      How does gearing a bike down give you more range?

    • @ethanreed3718
      @ethanreed3718 2 года назад +1

      @@mountainflyhigh Better leverage against the wheel, less effort to move it. Similar to using a 1 foot breaker bar to break torque on a bolt vs a 3 foot bar. Sure you can do it with the 1 foot bar, but you put way less effort into it with the longer bar that has better leverage. Same concept with the sprocket except now the bar is a circle instead of a line.

      These bikes are a lot tougher than most people realize. I'm 6'2 220lbs and ride mine on pretty technical single track here in Hawaii. Crashed plenty of times and fell off a few cliffs. The bike is fine. With an 18" rear ,running a 3.50" kenda tire the bike hooks up great and climbs like a goat. Fox 40's for a front fork tamed the harsh front end. Check out Mark Hotta or The Chronic Sur Ron Couple's channels. They've been hammering away and testing these bikes for some time, both with motocross and trials/trail backgrounds. Fun people to ride with when I can keep up.

    • @Nik-gh6gz

      @@ff24 sure the bikes are tough but what I meant is that they will never be more than high power electric mountain bikes. The fox 40 is a mountain bike fork and the roxshox it comes with is too. The chassis and suspension of these bikes won’t ever be more super duty electric mountain bikes.

    what are you at for sprockets right now? Super cool that it can go so fast now, but at full throttle if it does draw 13KW then you are looking at about 10 minutes of runtime. Obviously you wont be at full throttle all the time but dang still wish you could get more out of it, Wonder if it would be worth putting into a bigger frame that allows an extra battery run in parallel. See how many batteries you can fit to be the same weight as a four stroke bike.

    I've been thinking about making an e-bike, that can go at least 80. It would be cool to get a licensed so I can drive to work.

    @edwing olding What is the range now with this new setup, is is greater or has it lost it's range because of the power , and consumption increase?

    I don't see any charts mentioning range etc.. With all this extra power, what are you looking at in range? Let's say not always blasting full throttle?

    In the uk you need to road register these with insurance and have at least a moped licence to go on the roads

    Does your motor heat up?
    Will this cause your motor to burn out?

    Edwin, can you add the 72V 8000 BAC to a Segway?

      An x260 yes. You could technically do it to a x160 But then I wouldn’t recommend going over 7000 W
