That's awesome. Just ordered the sur-ron Black edition from Luna. I think it's going to take awhile before it comes in, but right now I'm gathering all the information I need before it comes in. Thank you for all the information, I'll be watching your videos, for the latest info. I'm excited about future of electric bikes and their ranges. I have a feeling it's going to be interesting.

Very cool. You might want to check if your tires & your wheel bearings are speed rated for 80 or so. Also if you hit debris on the road it would be life changing. Suit up well just in case.

@3:20 you said you programmed the controller to discharge at a max of 140 amps. I would not recommend going that high even though your below the peak or burst discharge rate (which is 17 amp per cell), as the voltage sag must be horrendous, and constantly doing this would shorten the life considerably. When I get my Sur-ron, better would be to build another 60 volt pack (15S 10p) and connect in parallel to the original pack and now a discharge rate of 140 amps is nothing. Each cell would be seeing 6.5 amps. Better performance and much less battery sag. I will be using EVE 18650 2650 mah 5C cells. Cant wait to test and see. My question is at 140 amp x 60 volt (8500 watt) or generally up to 10000 watts will the motor still live?

I like it. Would love to get a e bike like that. Would have to be a stealth bomber type though. But they way way to expensive. A good battery for your bike is what about $800? Even the cheapest stealth bomber types I've seen are still $3,500. I've built 2 stroke bikes and got a phatmoto 2020 4t 2ts fully modded hitting 50s easy with room for improvements on all 3 bikes and im under $1,400
Gas bikes are definitely cheaper mph vs dollar. But the ebikes are a fresh look at a future for the sport.
Why not a bac8000? Should I follow suit and go with a bac4000 or why didn’t you go 8000?
The BAC8000 is for the folks who like insane torque. The BAC4000 is for protecting stock batteries.
The 4000 is capable of 400amps. The motor is not. The 8000 would be better for upgrade motors and batteries.

Change the gear ratio and it will go faster for sure, the torque looks like it would pull this to 80 if the motor wasn't spinning so fast
It’s out of power and drag limited at this speed. Less aero drag and it will go faster.

You can get these tested with the dvsa then you need to do insurance ,tax and MOT, so basically the same as a motorbike.

I think you should hit up Alan again to configure or get some consultation on that 72V battery to get the most out of it. I believe you might be hitting the RPM limit on the Sur Ron motor, which is the LR Big Block? If so, Alan might have a few tricks Delta/Wye or custom controller settings to get more rpm from it. Congrats on the speed though that is definitely fastest I've seen for 60V. I've seen Alan hit 78 but that is on a 72V 30kW dual hub setup. On his current LR Big Block custom ebike, I don't think he hit those 70s. This might be due to him living a safer life now... Note, the mid drive LR Big Block is much more efficient than his dual hub before and still has good speeds. For range, in the EV world its all about efficiency while his dual hub 30kW can probably go 90; it sucked up juice like crazy.
I have a ~3kW Cyclone ebike gas generator hybrid (battery with embedded gas generator in frame). This is purely a motorized bike. I might go full electric and do like a 72V used LTO (~1 kwH) or EV (3-4 kwH) battery setup this year or maybe I just go buy a 125cc =(
I’m already set up for 72v. And we are nowhere near the rpm limit. FW allows huge topend extension.

Use a bigger rear sprocket for better climbing. I use 58 tooth, stock is 48 I think

Question is, the alternative is $1800 for the 72v plus ~$4-500 for the BAC 4000.... Just for a bit more top end? And then it would probably be sensible to at least upgrade the tyres too, if not other things

70mph on 60v is insane. Just goes to show mid drives are able to achieve speeds hub motors can't.
Idk about that seen a 5kw stealth bomber doing same speeds not 100% on set up but its hub wheel and has enough take off to easily left frontend up from dead stop and pulled up when going 30mph already guy just pulled and almost spun the bike
from the clip I get 0 to 60 in about 13secs, not bad because I don`t think you wound it full on strait away.
That could be kph. Do it right and have the speed verified via GPS.

Does not work & Alan won’t return calls,emails or txts. All I need is a link 2 upload 2 my display. I guess @ this point I’ll sell you mine 4 next 2 nothing. It’s worthless 2 me. Alan makes time for u but nobody else.
What are you having problems with? Setting it up?
It’s set up, put 2gather properly, setting it up is not more than connecting a few wires & plug in the harness. My problem, I presume is the display. I turn the throttle it shows up on the display but nothing happens. Alan responded 1x when it finally showed up but didn’t work. sent me a new update which was supposed 2 fix it. But the NXT 1.0 file won’t upload 2 the display. & if it didn’t work out of the box... I don’t know how this update would work. I hoped It would but nope. I’m no expert but I think I need the original file, load that 1st & hopefully after that the NXT 1.0 would load. There r 4+ updates since the 1.0. I’ll try them next. Maybe 1 day Alan will grace me w/ a txt, an email... a fix. But no response in about 2wks. I only waited 3.5 months 4 it 2 get here. I was frustrated when I kept being told, “it’s going out 2day”. That went on 4 about 3wks rt b4 the new yr. now it’s, feb, 8,9? Lost track🙈

so my question is this. If you can run 70mph on a stock battery, why arent these guys that throw a 72v battery in run 70-80mph? It's crazy that you can run 70 without a battery change, proves that gearing is more important than most people think

Very disappointed in your website everything is out of stock, I’ve have my Surron for about 3 months and I love it but it’s not as durable as everyone makes it seem on the videos and the lack of replacement and aftermarket parts is discouraging
I use mine for daily commuting and haven’t had a single failure yet. Thousands of miles. Maybe you are being very hard on yours.
