In the Blood, I can’t outrun you, Love train, Down to the Honkytonk and Quarantine.
No instruments anywhere. They are a Country A Capella Vocal band, but they do so much more than that. They do everything from Country, gospel, soul, Motown, and pop. I really hope you do Home Free in the future. Thank you!
Yes, a true a cappella group. No instruments other than their voices. Other amazing songs to check out by them "Ring of Fire", "Do You Hear What I Hear", "Mayday", "Helplessly Hoping", "The Butts Remix", "Hillbilly Bone" many more, but those are just off the top of my head.
All sounds are vocal with this group. They are American and won the 4th season of the "Sing-Off" which is kind of like The Voice, but all the groups competing were acapella groups. Home Free does covers and originals and they have some great harmonies. Why they sound different is because it's pure vocal talent you are hearing, nothing else.
You've struck a cappella gold with Home Free Gitana. And you won't believe how diverse their creations are, both covers and originals. For something up tempo and fun check out "Can't Stop the Feeling", for something deep their cover of John Mayer's "In The Blood", for a laugh and a smile their cover of The O'Jays "Love Train" and their "Butts Remix". For another folk music classic, although rather more modern, their cover of John Denver's "Take Me Home Country Roads". Also their cover of "Ring of Fire" featuring Avi Kaplan formerly from Pentatonix, another fantastic a cappella group, check out their rendition of "Hallelujah" (good friends with Home Free). You really can't go wrong with anything Home Free creates. And they have a fan base which will find and love your channel. One final note, when Christmas season arrives do check out their Christmas music renditions...just phenomenal! And "Auld Lang Syne", they even make that simple tune sound spectacular.
" Man of Constant Sorrow " was used in the film "Oh Brother Where Art Thou " it is a totally outrages piece of music and they do it wonderfully. Keep going girl. Many blessings on you.
Martina Mcbride( gods will) wonderful song with a beautiful message. Martina is a country diva and she is a little woman with a huge voice. She has other songs like concrete Angle, and independents day
A whole band w/o a single instrument....hahahahahah....LOL... that's a perfect description! Love your reactions!!! more, more, more please!! And hey! You'll hear people describe Home Free as a "country" acapella group but as said before... seriously they are so, so much more than one type of music... they do blues, R&B, spirituals, folk rock, funk and more and do them all INSANELY well...If you really want to see the range of the group just look at their covers of John Mayer's "In the Blood", J. Timberlake's 'I got the Feeling, Crosby Stills & Young, etc. It's an amazing, chilling, fantastic ride to see all the great works they've covered....enjoy it...it's a ride of a lifetime!
So I just found your channel (sound of silence was the video that I watched first). I had never heard of this group they were amazing thank you for that. Another cover of this song is by a group called Charm City Devils it's a metal cover just something different and as awesome as this one.
Home Free are a group of insanely talented singers, there are clips of Tim Foust (the Base singer) onstage in a live performance causing speakers to break by singing so low. Kind of the reverse of the Opera Singer shattering a wine glass. The song is very old but most recently was in a Cohen Brothers Movie “Oh Brother Where Art Thou” 2000 starring George Clooney. If you want a suggestion for more of Home Free’s work the Cover of Seven Bridges Road is fantastic, their version of Alud Lang Syne really features how talented ALL of them are.
Yep. A capella! Their mouths are their instruments. High tenor-Austin Brown, he sings lead on this song. Tenor-Rob Lundquist, he sings lead with Austin. Baritone/bass-Adam Chance, he sings the OOOO's in the background, as well as making the mouth harp sound at the beginning and end of the song. Bass/baritone-Tim Foust, he is singing bass, and also sings a verse. Vocal percussionist-Adam Rupp, he is one of the founders of the group nearly 20 years ago. Though Adam and his brother Chris started the group many years ago, the group didn't really hit their stride until they won the 4th season of "The Sing Off". Several different men have come and gone, and Chris left the group just a few years ago. These gentlemen are a very good fit. They consider themselves an capella country group, but also sing some pop.
Austin- high tenor Rob- tenor Tim- Bass and songs 4 octaves Chance- baritone & bass Adam- beatbox . and does are musical instruments. The harmonic is done with his mouth and the juice harp at the end.
Tim Foust (bass) is from Texas, Austin Brown (high tenor) is from Georgia, Adam Chance (Baritone) is from Alabama, Adam Rupp (Percussionist) and Rob Lundquist (tenor) are both from Minnesota, where the group originated. The singers all take turns singing lead, but Austin sang lead on this song, while Chance made the juice harp sound, and Adam was the train whistle, the harmonica, and the drums. Nice reaction!!
Absolutely no instruments to be found, no harmonica. To appreciate them without the folk sound, check out End Of The Road by Boyz To Men. They are labeled country acapella, but they are soooo much more. Thanks for checking them out.
Their cover of Ring of fire, and Elvira are really good and show off that bass singers range, his name's Tim... All their stuff is good, you can't go won't at all with their music
Welcome to the world of Home Fries. You'll get tons of suggestions. Can't Stop the Feeling, Catch Me if You Can, Do You Hear What I Hear, The Butts Remix, Fishin' in the Dark/Boondocks... The list goes on and on. Thanks! ^_^

Rebecca Waid “Mayday” needs to wait a little more. That one is so different that it helps to know how they are normally a little more first.
Not Mayday until you learn to know the members and their sound
Ring of Fire is GOOD ONE!
There is a video out there where Tim hits such a low note that he breaks a speaker at a gig.
Their cover of The Eagles - Seven Bridges Road is incredible as well.
The guy playing the harmonica is a beat boxer. He is like the rhythm section of the band. He is amazing.

IF YOU THINK THAT ABOUT THEIR HARMONY, do a search for Barbershop Quartet Champions, now that is some real tight harmony.
the harmonica was sheer beat box....totally the young man's mouth
Mayday
:D Thank you for knowing all that and passing it along. I'm a new Home Fry and appreciate learning more about this amazing group.
They make all the music with their mouths/voices. Best beat boxer in the biz.
You need to see them in concert. I was front row once..
No instruments anywhere. They are a Country A Capella Vocal band, but they do so much more than that. They do everything from Country, gospel, soul, Motown, and pop. I really hope you do Home Free in the future. Thank you!
Just subbed after watching your disturbed video 😊 Love your personality. 💜
That comment made me smile BIG thank you so much 💓
@@GitanaAdelle Aw. X ) The feeling is mutual!!
My favorite band!!
These boys are the real deal!
You have become my new favorite reaction person , so for that I guess I need to say thank you !
Great reaction looks like my backyard.
She has other songs like concrete Angle, and independents day
Everything you hear is coming from their mouth‘s… No instruments. Everything. These guys are incredible!
Hi from your old Texas fan. And as always tell lucky howdy 👋
I live their cover of Ring of Fire. Country + deep bass = great song
They're insane-talented together....I really look forward to the beatboxer most though, for sure.
Your reaction to Tim Foust's ultra deep voice was priceless😂 His vocal range is beyond description.
I liked that song alot. First time hearing that version. That low sound was just like bullfrogs
👍😁👍
Yep.
Glad your almost at 10K
Austin- high tenor
Rob- tenor
Tim- Bass and songs 4 octaves
Chance- baritone & bass
Adam- beatbox . and does are musical instruments. The harmonic is done with his mouth and the juice harp at the end.
Amazing 💓
A must see/listen is ring of fire!!
Did they do a cover of boys to men? 💓
@@GitanaAdelle They did, "End Of The Road". Incidentally Shawn Stockman was one of the judges of the season of The Sing Off won by Home Free.
@@GitanaAdelle Yes they did and if you want to laugh your awesome ass off check out their video of Grandma got run over by Santas Reindeers
I'm catching up lol. You should definitely check out "ring of fire". And for great fun, the "butts remix" is funny and shows how much fun they have
you are right first published in 1913, been on two movie soundtracks "Shrek" and "O Brother Where Art Thou"
Oh my god you have got to watch more home freeee
Their cover of Ring of fire, and Elvira are really good and show off that bass singers range, his name's Tim... All their stuff is good, you can't go won't at all with their music
Welcome to the world of Home Fries. You'll get tons of suggestions. Can't Stop the Feeling, Catch Me if You Can, Do You Hear What I Hear, The Butts Remix, Fishin' in the Dark/Boondocks... The list goes on and on. Thanks! ^_^
Awesome 👍🏼🤗🎼
