The most peculiar thing about all these covers i have seen is that no one ever replicates Chester. The battle round using Crawling was an awesome cover especially their individual takes on Chester's parts. Those 2 complemented each other. Shame someone had to be eliminated since this was a competition.
Chester is insuperable ... he could touch our hearts with his voice and he still does through his legacy . One of the darkest days for the music the day he left us . May his soul R.I.P. We thank you legend .
I feel the 1st singer is the closest manage to hit the “growl” den back to a normal high pitch notes.. very good vocal controls.. and he can sing with his eyes open.. meaning its natural for him while singing with eyes close like for some of the other contestants means its like they are trying to mimic chester’s voice as close as they can to impress the judges..for a competition or even performing live is important as eye contact is where the singer connect with his audience
As someone who has done "Don't Stay" for a local talent show, fry is hard, and if you don't do it right, you'll be feeling it for weeks if not years if you fuck up enough.
Probably the first time I legitimately cried at a cover of Numb. This man brought so much passion and love to his performance and it's just so beautiful to see and hear.
The guy kinda brought it down a bit for me. But for sure the moments where they alternate one of them singing and the other screaming were done really well, especially as the other commentator mentioned that insecure part at the end
The duet was freaking good, some small mistakes in lyrics, but English isn't their first language, well done complementing each other like they did, and Shadow of the Day is also phenomenal
Linkin Park is one of the most influential bands of all time. I don’t think there’s a single person from Gen-Z who hasn’t been touched by their music. It was our own private therapy. They voiced our emotions, all of our pain, our regrets, our shortcomings, and our uncertainties. RIP Chester Bennington. Another great voice taken from us too soon.
Agreed. Everyone on this video is so cringy. If you can't hit the notes, or at least get close you should perform the song. Otherwise you're shitting on his grave.
Chester's voice is so crazy when you break it down. It's like 2 voices complimenting each other coming out of the body at the same time. Adam Gontier I would argue has just as unique voice when it comes to the ranges with 2 tones in a single voice.
Damn that shadow of the day cover just brought out a tear. He was so damn good. I’m pretty proud of my singing ability but damn he was great too. I need his full version of the song
It’s so cool to hear the difference in the first guy before vs after he got a chair turned. You could tell he was holding it back then after chair 1 and 2 turned he really let it rip!! Great power and control!

They all sound great but it just goes to show that chester was one of a kind...nobody can replicate the magic he brought to these songs. RIP Chester....You are missed by so many of us
I'm afraid that not everyone sees that. It's just that those albums emanated tremendous energy and some people miss that on the most recent ones. But I get you.
I love hearing their songs sang in other countries. It's amazing to me to see the love Linkin Park still has by people and music critics all over the world.
Good that people want to try their own ways of singing Linkin Park classics, but no one will ever match or beat Chesters power screams and his ability to switch between this and his angelic voice. God bless you Chester, you are missed worldwide everyday!! 🙏
When I read it was a duet I was wondering how they were gonna do it, but using the chorus of the Reanimation version with the extra harmonies made so much sense and it worked SO well for them.
I truly appreciate the effort these singers put into the songs but the voice of Chester can never be copied, he sung like an angel but screamed like a demon. RIP Chester gone but never forgotten.
@@alexbowler9728 the guys vocals were spot on his growls need a little work if he wants them to sound like Chester's, but as for individuality it was good.

That Crawling gives me a minute of goosebumps. First time happens in my life having goosebumps all trough out my body and it really last for a minute I'm just sad why no one turn in the last performance in this video the man really nailed it.
A little too much of a karaoke performance for the judges, though the little deviation at the end could've given him a chance. The judges, most of all, are looking for those who can keep the essence of a song while making it sound like their own work.
Agreed, i dont like it when a coverer trying to imitte the real singer, i mean,if i want to listen to the song with original singer voice with original arrangement, i didnt to listen to a cover but just listen to the original song right. Sorry for my english
Yeah same wishes I had as well but Chester didn't give us opportunity to witness him live!! He was too early... May his Soul rest in peace! A voice disappeared which can't be replicate! ❤️From Assam
because he chose the wrong song i think... he tried toward to end to put some variance in the melodies to showcase a bit more of his voice which is what your blind audition is all about. thats why numb refrain 1, chorus, bridge and chorus ending makes such a great song. there's a showcase of dynamics and vocal reach all in a short performance.
He has a great tone, but he lowered the song a full step even though this is one of the easier Linkin Park songs range wise to sing in the original key..I think they judged him harshly for that
4th and 5th one are the absolute best for me. Considering the emotion behind those songs that they both were able to express in their own way, what they did is fickin' rare especially with the kind of cover artists we have today.

The battle round using Crawling was an awesome cover especially their individual takes on Chester's parts. Those 2 complemented each other. Shame someone had to be eliminated since this was a competition.
Hearing covers shows how unique and special Chester was
Chester is insuperable ... he could touch our hearts with his voice and he still does through his legacy . One of the darkest days for the music the day he left us . May his soul R.I.P. We thank you legend .
Shadow of the Day guy deserved a lot more love bro
I loved his performance it was so smooth
Agree bro
I feel the 1st singer is the closest manage to hit the “growl” den back to a normal high pitch notes.. very good vocal controls.. and he can sing with his eyes open.. meaning its natural for him while singing with eyes close like for some of the other contestants means its like they are trying to mimic chester’s voice as close as they can to impress the judges..for a competition or even performing live is important as eye contact is where the singer connect with his audience
Right he had the fry sounding scream going pretty well
Imagine you sing in front of your friends with eyes closed, and when you finish the song you open your eyes they're gone..
As someone who has done "Don't Stay" for a local talent show, fry is hard, and if you don't do it right, you'll be feeling it for weeks if not years if you fuck up enough.
I’ve watched a live performance of Chester singing What I’ve Done, and his eyes were closed throughout the entire song.
@@saifkettana probably still learning techniques to that day and had to focus
The sudden start of crawling will always get me
Probably the first time I legitimately cried at a cover of Numb. This man brought so much passion and love to his performance and it's just so beautiful to see and hear.
There's a tribute band called Hybrid Theory. They are the closest I have seen... It's awesome!
Nikola zdravkov
Both of them did.
The battle was really awesome. Their voices complemented each other so well and made it great.
They were shit.
Chester would be so proud
honors of saying i watched it on tv 💙
Chris cornell harmonize those lines.. rip both legends
The shadow of the day cover was amazing. Emotion straight from the heart, he feels those lyrics in every fiber of his being
Chester was one of my favorite singer. Now I have none and no one can replace Chester. ❤ I still listen to his songs though he is no more.
That duet in the second clip is one of the best live covers I’ve ever seen. Absolutely amazing
🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
Yeah right ??? That was incredible synergy 🔥🔥🔥
When he did that first scream when he says “insecure”. I was like “OH SHIIIIIT!🤘🏼🔥
I kinda thought it was aweful
The guy kinda brought it down a bit for me. But for sure the moments where they alternate one of them singing and the other screaming were done really well, especially as the other commentator mentioned that insecure part at the end
To me this shows how hard of a band Linkin Park is to cover. Just damn impressive. RIP Chester❤
Linkin Park is the best band ever. The lyrics, the singing and rapping, and the truly amazing music videos and great concerts just blow my mind.
Nope, Beatles best bands of History
@@LanceGeorge-j7s omg the beatles are the worst comparing beatles to linkin Park is like comparing broccoli to pizza or an ant to an elephant
@@bananaduck3313 and the Beatles is 70% ass

That first cover was bloody amazing. Reminded me a lot of Chester. And the last guy, my god.
And didn't get a chair, but they clapped. So, stupid.
The first guy and the last guy did such a amazing job. Blew me away that non of the judges pressed the button with the last guy.
Fr
the last guy was really good. So sad
that proves that the judge is trash that last guy was rly good
@@justanoldsnufkin9747 He sounds like Metallica covered LP.
The last guy had a country accent
The 4th guy literally gave me goosebumps. He deserved better.
The duet was freaking good, some small mistakes in lyrics, but English isn't their first language, well done complementing each other like they did, and Shadow of the Day is also phenomenal
Gotta go with the woman in that bout
Loved it, especially her
First one was the best, wow that performance of Numb was so good. That performance of Shadow of the Day was incredible too.
I get goosebumps every time I hear a Linkin Park song. Rest in Peace Chester Bennington.
The second duo should form a group together.
Their voices/styles compliment each other so well!
Definitely! Both voices are heavy hitting, but they just need to practice more and learn the lyrics
They were great but it took two people just to get even close to Chester Bennington.
The majority of Gen Z is a bit young for LinkedIn Park I'd think. I think it's primarily the younger millennials who listened to them.
@@dianarusnov292 I'm was born in 2000, and I don't know a person my age that wasn't raised with their song
@@dianarusnov292 as a young millennial i can definitely attest that this group had a powerful impact on our generation
Them and halestorm.... two bands that literally saved my life

1:04 to 1:12 This is probably the closest to Chester's voice I've ever heard, it gives me goosebumps.
Literally. These people in the comments are deaf
He ain’t Chester obviously, but it’s not far off
@@CrazyPanda688 absolutely, especially when he says "And i know..." it was so deep.
The first performer gave me goosebumps! RIP Chester!
Bruh, i think Chester's Voice is one of the most dificult ones to cover or copy. Its really hard, unique. Nothing compares
You are right nothing compares people can come close but yet to far away
@@oswaldjenkins8557 yeah none of these even came close at all. I mean props for trying but certain voices should never be attempted to sound like.
@@HeavyRein gontiet is good but not that good, his sound actually comes a lot from vocal damage and not purposeful skill.
1:04 Damn the spirit of Chester 🙂
yepp, thats so chester
Uncanny
darn right
Yea that dude nailed it going into the bridge
that’s incredible!
The first guy was kick ass!
01:03 this guy is the closest to Chester's Voice I've heard.....
So true, from this part on he crushed it!
Check out "Halocene - Given Up" cover.
@@GustavoDepicoli i know right !??
i give this to my friend, hear it with his eyes closed, he thought that was Linkin Park Live at Concert
Yaaaaaaaa forreal
Seriously :’( I thought he was lip syncing for a second
Damn that shadow of the day cover just brought out a tear. He was so damn good. I’m pretty proud of my singing ability but damn he was great too. I need his full version of the song
1:05 He got possesed by Chester. 🇧🇬
That was good actually
Agreed
The first guy was amazing. He literally channeled those screams.
It’s so cool to hear the difference in the first guy before vs after he got a chair turned. You could tell he was holding it back then after chair 1 and 2 turned he really let it rip!! Great power and control!
1st guy's voice FILLED the room
2nd performance is WOW
3rd guy has GREAT pipes
4th guy got me in the FEELS and has really clear vocals.
Last guy gave it all and was surprising with the AWESOME change up!
i like the shadow of the day's cover. really good! i got goosebumps all the way
The males vocals in the 2nd performance is very similar to Aaron Lewis cover of it
The First guy Is the best
They all sound great but it just goes to show that chester was one of a kind...nobody can replicate the magic he brought to these songs. RIP Chester....You are missed by so many of us
Look for the group Hybrid Theory. They are a Portuguese cover group of LP 👌
6:50 "Shadow of the Day" is such a amazing choice. LP and Chester are so much more than HT or Meteora. #MakeChesterProud
I'm afraid that not everyone sees that. It's just that those albums emanated tremendous energy and some people miss that on the most recent ones. But I get you.
Shadow of the day isn't loved by the LP community??? Wtf
@@spiritandtimeakalilroachie7014 its loved.. people usually assume its a nu metal band
it was such a beautiful cover
I love hearing their songs sang in other countries. It's amazing to me to see the love Linkin Park still has by people and music critics all over the world.
First two were my favorite. That duet was fkn amazing and the first guy screams just like Chester. Loved them all
He is looking down, smiling so much talent we his fans wish he was still here
Chester has always been the best rock singer and has always had the best voice for rock and alternative songs.
Wow.
This "crawling" version was a blast...nailed it
Good that people want to try their own ways of singing Linkin Park classics, but no one will ever match or beat Chesters power screams and his ability to switch between this and his angelic voice.
God bless you Chester, you are missed worldwide everyday!! 🙏
The Second IS the best interpretation of this song. It's perfect
First guy scream amazing
The duet of mark and stefanie is such an eargasm. Especially on the chorus.. It just blends well.. 🙏
Who won?
When I read it was a duet I was wondering how they were gonna do it, but using the chorus of the Reanimation version with the extra harmonies made so much sense and it worked SO well for them.
Yeah, she carried it…. Mark sucked royally and didn’t even know the words. Native language or not. Learn the words.
The lighter register on some parts from Stefanie was so nice
Which version of the show was it on?
the 1st one will always have the special place in our heart, he's the only one got thay crispness of Chester
I truly appreciate the effort these singers put into the songs but the voice of Chester can never be copied, he sung like an angel but screamed like a demon. RIP Chester gone but never forgotten.
That battle of Crawling, goddamn it sounded fucking amazing

@@alexbowler9728 the guys vocals were spot on his growls need a little work if he wants them to sound like Chester's, but as for individuality it was good.
That first guy, when he hit that bridge, that vocal fry was so insane! Very well executed, the guy has chops!
Chester, you will be in the hearts of many youths. I am a Thai person who has listened to your songs since I was 10 years old until now I am 32 years old. I still listen to your music forever and ever LP.🙏🤟🇹🇭
Perfect!!!! You don't have to sound like Chester. Just be yourself and sing it out loud!
Agreed, i dont like it when a coverer trying to imitte the real singer, i mean,if i want to listen to the song with original singer voice with original arrangement, i didnt to listen to a cover but just listen to the original song right. Sorry for my english
@@lubyricabt9639 That's right ! I agree with you 100%

The fry scream and clean belt combo in Crawling had me tearing up a bit because of how good it sounded.
One of the best rock and roll/metal voice of time!! Rest in peace my friend chester, god have you with him in paradise, respect and love from México 👍

One of my biggest regrets in life is not going to see them when I could’ve. RIP Chester you are missed more than you know !
Chester was a once in a lifetime singer. My heart still breaks whenever I think about him
Bloody freaking awesome. May God bless this man.
That last guy killed it. How can the judges be that into the damn song and not push the button?
Anyway some great vocals here.
because he chose the wrong song i think... he tried toward to end to put some variance in the melodies to showcase a bit more of his voice which is what your blind audition is all about. thats why numb refrain 1, chorus, bridge and chorus ending makes such a great song. there's a showcase of dynamics and vocal reach all in a short performance.
He has a great tone, but he lowered the song a full step even though this is one of the easier Linkin Park songs range wise to sing in the original key..I think they judged him harshly for that
@@timothymichaelquinn1116 Yeah I could see that.
4th and 5th one are the absolute best for me. Considering the emotion behind those songs that they both were able to express in their own way, what they did is fickin' rare especially with the kind of cover artists we have today.
I couldn't agree more. The rest were great but I felt the fourth and fifth really brought something special.
But the judges were soooo harsh
1 was very good
From 1:05 To 1:12
felt like Chester himself singing 😳
