It has nothing to do with his holding back. Singers don't compete in duets, they blend and compliment. Why is it some mor@ns think pushing volume is quality? They are both singing with equal vocal intensity.
I wonder if some of the people in the audience at first were like "Aww how cute, its his daughter. She probably can't sing but we'll clap anyways" and then she opens her mouth and absolutely blows everyone away. Honestly she's one of my favorite female vocalists.
She can really hit the high notes. I think this is the most beautiful version of this song Ive ever heard, such Power.

If you notice here how softly he is singing and how he is using a smaller Spanish guitar to not outdrown here because he wants her so shine. He only kicks at it when she isn't singing. That's fatherhood. You are all great father's and it doesn't take to be a famous musician to achieve this moment. A simple walk or bike ride can achieve this.

Why did Chester's maid have carpets cleaned and claimed the blood all over house was from the dog killing a chicken.hard hang yourself from door know etc. Look deep dig you'll find the truth in articles..chesters mom has given great interviews .. these were men who had struggles but weren't in space to kill themselves when they passed ..

The fact that one of the most powerful voices in rock can take a backseat and do some kickass backup vocals is a testament to just how great Chris was. Toni absolutely killed her part! Everytime she looks at him, as if for approval, just hits the heart strings. Such a beautiful performance, front to back. Rip Chris, and Toni know you have a loving father looking over you always!!!

It is so sweet yet sad to watch now. She clearly has the same magic her father had. I hope one day she blesses us with her talent. I mean how amazing is this at her age!? Can anyone even fathom what she would have to musically offer after age and honing her talent. She's gonna be phenomenal if she chooses music.
Truth - but, I so hope she realizes there is much more in life than what the eye can see. Life is far more than the physical. Truly gifted musicians tap into that, whether they realize it, or not. Those never realizing such have aborted lives, sadly. They long for more than the world offers in the present.

This makes me happy they had this time together, but it makes me cry that it wasn't enough.
I enjoyed watching this video more than any video I've seen on RUclips. It was simple and not complicated and show the love for a daughter that a father has. We all need to learn a lesson about what some of the wrong things in life can take away from us.

I don't think he told her that he was only going to sing backing vocals. In the first third of the song, she looked over at him two or three times as if to ask, "Where are you?" Then I think she realized that she was the lead vocal, and then she settled in. . . . What a clever and unselfish dad.

@Carlos Baca , think about it. If he told his daughter in advance that she was singing lead vocals, there's a good chance that she might not have gone out on stage. . . . And he did not leave her entirely. He just pulled back. Clearly he pulled back in order to feature her.

Suicide will always be the most baffling thing for me to comprehend. in that moment Chris new what he was leaving behind but the pain was bigger than all the love he had for his family. And just like all of us his daughter is left to see this video, bittersweet but yet so beautiful. Just a father with his daughter.
But somehow he hurt so bad that he left his beautiful daughter in such a horrific way. Our country needs to do better with mental health. He had money & resources..but didn't use it. Nothing to be ashamed of if you need a helping hand or words.

I lost my brother in law to suicide. Left two young children. Chris was in a place that we will never know how bad it was to be there. Depression and mental illness is like cancer. The person would never think of leaving their beautiful children if they were capable of rational thinking.
