You da' man, Jack! Your Sur-Ron is the best eBike project on RUclips...aero it (of yourself) and let's see it break 90 and then 100 mph! #WorldsFastestSurRon
You will not!! be disappointed with the Tektro twin caliper setup! I have it on my ebike, I've actually stripped inner tube valves off before due to the braking force spinning the tyre on the rim!! I now have a white marker to draw a line over the rim and tyre to check for tyre creep! I also had to glue the tyre on!
Thanks for the review Jack Cecil. In fact the BAC8000 give you superior performances at high speed because there is more phase current. The total phase current that your controller deliver( 570A phase) is the TOTAL phase amp that make your motor torque AND field weakening. So if you use let say 33% field weakening to boost torque at high rpm, than the remaining PHASE amp to the motor is 66% of that 570A phase. so in reality you have 376 A phase to the motor. The 188 A phase are for the torque boost taken by the field weakening. A bac4000 with a total budget of 430 phase amp would give you 283 phase amp and 141A for the firld weakening. Just remember that phase amp and field weakening amp are the total budget of phase amp that your motor controller is giving. Adding field weakening reduce the remaining phase amp that contribute to the torque before the BEMF = batt volt.
Hey question, I have the same set except I am running the 72v gladiator compact, can you tell me why phase amps seen to be about double the regular amp rating. Thanks
Thank you for all your contwnt and hard work. I have been looking for real dyno number on some of these upgrades, and you are the only legit info I have found. Thank you
The biggest mistake I made was buy an ASI 8000 controller straight from ASI. It doesn't come with the wiring loom, only the plugs. Fat lot of good that does. Emailing them gets you nowhere and it"s definitely not "plug and play". Really disappointing. I have since brought the whole setup from ERT and I'm waiting waiting waiting for it to arrive. All I want is my bike to go hard out like yours. Garth.
so, no need to buy the X edition if going to upgrade with bac 8000 and lightspeed 72v, correct? where can I buy to ship in US as luna only has X black version? thanks!
Put a alternator where the pedal kit goes similar to regenerative braking but instead you’ll have an alternator giving you a little bit of a charge So your battery can last longer. I would still use that fan to cool that 8000. The belt drive is really bad ass. I got a question will 270 amps turn you into dust if you were to get electrocuted. They sell custom horns with different horn tunes
I have just bought a light bee x. Can you advise on the best upgrades. Not wanting to speed a fortune but want to increase power and possible range. Thabks
Is the dyno bike red or orange? Can't tell if its just the lighting but it looks a reddish orange. I want to get that color and know they have both. Hey and so you can just slap that 72V battery right in with the original controller? If it's that easy I think I will do also. Good video on that one too. I am getting this bike. Thanks

Hello from the uk hope your keeping safe. I have one question could you make an adapter to plug in a charge Point when out and about so you not just limited to the 30-40 miles
Hi, also from the UK. The problem with charging while out and about is the size of the chargers for plugging into the likes of a chademo, just take a look at newzeroland's channel from New Zealand he has a zero bike and the size of the aftermarket fast charger he installed is about the same size as the speed controller on this one. Doable to mount it, maybe as a fake tank or something or you could use a small charger though it would probably take a couple of hours to charge, so you might be as well just taking the AC charger with you in a back pack and plugging it in at destination. It all depends on how you intend to use the bike, it is really designed as a short range commuter or trailie.
Yes, the ASI EST BAC 2000/4000/8000 controllers will all run with both the stock 60v battery and the 72v litespeed battery. The stock sur ron controller won't run off a 72v battery though.
Hey Jack let me know if someone 6'3 fits on that thing properly. Because bike looks kinda small. Need to know before I pull the trigger. Great video like always. Need something stealthy 😁
Motorbikes in Euro have suspension and rounder tyres with grip around edge so on twisty roads it won’t lose grip. American bikes tend more to run on straight roads as they have more of them than in Euro which have more of twists and ubends. Electric pushbikes are not due to size of tyres

Hey jack. I just installed my bac8000 but I have a couple questions about it. The top bracket was drilled in the wrong spot and the bracket is at the wrong angle. It was sitting too low to clear the motor bash guard. It was also pointed towards the ground instead of hugging the frame. I re drilled the holes in the top bracket but it looks pretty ugly now. I have 3 brackets for the bottom with 3 holes in each one but don’t see a way to mount them. Did you use your own custom fabricated brackets or use what was sent? If you used what was sent did you receive the correct hardware to bolt it on? The instructions that came with it were 100% useless as far as mounting the controller. The wiring/programming was very simple but the brackets/hardware I received really missed the mark.
Maybe do a braking test before and after. I guess that if it’s a saint copy it’ll be better than twin tektro brakes, not considering fade. Happy to see it tested though. Good work Jack!
