It's one thing for the younger cat's to pay tribute to Cornell. But for the previous generations, it's really something. None of us will get over this. Incomprehensible.
+ Duffer Man I agree completely. Microdosing on MDMA, psilocybin or LSD may have been much better. I really hope headway is made with those treatments for depression, which by most accounts are amazingly effective.
Duffer Man couldn't agree more! i take meds for depression, dr said i could drink while taken klonapin once it got in my system, it can actually be a deadly combination but i no longer drink so i don't have to worry about that. drs give meds without actually knowing if the patient needs them or not.
Bob Pugliese It was accidental. His bodyguard gave him 2 Ativans and his widow says that when she talked to him on the phone his speech was slurred...this is a known side effect of Ativan. It is also lunked with suicidal thoughts. Not to mention almost everyone was truly puzzled on why Chris would kill himself. NO ONE believes he had this in mind before taking the meds. Not to mention Chris was a member of the Greek Orthodox church, the main reason he was sober for over ten years. Me personally...i think it was a setup. I dont know what for, but something ain't right...
activan is a treatment for anxiety not depression.depression is a possible side affect.it rarely causes problems unless mixed according to the medical journals.his bodyguard is supposed to protect him so why is he administering anything.now tmz reports fresh track marks.if you think he was sober your naive. rock stars are professionals at self administering and even better at hiding it.his wife said his speech was impaired. maybe at that point ypu call hotel security to check on him unless there's a chance of being busted.wait for the toxology report unless they cremate the before completion.religion is a great mask to hide behind(not all) if you go to church on sunday for an hour then you cant posibly get high.(really) I wittnessed priests priests drinking and being drunk the whole time(again not all but more than you think)this is the person you confess to free you of sin.read the bible and tell me where they came up with that and praying to saints and mary(sorry got side tracked) couple of examples elvis michael jackson prince weren't they religious and drug free. I think Chris was a great talent and I like the music. a legend is someone who makes significant changes in their field or has endured all the changes and still can sell out stadiums even after half their fans died because they appeal to new generations or they were here a short time and people still aknowledge them 50 years later.sorry but cobaine holds the legend status not by talent by timeing because he is recognized for pioneering the grunge movement
An artist who's famous two eras before him and already a legend before Chris made a name for himself is bowing down to him. Shows how he earned his place and respect as one of the greatest frontmen of all time!
Looking at all the different bands that paid tribute, he was clearly one of the most loved and respected men all around the industry. Every type of band out there seems to owe a lot to him.
Miller Foster998HN if you don't care then why are you even here posting? I was born in the 80's when heavy metal was running wild and when grunge came along I did not know what to think of it but I eventually embraced it and like it quite a bit. I have seen Brooks and Dunn and Alan Jackson in concert and they are both great but to shit on a genre just because you don't like it is pretty sad. Aerosmith is also great live and they put on one hell of a show. Go ahead and insult me because it really doesn't bother me.
Miller Foster998HN I never drank anything, if a band makes music that I like then I listen to it. I have quite a vinyl collection and I have stuff that ranges from the 50's until probably the 80's with maybe a record or two from this century. I'm 32 and only listen to the classics, not gonna listen to Kanye West or Bieber. Grunge was apart of my generation in the 90's just like rock was apart of my generation when I was really young in the 80's. By the beginning of the 21st century I really stopped embracing new genres because I think they suck.
Fucking brought tears to my eyes just hearing this knowing the legend Chris Cornell was as singer and song writer and that Aerosmith is just the fact that someone as huge as them would honor him this way speaks volumes we lost a godly voice that won't be forgotten.
I just have a whole deeper respect for Steven Tyler. I've always loved him, but seeing him bow to Chris was so respectable. Great Tribute, I just wish more musicians would pay Chris the tribute that he deserves, like Steven has here.
Chris was and is respected and loved by ALL. If a person can’t tap into Chris’ frequency and realize the gift he gave us then I feel sorry for them. He screamed our pain so we don’t have to. Incredible gift.
When you watch Chris cover "a day in the life" by the beatles, you can imagine bowie, dylan, mercury, prince, jagger, paul, john, george, and ringo sitting there like what planet is this dude from... chris cornell was just the best of the best of the very best. itll 500 years before earth sees that again
Shashwat Kumar I'm pretty sure it was the 1994 MTV VMA's, it seemed like a sarcastic thing because Aerosmith was nominated for best metal video for "cryin" lol.
+Kelly marie YES you're a sweetheart. Its' heartbreaking, brutally tragic, but there's also something beautiful about both Andy and Chris finally being put to rest. In any case, I hope another ToD-like album comes out of this.
We've lost many music icons over the years, but I must say that the amount of love and sorrow, expressed by people around the world in reaction to Chris' death, is absolutely phenomenal. The outpouring of grief and shock from fans, the media, and especially fellow singers and musicians, is a tribute not only to his talents, but to his character as well. So many fans have expressed their gratitude for his inspiration, and for his music getting them through some very dark times in their lives. The musical tributes from his peers, in respect and admiration for one of the nicest people in the business, is overwhelming. It will take awhile, but I intend to watch every single one of them. RIP Chris Cornell. You stood among giants, and towered above them.
"Sing with me Sing for The yearSing for The laughter Sing for The tear.." Perfect choice, may he find the peace he couldn't reach here in this Life. I'm so sad
For a long time I couldn't see the forest through the trees...meaning I was spoiled by Chris's genius and took it for granted...recognize genius when it happens and appreciate it...Chris was a special talent...once in a generation.. one of a kind
It's good that a legend played tribute to Chris Cornell as well. Aerosmith has been a band longer than I have been alive. Steven Tyler also went through his struggles with addiction and he is still here to tell the tale. The first time I heard Chris Cornell's voice I was seven years old. My babysitter was watching the music video playing on TV, Soundgarden and Audioslave bring back good memories when I was young. Chris Cornell will be missed.
Aww, This is so touching and makes me cry that all these bands are rising up to salute one of the greatest singers in rock history. I am grateful to be a part of this space in time and the memories Chris has given me over the years. We lost a legend.
Chris Cornell had a huge collection of great songs he made. I wish people would play more songs than just Black Hole Sun. It's a good song, but Cornell has a ton of great songs that were much better.
Chris is an all time out of this world talent that i will miss but im thankful i have so much of his work to listen to everyday along with the memories i have from seeing him with audio slave, solo and sound garden. Doesnt matter what they say about him. He is my hero... always !!!!!!!!!
It feels like Kurt all over again. The pain is deep. The wound opened up again and its going to take a L O N G time to heal. "No one sings like you anymore."

I knew Chris through PJ and PJ 20 and his work with PJ ,my heart goes out to the Cornell family on stage and those he left behind at home .Chris : please say Hello 2 Heaven for us all, and save me a front row set RIP
I will always remember the first time l got into audioslave the song I first heard was show me how to live. song inspired me so much to be strong.Rest in peace Chris Cornell you will always be remembered🙏😥
Tributes from Megadeth to Ann Wilson that shows how respected Chris was in the music community. This was an awesome tribute from Aerosmith. R.I.P. Chris you will be missed.
I wasnt a ever a huge Soundgarden, Audioslave or whoever fan, but I liked quite a few of their songs and saw Chris once with Soundgarden back in 2014. He gave off something that said he was very stable. Not the type to take his own life. I still can't believe he did this. I know he killed himself, but it's very difficult to believe he's gone from this earth. It's strange. I didnt think id think about it as much as I am.
Goonerville Gonad He always felt stable and calm up there. He hid it great. You didn't even hear about his alcoholism and drug use as much unless you looked into it back in tbe day. He always seemed in control and the one who would make it. He gave off that feeling too. Unfortunately he was just amazing at hiding it and I think that made it worse. That's why it's so shocking to people though. You always felt Chris would pull through. It's so sad.
He definitely had his demons and problems in the past, but he was stable and happy. He'd lived through poverty, seeing friends and peers dying, his band breaking up, pill and drinking addiction, rehab, an extremely long and bitter divorce, but in the past fifteen years he had put everything together and was happy with his family. The thing with this anti anxiety medication he took, it specifically can have acute terrible side effects especially in former opiate addicts and sufferers of depression that had suicidal thoughts in the past, of which Chris was both. I'm with his wife, I just don't think he was in his right mind. An hour before his final show he was making plans with her for Memorial Day weekend. That's not something a person planning on killing themselves does. He even told the crowd in Detroit "See you guys next time," even though from footage he visibly seemed fucked up. I think he took a few too many pills to go to sleep (their other purpose) and his mind tricked him. It's fucking tragic, but this is the only solace I think his kids can get. That he loved them and it was an accident. Just terrible.
it's so very tragic that the meds that can be helpful in one moment can be so very damaging in another. He will be so missed. I think you summed things up perfectly. I really do wish we had better controls on what meds people took and how they took them. We lost Heath Ledger the same way, so very tragic
Carlo Von Sexron I understand all that but he planned this. There's no way he didn't think about it before. Here's my theory as I've dealt with depression. I think the timing and meds contributed. But he was in a bad place. Even if he hid it and said see you next time. I think the feeling of releasing all of it on stage, one of his outlets was music, gave him temporary relief. But when he got back to the room it hit him hard again. Anyway here's what I think. BTW I take Valium, have for a long time, and deal with depression. Two Ativan aren't going to do it. I think he had a good performance despite what some are saying. He's 52 and he was fuckin going off at the end. No one expects him to sound like he's in his 20s or 30s. That shit was one of the few times I felt it deep in my bones with him live. Unfortunately it's haunting as hell and speaks volumes. But the performance was unreal at the end. Here's what in think happened. He relies on his music obviously to vent and clear his head. It's how he copes with his depression. And when he wasn't singing he drank or used to cope. When he cleaned up singing was all he had. Which is why he came out like a cannon with Audioslave. He started to age more and did some other stuff. Solo stuff etc. He still had an outlet. But I think this past year or two he started to get very tired. Physically tired. And without that energy he couldn't perform like he wanted to. He was probably ready to collapse here, even though he sounded good and put every ounce of energy in it. He probably told himself he can't keep it up, especially soundgarden shows, and felt boxed in. I think he wanted the reunion again first nd realized it was to much. For a lot do reasons. Physically and bringing up the past. Started to think about suicide or at least some dark outlooks. Thought about how using wasn't an option and if he can't keep performing what will he do. Had an especially bad night physically and mentally, you could tell he was worn out, also took some depressants, and lost it. Felt suffocated and had no where to go. Had a panic attack and he did it. I think that's why he took the extra Ativan. He had a terrible night and as panicking inside. They probably made it worse unfortunately. I have a feeling he took a large amount during the show. I can see it. Reminds me of Benzos. And that "couple" extra he took later was more then a couple. It's sad as hell and fuckin tragic.
We will never know and just more proof that we need to do all we can do understand the evil monster of depression.. I have suffered from some really dark times too. And after some really negative experiences with meds, I just have learned to handle things on my own, sometimes successfully, sometimes losing days, weeks even months of my life by just walking through life, but not living it. We all make choices, I am far too afraid of what the various meds can do.. for me they cloud whatever clarity I might have. As as you said, it's sad as hell and tragic.
Chris Cornell's voice will forever speak to my soul and his words touch my heart... particularly through "Sunshower". A huge Aerosmith fan, as well, this is an amazing tribute to Chris. And I have to applaud you, backstagebug, on the awesome job you did in capturing this event through video!
I can't believe Areosmith is still rocking it today and still sound pretty dam good. If you would have told me 20 years ago that Steven Tyler would have lived longer than Chris Cornell I would have thought your crazy. I seen Areosmith live in Cincinnati Ohio a few years back and Tyler discussed his battles with drug addiction in a very sincere lengthy way. He is a inspiration to many people and has been through hell and back. For Steven Tyler to sit up on stage knowing what he's been through and relate that to Chris Cornell and his fans is truly inspiring and heart touching. This tribute was right on. It was a tribute to let the world know, we lost a legend in Chris Cornell, but Rock n Roll is still here. We feel the pain and remember the good times, but the music never dies. It's here for all of us, Chris left it here for all of us. Thank you Steve Tyler for this tribute. We all needed this. RIP Chris Cornell.
Fangalatic you shouldnt fuckin decide okay? I prefer rock horns in the air but it was the third time classic rock band visited Georgia so I see no problem that people wanted to record the historical moment.
Hey guys of Arrowsmith I had & hv tickets 🎟 to see you all in Tampa Florida next Yr. "24" I'm not letting those go! I plan on seeing u all, Since I grew up rocking to you all your music 🎶 🎶 & Now I'm 56yrs old! Still loved you all🫂🫂🫂❤️🤝🏻✝️
An awesome tribute the only one I watched so far. Aerosmith was my favorite band for years then I started rocking out with Chris n he became my favorite artist helping me through some tough times I think this is very helpful to my grieving process RIP Chris you will be missed
Wow the drummer really blows it at 4:36 Right before the big chorus. You hear Steve Tyler scream "Click!" Around 4:55. Trying to tell his drummer to get with the click track
Well he was lucky the others were good enough to clean up after him. Musicians get usually fired for less than that, in front of way smaller audiences, this has nothing to do with audience size.
Kind of eery how the music around 1:30 cuts out for a moment as Tyler walks out just as Chris is singing the line "No one sings like you anymore." Art imitating life?
Community holds us! We're so blessed by chris, Steven, layne, mike mcready.... those who are here in this reality helping, holding us. Doesn't matter if there are technical issues. Outlet for a generation's love, grief, soul-searching, path to recovery.... doesn't matter but is all important. Every tribute is a gift and an honor. A time to hold space and feel. We're so blessed to have this outlet. Lot of us didn't back in the 90s. Technology can be a curse, yet a boon in this time when seekers need to connect. Thank you to all that make this healing community a reality.
This crazy upside down, inside out world we live in, makes less sense than ever, when someone such as Chris Cornell makes the decision to check out. We need more like him here. There are so many questions always left unanswered. In honor of him, perhaps giving more compassion, understanding, peace, and love to ourselves, and then we may extend that expression to others. May ultimate peace be with you, and prayers extended to your family.
I had a crush on Steven Tyler until Chris came along. So sad he left feeling helpless and alone. A lot of folks don't understand but I believe that is a good thing. You don't want to understand. I've been there. It is not fun.
CC was a class act . That's why he has all the greatest paying tributes to him ! Noone could sing like Chris! SAY HELLO TO HEAVEN CHRIS and All your friends up there. .what a show that must be All the greatest from the 90s!
(sorry my horrible english, it's not my lenguage) In 2007 I was 19 and I went for the very 1rst time to the concerts of two of my all time favorite artists: Aerosmith (in march) and Chris Cornell (in december) This video remember my a beautiful time of my life. I'm so sad about Chris's dead, but I so proud to have see him and Soundgarden every time they came to Argentina. R.I.P. Chris. Thanks for your music.
mr drone I am with you on being outraged on the unprofessional selfishness of that human being just thinking of themselves..!!!! I hope they FIRED THE PHOTOGRAPHER..!!!!!!
She is Katarina Benzova, the GN'R photographer. She doesn't invade nor block the stage in such way at their shows... Not very profesional really. I get that she wants to get the best shots but, c'mon, don't fuck up other's vision.
I wish Chris could've seen all this love for him, and how many lives he touched, even new fans. I wish he had seen it, and will always wonder if it would've changed things.
ROOKTABULA It's Kat, she's the best photographer in the Rock concert business, I'm sure she had permission by Steven to be onstage. Not normally her style to be onstage, must be a reason why. She is an incredible photographer!
I've been to more than 30 live shows in the past 20 years (festivals, solo shows) since I turned 18 and not once have I ever seen that shit before, smh
welll this was the best 7m26s I got to see Aerosmith play right in my own personal front row seat. Watching a great performance and he and the band paying tribute to CC just touches my broken heart so deeply. I love this band. and RIP Chris Cornell.

almost 70 and still nails the high note! Amazing!
more impressed with him getting on top of the piano without smashing his head on the ground.
Klaus Meine, Mick Jagger, Robert Plant? All not only comparable, but perhaps better performers.
They're all great, but I think none of them can still reach such high notes. I was impressed!
Lol, no.
Which ones were those? It's rock 'n roll, baby.
Wow. A legend paying respect to another legend with an iconic song. Well done Mr. Tyler
That's the world we live in today. People paid top dollar for that ticket and choosing to record it is within their right

It feels like Kurt all over again. The pain is deep. The wound opened up again and its going to take a L O N G time to heal. "No one sings like you anymore."
I was there and it was totally mesmerizing!
One rock legend paying respects to the other!
Kudos to Mr. Tyler!

what an amazing way to celebrate chris cornell...beautiful.
Chris would be happy knowing that Steven dedicated such a classic song for him.
all I can say is this really hurts. loss, pain, words only. I miss this exceptionally blessed soul.

Two Ativan aren't
going to do it.
Thank you for all that you did, Chris. Rest in peace...
I heard this song the day it happened, about 10 hours after I had heard. This is haunting.
AN OUSTANDING GENIOUS IS GONE FOR HONEST ... RIP CHRIS CORNELL! YOUR MUSIC WILL ALWAYS BE DOWN HERE ... THANK YOU FOR THAT!
Muito obrigado Chris por tudo o que fez pela música e por tornar nossos dias mais fáceis. Descanse em paz!
Thank you Steven and Aerosmith this fitted perfect.
First time I ever heard Chris sing I was blown away. Outshined!
Chris was immensely talented but very underrated. I guess he didnt know how much people and even legendary musicans admired him.
Alguém que vendeu milhões de discos por todo o planeta não pode ser considerado subestimado.

One of the greatest moments in rock and roll history right here. I wish I would have been there. Thanks guys!
Very classy tribute by legends for a legend - thanks Aerosmith and RIP Chris...
No one sings like you anymore...
Love this! Beautiful tribute.
Chris, you're missed beyond measure.💔😢🤘
Beautiful RIP Chris Cornell
Erin Coley beatiful you
rodrigo mendoza get the fuck out
unreal.. those smartphones.. where is the respect?
Marcel Gubbels if not the smartphones you would have never seen that video. and we gave enough respect to Chris and to Aerosmith.
Fangalatic you shouldnt fuckin decide okay? I prefer rock horns in the air but it was the third time classic rock band visited Georgia so I see no problem that people wanted to record the historical moment.
Rest in Peace Chris Cornell from a Big Fan from AOTEAROA NEW ZEALAND
Steven Tyler, a cool cat with nine lives. God bless him!❤️
Omg this is powerful. No band...just the sound..and pics. BEAUTIFUL. RIP Mr C😪🙏🏻
what an enormous talent we lost, my deepest sympathy for all.R.I.P C.C

True respect to a Legend. RIP Chris
An awesome tribute the only one I watched so far. Aerosmith was my favorite band for years then I started rocking out with Chris n he became my favorite artist helping me through some tough times I think this is very helpful to my grieving process RIP Chris you will be missed
RIP
Nice tribute. He is almost 70 and still reaching those high notes, fuckng amazing, living legend
It's kinda sad to see so many people watching this moment through a smartphone tiny screen instead with their eyes.
Another legend in heaven... Chris had an incredible voice. RIP Chris We miss you
Wow the drummer really blows it at 4:36 Right before the big chorus. You hear Steve Tyler scream "Click!" Around 4:55. Trying to tell his drummer to get with the click track
@Jit Strike exactly! You can tell he wass pissed
Jit Strike nice catch...it's not the 1st time he's bitched at Joey. Steven is a better drummer than Joey, hell so am I hah
Amazing... they've been playing this song for decades and are overpayed to do so. YOU ONLY HAD ONE JOB...
Anna Moan have you ever played in front of 20k people? it was only one of them that messed up
Well he was lucky the others were good enough to clean up after him. Musicians get usually fired for less than that, in front of way smaller audiences, this has nothing to do with audience size.
It's hard for me to watch all these tributes and covers without tearing up. RIP Chris you are truly missed.
Thank you to all that make this healing community a reality.
amazing
This crazy upside down, inside out world we live in, makes less sense than ever, when someone such as Chris Cornell makes the decision to check out. We need more like him here. There are so many questions always left unanswered. In honor of him, perhaps giving more compassion, understanding, peace, and love to ourselves, and then we may extend that expression to others. May ultimate peace be with you, and prayers extended to your family.
Wow they still sound great
its amazing to see bands like aerosmith and megadeath doing tributes for chris
I had a crush on Steven Tyler until Chris came along. So sad he left feeling helpless and alone. A lot of folks don't understand but I believe that is a good thing. You don't want to understand. I've been there. It is not fun.
This is what I love about the Rock community. Beautiful tributes from everyone. So much love and respect.
im gonna shed a tear for this song. keep dreamin folks! not just for chris but for ourselves!
Love going to shows now and watching it through people's phones!!!!
thanks to Aerosmiths and rock funs'...........RIP CHRIS
By far one of the best and most respectful tributes to an amazing artist that has been done to this day
obrigado chris cornell!
CC was a class act . That's why he has all the greatest paying tributes to him ! Noone could sing like Chris! SAY HELLO TO HEAVEN CHRIS and All your friends up there. .what a show that must be All the greatest from the 90s!
Goddamn, Tyler's kept his voice in pretty good shape..
Very frustrating watching the photographer circle him on stage
mr drone right... I get it that's her job but stay the fuck off!
mr drone I am with you on being outraged on the unprofessional selfishness of that human being just thinking of themselves..!!!!
I hope they FIRED THE PHOTOGRAPHER..!!!!!!
She really ruined a great tribute. Rest in rock Mr. Cornell.
I agree, why was she on the stage??? Fine for other songs but this was special, she really ruined it...
I wish he had seen it, and will always wonder if it would've changed things.
r.i.p Chris
I appreciate the photographer documenting the moment. When in print, she will give us Steven's lasting memorial to Chris.
*Asks for a moment of silence*
*Audience cheers louder*
Am I the only one that was slightly bothered by this?
Kazdan Darkman
People are idiots. People are selfish and too stupid to show respect even for someone they claim to love.
I was there and I still feel the shame for that :/
People dont know English to understand
Beautiful, beautiful! it's a very nice tribute to Chris Cornell. I love Aerosmith!
Can anyone who's also been to a ton of concerts tell me when they've ever seen a photographer get on stage and start shooting pix? WTF?
ROOKTABULA It's Kat, she's the best photographer in the Rock concert business, I'm sure she had permission by Steven to be onstage. Not normally her style to be onstage, must be a reason why. She is an incredible photographer!
not that good she got on the fucking stage lol
I agree, telephoto?
Good rock photographers stay invisible...
I've been to more than 30 live shows in the past 20 years (festivals, solo shows) since I turned 18 and not once have I ever seen that shit before, smh
R,I,P CHRIS CORNELL.. YOUR SONG NEVER FORGOTTEN..
Tyler was right to pay tribute.
all those phones. people taking for granted that beautiful moment just to be able to watch it later or show it off on social media. so sad.
Wow!
welll this was the best 7m26s I got to see Aerosmith play right in my own personal front row seat. Watching a great performance and he and the band paying tribute to CC just touches my broken heart so deeply. I love this band. and RIP Chris Cornell.
Why would anyone feel compelled to scream and whistle when they ask for a moment of silence?
I'd love to see Tyler singing a Soundgarden song. A great opportunity. Btw a beatiful tribute. R.I.P. Chris. No one sings like you anymore.
