27:30 This genuinely only made sense in Teen Titans, the animated show. Because Slade was built up as an actual threat that didn't NEED powers. It took Terra sacrificing herself to take him down, which was an impactful moment. Then in Season 3 he was revived from the dead by Trigon, and ended up betraying him to get his living body back, only to become a threat once more after they beat Trigon. What made him so great is that you never knew what he was planning. How far ahead he planned. Or what he was capable of. Trigon was a world ending threat, but Slade was manipulative, and capable of taking down all of the Titans at once. You weren't meant to think he was stronger, you saw him as SCARIER, and potentially more dangerous. What Titans lacked was the build up of Slade as a genuine threat.
Since this probably needs mentioned again: The original, animated Teen Titans show is actually a pretty solid adaption of the covered story arcs from the comics, with the changes being caused by needing to hit a max cap on the rating, streamlining, or just plain...removing plotlines which needed to go. (I'd say the first two are why we lose the black comedy of Dr. Light's life -- even the people at DC forgot that Dr. Light didn't get nerfed, Dr. Light explicitly chose to switch to fighting the Titans because he was tired of having his clock cleaned by the JLA & figured hey, these are teenagers, I should be able to beat them...and I think the point was to show us that the Teen Titans are NOT just Baby JLA.)
Notes for the 2nd season: Comics canon, Rose kinda hates her dad for various reasons, including having left her at a house of negotiable virtue for years (which was NOT good for her mental health and she knows it); she's also Jericho's half-sister. Jericho had a full elder brother whose his girlfriend (fiancee?) threw a fit & dumped him for...letting Starfire in his apartment & having aliens chasing her trash it. He blamed the Titans (instead of recognizing that he dodged a bullet) and underwent the same treatment his dad did...and Slade blames the Titans for his favorite kid's death. I legit have no clue why Speedy (Green Arrow's sidekick) was replaced by Hawk & Dove (nor why they aren't basically magical girls here). Admittedly don't see how this would have changed anything, but still. It's baffling AF. On 'let superheroes be superheroes' -- I actually feel that's entirely a writing problem. It's just more difficult to write a mystery/thriller where the superheroes are having to actually identify (possibly even with evidence!) who the villain is, because the villain reasonably decided to be low-key to avoid being on the receiving end of beatdowns. It'd have probably been also the right choice given the likely budget of this season, though. (It'd certainly have been probably better to keep Slade's original motive more intact too.) Jason -- My guess is the writers were LIVID that somebody had accidentally cast an actor who came in knowing their role...and, reportedly, was willing to go "Yeah the script you gave me sucks I'mma just gonna improvise my lines."
36:03 I think they expected people to have prior knowledge of the characters and just... Know why these characters have the powers they do, which is a massive fault of the writers. But the best explanation is that Slade gained his healing factor and superhuman abilities from a Supersoldier Serum. Because of the genetic alteration, his kids were mutants. So the best explanation could be similar to something like Marvel Mutants or Quirks from MHA. Random abilities that can be born from pre-existing powers combined, or have no connection and be entirely new abilities due to the inherent abnormality of having powers to begin with.
Watching the whole show is a pretty hard punishment - even for hell. I gave up during season 2, when it was clear this will never be at least so bad it's good. Which is something i expected after the gloriously awful "Fuck Batman!"-trailer ...
i love supercuts still hate that yt is so afraid of words that when a fictional character in a fictional series wants to end their life you cant just say "they commit suicide" or "they kill themselves" its fucking fiction youtube
It's funny how Jason got screwed over by his "family" snd by the writers in the same show. I was actually waiting for jason be the Redhood aftwer how they treated him in season 2 and kill this mofos, surprise surprise what a disappointment, they could have saved him up late down the line, but y'know people's trash aren't always treasure.
Bro i ain't waching 4 hours of dunking on Titans 💀💀💀 i'll leave it on mute and opened so you'll get some watched time for stats, but that's max i can do.
I remeber watching s1, and the cliffhanger didnt even bothered me that much, because the show was so incoherent, that by that point i didnt know enough about what is going on to noticed they pulled off such a cheap cliff hanger.
While the writing is important the aesthetics in the super hero genre are just as important. While the Teen Titan cartoon had great writing the character designs and animations were top notch. Every thing in this Titan show looks so cheap and hates the charm of the source material. Can say Starfire actress is a bad cast visually (she is) because no effort was made to pay homage to any version of the Starfire character which also showed in the writing. If people can do Mystique and Gamora perfectly in multiple films their is no excuse for this bad casting of Starfire in the Titans. Can't believe this has to be said in a visual media.
1. The beginning: where you introduce all the major characters, their roles in the story, and their general info. 2. The middle: where you narrate the whole season and an in-depth review. 3. The conclusion: where you explain why whatever happens, happens in the first place, you rate it, and point out where it could have been better. Like, sub to the channel See you next time. That'd be nice.
@@Polxzaw titans because they don't deserve those 4 seasons with how shit the show was at least Velma is long dead even tho the second season felt like it exist to spite us
Bro why on gods green earth did you put a haunting ghostly groan as the background noise for your video? It's so distracting I literally searched my tabs to see if i was playing a different video like a creepy pasta vid or something cause i thought no way this is coming from the titans review vid. I'm just genuinely curious about the stylistic choice.
Ahem.... would you want to watch the Halo Tv show together and undergo the god awful pain of it so others dont have to. Its worse then gotham knights or titans man.
Why, yes, I would love to watch these reviews a seventh time!
You mean for the 100th time
Same
Great for going to sleep

Didn’t know I was seeing different seasons on the last vid lol, this sum high quality content can’t wait to see this grow
Your review of the show is better then the show itself. That’s a compliment btw
2:28:33 Don’t forget how much stronger it is when it’s “KK in a wheelchair.”
Goated Dave making a full compilation
At long last, Ive been watching them individually the whole week. NOW it is time to watch the whole thing, again! Together! As one big thing!

What’s a worse show. Titans or High Guardian Spice.
Titans
HGS was at least trying to be upbeat and respect its characters.
@ that’s true. And at least there are a couple of redeeming things about the show. Not enough to make it an okay show but still
