Dead topics: Titans is the worst show in the multiverse

- Titans season 4 has to be one of the most horrid experiences I’ve ever had the displeasure of sitting through. One of the worst superhero shows to ever hit the screen, and in my opinion the fact it lasted as long as it did is a testament to just how terrible Warner Brothers is at managing their intellectual property. I am very glad I never have to watch another episode of this dumpster fire ever again.

Unrelated, but I love how the usual Teen Titans lineup covers most major superhero archetypes. Robin's the martial artist, Cyborg's the high-tech guy, Beast Boy's the metahuman, Starfire's the alien, and Raven is the magic hero.
Cyborg wasn't in this show.
@matane2465 I know. I was just going on a tangent on the lineup since the 2003? show.
@@Shin_MothraTEEN TITANS are Awesome ❤️🔥
You also get the deity/divine enchanted and the speedster when you add in Donna Troy and Wally west and
Also this is a little cool thing I noticed, the two most powerful Titans are the girls. It's never really brought up or anything, but it's cool that the ladies are strong
I'm really baffled by what DC /WB is doing with the Titans .
They have a massively popular show based on the most famous teen super hero teams , they cancel it one of the worst finale episodes in history , they make a parody telling people to stop caring about the show while constantly relying on the original show to be popular , force the parody down everyone's throat .
They decide to make show actually meant for an adult teen titan audience , but make it feel like a fanfiction made 12 year olds who found the boys comic by accident
Jinx put a curse on the IP.
I'll say this the final season of titans in my opinion was really good
They refuse to give it a proper revival.
I'm sorry bro I was just kid I didn't know just how bad it was im sorryyyy man I was part of the problem plz forgive me
it's like the modern religious people these days. no offense to the chill and good religious people.
"Killing and stealing is not the Titan's way!"
Zehahahaha
Are you sure about that, Hank?
They took 3 seasons to introduce Lex Luthor, and then he dies immediately? Superman isn't even around to see it??? And also, why even did the stupid witch lady kill him? He was working with her to help her, and surely she could have used all that money and influence. Also, this is Lex friggin' Luthor. Surely he would safeguard himself against magic.
The reason why he dies immediately is because DC only allowed him to be used for 1 episode, 1 fucking episode.
The show's over but always remember...
Stealing and killing is not the Titans' way.
“Unless it’s the cops😤”- The Titans

Yes
I can speak arabic, and that's جينكس meaning jinx in arabic.
@@sarachabane8404 Thanks for confirming, My arabic is very basic but i can recognize letters and know what sounds they make, and i didnt know any word in arabic that sounds like that (google translate didnt know either, but i am happy to get a confirmation from an arabic speaker)

You're welcome
I know another Jinx with a lot of X’s on her outfit.
@Garagelab164 at least that jinx is subtle and isn't wearing just a plain t-shirt with her name on it. Idk there is just something so funny about this, where did she even find that t-shirt in-universe?
The good things about this show:
Nightwings actor
Some fights were decent
Deathstroke
Superboy was introduced pretty good
Some costumes were cool
Thats all I can think of
The blue man group was nice😂
Tbf most of the actors are good, the writing is terrible and what let's it down
The biggest problem with the gay relationship was that Tim was portrayed as underage or at least right on the verge of it and Bernard (I think that's his name) would have at least had to be mid 20s to 30s to be in such a high position in STAR labs.
Ravens actress was around twelve at the start
Beastboys was in his twenties
I'm starting to get suspicious of the writers for pushing two relationships with screwed up age gaps...
This was a big issue I had at the time because I could have swore Tim was High School age in the previous season and in this one he's flirting with a guy who seems like he'd be a teacher's assistant.
@@gooberbyleth7063that's actually why the relationship never went anywhere, they would always hint at it like "hey you know what's coming right, you want them to be a couple too right" then they would just like to sit next to each other in a very friendly manner.
@gooberbyleth7063 The difference is they never did anything physical and the characters they portrayed had an appropriate age gap.
I gave up way before that. To anyone that made this far, you are way stronger than me. 😂😂😂
I'm listening to it, though my ears are bleeding.
I think that I liked the idea of the show so I switched my brain off just to watch it.
I gave up halfway through episode one
Show was great until last seasom
@@christopherlamarre3331No, it really was not. But if you had fun, good for you my friend.
Beast boy's been able to turn into viruses before- or at least bacteria. There was an episode of the 03 cartoon where he turned into a bacterium so he and a shrunken gizmo could remove nanobots from Cyborg (admittedly i dont know if this is a thing he's done in the comics but this isn't a new idea)
22:02 ok fair critique but Morbius has been an antihero for a VERY long time- I know he's been one since at least Maximum Carnage, which was an arc written in 1993. Don't blame the Jared Leto movie
What is this Ben 10 now
Bacteria are at least considered _alive_ , unlike viruses
What weirds me out is, what happens if he goes through cell division? A single bacterium isn't going to get far on its own, so if he is asexually multiplies, what are the other new bacteria to him? Are they clones with free will? Can each reshape to a human independently? Are they considered his children? Or is the entire 'beast boy' bacteria is him? I know there is magic in that universe so I don't need a real detailed scientific explanation, but this can be interesting
@@fruity4820 canonically they are just micro parts of himself maybe physically maybe mentally
Its really disturbing how killing and injuring innocent or at least not as guilty as the main villains people became so normal in shows and movies that are supposed to be about heroes and stuff.
"It's a cop!! HE'S GOT A GUN!!!!" 👊💥👊💥☠️
Its much nicer when heroes have moral codes and decide to be better. Strong enough to be gentle, and all that.
When they kill lower tier villains casually they really just become cops. And at that point, what if theres no supervillains? No demons, world threating mercenaries and alien invasions? Then you get The Boys.
A world where unheroic people have too much power to “fight” normal crime. They’re like these cop-supers but without any good sides.
I don’t want them being like that.
@@galahad6300 I see a lot of people not liking the "no killing rule" that heroes have
@@realdragon And there's good reason to dislike it as a very strict, unquestioned rule. Sometimes it does not make sense for the character or their backstory to be against killing; or it does not makes sense for how high the stakes are, or how much danger the villain can/will/did cause.
But the conflict over killing needs to be adressed in the story! The characters should think and worry about whether or not killing is ok or not. There needs to be an actual conversation in the text about what everyones moral standing is on the topic. Because that's good characterisation and can help a story to get some depth.
Just throwing out a no-kill rule without depth is just as boring as heros killing people without caring.
But showrunners that don't care about good writing anyway use every excuse to pretend it's not their incompetence that makes their product boring.
@@HolyShinta I've seen even argument that Batman is immoral because he doesn't kill which is absolutely stupid. If putting criminals behind bars is immoral then I must be war criminal because I don't fight crime
36:56 Y’know this scene is probably the smartest Superboy has been in this show. Him saying that stealing and killing is, in fact, the Titans way while putting a Jim Carrey face is not what I expected from Conner “I keep forgetting I have superpowers” Kent.
It's that goofy thing marvel was doing in the books a while back where they'd put the sensible counterargument in the words of the villain
@ Oh really? Can you give an example?
@FreneticFanFelusky back when Jane foster was being paraded around, they paraphrased fan complaints about her stealing thor's name and had absorbing man telling her this mid fight with her
I’m still laughing that they made Jay Lycurgo play Tim Drake, like Duke Thomas is right there and more accurately represents the backstory of the version of Tim Drake they made from what I remember lmao. Deciding to race swap a character instead of bringing an already established poc superhero into the show is so fucking lazy on their part
Jay Lycurgo is half white, why can't he play white characters, but can play black ones?
@ I’m not saying he can’t, I just thought it was funny they drastically changed Tim’s backstory (from what I remember the show made his origin, it’s been a few years since I’ve seen the show) when if they just made him Duke Thomas, an underrepresented character would have gotten time in the spotlight and it would have made more sense than making him Tim Drake
@@neophyte1533 Biracials can play BOTH sides of their family tree. They're not designated to ONLY black roles
@@suzygirl1843
You're assuming the showrunners care about acting talent and merit, and not just woke virtue signaling to make themselves feel good while destroying the characters and lore. They don't care about the things that actually matter.
@@MarvinPowell1 What's Woke about Titans? They went gritty, that's the problem. Besides, that boy is BIORACIAL, it is in the name. He goes both ways, he can't play a black characters only because America has the racist one drop rule. Everywhere else around the world, he's seen as different from black
Using ravens to find Raven is like asking spiders the identity of spiderman
The Teen Titans Movie will be under the watch of James Gunn, he seems to have more respect to Comic Book characters than the creators of Titans show.
Let’s hope
it's hillarious that Doom patrol used Cyborg better than titans and he was just a normal guy for two thirds of that show.
They just liked wasting characters, Deathstroke was killed in an allyway, Red Hood was a raging psychopath, Jinx died instantly, and Brother Blood barely had any development.
To be fair Jason was a raging psychopath in the comics after under the red hood. He was the main villain of the bat family for a while.
We finally got a live action version of Tim Drake, and it's the modern version because of course it.
47:01 dude, i screamed out loud, i literally was talking to myself saying "and they're probably having sex cause this show is either edgy or horny" as a joke, I'm on a professional writting level apparently
High Guardian Spice should've gotten a second season just so you couldve had the free content 😔😪

It’s a joke.
I always find it so hilarious how superheroes just are absent whenever the plot needs them to be. This is something that is just inevitable with superhero shows that have a larger superhero universe attached to it, but shows like Titans really don’t try to be all that creative with their justifications.
If you steal and kill but have good reflexes its a victimless crime
If you steal and kill but no one ever bothers to arrest, prosecute, and sentence you, then did you ever really steal or kill?
Dave has the mental resilience to be a messenger in WW3, no enemy could torture the info out of him because nothing they could do to him would be worse than watching HGS so often and all these other terrible shows.
Booo noo nooooppoo The Spice must not flow
"and then ninja showed up"
Wasnt it one of writing tropes that if you don't know what to do then write that suddenly ninja/gun showed up from which you can easily write additional pages?
Imagine if Ninja had a low taper fade
Its so cute how they’re going for an oldboy/daredevil fight scene but he uses those Batons like he’s lightly playing air drums
Yay f*ck unjust copy rights claims! I was not looking forward to waiting another weak for this one
as a gay..the tim drake stuff is cringe adds nothing to the show..i do agree the show takes itself way to serious
45:27 tbh, they didn't explain the cipher because it's not that complex, they end up making the characters double dumb
9:48 OMFG this nightwing gives 0 fucks about the no killing code, just brutally murder two people and doesn’t react or nothing 🤣🤣
I don’t understand how you can have the patience to watch this shit. Kudos to you friend.
Both the heroes and the villains have powers that they are only allowed to use once. At least it's fair?
"Aw darn it I've used my one lightning bolt!" "Aw darn, my doom laser is on cooldown!" "I guess we'll just wrestle?" ... "Sure"
The first season of Titans is like the only one that was at least watchable. The rest of them are just terrible. Thank god I tapped out after watching the first couple of episodes of Titans season three. This is the worst show I have ever come across in my life.
Well there’s also almost everything about CW Flash to compete for that title….
S4 was amazing, S3 was good but has way to many storylines going on, and S2 is by far the least favorite season
But stealing and killing isnt the titans way.
54:30 - That was supposed to be Bwana Beast, but they could not even give him his costume, or keep his animalistic personality.
Well, in their defense, Jinx became a hero in the Teen Titans cartoon (which this version seems based on). I just wish they actually led up to this heel face turn by introducing her as a recurring villain 2 seasons ago. Annoying though that they just never make her anything like the cartoon version, who had bad luck magic powers (not this nonsensically super powerful magic that does anything possible), and they never make her memorable. I liked her being a hard-working professional villain who wants to be taken seriously in the final TT season, and eventually Kid Flash makes her realize she is better cut out to be a hero.
Showing Jinx transition from villain to hero via having her as a recurring villain in Seasons 2 and 3 is the route Titans should have gone in. It is definitely annoying they make her nothing like her cartoon version when they easily could have Made her an amalgamation of her cartoon and comic versions. I loved her mini Arc in Teen Titans Season 5 as well.
If I hear anyone say they are going to watch Titans, I will tell them to watch the 2003 animated series instead because Telling someone they should watch Titans is cruel and unusual punishment, to say the least.
Titans turning out to be a dumpster fire, just shows DC/WB Universe should have already done a revival of the 2003 series.
@@jturner2577 I know this isn't a popular take but, Things Change was the perfect ending for the show in my eyes. what I want to see is a completely new Teen Titans animated series based on Geoff Johns's run of the comics. but that's just my opinion. If anything I definitely want Teen Titans Go canceled finally, because screw that show.
Telling someone to watch a show which destroyed all of the characters appearances on how they suppose to look based on what the 2003 gave us aka whitewashed them in 2003
@@Starfirelordnsavor dude, you are trolling. how did the 2003 animated series "whitewash" the Titans?

Look I really don't like Teen Titans Go, and I don't like how the creators act about it, but it's better than what we got on the "adult" side
When Superboy Luthor just said on that scene the absolute truth that the Titans are also killers i think that i almost feel in love with him there. Finally ! Someone just said it ! But of course, they just brushed him off, just like i imagine that the creators of shows like this, Gotham Knights and Batwoman do with any fan opinion, i am sure. But at least now i can say that i kinda like 2 characters on this show, instead of only that Jericho kid from season 2. 😂

11:00 that's not entirely Lexs belief system about Superman what I can boil that down to essentially is Lex Luthor believes that as long as Superman exists Humanity will eventually stagnate because we will come to rely on a super-powered being
At least in the comics that's how it is
I mean he’s right but he doesn’t make Supes job any easier he could be a great hero if he chose to stop being petty.
Dude this show is so bad and it shows. I bet the Actors read more than the writers of this show.
A wonderful review! I love how you sound more and more done as the video goes along. Congratulations on finishing, condolences on watching it all. When you started crying when Starfire survived I lost it.
one part of this season i find funny is how they obviously had no plan with dick and starfire relationship as apparently dick was in love with starfire in season one even though not only had they spend most of the time in the first three seasons either arguing with each other and go on completely separate and disconnected storylines that barely has anything to do with each other in season one finale they show dick was happily married to dawn not starfire even though dick apparently was in love with starfire before this
you say that but the shadow realm literally just exists cause 4kids wanted to censor death.
but i do agree calling anything the "death realm" is just stupid
Now the realm of death is diferent
You know, if I had the power of “the blue“ I would quit being a superhero I just start making renewable energy. I mean that thing is stated to be the equivalent of 10,000 suns.
Do you know how many people you could help with that kind of power instead of just punching people in the face with it? And even if you want to be selfish about it imagine the contracts you could make
The way Jinx's powers are used in this show is unclear and stupid at best.
Richard Hatem? He must really hate Dick, then... :P Also, Sebastian is supposed to be Brother Blood from the comics, but like... he was never in any way connected to Trigon there.
22:00 I understand what your saying but to be fair Morbius was less of a villain in the comics and more of an anti hero and Jinx did because a hero in the cartoon.
They could've written superboy like the animated show, him only have SOME super strengh and super durability
Fun fact: I remember watching all the Flash' season that was available on netflix and deciding on which show I should watch next, Titans or the Legends of Tomorrow? I decided to watch Titan's first but I got bored after the first episode and moved onto Legends of Tomorrow. That day changed my life fr.
This show was still going? I thought it ended in 2020?
it took a break in 2020 cause of Corona.
To be fair the bat family members performing super human feats is pretty comic accurate
HE'S BACK!!!🗣️🗣️🔥🔥
57:14 they are pulling a Deadpool and Wolverine... but not in a good way, and not a funny middle finger to CW... they think they are being clever and funny by copying it, but in a "possitive spin"
19:17 that ain’t Jinx. The one I know is much more trigger happy and dangerous.
I made it through the first season and gave up when they killed donna troy. Season one was difficult enough I can only imagine what it devolved into in the latter seasons.
I agree with you on the continuing trend of turning villains into antiheros into heroes being way out of hand, especially when heroeses get turned evil all too often, but to my understanding, Morbius wasn't created as an actual supervillain. Could be wrong, but that's been my understanding. It's why when I first heard they were doing a Morbius movie I was kind of intrigued... then I realized it was a Sony project, and then the reviews happened. Because unlike Venom or Madame Web, a standalone Morbius movie makes sense. Unlike Kraven, him being a protagonist doesn't feel wrong. A vampire born of Science! It's a neat conceit, even without there being actual mystical vampires around for contrast.
I never knew this show existed, and I got randomly recommended this video covering season 4 of it.
Glad I've given up on watching tv or streaming services.
The multiverse scene was so cheap, why were all those visions/windows in rectangles!? It's like a slideshow. 😅
The ONLY thing Nightwing's scene got right is that he looks surprisingly good in pink. But that's not a compliment since he is also apparently very good at adding black to the boys in blue. Seriously though, what kind of cheap-ass rubber pellets are they using to make sure that shotgun doesn't break wood? Yes, suspension of disbelief and all that, and the Rust incident, but still...
I would love to see more Doom Patrol, can you tell me which episodes and timeframes they're in?
Titans was like 6 years too late for the big trend of every superhero under the sun being given a grimdark reboot, and it wouldn’t have worked anyway because the Titans aren’t the fucking Crimebusters
I literally heard "You cant defeat me" and said "No but he can 😎" as a joke. Bro actually stole the line I cant with this show
I hope the teen titans in the DCU they would be better than the titans show

Hey, did you know you sound a lot like Penguine0? Not all the time, but a lot of times your word choice and tone sound very much like him. You must be from the same part of the states. Anyway, good content. Well done.
The only thing that sounds reasonably okay is Lex getting poisoned by kryptonite... because that's a plotline from the justice league [I think? one of them] animated series. not sure how that was resolved there, but it wasn't "give him kryptonian cells", I think.
also with dark elves, for Marvel they're at least an actual part of Norse mythology.
I'm guessing the biggest issue was luigi? Yea, it's so sad that the CEO died.. He was only a victim and a hero.
Not gonna lie, Superboy making fun of the Titans was his best moment.
Holy wasted franchise Batman, they made 4 seasons of Titans
Ok, most of the complaints are valid, but at the same time, it's more than obvious that you know shit bout the Titans in the comic books.
So is Starfire not an alien in this or...?
She is.
Come on, the live action teen titans movie is going to be a totally different thing it doesn't even have the same people working on it, so I don't know what you're worrying about.
Yes but will the execution be any better?
I will miss the amazing characters like Mister Light and uh...
Didn't even know this show was still a thing
I remember watching a few episodes when it came out and thinking how awful it is.
@attilamarics3374 i know i watched some of it, i can't remember how many episodes, though 😅
@ I dont get it tho, how it has high ratings in some places.
Shows care more about girl bosses than character development and logic
Damn Lex Luthor is really being screwed non stop on adaptations, huh ? I think Jesse Luthor is still the worst, followed by Alan Luthor from Supergirl.
The only good ones are DCAU and Smallville versions
If you read the comics or heck watch the MCU stuff you would know that these characters have to stand on their own.
It’s dumb when people ask where’s the Avengers when this was happening, where was Superman and such.
Doing other stuff.
More accurately every character has to deal with things on their own even save the world.
What’s the point of the other Avengers if they just called Thor or Doctor Strange every time they had an issue?
What’s the point of any DC character if they just called Superman every time?
Why even do another solo superhero movie, just make 30 minute shorts where Superman or the entire Justice league clean up Gotham, Star City and such.
5:00 I'm gonna go ahead and say it, that particular complaint (the other superheroes never being around when they could be) is unfair. :D It's a convention in the genre that no one else is ever around when something goes down. In DC, pretty much every main hero has it's own city to take care of. But Marvel is a main culprit of that, New York hosts the Xmen, the 4 fantastic, the Avengers, and a host of solo heroes like Spiderman and the defenders. Yet, when something goes down that could destroy the city, somehow only the team on the cover of the comic is around. :D
Addressing the Beast Boy not knowing Cyborg confusion, Beast Boy was in the Doom Patrol originally IN the Titans tv show in season one, but he immediately joins the Titans instead to help them out. Cyborg joined Doom Patrol after Beast Boy left, so they never crossed paths, but both have been in the Doom Patrol.
Finally the final part has arrived, being waiting for this one
Your videos convinced me to watch the show. I originally left after season 1

I genuinely didn’t remember anything about this show, and that says a lot.
This is like an inside joke at WB to spite the fans because of the childish teen titans go hate.
As a fan of the titans in both the comics & 03 cartoon it’s being tiring for a while (with a few exceptions like young justice 1 & 2 and the animated movies) and I hope the James Gunn dcu movie fixes that.
Ngl the action scenes are good. Specially Nightwings.

Pretty sure Jinx was an antihero in the animated Teen Titans...
"The Red" is an actual thing in the comics. It's not that difficult to understand. It's just like "The Green" from Swamp Thing, but for animals and blood. It's not a concept for people who don't read comic books, this is way past nerd 101, it's still very simple though... 😂
13 Reasons Why victim.
I mean, in Seasons 3 & 4, they portray Monty de la Cruz & Bryce Walker (two r8pists) as sympathetic villains the audience is somehow supposed to feel bad for and have Bryce try to redeem himself despite all his atrocious deeds.
The biggest problem with this show would be that there was like 3-4 episodes per season where they’d find their stride and the show would actually suck you in and get good (for titans at least), but it never lasted. Far too much filler and yet they rush the main plot along every season to the point where everything feels like an unimportant side quest to something else. At least the suits were good and you could tell the actors loved these characters, I also wouldn’t be surprised if in a couple years a few of them throw shade at the writing on this show because it was very clear that they as fans of the titans, didn’t love this show.
See I've only watched the first season so I had no idea that it got worse.
