Here's an idea for a show guys. Get a silent running diesel generator, run it on old veggie oil and use that as a recharger. It'll be a completely sustainable vehicle which is right on par with modern thinking.
Look at horsepower logic youtube channel he has a surron that does 90! Jack the owner knows where to get upgraded batteries and controllers for this bike. He shows all the parts he uses and who makes them and how to get them. He reviewed the surron at stock and the range it got was impressive.

Just like you said during the video, Segway just threw a bunch of money at the production company (Sur Ron) so they can slap their name on it, make bogus range and power claims, and rip people off. Sean, buy the "X260" version from Luna and support an American company. They only charge $100 more than the weaker Segway version you just bought! I've owned 10 street motorcycles, dual sports, and dirt bikes. This bike is amazing and is the most fun I've had on 2 wheels. Been able to take them to local regional parks and trails where I could/would never take a dirt bike. Absolutely worth every penny buying from Luna Cycle. They ship in 2 weeks, their customer support is A1 and they sell extra batteries, parts, and also make all sorts of aftermarket upgrades for the bike. No reason to buy from anywhere else!
@D They were originally exclusively sold in the US by Luna for years, that was the agreement with Sur Ron. Then Segway threw a bunch of cash at Sur Ron so they could undercut that deal. On top of that, Segway claimed they spent "years researching and developing" the X260 and boasted bogus range claims. Everyone in the original community knows all they did was slap their badge on it and make an app. All the people who buy from Segway and join our groups quickly find out they made a mistake buying from them. They paid extra for long shipping times and terrible customer support. Now we hear they're also throwing money at channels and magazines to have them give disingenuous reviews of the bike. Nothing but shade coming from Segway.
All segway does is rebrand other people's products. That's a suron and there is tons of aftermarket support. Buddy of mine rides up some gnarly hills with that thing. Battery lasts like half a day of riding so grab an extra battery or higher capacity. He's done so many upgrades to it controller, battery, rear sprocket, longer swing arm, custom rear plastics.
those brakes are trash, those are entry level mountain bike brakes. They suffer a lot from brake fade and my bike is only 9kg. I imagine who bad it is on that ebike.
It also appears to lack headlamps, but given you've added a generator in the back, it might not be too difficult to plug in a lamp and weld it to the front...
I agree with you on the generator thing I always wondered why they didn't make a hybrid with a little gas powered motor that just charges the battery but I suppose that's counterproductive

I think Segway measures the range with it on the lowest speed/power settings. A lot of brands do this when measuring battery life for their devices.

All segway does is rebrand other people's products. That's a suron and there is tons of aftermarket support. Buddy of mine rides up some gnarly hills with that thing. Battery lasts like half a day of riding so grab an extra battery or higher capacity. He's done so many upgrades to it controller, battery, rear sprocket, longer swing arm, custom rear plastics.

Go to Sur Ron, they have the batteries. There are a couple of companies that sell sur ron bike which this is.

those brakes are trash, those are entry level mountain bike brakes. They suffer a lot from brake fade and my bike is only 9kg. I imagine who bad it is on that ebike.

I have a badass headlight and tail light for my mountain bike that works great and would mount right to it without any mods.

Honestly I’d never spend the money to buy one of these, but it does look like it’d be pretty fun to mess around on. Cruise around the neighborhood or run to the store. I think it’d be kind of fun

After hearing him mention the 260 battery I checked eBay. A powersports dealer has the Segway x 260 for $1759.99. That’s half the price of the bike! And much easier to find than he let on . . .

Put the camerman upfront and interact with him more.
