I’m wishing all of my Gitanos (subscribers ) a very merry Christmas. !! I will be live tomorrow here and Instagram. Thank you for a wonderful year 💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓
This was arranged by the beatboxer Adam Rupp. It was filmed at the Ice Castle that is in Minnesota every year. It travels every year. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Love your reaction.
They do talk about it in the "Hey" section as Pentatonix started and used to do. Homefree coming in 2 years later followed quite alot of the marketing techniques that had worked for Pentatonix.
That is correct. There is an ice castle built every year as a part of the Winter Carnival here in Minnesota, and every year it is stunning and gorgeous.
This song gives me goosebumps every time I hear it and it was arranged by Adam the beat boxer, his brother Chris Rupp has his own channel now where he's posted a kind of behind the scenes review of this performance. It's well worth watching. Merry Christmas to you and your family and all us Gitanos. :) xx
So glad you got to react to this one G, it's possibly the best version of this song out there and is so impressive. Hope you go back and watch/listen again several times to catch everything that goes on, including Tim dropping 4 octaves in about 4 seconds to hit some ear-gasmic bass.
Filmed about a mile from my home in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. The ice castle moves around the Twin Cities every year. BTW -- the Air Force Museum in Dayton is FABULOUS! We thought we could see it in one afternoon when we camped at the Air Force base there. Ended up spending three days at the museum during our stay! Happy Holidays to you guys!
This has to be at least four years old because Chris Rupp is in this video. I can't think of any Home Free video I've seen that was bad, and this is definitely another good one.
My God Gitana...it took you long enough to finally get to reacting to this song! 😎 It's become one of my favorite. Noticed in the follow up discussion from the group that Adam Rupp (the beat boxer) arranged this. There was some jazz style chords and arrangement that Adam threw into the song...very cool and extremely well done!! This clearly has to be the best arrangement of this song I have ever heard. Home free never ceases to amaze!
Don't know how I missed this one.. The fact you're wearing an Airforce t-shirt just made it better, I'm an Airforce Veteran.. Thank you for this G. Love y'all
I believe the video was shot in an actual Ice Castle in Minneapolis, Minnesota. I remember Austin saying something about how flipping cold it was there, but they got the video done even though they froze their asses off...LOL Btw, if you haven't done so yet...you should react to Pentatonix's cover of "Silent Night" It's done live, in a Church hall and no music. Absolutely fantastic!!! Also, if you haven't done it already you should react to Home Frees' cover of " O' Holy Night". They are in a Church as well singing this song......Absolutely amazing....Tim and Austin did a fantastic job with this one. Anyway, have a wonderful Christmas holiday and be safe.
You’re right, Home Free never lets us down. This is so good. The wind, the clapping, the deep, deep notes, Austin’s high notes. It’s perfect. They made this in an ice castle in Minnesota. They said it was 32F. Pretty chilly but it was perfect. I love this rendition. Love your reaction. Subscribed, don’t know what took me so long. Merry Christmas! Keep reacting.
Baby fry...given that this video was in Minnesota, the temp was probably closer to 5° F. 32° F is barely freezing, and the makers of ice sculptures (and ice castles) don't even think about starting till the temp gets down to the low 20s...with even lower temps in the forecast. That way they know the water will freeze fairly quickly and stay frozen. Minnesota is known to have some of the lowest temperatures in the nation throughout winter...many times they are lower then most towns in Alaska! We are talking about temps that get as low as 40 below zero Fahrenheit.
Hello G , took Home Free to make me like this song! This is a beautiful video & I always enjoy their voices so much! Out doing some last minute grocery shopping - so gotta go y'all! Much love, kindness, & positivity Half Pint & GITANO'S!💙💞💙🎅🤶🎄🎁🕊
at 5:22 in your video you hear Tim do a run that has been coined "5 octaves in 5 seconds" along with the insane bass line and percussion....LOVE this song.
All gifts wrapped and under the tree. Stockings are filled. Having the family over on Christmas Day for a big meal and gifts. We are expecting some possible snow so may have a white Christmas. Merry Christmas to you and your family.
Hi Gitana, I think I am right with you as I a very impressed with I will call " today's " A Capella groups. Home Free and Pentatinox are sort of their own genera and they are both heads above many of the regular groups in my humble. opinion, Who would have thought ? We love you Gitana, Thanks for putting up with us.
This is my favorite version of this song ever!!! I've never heard it sang better by anyone!! I grew up a pastor's kid and have heard this song by MANY people since I was a child...still,no one is better than Home Free!!😃thank you for reacting to this amazing rendition.✌
I am new to your page. Thank you, I love your reactions. Also new to Home Free ( about 3 months now), so it will be my first Christmas with Home Free. Enjoying the rabbit hole that is Home Free. Much love from South Africa.
Tim is from my home turf of South East Texas. Town called Nederland near the gulf, I’m from Beaumont. And Austin is initially from Abeline, Texas, if i’m not mistaken. Shoutout for the southern boys! 💪
All the old Crooners from the 50's and 60's made recordings of this...but Bing Crosby is perhaps the one that's done it most. Merry Christmas...Love you guys! It took place here in Minnesota. Every year they have what they call the St. Paul Winter Carnival and they make a huge castle an have dozens of amazing ice sculptures...it's pretty neat. Most of the country thinks we are nuts for living here because it DOES get so cold over the winter. I guess this is kind of our way of embracing the cold instead of crying about it like so many others do. We don't really like it either but we are stuck with it..so we get creative with it! :) Hope you guys had an Amazing Christmas!
Merry Christmas Shorty. Hey, do you know that Canada celebrates Christmas too. And guess what Rock and Roll band Canadians love....wait for it...................... .............. ..... ...... TRIUMPH performing live in concert in Halifax Nova Scotia performing Fight the Good Fight the video. And although I love Home Free, guess what they can't do? Play a guitar like Rik Emmett can. Yayyyyyy! Thank youuu...... I have another one! Sooooooo good. It is one guy from Pentatonix it is Avi Kaplan „ Change On The Rise“ Gooooooosebummmmmppps! 🤩. Merry Christmas 🎄
Well they done it again, another great one. Thank you young lady for sharing your time with us. You look great as always, can't wait for this mess to be over and y'all visit Texas. I would love a chance to meet y'all and make you welcome here. Stay safe and sorry about your new lock down rules. I know it sucks!! LOVE Y'ALL!!!
Just love this. And they did it on their Christmas special (only available to those who contributed to the campaign) a few weeks ago. Live (recorded) version with Chance. So good! 🎄❤️💚
This video is what sold me on Home Free. Perfection!! And I'll 2nd the suggestion for a reaction to their latest release, Beautiful Star of Bethlehem. It's amazing! Merry Christmas to you and your family!!!
Chris Rupp actually did a reaction video for this where he gives a lot of background information about the filming. Also, Lindsey Sterling used Ice Castle for her video "Crystallize". If you're not familiar with her, she does "dub-step violin". In other words, she dances while playing the violin. Even if you don't do a reaction video, you should check her out.
I'm glad you liked that shirt .. I'm USAF-Retired .. :-) .. If you ever get the chance, you and Donavan should definitely visit the USAF Museum in Dayton Ohio ..
Another non-Home Free song. "Do You Hear What I Hear?" was released shortly after Thanksgiving in 1962. The song was originally recorded for Mercury Records by the Harry Simeone Chorale, a group that had also popularized "The Little Drummer Boy", and released as part of the album The Wonderful Songs of Christmas with the Harry Simeone Chorale.
Home Free. When speechlessness becomes a habit. I'm not blown away by this, I'm starshipped away at least to the next galaxy. And this despite I usually detest christmas songs. 2:38 You always find the location described in the info under Home Fres's videos.
Another great song by a fantastic group. They never cease to amaze me with their talent. Took off work early today12/23. Christmas will be a lot different. I have a large family and we won’t be able to all get together this year. So I am going to attempt to make a cream cheese, bacon, shredded cheese and green onion cheese ball. One of my favorites. Also going to make some sausage balls, another staple around the holidays
Your missing a treat they’ve a new one with the Oak Ridge Boys and Jeffery East “Beautiful Star of Bethlehem” enjoy, Merry Christmas and a better 2021.
Love the Christmas feeling, but the Christmas shopping turns me into Scrooge. Love Home Free's version of this. And Tim's 5 octaves in 5 seconds ... Wow. The harmonies and Adam's beatboxing are what I love most.
You're right - there's a LOT going on in this song. You have to watch & listen several times to catch everything. Chris Rupp (former member who is in this video) has done a critical review of this video with a lot of behind the scenes info. It's very interesting - he pointed out several things I hadn't noticed before. You should listen to that - not necessarily review but just listen to it. This is one of my favorites of their Christmas songs - heck, of any of their songs. Merry Christmas!
Hey! You're wearing my shirt!! Or, um, the shirt I sent you from Dayton!! You apparently are a lot like my wife. She loves running around the house in oversized t-shirts and sweatshirts. Merry Christmas again!!
First time heariing this, loved it,love them more and more thanks to you dear lady. Have you heard them covering the Eagles seven Bridges road,it is awesome, if you haven`t please, please, check it out.
Another video you really should react to is "We Three Kings" sung by the Hound and the Fox and featuring Tim Faust from Home Free. It's overlooked a lot but it's so beautiful!
Now that you've done Pentatonix and Home Free, now it's time for VoicePlay. They're another acapella group and they are so good. They always go all out with their videos and arrangements. Their recent one You're A Mean One Mr Grinch is amazing. Their bass singer is insane
Please try "Run, Run, Rudolph". On their newest album. Featuring Stricking Matches, a pair of excellent guitar musicians. Adam tears this song up with his beatboxing. New respect for him when I thought I had heard his best. I was wrong.
I’m wishing all of my Gitanos (subscribers ) a very merry Christmas. !! I will be live tomorrow here and Instagram. Thank you for a wonderful year 💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓
Ice castle in Minnesota, they build it in a new place every year. This is at least 5 years old Chris Rupp is in it.
This was arranged by the beatboxer Adam Rupp. It was filmed at the Ice Castle that is in Minnesota every year. It travels every year. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Love your reaction.
the 1st time your jaw just drops. Yep 2015, as Chris Rupp is in this one, as he left the group in May 2016 to pursue a solo career.
I’ve been making Christmas cookies all morning, but immediately took a break when I saw this pop up. ❤️❤️
Oh thank you so much for watching ! I’ll bet the cookies are amazing 😻 what flavour ?
@@GitanaAdelle I made 2 batches of chocolate chip and a batch of snickerdoodles.
The location is revealed after the song. It was filmed in Minnesota at a an ice castle, I believe.
