I eat protein bars for breakfast & lunch. I have a healthy mid-morning snack of carrots & celery. I have a healthy afternoon snack of a piece of fruit. For dinner I have a well balanced meal with protein, lots of veggies & healthy carbs; sweet potato, quinoa, etc. & healthy fats. Portion control is important. I drink a lot of water throughout my day. I drink green tea for breakfast & have Oolong tea with dinner. I "try" not to eat a lot of sweets but I fail from time to time. Everything in moderation.... Joanna got me to buy a egg poaching pan. Sooooo good! I live a very sedentary life. I despise exercise & sit for work. Basically I count calories daily. I set my calories on how much I used to weigh & how much I should have weighed. Its amazing just how many calories food has it you take the time to look it up. I use a free calorie counting app on my phone. It holds you accountable for the portions. Joanna is awesome. Smart & knowledgeable!!!!

Fruits .. veggies ( specifically dark green leafy veggies high in protein and fiber).. water .. good fats in small portions( plain yogurt.. milk.. cheese NOT YELLOW cashews sunflower seeds almonds etc) again small portions as a snack .. high fiber foods .. low sugar .. some fruits that help burn fat are citrus fruits ( oranges .. tangerines .. pineapple.. lemon ) .. blueberries .. rasberries .. strawberry .. kiwi .. cucumber ... Watermelon is good for digestion ( high in fiber) .. also bananas high in fiber ... Eggs ( high in protein) ... Home made potato chips/ skins ( small servings) ... White meats such as chicken breasts or turkey ... If you eat fish then fish .. it has protein and fats your body needs. Popcorn that's not buttered or salted ( you can add cinnamon or seasonings low in sodium) it has a chemical that helps burn fat when consumed in moderation. Do remember though that your body does need some sodium. Black coffee or tea is a good substitute for juice or soda .. you can drink it cold but without sugar or cream .. it also helps to burn fat.
I agree the title is a bit click baity but everything she talks about makes sense. It's portion control and being aware of overeating. There are a lot of people who are not aware of this. I didn't learn anything in this video because I was already aware but I will be forwarding this video to many of my friends who don't understand "healthy" vs portion control.

It’s true... people sit there and say “omg I can’t lose weight, I’m eating all the right stuff... avocados and cooking my foods in coconut oil etc etc” what they DONT tell you is they probably have multiple avocados seasoned in different ways paired up with a large portion of salad*chicken with tons of dressing as well as eating lots of sugary fruit+drinking lots of juices etc. oh and the worst thing is overconsumption of almonds/peanuts. Very easy to gain weight.
Eat what you want , try to eat more veg and fruits ,eat balance full meals including fat protein fiber and carbs , don't think about calories, drink your water and work out , this is the tips to live a healthy amazing life , and weight lose will come by time just be patient , and if you feel to eat a cookie eat it try to made it at home if you can but if you crave oreo go for it remember you want to live not diet , take care 💙
I’ve had the experience of gaining weight while using energy bars. They aren’t as filling as one would imagine & as you shared I wasn’t doing high endurance training. So I have since eliminated them from my diet. Totally makes sense!! Thank you!!

It's all about balance! I agree with the chips, granola bars, juice, frozen yogurt etc. But peanut butter (the real stuff that only has one ingredient: peanuts) is good for you and so are avocados. They are real food and won't make you fat! None of this food will make you fat actually. Eating more calories than your body burns is what makes you fat. Not specific foods. Balance is key, deprivation only leads to weight gain in the end!
Fifi if your diet is centered around real food like fruit, vegetables, whole grains, etc. then yes, I think it is fine. I do, and my weight is healthy and normal. 👍

A lot of research lately has been tying weight gain to sugars(including refined carbs that get converted into glucose in your system). But to be fair people who slather on oil in their pans and eat a pile of it's and avocados instead of being aware of what their putting in aren't helping either. I've learned this due struggling with weight loss with auto immune disease and possible cushings disease
This is so true! When I started eating healthy my weight sky rocketed. I thought I could eat as much as I wanted because it was healthy. People who say all obese people eat fast food made things even worse for me because I never ate fast food!!

In VN, fruit and vegetable chips are called dried fruit/ vegetables. I didn't know why my fingers got greasy after picking these chips until my food technology teacher told us that these chips are not "dried", but fried at low temperature in vaccum. The oil used to fry will reach boiling point at much lower temperatures in vaccum, keeping the chips in good color and reduce nutrition lost.

Many people have heard that sugar is bad, and think that this must also therefore apply to fruits. But fructose is only harmful in excess amounts, and not when it comes from fruit. It would be incredibly difficult to consume excessive amounts of fructose by eating whole fruits. However, if you drink it, then you consuming large amonts of fruit sugar, which is bad! Exemple: If you eat one orange then is just one orange. If you drink orange juice then you actually eating 20 oranges! Because refined sugar is digested quickly, you don't feel full after you're done eating, no matter how many calories you consumed. The fiber in fruit slows down metabolism, as fruit in the gut expands to make you feel full.
That's true but fruit juices still tend to make you drink excess sugar. And like she ssid sugar is sugar. You would be better off just eating the actual fruit. Get less sugar and the benefit of the added fiber.

I cook my meals, follow my diet, exercise and don't abuse on these foods you talk about, and I still don't lose weight. I'm this close to learning how to do photosynthesis.
The only way to lose weight is being on a Caloric Deficit! You can do everything like working out everyday and eating healthy food but if you are not in a caloric deficit, you won't actually lose weight. Hope this helps!

Avocados, coconuts and nut butters won't make you fat. I've heard a lot of people say that since they went high-fat WFPB they have a more stable weight than when they were low-fat. I'm personally high-carb, high-fat and high-protein (mostly WFPB), and I don't put on weight, but my metabolism is also very fast.
Anime Trash I wish I could put on some! But the other people I mentioned were actually people who used to struggle with weight gain. Healthy fats and whole grains really aren't the enemy :)
mtrmoon If we were talking about extra-virgin olive oil and virgin coconut oil, I would absolutely agree, but in this case I don't. We're talking about whole foods. They won't make you fat unless you eat absurd amounts of them, but that applies to every food... Except vegetables, I guess. But you can eat a high-fat diet - consisting of healthy fats only - that includes those foods and you won't get fat because of them. Of course you can't eat 4000 or 5000kcal and be a couch potato if you don't have a fast metabolism, but that's another story.
the gluten free part and i got reminded of how many intolerances ive had or have... i've been gluten intolerant for two years (it got better), i'm lactose intolerant, and i'm sugar intolerant

I can't chew nuts & hard crunchy foods, I don't eat granola & other hard foods to chew & I have to mince peppers, onion & celery if raw & shred carrots for stirfrys. I do eat reg. Yogurt- probiotic kind only, & yes, occasionally I add Peanut Butter to stirfry w/ Soy sause or other liquids & eat w/jam for sandwich w/chicken noodle soup & usually make my own soups to control the ammt. of salt. I have HBP & a Slow motabolism now- but was considered Fast at diagnosis 15 or so yrs. Before Menopause & I am on meds for those 2 & Vit.D for Osteoperosis. I get my Calcium& Othet Vit.& nutrients from foids I eat. Leafy Greens & other Veggies, Beets, Cabbage, (Fermented & Plain, Raw & Cooked), Legumes, Beans, Tofu for added Fiber & Gut Health added to meats, healthy snacks, casseroles & salads & stirfrys, etc.) I have to say- a few yrs.ago I tried at TraderJoes that GreenTea Mochi Mini Ice Cream. (Bon Bon type shape) Loved it. Also GreenTea Ice Cream Homemade. At an Ice Cream Stand w/ out a covering like the other boxed Mochi, & that was delicious too.😊

i was having this protein balls made with nuts and jaggery which i made at home but i notice that i was gaining weight and then i realised that i used to have 4 protein balls a day sometimes 2 at night seriously healthy foods can also cause us to gain weight

There is a difference between sugar in Coca Cola and natural sugar from fruit/ fruit juice.
Obviously but fructose and sucrose are still both bad if consumed too much.

Many people have heard that sugar is bad, and think that this must also therefore apply to fruits. But fructose is only harmful in excess amounts, and not when it comes from fruit. It would be incredibly difficult to consume excessive amounts of fructose by eating whole fruits. However, if you drink it, then you consuming large amonts of fruit sugar, which is bad! Exemple: If you eat one orange then is just one orange. If you drink orange juice then you actually eating 20 oranges!
Because refined sugar is digested quickly, you don't feel full after you're done eating, no matter how many calories you consumed. The fiber in fruit slows down metabolism, as fruit in the gut expands to make you feel full.
That's true but fruit juices still tend to make you drink excess sugar. And like she ssid sugar is sugar. You would be better off just eating the actual fruit. Get less sugar and the benefit of the added fiber.

The only way to lose weight is being on a Caloric Deficit! You can do everything like working out everyday and eating healthy food but if you are not in a caloric deficit, you won't actually lose weight. Hope this helps!

Avocados, coconuts and nut butters won't make you fat. I've heard a lot of people say that since they went high-fat WFPB they have a more stable weight than when they were low-fat. I'm personally high-carb, high-fat and high-protein (mostly WFPB), and I don't put on weight, but my metabolism is also very fast.

mtrmoon If we were talking about extra-virgin olive oil and virgin coconut oil, I would absolutely agree, but in this case I don't. We're talking about whole foods. They won't make you fat unless you eat absurd amounts of them, but that applies to every food... Except vegetables, I guess. But you can eat a high-fat diet - consisting of healthy fats only - that includes those foods and you won't get fat because of them. Of course you can't eat 4000 or 5000kcal and be a couch potato if you don't have a fast metabolism, but that's another story.
It's funny when people think healthy food isn't going to make them fat xDDDD

I can't chew nuts & hard crunchy foods, I don't eat granola & other hard foods to chew & I have to mince peppers, onion & celery if raw & shred carrots for stirfrys. I do eat reg. Yogurt- probiotic kind only, & yes, occasionally I add Peanut Butter to stirfry w/ Soy sause or other liquids & eat w/jam for sandwich w/chicken noodle soup & usually make my own soups to control the ammt. of salt. I have HBP & a Slow motabolism now- but was considered Fast at diagnosis 15 or so yrs. Before Menopause & I am on meds for those 2 & Vit.D for Osteoperosis. I get my Calcium& Othet Vit.& nutrients from foids I eat. Leafy Greens & other Veggies, Beets, Cabbage, (Fermented & Plain, Raw & Cooked), Legumes, Beans, Tofu for added Fiber & Gut Health added to meats, healthy snacks, casseroles & salads & stirfrys, etc.) I have to say- a few yrs.ago I tried at TraderJoes that GreenTea Mochi Mini Ice Cream. (Bon Bon type shape) Loved it. Also GreenTea Ice Cream Homemade. At an Ice Cream Stand w/ out a covering like the other boxed Mochi, & that was delicious too.😊

i was having this protein balls made with nuts and jaggery which i made at home but i notice that i was gaining weight and then i realised that i used to have 4 protein balls a day sometimes 2 at night seriously healthy foods can also cause us to gain weight
nazia mir For me I soak peanuts in water put in fridge 5 hour and fat comes out. The soaked peanuts high in protein Iron and low fat very good.
