I made fun of my friend for buying a chinese 250cc gio dirt bike back in 2011. Well 9 years later hes still riping around on it with no issues, meanwhile I had to take my 2010 ktm into the shop for major problems twice.
A KTM 250 and a chinese 250 are not even in the same league. ANY of the big 6 manufacturers (KTM, Husqvarna, Kawasaki, Honda, Suzuki, Yamaha) make dirt bikes that are far superior to any chinese brand motorcycle. The chinese bikes cost 1/10 of the price of a real bike for a reason, they are not even comparable in quality or performance. Go to any local motocross track and you’ll see lots of KTMs, they are one of the most popular dirt bikes right now, and you will see zero china bikes on the track. I would know, motocross tracks are where I spend most of my weekends and in the 10+ years I’ve been doing it, I’ve never even seen 1 chinese bike on track, they’re seriously that bad. I occasionally see one in the pits used as a pit bike, but even as pit bikes they are heavily outnumbered by the big 6. My friend recently bought 2 chinese 250s brand new from amazon and they both suffered serious failures in the first 10hrs of use. I have quite a bit of motorcycle experience, mostly with dirt bikes, and my advice is to steer clear of any chinese made motorcycles, even as a first bike or pit bike, they are more trouble than they’re worth, just buy a name brand used bike instead, it’s a much smarter move in the long run.

I had a 2005 TaoTao 125 and they have come a long way. We still had a lot of fun on that thing and we sold it for more than we bought it for. Just a couple of the parts we replaced on the TaoTao would have been over a grand on a Japanese bike. We spent maybe 50 bucks on parts over the 7 years of riding it. It was a lot of fun. The new ones are substantially better too. Just don't think you can keep up with a Japanese bike, because you won't. Not made for competing with a Japanese bike, made for fun and getting your feet wet in riding bikes.
Those engines what are used are monkeytype or "pitbike" engine. All of those 50-212cc pitbike engines with universal pitbike/honda 50 will fit any where. Its usual to fit 190cc engine to 50cc frame no problems. So thats why they look same and i bet theyre from same factory. Most of pitbike parts are interchangeable. Good video! Also make sure to change the oil in these bikes before starting to good oil the shipping oil isnt best. Also make sure to locktite everything that you can. Bigger engines and some yx125 have secondary clutch. With secondaries you can kick them when they are in gear or clutch pulled in. Good video keep up!
For my first bike I bought an Apollo 125cc and everyone laughed when I first got it, I learned to ride for a fraction of the price and was able to afford a nice bike when I felt comfortable

@@staryucheny6698 it's a decent bike but I had some clutch problems but I had the same problem as Shawn. That was an easy fix.
It started up in a few kicks but the first few I accidentally left the kill switch on and it didn't start obviously.
I took it off roading and the stator sensor thing got knocked out and it broke so I had to replace the stator unit which was moderately difficult.
But it is very loud, especially for a neighborhood.
I would say this would make a decent 1st bike, and it's so cheap I paid for the entire thing (but my dad paid for shipping).
@@mrfilmer9270 as a starter bike, if it runs okay for a year and doesn’t drain your wallet faster than the hookers on Arabian beaches then i guess it’s fine, ride safe
Thankyou for the bible verse of the week it motivates me and helped me
2:43 "bamm hentai is good enough"
Bruno Luz de Jesus I-
Those silt hills though. Reminds me of my home town so many memories of the coal ruins. Love it man
be cool to see a follow up of this at some point to see how long the other lasted, and what actually went wrong with the potatao
Hey Sean. Thanks for continuing to upload contents! I am a huge motorcycle guy and is currently on lock down (can only go out to buy groceries). You really inspired me to buy a decent bike (currently have a Yamaha FZ 150cc) after this freakin' quarantine. Much love from the Philippines!
i have the apollo 125 and let me tell you they are actually great bikes for pits or riding small trails. I have a kx 250 with a boyesen built motor that is great for the track and taking on the weekends but i ride the apollo way more often on the small trails around my house.
ye... Because thats the whole point of them.. old simple over here
Riding slate dumps must be a Pennsylvania thing! This brings me back to my childhood. Grew up riding dirt bike on slate dumps in SW PA
koskey06 legit was my thought I was like this has to be In pa only place I rode slate dumps!
I thought the same thing, there’s one 2 minutes from my house
Thought it looked familiar. I guess we only have spots like this in pa.
Thank you for adding the Bible verses I really like and appreciate them, God bless
@Carl Schmidt rude. Lmao
Hmm, that place looks REALLY familiar. Is that Trevorton? It has to be for sure.
BuNcH007 yeah it is
Those engines what are used are monkeytype or "pitbike" engine.
Not even broke in yet and rev’d it out first star up, then went out to scream up hill climbs. This is why these bikes smoke or tick when you go to buy a used pitbike 😬😬😬
Improper break in to the fullest!!!!!! Smh
10:00 he put a different carb lol, skewed results?
Better to have a beat-up-to-hell old Kawi or Suzuki, than this! And good luck trying to pursue that 3y warranty from Amazon. LOL
I believe the “triangle on a bolt head isn’t for direction or anything other than the manufacturer. They’re out of Canada but I can’t remember their name. Slash marks indicate bolt hardness/strength. I think.
I suppose it’s a hardness? In aviation I think so with AN parts. Probably to indicate chromium alloyed also
When he said, "this was built for smaller people" i felt that
Love the verse of the week
So what was the point of this if u just went ahead and added a carburetor to one of the bikes??
The gearbox issue happens on the cheap bikes sometimes, the Kickstarter mechanism sticks and you have to rock it in gear back and forth to release it and kick it over again lol
I love how you put bible versus in your vids
I respect and appreciate you guys describing them and testing them out! Love you guys ✌️
Why is yours heavier? The awnser is always, "Genetics." Thank you Tango and Cash.
Great vs - Great video!!!
They put neutral in the middle so that when you’re racing and you’re shifting
down into first you don’t go into neutral
Err.....who races in 1st??????
10:01 My man with the rapping
There's one now called the X-Pro Hawk DLX 250cc
For $2100, has pretty good reviews, even on youtube, top speed of about 70 mph.
"TAY-O Tay-o" lolz
"Some guys just have bigger boxes"? I sure hope not!
His laugh sounds like the ghost from morticy and rigby
I always love the Bible verses 👍💖💖💖
Caleb, feel my hard.....

That MCO is important.. need it for getting a title for the bike.. Please don't lose that! Lol! Thanks for the great video!
Yeah he broke the challenge rules cause as he bought a part of the challenge is to use them stock so honestly but hey Caleb got to keep his bike in the end so I’m happy
The US Amazon it’s amazing how can u order a whole bike 🤣🤣
Yes, Caleb! You the man! 🎉😂
Great content Sean, however, Im not sure that I will be trading my Japanese bikes in anytime soon lol
