Got into bikes a few years ago after trying a TINBOT E-cross. Can’t remember the exact version but it was clutchless & super impressive for a newbie like me. Started looking for other e-bike options immediately for trail riding but ran into some logistical issues. So ended up with an Apollo RXF 19/16 gas bike to learn the basics. Had zero expectations & right from the start, a bunch of parts were missing. Had to hit up the dealer for spares. Got most of them eventually, but it was a hassle figuring out what was missing. For a cheap bike around $1.5k the build quality was okay but there were quirks like zero valve clearance out of the box & bolts falling apart so you gotta be careful. Spent quite a bit of time balancing the carb, & now it runs pretty well. But honestly I wouldn't want a bike with so many surprises & maintenance costs anymore. As a first one it is ok. But this clutch-based electric bike is actually pretty interesting even having shitload of surprises & super nasty sounds.
