As a church vocalist my entire life , naturally I sang for my own Daddys Funeral service as well. And yes. It is one of the toughest things ever! Once even had to step into the ladies room and hit my knees to be able to get back out there and keep my own hands and knees from shaking so much but I wanted to honor my Father best way I knew how, and I did. @@R.I.P. aw thanks , and I am so sorry for your loss too. My husbands parents were about the same. When his mother went into an alzheimers unit, it wasnt a year before his father passed. He wound up in the same unit for few months and I truly think it just broke his heart being in that same unit, seeing other little ole men harmlessly 'flirting' with his wife while she introduced her husband as her brother. You see, she KNEW somehow they were related, but was just confused and not sure how. Once my father in law was on that same unit he didnt live long after that. He lost the ability to speak, and you could tell his frustration when he once threw his oxygen tank thru his window. (That got him moved into the alzheimers unit from a regular room). Once they became older, I think all he ever wanted was for the 2 of them to die together in that house when the time came. They were also together over 50 plus yrs, and lived in that same home over 40. My mother in law lived 3 more years after him though. She was in fairly good health except for the alzheimers. We don't have proof but we often wonder if she didnt just die from neglect. Bless their hearts, those units are so critically understaffed. I think most of them mean well, they just dont have the personnel. God bless you and your family. My apologies I did not see your post earlier.
Stuff the "not to cry" challenge, my heart is with both Chester and Chris's families. Yes I am a grown man, 47 years old, and I can say I cried when I heard the news about both these great guys. I have had the pleasure to shake their hands several times, and you could never have met a better pair of jokers, friends, fathers, brothers, sons grand sons in the whole world, I will miss them both.. Theres a big rock festeval in heaven and I want a front row place. Chester and Chris, I will see you in the better life, not before my time, but you will both always be with us.Thank you for sharing your lives with us.
Salvation Today Actually, there is no hell. There's also no heaven. You're wasting your life talking to someone in the sky every day that doesn't exist, asking for help and guidance, when you should be relying on yourself, learning, and growing to learn how to solve your own problems and become a better person.
He's no Christian. Salvation is by faith on Jesus Christ and no other conditions. Samson and King Saul committed suicide and any bible believer would agree their in heaven. It's people like him who think their works play a part who will be in for a surprise
I cried when Chris left us.... It was a loss to the Arts.. When I saw Toni singing I knew that he was there with her, she felt him too!! I cried again because she was so composed, I felt I should. He is so very proud. RIP Chris and Chester
Everytime I hear that girl sing I hear so much of Chris. My mom showed me Soundgarden and my brother showed me Audioslave and I was fan ever since R.I.P Chris and Chester.
The red phone CC would keep on stage with him was Buckleys. They would often call each other and discuss things relating to music. After Buckleys tragic passing his mom gave the phone to CC. CC had said he keeps it on stage just in case he decided to call once again so he wouldn't miss it.
Still crying in 2024 ‘One more Light’ Chester & Chris for three decades you both got me through the worst of life’s hells God bless that you both have found the peace the world could not give you singing together at Gods table❤️🫶🏻❤️
Looking in her eyes she is so tired but trying to hold on. So much strength in her it's fucking crazy! Great performance! I'm very positive Chris and Chester heard from the other side.❤️👍
Her voice is sublime--lessons, voice training, breathing, self belief and time--young Toni will stand alone and on her own talent--a sweet and wonderful tribute...!
She is beautiful, just like her father, and considering the circumstances under which she is singing, of course she’s going to be somber, but that doesn’t take away from the fact that she said it was a “honor” to do this for her father. Speaking from experience, suicide just leaves every one they touched with so many unanswered questions. I will pray for both Chris Cornell and Chester Bennington's journey, and for their families and friends. May God bless them all.
agb0012000 Chester and Chris were both silenced for almost exposing child trafficking..research using DuckDuckGo, & HOW they supposedly did it...no way Also Chester/Podesta look alike, then can imagine where all of his pain came from
I don't think she wants to be there, and I was glad when they zoomed out and I could see that her father's face was *behind* her on the screen, but she does have a lovely voice. Outside of the occasional one-off photo on a red carpet, I never saw Chris's kids in the spotlight, so I just hope they can take or leave fame as they choose.
Almost no one sings a version of the song with this verse... “I did my best, it wasn't much I couldn't feel, so I tried to touch I've told the truth, I didn't come to fool you And even though It all went wrong I'll stand before the Lord of Song With nothing on my tongue but Hallelujah”... and this one is pretty rare also... You say I took the Name in vain I don't even know the Name But if I did, well really, what's it to you? There's a blaze of light In every word It doesn't matter which you heard The holy or the broken Hallelujah Every verse that Cohen wrote was beautiful, I’m not sure why so many versions choose to leave these two, especially the first one, out for the most part. Most beautiful song I’ve ever heard
I’ve heard versions where those verses throw off the rhythm of the song. I think people are so use to hearing the cut version that the longer version sounds weird.
RIP Chester and Chris... and OMGoodness, what a tragedy for a young girl to have to go thru... unspeakable pain she must be feeling then and now... my thoughts go out to her that she ends up being ok in the long run

Ten seconds in and I'm impressed. No autotune, just shear talent and feeling. Might be the best live performance of the last 5 years. Amazing job to all!!!
The wonderful thing about Chris's daughter's performance is how genuine it is. No vocal acrobatics needed to feel her heart and soul. She's conveying a voice of movement, not a voice trying to impress anyone.
Cupcakes I was thinking the same thing! She has a beautiful voice on her own and should've sung it by herself! As it should have been.......not to be mean but the guy singing with her didn't do her justice she has a phenomenal voice!
omegachaos32 I wasn't saying anything bad........I think she has a beautiful voice and her rendition of it is beautiful as well as all of her and Father's music!! The guy was just totally off key was just was what I was trying to get at it would've been nice to see someone that was more of a bigger supporter to her Dad's music not that he wasn't but to be honest I didn't even know who the guy was. With that being said like I did in my first comment her voice is phenomenal, she is beautiful as was her Father and will always be as was Chester Bennington!! They were all taken way to soon from their families!!! They are missed by many and will never be forgotten!! Sadly I lost my brother three years ago August 17th and their music gets me through some hard days and also brings me back to some dark and lonely days........! Persevere And Conquer The World, Fear Not For Your Father Is Always Walking Beside You And Guiding You Beautiful One!!!
I don't know where she got the courage from. This must be so hard to do, especially so soon after it all happened. I'm sure especially Chris would be so proud of her.
As a woman whose dad and mom aren't here anymore, I can understand her pain. Many blessings to this young lady. Your dad was proud of you and always will be. Always know as you continue to live and embrace life, you are bringing your dad along with you on your journey. Much respect.

It’s painful for me to watch, she looks so much like him, I just pray to god the same demons that haunted her father don’t lie beneath her beautiful eyes as well
Chris's daughter has a natural beautiful voice....I hope we hear more from her over the years to come. I'm sure her dad is super proud, she has his gift. Much love to all family members
I've literally never seen something like this. She is so young here. A child with so much strength, so much talent and so much charisma. I'm speechless, she is absolutely extraordinary. God bless her!!!!
You can see in her face she still is in disbelief... Man that hurts.
Synystr7 as a fan and his music changed my life, I feel the same way too
no you don't feel the same way as she does.. few people do
and why you like that?
I think she's on heavy meds bro :(
I've seen that face before. I've worn that face. Loosing a parent at a young age like that sucks. I've seen that face on the streets from time to time, and just want to hug them, and let them know it never gets easy, you just learn to cope with it better.
The amount of guts and passion it would of taken her to stand up there and perform is outstanding, such a strong individual

My son died two years ago tomorrow. Thank you for letting me see this today. She looks just like her dad.😪
Sorry to hear for you loss. He's still with you.
@JRH99 I am so sorry for your loss. 😢 Sending you love. 💕 And yes, I agree with you that Toni looks so much like her dad, Chris. Also just like her dad (and Chester), she has a beautiful voice…
Much love, from a stranger

Exactly Skylarkitty 95.
The audience is mesmerized and in tears. That says it all.
both those in person and those on this end. a timeless moment.
That young lady though. Such a strong and beautiful little girl.
William Bodie not everyone has as twisted minds as you do "sir"
Ross Weaver Little?
Will M. yes little she's like 12
Ross Weaver She sings with no phoney embellishments and affectations that are so popular amoungst young female singers. Makes it more from the heart and less "marketing" to the musically stunted masses.
@@skypekai what is wrong with you!?
I'm back in 2024 to watch this again. Chris Cornell's death is the only celebrity death that shook me. It still does. Watching his daughter sing tribute to him... rough.
thats a young girl thats been through so much pain, i hope one day she finds happiness again, RIP chris and chester
She's right behind her Dad with that voice!! very strong young woman for doing this. Her Dad's very proud of her looking down R.I.P Chris and Chester and a very Merry Christmas to your families! I know there will be a big emptiness for both families on Christmas morning. so sad!
Only fitting, the daughter has the voice of the angel. Lifting her on his majestic wings. Gorgeous.
Chris had one of the best voices of all time. Can't wait to see what his daughter true voice. Bet her dad will be smiling down on her. Chester you will be missed also. I regret not going to see you and Linkin Park In concert
Singing accapela some song his grandmother used to always sing to all of them! I think I made Daddy proud, I hope so anyway! Hardest thing ever done in my life ! RIP JPJ 09/05/13, Dad, I love You!
Gwendolyn Carter..I’m sorry for your loss 😔I lost my Daddy 5-27-83😭He sang in our church choir. They sang for him at his funeral. It still seems like yesterday. God bless you🙋🏽♀️💕🕊
Lost my mom and dad in 2015 ..they we're together 55 years and separated in death by only 6 months .. I honesty think dad died of a broken heart . I've hit my knee's several times since . Mom had copd for 7 years ..but dad was healthy and extremely active but died suddenly with no warning .. It's been 5 years and I am still struggling with it .. Bless you dear and thanks for sharing that with us
@@donnarupert4926 same to you. Sorry I did not notice this post earlier. God bless you and your family!
@@R.I.P. aw thanks , and I am so sorry for your loss too.
@@evelyngreenberg167 and ... as I stated, it is one of the toughest things ever! If not THE (to sing for your own relative that has passed). 😊
Salvation Today
Actually, there is no hell. There's also no heaven. You're wasting your life talking to someone in the sky every day that doesn't exist, asking for help and guidance, when you should be relying on yourself, learning, and growing to learn how to solve your own problems and become a better person.
Dave Carsley FTW!
Salvation Today, you are a fucking idiot....keep praying, no one is listening...
"Salvation today". I guess Samson and King Saul are in hell too according to your "gospel? Know your bible before you spout nonsense
This just shows how loved Chester was. He’s truly a legend and is missed so very much
Not a dry eye in the crowd!!!! Beautifully done!!!!!
Heart wrenching!
Not a lot of dry eyes at home watching this vid either, I bet.
Just heartbreaking.
No dry eye here......
No dry eyes of my fat ass sitting on the couch here.. And I didnt expect myself to keep dry eyes either
She has a great voice for such a young age . I wish chris was still around to teach her more . R.i.p. Chris and Chester .
Wow, she totally has her dad's eyes! I love this song so much. It's really hard not to get touched no matter who sings the words.
Wow she looks so much like her dad! Beautiful. I'm so sorry your dad couldn't stay. RIP Chris and Chester you're both missed
Still tears me up hearing his daughter sing this, he did good in life, he raised a strong daughter, best we can hope for in life.
Amen to that
Unfortunately he made the decision not to raise her anymore =(
Everytime I hear that girl sing I hear so much of Chris. My mom showed me Soundgarden and my brother showed me Audioslave and I was fan ever since R.I.P Chris and Chester.
I just realised that they chose that song due to Chester singing that at Cornells funeral... That hit me.
One of the most Prolific and amazing renditions of this was by Jeff Buckley who Chris knew personally... So It's a Song Immortalized In all time
Which is Most likely why Chester chose this song actually...

The red phone CC would keep on stage with him was Buckleys. They would often call each other and discuss things relating to music. After Buckleys tragic passing his mom gave the phone to CC. CC had said he keeps it on stage just in case he decided to call once again so he wouldn't miss it.
The freaking tears wont stop.2023
Still crying in 2024 ‘One more Light’ Chester & Chris for three decades you both got me through the worst of life’s hells God bless that you both have found the peace the world could not give you singing together at Gods table❤️🫶🏻❤️
What a beautiful soul. She could pacify a raging world. A great loss - Chris and Chester. I will buy any song or album Toni creates. GOD BLESS.
Such a tragic loss. It was beautiful of them to come and share in the grief with others.
The strength of her to sing in public.I would have been crying my eyes out .So beautiful.
Looking in her eyes she is so tired but trying to hold on. So much strength in her it's fucking crazy! Great performance! I'm very positive Chris and Chester heard from the other side.❤️👍
Could not be with us this morning....this brings you down -.- but dayum, she has SO much of his eyes!!!!
He ruined it ,he should of let her sing by herself
@@susanarmstrong8435 ?
@@LaserGadgets He's saying that Ryan Tedder shouldn't have sung with her
She's very pretty. She looks like Paris Jackson
May God bless them all.
agb0012000 Chester and Chris were both silenced for almost exposing child trafficking..research using DuckDuckGo, & HOW they supposedly did it...no way
Also Chester/Podesta look alike, then can imagine where all of his pain came from
Aimee Osmulski .....send me a link please...what are you talking about ???...
Beautiful?
Her eyes, that her dad's eyes 😢
I saw him in her eyes as well.
Said the same and it almost broke my heart again man
Wow wasn't expecting anyone to have commented about this, I'm glad I'm not the only one. She's so beautiful and what an amazing voice.
They're are just as beautiful as her dads
@Mailroom Clerk indeed.
His daughter is so strong and her vocals are amazing
Her Dad passed down his gift to her.
I can't wait to hear her really belt out like her dad
C.C.'s Daughter has his eye's, WOW....A good voice too. Toni Cornell should be a STAR one day !!
Her face...it tells a million lost emotions n her voice is definitely that of her fathers! Goosebumps
I don't think she wants to be there, and I was glad when they zoomed out and I could see that her father's face was *behind* her on the screen, but she does have a lovely voice. Outside of the occasional one-off photo on a red carpet, I never saw Chris's kids in the spotlight, so I just hope they can take or leave fame as they choose.
her voice is her own.
I can hear Chris through her voice. Beautiful. 🖤
shes got such a pretty voice! well done!
That is one 12-year-old girl with an old soul! And oh my she can sing!!
This is EXACTLY what I was thinking. She's an old soul, wise beyond her years. Sobbed through this performance.

Almost no one sings a version of the song with this verse...
“I did my best, it wasn't much
I couldn't feel, so I tried to touch
I've told the truth, I didn't come to fool you
And even though It all went wrong
I'll stand before the Lord of Song
With nothing on my tongue but Hallelujah”... and this one is pretty rare also... You say I took the Name in vain
I don't even know the Name
But if I did, well really, what's it to you?
There's a blaze of light
In every word
It doesn't matter which you heard
The holy or the broken Hallelujah
Every verse that Cohen wrote was beautiful, I’m not sure why so many versions choose to leave these two, especially the first one, out for the most part. Most beautiful song I’ve ever heard
Amen! ❤❤❤
I’ve heard versions where those verses throw off the rhythm of the song. I think people are so use to hearing the cut version that the longer version sounds weird.
Jeff Buckley did the 9+ min version
They're meant for those who have lived those verses. It's a handful of people. Chester and Chris were two.
Didnt Cohen write like 80 different verses for Hallelujah so yea there's bound to be ones omitted from renditions people cover
RIP Chester and Chris... and OMGoodness, what a tragedy for a young girl to have to go thru... unspeakable pain she must be feeling then and now... my thoughts go out to her that she ends up being ok in the long run
2017 is the saddest year ever. We will never forget the world greatest singers. Chris and Chester... may they Rest In Peace.
2016/2017 sucked!
lost my grandma and 2 dogs in both years
and dont forget chris cornell and chester
Taylor Swift seems to think 2017 couldn't have gone any better lol
it is a shame to lose any one, but some context this isn't 1915 where we lost millions of innocents to war, that said great condolences to the families of both men.
Just wait till 2018 . Shit is not going to get better
sorry bout your doggie. bos
and your beautiful beloved grandma
RIP chris too young early fifties so talented ..and chester early 40s smh
It's 2020 and I hope they are both looking down at us. RIP Chester and Chris. Music fans miss you!
The pain in that young girls eyes.. Oof, my heartstrings, utter passion.

@@evette8558 You don't a;ways show the pain. Some show it alot(like me when I lost my parents), and some are empty. Look at her eyes, she is mourning in her own way.
The only "celebrity" I ever cried terribly over Chris Cornell, RIP
Right there with ya. Still hurts.

What a brave and beautiful young lady Toni is. I lost my dad in 1990 just before my 11th birthday, there is no way I would have been able to stand up and perform as Chris' daughter did, and so wonderfully at that. There was one very proud dad looking down watching that performance.
Wow I hear so much of Chris in her
R.I.P. to Leonard Cohen as well. Who wrote such a beautiful song.
Also RIP Jeff Buckley who made the song more mainstream with his beautiful voice
This is the first time I’ve seen Toni or heard her sing. Wow, on both counts! She has a voice that absolutely lives up to her father’s greatness.
Beautiful song, beautiful kid...much love. RIP Chris & Chester..sadly missed
It's only right that she was also gifted with the voice of an angel.
I heard it. I heard Chris' singing cadence in her voice, and I'm not surprised, she looks alot like him too. l bet she is very proud of him. He is missed. RIP Chris Cornell and God bless. ,💐
What a beautiful, talented young woman, Chris must be proud... Rest easy Chris this world brings most of us to our knees, unfortunately your didn't find the strength to get back up... R. I. P Chris and Chester.
This song makes me cry, especially knowing the two people they are singing in tribute too. RIP music lost with those two gone.
I could imagine this was so hard for her to do. She lives on through them. U go girl! Beautiful voice. Beautiful soul.
WOW! This is heartbreakingly beautiful...she looks just like her father.
Ten seconds in and I'm impressed. No autotune, just shear talent and feeling. Might be the best live performance of the last 5 years. Amazing job to all!!!
She is so young. God bless her and protect her.
Toni. You killed it. Great job girl!
The wonderful thing about Chris's daughter's performance is how genuine it is. No vocal acrobatics needed to feel her heart and soul. She's conveying a voice of movement, not a voice trying to impress anyone.
You can hear how hesitant she is, at first...and then we hear that magnificent voice from our memories build on itself...well done, young lady ❤
Toni has such a beautiful voice. Wish it was just her singing. Ripped me apart seeing her sadness coming through.
Cupcakes I was thinking the same thing! She has a beautiful voice on her own and should've sung it by herself! As it should have been.......not to be mean but the guy singing with her didn't do her justice she has a phenomenal voice!
Well, her father killed himself. Maybe she needed some support... I loved her rendition of the song, but she's 12 and her dad committed suicide ffs.
omegachaos32 I wasn't saying anything bad........I think she has a beautiful voice and her rendition of it is beautiful as well as all of her and Father's music!!
Chris & Chester were & are both legends. Forever missed by the world & gone away from this planet way too soon. God bless their beautiful souls.
I dont think ill go through life finding another voice i wish i had more than Chris Cornell.
A grand master of vocals.
I don't know where she got the courage from. This must be so hard to do, especially so soon after it all happened. I'm sure especially Chris would be so proud of her.
Also she has a really nice voice, if she gets a coach she might become a great artist!
I’m sure her mother made her do it.
His daughter is so beautiful. Just as beautiful as the sunset. Also I can't believe what Chester's wife is going through.
She’s extremely beautiful god bless her
That was beautiful! As a father I know he is very PROUD!
As a woman whose dad and mom aren't here anymore, I can understand her pain. Many blessings to this young lady. Your dad was proud of you and always will be. Always know as you continue to live and embrace life, you are bringing your dad along with you on your journey. Much respect.
