My girlfriend is getting off of the pill soon, i didn’t realize all of the negative effects it has! your videos on the subject have made me so happy for her and increased her excitement for the transition. If only there were contraceptives for men.
Love that you’re educating yourself on this for her!!! Tell her she got this and to hang in there if she experiences any symptoms of post birth control syndrome! It’s so worth it!
You have no idea how much each of your videos has helped me decide to get off the pill. THANK YOU for being so vulnerable and helping us women who are scared, be calmer about the transitions in our body. I am currently binge-watching "getting off the pill" videos now, and yours have been the most helpful. Can't thank you enough.

Thank you so much for sharing all this information! I just got off the pill 3-4 months ago and have been experiencing extreme hair loss to the point of panic. So thank you for being vulnerable. 💗

Me to.. my hair was already thin and now I am so panicked I thought of going back on the pill. :(
Girl you couldn't have said it better. I've been off the pill for 8 months now, and my god has it changed me for the better. Everything you said was exactly what I went through! Anyone who's considering getting off the pill NEEDS this video, this was honestly so refreshing.
I agree with SO MANY things you have said! I stopped taking the pill 4 months ago and wow. My hair is so much more thick and long without changing anything else. My skin cleared up as well and I do not get the pimples I used to get on the pill. But the main thing and I’m soooo glad you touched on it, is I have so much clarity about life. I can now truly feel happiness, peace and calmness which God lead me through but required getting off of the pill to fully understand! I laugh when little things don’t go right anymore when before I would cry or whine or get soooo incredibly angry. Thank you for making this video so girls and women can see the amazing benefits of this! New subscriber here, you’re awesome!!
For cramps: check your iron levels, low iron can cause you to bleed more and the periods being more painful. Also magnesium, many people are deficient, and lack of magnesium can cause cramps/make them worse. Lastly, and this wont be popular, try eliminating all caffeine (coffe, black tea, green tea, matcha, even chocolat contain some caffeine) for a month or two and see if your period becomes less painful, it did for me. It also completeley got rid of soreness in my breasts, which i used to have for half of the month. Also, healthy low inflammatory fats are important for menstrual health. Hope this will help someone!
Today is my first day off the pill and I just can’t wait to not feel so sad and crying for no reason. I e been trying to get right with god too and sometimes it’s just hard when I just feel so miserable most of the time.
AMA it’s been 2 months off the pill now and my mood has gotten way better. I’m not at all depressed, I don’t cry myself to sleep, and I wake up every morning feeling thankful and reading the Bible. I still am I bit emotional but it’s nothing like how It use to be on the pill. My period cramps came back too which sucks, so I just recently started excising hoping that it will help with my cramps but I didn’t know it will help with my mood too hmmmm okay thank you
@@mekhailewis I very much did and still do. It’s been 11 months off the pill now and I feel soooo much better. No depression/ anxiety. OMG my sleep have gotten so much better. I do get a little emotional and fatigue before my period starts but nothing like how it use to be. I will never go back to being on the pill.
Thank you beyond words for this video!!! I took birth control for 6 months and my hair started thinning and it started receding in the temple areas just like you. Don't know if it was the birth control or the thinning/receding hair that spiked a depression and caused me to have suicidal thoughts - but I'm pretty sure it was a combination of both. I have only been off birth control for almost 1 month but your video is giving me everything to look forward to. I have such high hopes that I will be lucky like you and that my hair will grow back thicker than ever before. I will come back in another 5 months time and piggyback off of this comment to share the good news. Thank you, thank you, thank you! THIS VIDEO IS EVERYTHING TO ME!!! EVERYTHING
Thank you so so much for this video!!! I’ve been on the pill for three years and I’ve noticed insane hair thinning around my temples too. I thought I was the only one and everyone thought I was crazy for thinking it was because of birth control but I’m convinced it’s because of it!! I’m going to talk to my doctor about going off of it
I'm crying watching this. I am stopping the pill tomorrow (it's the last one) and I have struggled so much over the four years taking it with mental health, more this year than any year and I am praying that getting off will really make a difference for me. I am so excited to do this but I am also so nervous! thank you so much for all your videos and updates they've really given me the courage to do this.
You got this! It will make you feel better knowing your off of it not worrying about what hormones are being put into your body! I would also say read the book beyond the pill it really helped me understand what to do when getting off of it and what it might have done to my body.
just an update for anyone reading comments and to those up replied to me: I just want to say that my mental health has completely turned around in such a positive direction. I feel SO much better. I also have gotten my first period back- only 5 days late so I am so so grateful. But for those of you who are considering to get off of it because of some of my similar reasons... DO IT. It was honestly the best decision I have ever made and I feel so so so much better.
@@Makeupby_jade I did and it helped so much! It also continued to motivate me that I was making the right decision to get off of it... I learned so much about the hormones that were put into my body and why I was feeling the way I was and it really helped put things into perspectives. I hope your journey has gone well for you, too!
Im happy that you've been feeling better!! I'm on the pill because of pcos, and it's helped me lose weight and acne. It's made me happier and more confident. I feel like everybody says that they lose weight after going off the pill and all but I'm just so scared of my horrible hormones ruining my life again 😭
Thank you so much for sharing this. I experienced the same thing with mental health on the pill and that's why I stopped it. I thought I was going crazy! Thank you for being so open.
Jesus lover here! I just subscribed. I’m waiting until marriage but have been on birth control since 15 because of a brutal assault I went through. Thank you so much for these videos. What a blessing! God bless you 🥰🙌🏽🙌🏽 I’m excited to stop taking the pill now!
Makes so much sense - the not being able to respond to stress and emotions is linked to the pill, our body is in trauma mode like fight or flight all the time and literally things it’s pregnant ☠️
Dude I did NOT know that. Been off BC about two months now and I definitely notice a difference in how my body responds to stress. Before I would just start crying and catastrophizing but I’m more level headed now. Wild.
I made the decision to come off the pill recently. I’m 29 And I’ve been on the pill since I was maybe 17/18 years old. So I am terrified of what I could possibly go thru. Your videos have helped a lot! I am into nutrition so I will definitely be detoxing and continuing my nutrition like you takes about. My biggest reasons for coming off is my mental health! And after listening to multiple different women including yours I have gone thru/going thru those mental obstacles just like you ladies and I don’t feel alone anymore or like I’m the only one who’s gone thru those crazy mental struggles! Thank you for your videos💜 it’s truly helped
How are things for you now? Also 29 when I came off the IUD and had been in since 14/15 so very curious to hear how your life has been since coming off ❤️
it’s been about a month since i stopped taking the pill because of increased hair shedding and still waiting for improvements. thank you for this video
Dudeeee my hair is thinning so bad and my libido is garbage after years on the BC pill. I’m getting off the pill and changing to an IUD this month so this was so comforting to see that you had the same problems and found solutions. Thank you for being so vulnerable:-)
omgg! i felt the samee and my hair was falling out, i got off the pill in june of last year and my hair is growing back! and my libido is normal now lol! i got a copper IUD (i didnt want any hormones) best thing ive done!
@@romilombardi1792 I’m so happy that you found something that works! I’m getting the Kyleena IUD which has hormones, but my dr says because it is centralized (and not coursing through my body) that I should see positive results. Did it take a whole year for you to see hair growth? Or was it coming in little by little?
@@ericanettles3524 ohh ya my dr also mentioned kyleena! i started to see hair growth about a month or so ago, i have like chunks of short hair now on the top of my head lol, and my hair looks a little frizzy but its all little hairs that are now growing! im so impressed, i took birth control pill for 8 years!
Don’t do the iud! It’s the same shit as the pill! I have had it for 9 years and I am trying to get it out because I have gained 50 pounds, have zero sex drive, cystic acne, hair loss, fatigue, MASSIVE bloating, depression and back and lower abdominal pain! Not worth it, use condoms lol
Stopped the pill one week ago tomorrow and all I've been hearing since have been horror stories. I'm so glad I came across this video 🥺🥺❤️ this gives me hope that things will be okay
I naturally have fine hair but have been noticing a lot more fall out recently. i have been taking hair growth pills like crazy, but now i am convinced it is my bc. thank you so much for this!
Yesss when I first started noticing my hair thinning while on the pill I was also taking so much biotin and collagen to help but nothing helped until I went off. I’m a little over a year off BC and I still have baby hair growing in 😊
I've been considering getting off the pill as well. My doctor put me on it for acne in 2019. I didn't notice how much it affected me until I was switched to a new version two months ago and noticed my body composition changing, my libido, my breast size, my mood, my energy, etc. I'm so nervous to come off of it for the sake of my hormonal acne, as the root cause was never treated or found, but I feel so uncomfortable being on something that makes me feel like someone else. Thank you so much for sharing your experience.
I recently stopped the pill after being on it for almost 20 years (started at 13 because of very heavy periods, and I'm 32 now), and it has been pure horror. My skin is ruined, my hair is falling like crazy, I lost weight and I look really puffy. Let alone my mental health, which is out of control :/ But the mere fact that my body is doing these things is making me realize it's been "broken" for a very long time. I'm trying to hold on and not go back to the pill, but I do hope I am healing.
I was so obsessed with all your birth control series leading up to getting my iud removed!I’ve only been off it for 1 month and I can’t wait to do my other update videos. Vulnerability is everything so thank you for sharing your intimate and TMI experiences!
So glad I stumbled across this video. I was on the nuvaring (same hormones as the pill) and finally decided 2 months ago I needed to get off. I have been on birth control since I was 13-14 , I am now 26. I was just so tired of having uncontrollable emotions, crying at the very mildest of conversations to were it was ruining good relationships. It all linked to the birth control and I just can’t wait to regain my normal self .
Wow I can’t believe how much I can relate to everything you said! I’m one month off the pill and already see so much improvement in the mental health and skin condition. So crazy how the pill can make us angry and upset about the smallest things.. Glad we’re feeling more clear now, thanks a lot for sharing and opening up, it’s very important 🤍
I’ve been on birth control since I was 14, my 20th birthday was 4 days ago so I honestly have no idea who I am when I’m not drugged. I’ve been going on a journey the past few months of getting off of ALL medications (I’ve been on no less that 4 at a time for different physical and mental health conditions since I was 14) I’ve cut out the 3 antidepressants, mood stabilizers, and sleeping pills and my birth control is the last one I’m stopping starting today! What’s crazy is I’ve actually been less depressed, less anxious, and less angry since getting off the meds that were supposed to improve those conditions. I’m really hoping for good results in the next few months even if I have to make a sacrifice in the form of heavy painful periods. Thank you for this video, it really lessened my stressing over what the tail end of this journey will be like! God bless ❤️
@@Esthie229I’m getting off mine as well… about a week and then I’m done.. although I’m on depo so I can’t just stop taking it I have to wait for it to wear off
Thank you so much for talking about your mental health on and off the pill! I started taking the pill at the age of 16, I just turned 20. Around the same time, I was diagnosed with depression and took antidepressants. I'm finally at the point now where I don't need to take them anymore, but I've always had these strange angry/frustrated/irritable outbursts for the most minor things (eg someone saying good morning to me) I never thought the pill might be related. I'm super scared about side effects coming off, especially acne.
I was scared about acne as well but my acne never came back. Just make sure you get a simple regular skincare routine and use an acne wash. My periods are very irregular now though but to me it's better than being depressed and suicidal. I feel more in control of my emotions. Also you actually have to pay attention to your diet when you come off to try to get you body into balance
I never even thought my thinning hair could be from the pill! I have the same thing happening where the hair at my temples is getting so thin I put brown eye shadow to cover it up lol. Thank you for sharing. Also, I spoke to my gyno about my depression which started when I started the pill and she said it is highly unlikely to be caused by the pill... which I found hard to believe because those things mess with your hormones so much, glad to know I'm not crazy
Girl I did the exact same with the eyeshadow!! Doctors make money off the pill so of course they aren’t going to tell you to get off of it. That is why I did my own research and read books/articles from doctors who are actually against the pill. You’re not crazy girl!

For me coming off the pill was really bad until now. I am 4 months off right now. My skin is worse than before, my hair is literaly balding, I dont know what to do about it anymore. I gained weight and even though I am trying even harder in gym I cant lose it. I am feeling bad overall :(
I'm also experiencing more painful cramps after coming off the pill now for 6 months. Last time i remember having this indisposition and pms mood swings in general, was when i was a teenager. I never realized before how i had mood swings while on the pill. I have been suffering with my skin, a lot of hormonal acne, but i think in general it's better for us girls to leave our bodies the most natural it can be, just like you said there are non hormonal options.
This video made me so much more comfortable with the decision to stop the pill.. I reacted negatively to it, my body didn't take the synthetic oestrogen well... I think women need to be way more encouraged to decide on what they feel and experience, not what people or even doctors tell them they ought to do
Thank you so much for sharing your story and being so open!! Your story has helped ease my anxiety about coming off the pill. Your video and the comments had made me feel less alone. I originally went on the pill to control my moods when on my period but it just made them worse and more certain. Every month I would have horrible anxiety before I finished a pack/ had my "period", so after a year on the pill I gained the courage to come off of it. I'm just coming off my "period" now so my anxiety about stopping the pill has been rough. I'm going to stop taking my pills tonight. Wish me luck! ❤️
I’m out of the pill for 5 months now~ wooohoo! Best decision ever! At my 5th month pill free is the most difficult for me because only now I’ve started having some breakout hormonal acne.. like on the jawline, neck, shoulders and back.. it’s nothing to stress about but for me was scaring because I never had in my life acne and that was too much for me to handle. For sure it was the best for me to stop taking the pills because the last few months before stopping I was facing so so so many side effects. Like I was having too intense breast pains that I had to take pills for that and way too powerful migraines. Once I got out of the pill all these went away. My hair the first months became a bit too thin but now they are back to normal all thick and beautiful. Sure I’m struggling a bit with acne right now because of the hormones going crazy, but after all this acne will go away sooner or later once the hormones are back to normal and the best part is that I won’t have to struggle with remembering taking the pills everyday heheeh~ I’m so glad you’ve posted this video because honestly I thought I was going nuts with the after effects of the pill. I’m glad I’m not the only one! Don’t worry girls, we got this!!
Thank you for this! I Have been on BC for a year and a half now. I noticed that in the past months I have been losing A LOT of hair. Similarly like you, the most noticeable parts are on my temples. This has decreased my confidence so much. Additionally, I have been having extreme anxiety and horrible mood swings. I have been a bit scared to quit since I saw many testimonies of girls who lost hair when they quit BC, but seeing that you had the opposite effect makes me feel a bit more secure of quitting BC for good!
Yes girl I experienced it all!! I’m glad my video can give you some hope. My hair has gotten SO much thicker and shinier since coming off. Wishing you the best! 😘
I have exactly the same issues since i’m on the pil. They put me on the pil because i had a very big ovarium cyste, last check up it was gone:) Now i’m hoping i can quit with the pil without any cystes coming back. Because of Corona i must wait until hospital appointments are back to normal again to go for check ups. I’m so tired, have acne, libido rock bottom, hairloss, belly fat, breasts feel fluffy and my mood is cloudy and down. 😣 Thank you for sharing!
Thanks so much for doing an update! Im so relieved to hear so many positives from quitting, specifically about acne & hair. Those are my biggest fears coming off. Im finishing my last pack in a couple weeks! Have any of your supplements changed from the initial video? Thank you!
Of course! Glad I could help in some way! And that’s awesome that you’re getting off. You’re gonna notice amazing results. It may be tough at first but it’s just the synthetic pill coming out of your system so stick through it! And yes the only thing that changed in terms of my supplements is that I no longer take the milk thistle. I just finished the bottle and felt I didn’t need to take it anymore after a month and a half. It really helped though! Also, I started taking maca powder because it helps balance your hormones out. Hope this helped! 😊
I can't thank you enough for posting these videos and being so honest. I recently found out about symptoms you can have on the pill and after researching, watching videos, and reading "Beyond the Pill", I am so ready to finish my pack and be off of it for good! I am so grateful for all the advice about supplements and other tricks to help balance hormones. I got on the pill because of my hormonal acne and I'm nervous about what will happen when I come off. But I am hoping to have results like you and I'm so ready to not feel this way anymore. Thank you and I love your channel!!
Of course!! My goal is spread more awareness about the pill and it’s side effects. If you follow all the tips given in the book, I truly believe you will see great results. However, when it comes out of your system you will most likely see negative side effects first since it’s toxin coming out but remember to keep pushing through it because unfortunately it gets worse before it gets better. It was the BEST decision I’ve made! You got this!!
I never been on the pill. I'm in my late 30s and fed up with the period cramping. And considering taking the pill. But my period cramping got better after cutting carbs, caffeine and aiming to eat the carnivore diet. Thanks for sharing your experience.
I plan on stopping my pills at the end of my pack which will be late march-beginning of April. My hair has thinned and sheds a lot as well and I believe it’s my bc. I also feel tired and bleh all the time and the headaches…I’m nervous but excited. Thanks for your videos!
@@circa1890 I was on estarylla when I noticed my hair shed and headaches. It’s supposed to be a generic of sprinter. I switched to Volnea a few months ago. I feel like it’s not as bad. But still plan on stopping them.
@@mesinda1182 Yeah, Estarylla contains Norethindrone which is considered a "high index" androgen. Volnea contains Desogestrel which is considered a "low index" androgen. Many people think there isn't much difference when it comes to The Pill and hair loss, but the type of pill you use is important. More estrogen in a pill can also counteract androgenic effects .. such as in the case of Volnea. Hopeful that other women will know which pill they may want to take given that some contribute to hair loss and some don't (as much, anyway). Good luck on stopping Volvea! I'm planning on doing the same in three weeks!
@@circa1890 yess!! I had researched and learned about estarylla and that’s when I decided to switch to volnea in October. Thanks! I won’t be taking my Sunday start pill this week so my time is coming lol but im ready to see how my body naturally regulates and feels without synthetic hormones all the time. Good luck on your journey as well!
I found when I was on the pill my scalp was extremely sensitive and caused hair loss. I've been off the pill for about three months now and the pain has gone away! just waiting for my hair to grow back
I weng on birth control and always had long healthy hair. As soon as i got on birth control i gained 50 pounds in 6 months and lost most of my hair. Ive been so depressed about it and feel ugly. Never again! I am healing
I wish i could get off the pill but I would rather have the mood swings than the painful cramps. Being able to walk normally or even run during my period still seems like a weird thing to me.
I was so stressed and unhappy with myself. I gained a lot of weight and I literally starved myself and did everything to lose the weight and it wouldn’t work. Also I always had beautiful long thick hair and since I got the implant my hair got so thin. After 2 and half years of having the implant only now I realised and I can’t wait to get it removed.
I love this video! Thank you so much for talking about your experience. I’ve been having issues with my birth control for a year now and haven’t had sexual desire on the pills. I’m actually thinking of getting off of it, and I think it’s the best thing I could do And to cleanse my body from the hormones.
thank you for sharing your personal experiences! I’m on the patch but I could definitely relate to a lot of what you went thru. I want to stop birth control but it helps with my period regulation and also makes me feel safer (with sex). also my body is so used to it that one time when I didn’t wear my patch for a few weeks I started to feel so much nausea 😔 I also lose weight (and I’m trying to gain). however I feel my eczema mightve gotten worse and my libido/energy level is extremely low.
@@deethefam6508 oh god now I’m even more nervous 😂 I’m 99% sure this pill gave me severe anxiety, panic attacks and depression and I’ve been struggling really bad lately with it what if I come off and it sends me further into the deep end 😂🥲
@@annagesaman7429 I suffer from mania disorder so idk if it made it worse or maybe it’s my grieving or my brothers passing that triggered it but definitely HATE THE PILL lol
Some the things I also experienced: hair growth, better sex drive etc. But other things for me got worse. My skin got worse for at least the first year up until I got help from a dermatologist. That is the main part that was not better. I also got melasma which I had not had before. My mood improved 100% and that was the main reason I got off it. I would have mood swings, rage, low energy and just no fun in life at all. Coming off of the pill I only realized how miserable I had been. That being said I think it depends on what kind of pill you’re on (I was on a gestagen pill), how long you were on it, how old you are and if you have any pre existing conditions (I have severe endometriosis). For the cramps, I can only recommend going to your doctor regularly and getting ultrasounds to make sure you don’t have any zysts. There are also natural remedies and homeopathic medicine you can take to help with the cramps. For me a big part was also getting more in touch with my feminine side, my own sexuality, and being really comfortable with that part of me. I cannot recommend that enough.

thanks for sharing. ha, that's the thing with both hormonal birth control and all the iuds... like it not only prevents pregnancy in the intended ways, but also your libido just goes away.
I never get pimples now I'm on the pill, but I've noticed my hair is thinner and I now get dandruff. Also I hardly even bleed anymore, it's so light and I hardly even get red blood. It's just like I'm on the last days of my period for 3 days compared to 4 or 5 heavy flow days then lighter for the last two days, which I don't thinks a good thing.
I stopped the pill about a month ago. I noticed pain in one of my breast about a week ago. There is a lump there and I’ve been to the dr. She said it could be nothing and maybe a result of stopping birth control. Getting a mammogram Monday, super nervous. But I was wondering if you had any lumps form in your breast after stopping?
Hmm I’d have to say maca powder (balances out hormones), magnesium (stress reliever), and fish oil (great for hormones, brain health, skin, and hair). 😊
Hi! As mentioned in the video and the title, this is my 6th month update/my 4th video in this series. The first video in my coming off BC series (which is also linked in my description) I explained (and even showed) what pill I was on and more but since you didn’t watch that video I was on Blisovi fe 1.5/30 😊
@@Illerynee So i've now been off the pill since March 21. Periods normal, body normal, weight normal, mood normal - exactly the same as when I was on the pill. The only big thing for me is face acne. It never came on all at once but since then I just progressively got more and more spots until probably Jan 22 I could admit to myself it was definitely acne. As of November 22 I have had to go on Roaccutane (isotretinoin), which I'm still currently on. I haven't really had any big side effects from this at all and spots are nearly all gone. Its been a long road but hoping it is all done soon. Even with the acne coming I'm still 100000% glad I came off the pill as my gut was telling me I needed too. I just wish I had dealt with the acne w a dermatologist as soon as it started instead of waiting until it got bad. Sorry for long rant!
Well there are lots of people with Androgenic alopecia and birth control has helped block androgens in the body resulting in hair growth. There is also a lot of videos on RUclips about women loosing hair getting off birth control
I've been on the pill for 3 weeks now and have already noticed hair thinning. Since coming off the pill can cause hair loss as well, do you guys think my hair will get even thinner? Or have I not been on it enough for that? Will it still take 6 months?
If I were you, I would get off ASAP. The longer you wait the longer it takes to get out of your system. I wish I get off at 3 weeks before my hair receded horribly 😅
Lucky people who can go off the pill when they want, the pill is the only thing that keeps my periods from making my body go into shock from the immense pain resulting in an ER visit every month. So if you're someone who can't go off the pill - that is also ok.
I have endometriosis. My doctor switched me to the combination pill and I have gained at least 10 pounds since I started. I lost so much hair to the pill and I suffer from anxiety. I feel so bloated and look pregnant every evening. I am so jealous of you ladies who can just go off the pill because you are not using it as a treatment for women diseases.
I would love to get off hormonal birth control but I can’t😒 i have endometriosis and PCOS and my life would be hell (so much pain that i couldn’t work or get out of bed (yes, even when im not on my period)) without birth control. I have gained like 33 pounds in couple years only because birth control
Hey! Have you tried making some changes on your diet? Here in Brazil we are talking a lot about how birth control pills are not the solution for endometriosis. I'm not a specialist, but I do know some people who have endometriosis and went through the same issue with the pill. But with the help nutricionists and dietitians, who work with auto immune diseases, they have got a lot better (and off the pill).
I took depo for 2 years... I was depressed for 4 month then I had anxiety. I havent had period for like 6 month... I am always tired and on weekend I sleep 14 hours lol... the hardest thing is the anxiety... i ve no libido... I stopped one week ago thank God
I've been on the pill since Jan/Feb 2017, I was 17 going on 18 that year, which means I've used it for almost 5 years. Recently I came across an article in my home country where young women talked about how they felt like a different person and that their lives have changed since going off the pill and I started to reflect on myself and watch youtube videos like this one. I don't remember how life without contraception is like and I definitely have learned so much about how the pill works, I always thought I ovulated but that's actually not true. I also started to question why I still suffer from chin acne even though I use skincare that caters to acne and my skin type. I have suffered from a low sex drive ever since I got together with my recent boyfriend in 2019. Most of the time we use loob and sometimes I don't want to have sex but do it anyway because I don't want my bf to feel that I don't like his body or love him for all that matter. I thought it was so weird that I almost all the time didn't feel like doing it while he always felt the opposite. I also feel more tired and my mood can swing very often. I'm currently planning on going off the pill next month just so I have time to think and process everything I've learned. Hopefully I won't have too many changes like bacne and worsened face acne. When I get fully vaccinated I'm going to start exercise again and I hope that will balance my weight a little more since my body feels more bloated now because I stopped working out altogether since the pandemic started.

I had to come off birth control because everyday I felt so depressed it was getting worse. I also felt so sick. I’m 4 months off and Im feeling amazing !
@@KylaBeland and I lost my period too. had to take medication to have it again... and it didnt come after taking the medication off. i hate myself for taking the pill so mch :(
@@ashleighwilliams6929 it got just worst. the bumbs, the scars, the rednes... i take witamin c, d, zinc, folic acid, and now just started pantothenic acid.
Hi! I switched birth control brands in October and it caused my hair to thin soo much! I take a mix of progestin and estrogen, do you think switching to a pill with just progestin would help or do you think only stopping BC would help?
If you had bad cramps, I get the plastic reusable ice cubes. Then if you use them at night they don’t leak. Put them in a bag and then a tea towel around it and put them on my tummy, it works so much better then a hot water bottle!!! It just numbs the whole of your tummy 😂 it’s brilliant. And if you get cold put a hot water bottle on your back with ice on your front.... soooo gooood.
Hi! If you are interested, “Taking Charge of your Fertility” is a great book and talks about how the pill can just be a bandaid for an underlying problem! Definitely worth the read or at least reading the relevant sections if you want to learn more about your body and gynecological health ❤️
@@jenp1032 ah yeah I've heard of that book! I have polyps in my endometrial lining that will have to be removed soon. my periods have been absolutely unbearable for the past year, to the point that I've had suicidal ideation almost every month and symptoms of bipolar. I know there's a lot more going on than just my periods... mental health wise too. But I just need them to stop for now because I can't handle it anymore. So birth control it is for now. total TMI there but yes lol. It feels so hard to talk about stuff like this.
@@clo_beanery Ah totally makes since! Best to look after your physical and mental health first and then sort out natural options when you're ready :) If you don't already, I highly recommend talking to a therapist / professional on a regular basis, I have for the past year with COVID and it has helped me get into a good enough place to come off the pill! Sending you love and healing thoughts
Thank you so much for subscribing! Correct. I no longer count macros. I intuitively eat. I have a whole video about what I eat in a day as well. I want to say my macro breakdown is around 40-50% protein, 20-30% carb, and 20-30% fat. And yes, he is in the Navy! 😊

Hi thank you for sharing this video. I really want to go off the pill but don't want to get pregnant. Can you please share the natural birth control methods you were referring to
I’m going on my honeymoon in October and it’ll be when my period starts.. I was planning on going on the pill to miss my period just for my time at my honeymoon but I’m worried now because of the harsh side effects 🥺🥺🥺🥺
I did the same thing for my wedding last year and it messed up my cycle and I would spot the week I was supposed to start and actually start the following week. I know everyone is different but that was my experience
Sabrina Garman thank you! And it’s actually a cropped tank from Hollister that I got a long time ago but I know forever 21 has something very similar 😊
I personally had the complete opposite experience coming off the pill which i wanted to do for my mental health. I gained forty pounds in 4 months with no changes in diet, had a huge bald spot in the center of my middle part, developed cystic acne that would not clear for the life of me, and was getting my period twice a month. I went back on the pill and am now deathly afraid to ever come off it again. This just goes to show that the effects of being on and coming off of the pill are very personalized to the individual, but I love that you are documenting your journey.
My girlfriend is getting off of the pill soon, i didn’t realize all of the negative effects it has! your videos on the subject have made me so happy for her and increased her excitement for the transition. If only there were contraceptives for men.
That’s so sweet that you’re taking time to do research to understand her. She’s so lucky !
Love that you’re educating yourself on this for her!!! Tell her she got this and to hang in there if she experiences any symptoms of post birth control syndrome! It’s so worth it!
Yes a man that cares to know woman struggle ! Congratulations on being amazing!

Christine Duff thank you so much!! But I know right! The results are AMAZING. I can’t wait to be 8 months off like you 🙌🏼
I agree with SO MANY things you have said!
Magnesium and iron supplements saved my transition off the pill!
I literally couldn’t agree more to this!!!
Thank you for sharing😊
Today is my first day off the pill and I just can’t wait to not feel so sad and crying for no reason. I e been trying to get right with god too and sometimes it’s just hard when I just feel so miserable most of the time.
I TOTALLY understand girl! I noticed a difference almost immediately. You got this! 💖

EVERYTHING
I was planning on getting on the pill for the first time ever, I’m so glad that I found your video before I started taking it.
Don‘t take it! Please! There are other alternatives xx
The mental health thing on contraception is really so so so much deeper than poeple think. So thanks for sharing with us.
Thank you so so much for this video!!! I’ve been on the pill for three years and I’ve noticed insane hair thinning around my temples too. I thought I was the only one and everyone thought I was crazy for thinking it was because of birth control but I’m convinced it’s because of it!! I’m going to talk to my doctor about going off of it
I’m experiencing tht now and it’s driving me crazy
I'm crying watching this. I am stopping the pill tomorrow (it's the last one) and I have struggled so much over the four years taking it with mental health, more this year than any year and I am praying that getting off will really make a difference for me. I am so excited to do this but I am also so nervous! thank you so much for all your videos and updates they've really given me the courage to do this.
You got this! It will make you feel better knowing your off of it not worrying about what hormones are being put into your body! I would also say read the book beyond the pill it really helped me understand what to do when getting off of it and what it might have done to my body.
Reading this made me tear up. Thank you for sharing. I pray God heals and restores your mental health quicker than you ever thought possible.
just an update for anyone reading comments and to those up replied to me: I just want to say that my mental health has completely turned around in such a positive direction.
I’m three months off and all your videos have been so accurate. Even getting your period a week early on your second month off. Crazy. Thank you!!
Thank you so much for sharing this. I experienced the same thing with mental health on the pill and that's why I stopped it. I thought I was going crazy! Thank you for being so open.

Makes so much sense - the not being able to respond to stress and emotions is linked to the pill, our body is in trauma mode like fight or flight all the time and literally things it’s pregnant ☠️
Exactly! Our bodies are being tortured by the drug! Our bodies think we’re pregnant or going through menopause. I’m so glad I decided to get off of it
Dude I did NOT know that. Been off BC about two months now and I definitely notice a difference in how my body responds to stress. Before I would just start crying and catastrophizing but I’m more level headed now. Wild.
I made the decision to come off the pill recently. I’m 29
And I’ve been on the pill since I was maybe 17/18 years old.
How are you now? I think the pill has given me horrible anxiety and depression and panic attacks
Any update?

Hair update?!?!?!
You are 🙏🏻 I’ve recently stopped as well after 17 years and it is difficult but will get better!
I was so obsessed with all your birth control series leading up to getting my iud removed!I’ve only been off it for 1 month and I can’t wait to do my other update videos. Vulnerability is everything so thank you for sharing your intimate and TMI experiences!
Thank you for being authentic, my hair is thinning and receding from the pill. I stopped it a month ago.
Hang in there! Wishing you the best!
Please check your vitamin D and iron levels too. ❤️
How are u doin now?
So happy to find a Christian RUclipsr who talks about it all!
Yesss we need more!
So glad it helped!! Wishing you the best as you come off!

Hey, any update? I quit the bc patch yesterday, how you doing now?
How has it been? I'm thinking of stopping the pill soon for the same reason. I've been on it since I was 15 and I have no idea how I feel without it
@@Esthie229I’m getting off mine as well… about a week and then I’m done.. although I’m on depo so I can’t just stop taking it I have to wait for it to wear off
This gives me so much hope!!! ❤️ it’s been one month and I feel like my brain is breaking from the hormones are rebalancing
I am feeling bad overall :(
Same here😢
I'm also experiencing more painful cramps after coming off the pill now for 6 months.
Just saw this! But I’m so glad my videos helped! You got this! Wishing you the absolute best 💛
how did it go? was your mood affected when you came off from it?
This needs more views!
Glad you covered all these topics including sex drive. I am experiencing coming off the pill too, so can relate to everything
I stopped birth control 6 months ago and I lost a bit of hair at the Start but now I have more hair, a lot more volume.
Thank you for sharing!
Hi! How has your acne been since you got off the pill? I’m so scared to get off bc I’m scared of my acne coming back full force....
Which pill were you on?
I've been off the pill for about three months now and the pain has gone away! just waiting for my hair to grow back
Yesss the hair loss was so bad for me 😣 hang in there! It’ll come back 💛
Did it ever come back?
I weng on birth control and always had long healthy hair. As soon as i got on birth control i gained 50 pounds in 6 months and lost most of my hair. Ive been so depressed about it and feel ugly. Never again! I am healing
Thank you! I really needed this you are so real for this ❤
I wish i could get off the pill but I would rather have the mood swings than the painful cramps.
Damn this is such a good point! I noticed my higher libido when having period breake! I’ve never connected the dots!
THank you so much for making this video and being vulnerable and honest with us.
I want to stop birth control but it helps with my period regulation and also makes me feel safer (with sex). also my body is so used to it that one time when I didn’t wear my patch for a few weeks I started to feel so much nausea 😔 I also lose weight (and I’m trying to gain). however I feel my eczema mightve gotten worse and my libido/energy level is extremely low.
my eczema got worse from starting the bc pill!
I decided to get off the pill yesterday and im looking forward to being normal again!
Excited for you!!
How are you now?? I’m stopping at the end of the week after being on it 7 years and I’m so nervous
@@annagesaman7429 SO BLOATED ! Emotions are everywhere , weight still at the same for 4 months ... one of the main reasons I stopped
Thank you so much for sharing your authentic experience.. lots of love sister.. loads of power and good luck to you 💋🥰♥️✌
Of course!! Thank you 🥰
So I’ve been off the pill 2 months now and I can definitely confirm that I have a way higher libido!!
Yay!! So happy for you!
But how do you prevent pregnancy? I’m terrified of getting pregnant again
@@silviac4761 read the book „taking charge of your fertility“. You‘re not fertile 20 days of the month. Make sure you learn how to tell when you’re ovulating and then use a condom during those days.
@@interludeadventures508 thank you! I will look into that. I have 4 children and cancelled my tubal ligation surgery twice. I also have thyroid disease so birth control isn’t well tolerated.
What did you do go try to combat your acne? I’m extremely nervous to get off the pill bc I don’t want my acne to come back full force.. ):
@@stephaniechin1618 Before stopping BC I bought differin gel, I gave myself a month to adjust to the differin gel and then stopped my BC and that has made it so I get minimal post pill acne. I haven't had any cystic acne at all so far, just small pimples around the chin but the differin gel has helped A LOT
thanks for sharing. ha, that's the thing with both hormonal birth control and all the iuds... like it not only prevents pregnancy in the intended ways, but also your libido just goes away.
How are you doing now?? Did the mammogram turn out OK? 🙏
Thank you so much for these videos. You're amazing!! What 3 supplements would you reccomend the absolute most post birth control?
Hmm I’d have to say maca powder (balances out hormones), magnesium (stress reliever), and fish oil (great for hormones, brain health, skin, and hair). 😊
@@KylaBeland Thankss!!❤
I wish when people did these kinds of videos they would mention WHICH type of pill they were on... It would be more helpful.
Hi! As mentioned in the video and the title, this is my 6th month update/my 4th video in this series. The first video in my coming off BC series (which is also linked in my description) I explained (and even showed) what pill I was on and more but since you didn’t watch that video I was on Blisovi fe 1.5/30 😊
I neeeeded this thank you. I'd be on the pill for 8 years and about 3 weeks off and its not too pretty atm
Hang in there!! So worth it!
How long it took you to be back to normal?
@@KylaBeland Now I just have to figure out how to have sex and not get pregnant lol
Has the thinning stopped?
@@user-nv3723 yes I got off the pill and I did notice some more thinning after but it stopped and started growing back after about 1 year.
Lucky people who can go off the pill when they want, the pill is the only thing that keeps my periods from making my body go into shock from the immense pain resulting in an ER visit every month. So if you're someone who can't go off the pill - that is also ok.
Thts where I’m at right now. Super scared to go back to those awful cramps
I would try going to accupuncture and chinese herbal medicine. It has helped me a lot.🤗
I took depo for 2 years... I was depressed for 4 month then I had anxiety. I havent had period for like 6 month... I am always tired and on weekend I sleep 14 hours lol... the hardest thing is the anxiety... i ve no libido... I stopped one week ago thank God
How are you doing now? My depo should be wearing off in a week or so
Great video! I was wondering if you could do an intense dumbbell only glute video at some point? It would be so helpful! Just subscribedddd woo
Thank you! Yes, I will once the gyms open up. Until then I do have a dumbbell only lower body workout on my channel if that helps 😊
thank you so much for this
I've been on the pill since Jan/Feb 2017, I was 17 going on 18 that year, which means I've used it for almost 5 years.
When I get fully vaccinated I'm going to start exercise again and I hope that will balance my weight a little more since my body feels more bloated now because I stopped working out altogether since the pandemic started.
unreleated question! where can i get a cami like yours? Ive been looking for basic camis to wear with my black mom jeans and i cant find any with a V neck!
Love this!
When you were coming off the pill and around your 6 month mark did you cut out any gluten or dairy or other food groups?
Hi!! I saw you channel about ago, I took notes and tried getting off the pill and I feel great! I wish I did it sooner. I'm a small RUclipsr and I'm trying to grow my channel and I'm having trouble getting started.. any tips you can give to me???
I had to come off birth control because everyday I felt so depressed it was getting worse. I also felt so sick. I’m 4 months off and Im feeling amazing !
Totally understand!! So happy for you!
Me whom is not on the pill, not sexually active, not ever thinking about the pill: binge watches off the pill youtube videos 🤨
Hahaha literally me. I watch pregnancy/mom videos when I’m not even a mom not trying to be anytime soon 😂
Audio is very broken in this video :( or is it just me?
i got so much acne for getting of the pill :( after 6 months off my skin is a wreck...
Studies say it can take up to a year for the pill to get out of your system 😣 hang in there!!

Hi! I switched birth control brands in October and it caused my hair to thin soo much! I take a mix of progestin and estrogen, do you think switching to a pill with just progestin would help or do you think only stopping BC would help?
In my opinion, I think stopping BC all together would definitely help. Our bodies were not created to have extra hormones.
Im on just progestin only and im experiencing hair thinning in my temples. 🥺
Kyla, i have several hair fall and thininghairs i think i have androgenic alopecia i m 39 years old can i use brith control pills ?
If you had bad cramps, I get the plastic reusable ice cubes. Then if you use them at night they don’t leak. Put them in a bag and then a tea towel around it and put them on my tummy, it works so much better then a hot water bottle!!! It just numbs the whole of your tummy 😂 it’s brilliant. And if you get cold put a hot water bottle on your back with ice on your front.... soooo gooood.
Which pill were you taking?
Okay your periods on the pill sound like my periods without the pill... dr is recommending birth control to regulate my cycle
New sub here. Love your content. I assume you dont count macros? Or do you know round about your macro breakdown? Is your husband in the Navy?
Thank you so much for subscribing! Correct. I no longer count macros. I intuitively eat. I have a whole video about what I eat in a day as well. I want to say my macro breakdown is around 40-50% protein, 20-30% carb, and 20-30% fat. And yes, he is in the Navy! 😊

Thank you I thought I was the only one
which pill had you used
So the pill didn’t help your acne ???
When did you notice hair regrowth how long took
Thanks for sharing! I loved this
Unrelated but where is your body suit from?? 😂
Sabrina Garman thank you! And it’s actually a cropped tank from Hollister that I got a long time ago but I know forever 21 has something very similar 😊
I just stopped using birth control 😁😁😁😁
Yay!! Wishing you the best!
Thank you!
Now what are women supposed to do to avoid pregnancy
There are TONS of non hormonal birth control options 😊
I personally had the complete opposite experience coming off the pill which i wanted to do for my mental health. I gained forty pounds in 4 months with no changes in diet, had a huge bald spot in the center of my middle part, developed cystic acne that would not clear for the life of me, and was getting my period twice a month. I went back on the pill and am now deathly afraid to ever come off it again. This just goes to show that the effects of being on and coming off of the pill are very personalized to the individual, but I love that you are documenting your journey.
so did you gain weight with the pill? i’m getting on birth control soon but idk i’m scared about the side effects
@@sheygonzalez9259 I gained nothing but everyones body is different! Also the brand and type of pill they prescribe will have different effects.
