Chris dialed up a certain frequency that resonates with so many of us. A 🌠. He screamed our pain so we don’t have to. Incredible gift the wizard gave us.
I don't care about all those pretty boy actors who were laughing and breaking balls at the guys funeral, you can see it in the video, but in brad pitt's face I found unexpected sincerity and remorse, that struck a chord allright
I made the trip, even brought my daughter, to pay my respects to Chris some months afterwards. I was shocked, SHOCKED, to see how understated his burial plot was. We had trouble even finding it. When we finally did, it was like a 12 by 18 black marble plaque, inconspicuously placed by the edge of the grass. It seemed somehow wrong that this man was not laid to rest in a mausoleum like Sir Isaac Newton's. Going did not make me feel better like I thought it would; I thought "If that's all CHRIS CORNELL gets, then I will certainly one day depart this world with much less." But then I realized that his legacy is the body of beautiful music he created, not some polished rock somewhere.
He should have been laid to rest in Seattle. I can't imagine being buried in LA would be something Chris would have wanted. swacfan100 this is me too my friend...I was a into rap and hip-hop back the day then techno in the late 80s early 90s..but Chris an Soundgarden flipped me like a switch.. I'm even sat here right now total coincidence in a punisher t shirt... Bowie and Chris as famous peplwho died I've struggled the most to accept.. Just glad I could live in their time to enjoy their talents
Isn't that what Madonna said? "Oh no, no...please don't !" Loved by legions everywhere. She is the original Twisted Sister. Guess whose coming to dinner? Hide the forks! Especially if they are sterling silver. Ok bring out the plastic cutlery.
I was a bit disgusted too, but its actually kinda interesting to see these celebrities attend something like this. We mainly see these celebrities when they're doing some kind of performance. It's rare we see them as normal human beings who feel loss just like the rest of us. It's also interesting because when I think of Chris' friends, I think of Tom Morello and Chester Bennington. So it's neat to see Brad Pitt, Jeremy Renner, and Josh Brolin were also affected by his death.
Hollywood Forever Funeral Home is open view for the cameras to see. Celebs know they are being filmed. And the family and friends want it filmed, it a tribute, a memory, we were all invited to say goodbye... the distance keeps it from becoming a circus, and keeps it respectful.
I'm glad we all get to watch this. Chris Cornell affected so many people. We understand that when a loved one dies, you probably don't want a lot of people there. At the same time, everyone there understood how amazing Chris was and how many lives he touched. Don't forget, they did have a very private ceremony with only 4-5 people there when he was cremated. I think it's amazing that you see people like Joe Walsh, Brad Pitt, Jimmy Page, Jerry Cantrell, Chester Bennington, Dave Grohl, Christian Bale, James Hetfield, Tom Morello, Dave Navarro, Lars Ulrich, Kim Thayil, and more. I don't think ANY of them did it for publicity or because it was "the thing to do" for celebrities.
K. Zjorgen.K Only now we know how badly he was moved with Cornell's demise.. Shocked to the core! RIP Chester& Chris & Thx 4 ur incredible voices!!!! :'(
Jerry could care less about the Hollywood attendees. He went there to say goodbye to his long time friend and left. He wants no part of this Hollywood side show. Can't blame him.
You know he wanted to do some mean karate drop kicks on them. But all in all its sad to say but the public is sadly always so curious into how the rich and famous handle death which is kind of sickening that we (the public) can't give them the much needed privacy that they need during these times.
@Jewel Clark i would not say a majority. I think people just want to live and have meaning. When we die, that is it. So, humans in general just want a heaven on earth. People also don't like being judged and the poor are judged harshly.
Yeah true fans of Chris C hate that woman, she turned everything into marketing including the fucking funeral full of celebrities, as far as I know Brad Pitt was an actual good friend of chris, just look at the concert in honor of chris cornell... I’ve really never got to sad about a celebrity dying, BUT, Chris Cornell is a whole different story. I’m a huge fan and I was devastated when he died 😢
Maybe we are here because we love Chris and miss him in our lives but yes, it does feel like we are intruding on a private moment. Rest in Peace, Chris.🙏❤️
Freedom of the press. Yeah we might be. But if it wasn't here we would never be able consider ourselves part of this special moment. I'm sure Chris would be glad to have people witnessing this and being a part of his life in one form or another
Mourning is a human right - even for children. The notion of this being good for them is sorely mistaken. They should be allowed to understand and realize what they lost - they lost their FATHER, they supportrer, provider and loved one, a part of them died and they had every right to mourn. "Protecing' them from their feelings, makes them harden inside and this being the most significant loss to date, they will learn to act indifferently to more losses once they grow - friends, spouces, family... mourning is a natural human feeling and shouldn;t be supressed or erased, children should be helped through it. It's therapeutic and allows the connection between the living and the lost remain strong. People are not robots, they should be allowed to have feelings, feelings make humans more human. Go watch videos with Chris getting interviewed about Andrew Wood. Watch him tear up after years of his friend being lost, but then again, as it sems, he was a superior human in every aspect of the term. Consider children even more sensitive to feelings and acting on them. This is not natural.
I don't see his mom there? Was she there? This whole funeral looks so rushed, and tacky. The Hollywood Forever cemetery shows horror movies during the month of October, I believe. St. Sophia's Greek Orthodox Church is not that far away from this place, or at least they could have flown him home to Seattle...I feel like Chris deserved better than this...rest in peace, Chris.
4:37 dave just looks so bewildered, i'd hate to be rude and speculate but i can't help but feel like he's remembering some very unpleasant memories about kurt here.
Yesterday marked 7 years since his death, and God is still hurting. How is it possible for one to feel such a great connection for someone who is not part of your family and whom you have never met in person? However, he inspired so many people with his profound lyrics and beautiful melodies. RIP Forever CC
Maybe Chris & his wife were one of the nicest people in Hollywood. There were too many celebrities attending the funeral. And also the heartwarming performance of Chester Bennington made Christian Bale and Josh Brolin teary eyed.

So heartbreaking. Chris was unbelievable, so talented. He'll live on through the music because legends never really die. Now, Chester too. God it's heartbreaking. 2 legends. #RIPChisCornellandChesterBennington

Me so disgusted this this funeral was filmed by lurking distant cameras
But me can’t stop watching
I was a bit disgusted too, but its actually kinda interesting to see these celebrities attend something like this. We mainly see these celebrities when they're doing some kind of performance. It's rare we see them as normal human beings who feel loss just like the rest of us. It's also interesting because when I think of Chris' friends, I think of Tom Morello and Chester Bennington. So it's neat to see Brad Pitt, Jeremy Renner, and Josh Brolin were also affected by his death.
Me too. Pain does not discriminate.
Also you looking for likes. Don't
RIP chester and chris, two legends lost but not forgotten
2:40 RIP Chester Bennington
All that feeling in that hallelujah...💔 beautiful Chester
K. Zjorgen.K Only now we know how badly he was moved with Cornell's demise.. Shocked to the core! RIP Chester& Chris & Thx 4 ur incredible voices!!!! :'(
In a few years, 2 of my idols have gone, Prince and Chris Cornell ... always in my heart💜
Why didn’t they mention Jerry Cantrell here.
Cause they really don't know music
Bob Juff, damn right
Bob Juff and Jerry was friends with him too, all the other people are just fans.
Because everyone ignores Alice in Chains even though they were the darkest and most artful and technically proficient band there.
Jerry could care less about the Hollywood attendees. He went there to say goodbye to his long time friend and left.
He wants no part of this Hollywood side show.
Can't blame him.
4:40 Dave Grohl staring down the camera man.
You know he wanted to do some mean karate drop kicks on them. But all in all its sad to say but the public is sadly always so curious into how the rich and famous handle death which is kind of sickening that we (the public) can't give them the much needed privacy that they need during these times.
Dylan Ritchie dave is the man
Pathetic paparazzi
Looks like Dave Franco doing the same thing at 4:20
I kinda have this feeling that Chris never wanted a Hollywood lifestyle, it was just to keep his wife happy
@Jewel Clark really? I don't think all women, just some.
@Jewel Clark i would not say a majority. I think people just want to live and have meaning. When we die, that is it. So, humans in general just want a heaven on earth.
People also don't like being judged and the poor are judged harshly.
@Jewel Clark everyone is judged harshly but the poor are judged as "deviants" on top of a stressful life.
I personally do not like mr musk.
@Jewel Clark i will have to l9ok that up, about his foundation. But, I'll take your word. I hear a lot of people don't fancy the gates, lol.
Yeah true fans of Chris C hate that woman, she turned everything into marketing including the fucking funeral full of celebrities, as far as I know Brad Pitt was an actual good friend of chris, just look at the concert in honor of chris cornell... "also like he didn't want to be there. " Nobody wants to be at a funeral of a friend.
AJ V I was thinking the same thing while watching... I actually didn't finish the video because it felt wrong. Even celebrities deserve some privacy at times, and this would be one of them.
poor Chester. he really was affected by Chris's loss..he wrote he can't imagine a world without Chris... this was countdown till Chester ended his life....miss Chris and chester
Im sorry but this is the first time i actually watched chris cornells funeral services and im at a loss for words. This man was so genuine, caring, funny and brought so much to so many lives and the people at his funeral look dead themselves. No one is showing any emotion. I'm still crying 4 years later. At one point in time his widow is even laughing. Someone please tell me why? Why r these people suppose to be morning the loss of someone so special but yet are emotionless! Im so upset
I was thinking the same. I am far away from his motherland. Only connected to him through music. But still it makes me cry.

As if people in the comment section are criticising the fucking funeral for Chris Cornell. Why does it matter who is there? i feel as though chris killed himself on a whim... Like he took drugs cause he was in pain and thought fuck it..
whereas chester was also in pain and had his friend kill himself so he decided he's had enough also. It's sad to think if cornell was still alive, chester would be too!
Ver o chester ali e pensar que ele se foi muito pouco tempo depois, causa uma sensação estranha.

Lala Balazade people grieve and show grief differently.
In this case its actually true though. His wife was a nasty evil woman.
She put on a brave face for the sake of her children... As parents do.
