@@Sami7190 I threw up after my first time pole dancing because I didn't eat first and I wore myself out trying to keep up with the other girls, I've found having a lot of berries and salami before is so good for staying full and having energy for it, it's an easy simple meal that requires 0 assembly too
I LOVE that you talked about eating the right amount in point 9. The other day, I cooked dinner before class, but had opted for a protein bar before and just put my portion away for after. My boyfriend almost chewed me out for refusing to eat dinner, and I told him "Dude. I spin. I can't have a full stomach or I'll be sick"
Haha I can totally relate to it! I'm the same. I always need to make sure I don't eat at least 3-4 hours before training or otherwise I will regret it. I literally can't do anything on the pole, can't spin, can't go upside down... 😅😩
It’s funny you mention that about food, I had the same problem....I need to eat to get energy or I get shaken but if I eat too much I feel sluggish and heavy. I found that when I pole...the best thing is like a banana or a power protein bar about 30 minutes before
I had know idea how many pole dancers struggle with this... it also took me a while to figure it out but the best for me is 2 hours before the training otherwise I can't get upside down haha.
You asked about eating before class. If I do an evening class after work, I need a snack. I pack a meat stick or Larabar (nut and fruit bar) about 30 minutes before. If the class is later, after dinner time I have a salad for dinner and eat more after if I feel like it. High protein, low calorie is the way to go before a class!
Loved this vid. Stated facts! Lately I have been training at 8pm... so I eat fruit whenever I want and however much I need to satisfy myself for the morning. Then at 3pm, I will eat a high carb meal like potatoes or sweet potatoes or rice with tofu or something yummy, maybe with some salad or some vegetables. Then I feel satisfied but by 8pm I am well digested and practice! I haven’t eaten any animal products for about 8 years now and I know it has helped my digestion and my body has learned how to run optimally! Maybe give it a go! Best of luck hunny 🖤🖤🖤
I totally agree about the 1st point, I started pole dance a year ago and I took my time to improve at the school and also search online for poles to buy so I will get my X Stage Lite by the end of this month :D since I have more space for it Wohooo
Just discovered your videos! Loving it! Regarding the eating: It may sound a little complicated but it depends on what kind of dancing you're doing. I was a runner, bodybuilder, and personal trainer at the same time I was a pole dancer by profession... so my body was consuming large amounts of calories to maintain all the activity. I ate satiating, rounded meals (fats, proteins, and carbs each meal... nothing low carb!) before going in to work... and throughout my shift, which was usually 6-8 hours, I consumed full servings of simple carbs (~30g) every couple hours-- easy to digest, not enough to bloat, but enough to sustain energy for a couple hours of intense pole tricks! Best rule of thumb: The fat is best consumed earlier in the day, no less than 2-3 hours before dancing. Proteins and moderate amounts of complex carbs can be consumed up to within an hour of dancing. And if you're dancing for extended periods of time, i.e. teaching lots of classes or dancing by profession, simple carbs are the best source of energy, eaten often in small amounts, with small amounts of protein, i.e. half a protein bar w/half a banana, then eat the other half an hour or 2 later.
I recently saw a tip about using pliers to clamp the eyelet, hook things on boots closed. Close them enough that laces, or the hooks on the other boot, don’t get caught. The laces will still go through them, but they won’t be completely open. I hope that makes sense. 😄
I always put the lace through the top holes backwards (going into the shoe vs the standard going out to the front) and then tie them inside the shoe and tuck them. Looks cleaner, and they are much less likely to pop out.
Haha I am guilty of holding my breath! Will try to actively breathe out next time, as simple as it sounds it never occurred to me..thanks for the advice
Hi Sandra! First of all, thank you for this informative video. I am purchasing an x-pole stage Lite for the first time once it becomes available (I contacted them and hopefully they will have stock soon), and I am planning on getting a 45 mm diameter pole, however, I'm stuck on whether I should purchase a chrome pole or brass pole. I am buying it for home. When I took classes I trained on a brass pole and know that it allows for better grip but then was told that for competitions they use chrome poles even though they are more slippery. I am definitely getting ahead of myself because I doubt I will ever do competitions but figure if I can get used to a chrome one, a brass pole would be a piece of cake once I get back into classes. That being said, I noticed you prefer a powdered pole. So I am wondering what your thoughts are. I'm thinking brass/chrome but open to suggestions. Thanks in advance!
Hi Mira, thanks for your comment ❤ I like chrome and brass! Brass gives you better grip but personally chrome is my favourite. I only had chrome poles before but then I "had to get" a powder coated pole because everything else was out of stock 😅 The powder coated pole is good, but the grip is insane. It is so painful! It's very hard to transition into other tricks because you can easily get stuck in a trick because of the grip 😂 if you won't compete than I would say get the pole that works for you the best! Have you ever tried chrome before? Give it a try before you buy it. Also, where do you live? Climate makes a huuuge difference!
Honestly I bought a 100 something usd pole just to try it out I love it already though so I'm going to be saving up for an x-pole although I can't say the quality of the pole I have is bad reviews on it said to get an x-pole unless you were a beginner
Hi, I just got the same pole and I’m wondering what liquid to clean it with , as I know it’s different for each material. Did it seem super slippery when you first got it ?
KeepingUpWithKass exciting!! New pole 😍 it was a little bit slippery in the beginning. To be honest I just mix vodka & water to clean the pole. I‘m not sure if that’s good for the coating long term though 🙈 but it works the best 👌🏽
@@SandraFlow I suggest you to not mix it with water, just vodka is perfect. As for the food ,it depends on how close you are to your practice. If you ate 3 hours before and you're hungry, eat a banana and go for it!Dark chocolate works also great!

Do you know why my x-pole pro came down? I bought it because of the quality issue within poles. I did everything right and checked all the things I was supposed to do. I'm thinking the weight distribution was not good enough - maybe I should get a piece of wood for the top? My ceiling developed very faint lines after it came down so I'm thinking the ceiling is off?
Hi Anastassia, did you place the pole under a beam? What is your ceiling made of? If you're not sure you can get a beam detector so you can find the perfect spot for the pole. I hope you didn't get hurt, it's pretty scary if that happens... My ceiling is not the best so I used the wooden plate to reduce the pressure on one spot. It's been great and it's super safe :)
Can you pole with n*pple piercings or do you have to take them out because i know that healing takes a long time and they may not be able to be taken out?
Hey, the piercing should be completed healed and then it is no problem at all. If it’s a new piercing then it could be very painful though and I wouldn’t recommend to train with a new piercing. Same with a tattoo actually! That’s why I didn’t get any tattoos over the last 6 years 😅
