Hard disagree. Teen Titans 2003 is peak, but they should give newer generations and fans more interpretations of the characters. The Teen Titans are awesome characters, the last thing I’d want to see happen is for TT related media to stop being made.

They never got Raven right. She is supposed to mediate to keep her powers in check. We never see her mediate. She is nothing like her character in the animated series
@@leafyishereisdumbnameakath4259 Yeah, as someone who’s been reading the old 80s wolfman run, 2003 Raven has a completely different attitude to the one from the comic.
The show overall just seems mean spirited. Like basically everyone's role is to just be a either a fool or just an ass. What is the song at the end? It's kind of catchy.
Feel bad for a lot of the young kids and adults that have grew up with these cynical superhero content. Remember when saving people and being a good role model came naturally with the genre. Even edgy characters like Deadpool and Punisher saw the virtues in such characters in their world. Takes a whole lot of skill to restrain and knockout skilled opponents trying to kill you. That is what made character without powers like Batman so interesting for me growing up. The children he trained and raised over the years also adopted that philosophy. Even the ones that had the most blood on their hands.
Season 4 is probably the only good one not even going to lie to you. Season 1 kinda hurt but I was hoping it’d get better. Season 2 looks better, better fights, but the story was far worse. And the trigon fight was ass. Season 3 honestly started off great with red hood. Visuals and fights looked fucking excellent. Then became ass with the scarecrow arc. And season 4 has an okay story but way more focused (except the beast boy bullshit) but the fights are actually the strongest in the show. And the titans actually feel like the heroes they should’ve been a long ass time ago. And imo brother blood and mother mayhem were pretty good ngl.
The worst part of this show in my opinion is that these are all characters who can be done well, be interesting, and have character arcs that make sense and invest you emotionally, but the show just fundamentally sucks at using what already exists. This show will probably someone’s first introduction to the characters and think this is what they are. I had bad enough feelings around Teen Titans Go (though that was mostly my feelings toward kids media that’s not willing to put in effort just because it’s for children). I’m willing to admit that the DCAU was a large part of my childhood entertainment and thus I’m likely biased but I can acknowledge when things are stupid. Young Justice was highly flawed and I enjoyed that because it was at least good enough that I wasn’t constantly asking what the hell was going on. Additionally it’s not like the comics are the hight of perfection but they at least give you the impression that everyone is busy enough with their own stuff to be too preoccupied to help others with their shit. Everyone is in their own comic runs so if you ask “Hey where the hell is Batman and why isn’t he helping Nightwing out?” You can look at the Batman comics and go “Oh yeah he was stopping Ra’s from buying China” or something. I understand why tv shows and movies have more difficulty with this but it does raise questions. I get annoyed with that in the MCU too. In Spiderman 2004 Peter can’t escape being Spiderman until he makes the effort to because he lives in New York and there’s always crime he would feel guilty if he wasn’t there to stop. Spiderman in Spiderman Homecoming has to call his manager or whatever to ask for assignments or something. People need to stop making superhero universes with a single problem at a time.
"Hey boss,I'm bored, i know we live in one of the bussyest and crime ridden places in the world but...theres just nothing to do. Not even petty crimes."
It's kind of a funny idea, the orange soda being a significant relationship detail. Like if you break up, you get a little emotional when you see a glass of Hi-C. It's freaking weird
To be absolutely fair... Slade's family is a mess in the comics as well. As well as Jericho and his weird person-controlling powers and Rose, we also have Grant/Ravager who is literally just Deathstroke but again and also Slade's brother who keeps trying to kidnap and/or kill them all. And, yeah, Jericho can just sort of do that. There's never been a real explanation of his powers beyond "Because comics."
Okay so you talked about how the first episode is basically the season finale of the last season. This happened because of COVID. This wasn’t the writers fault. This is not a defence of Titan’s.
To think I actually thought there were stuff in this show worth defending, especially in season three….. I was clearly being too nice to it and Trigon’s second death was the nail in the coffin.
"Stripperfire gets contacted by an alien bodyguard she's in love with and he wants her to take the throne of Tameran but Blackfyre wants to rule Tameran..." bro they legit just ripped off the plot of Dune... lmao
What I'll say in defense of Jericho is that in the original comics, the experiments gave Death stroke the power to unlock 100% of his brain (based on the outmoded myth that we only use 10% of our brain). With that being his power, Jericho's power makes slightly more sense
Starfire beats up cops: YAS QUEEN ROSE beats up cops: YES!! Robin beats up cops: Did nuthin wrong. JASON beats up cops: Okay, lbr he should be allowed to, he got done dirty this show.
That is, in fact, Jericho's power in the comics, so that at least isn't a negative of the show. As far as I remember it's like a general mutation caused by Slade's altered DNA. The rest of the video is great, you did a good job of making it entertaining.
21:55 I am not big into the dc comics so I might be about to make a fool of myself, but I feel like there’s an easy fix for this. Raven’s powers are clearly darkness based, so have her be nullified by dr. Lights powers. I know it’s stupid but this show has done stupider shit and will do stupider shit later from what I’ve heard so at least try to have it make sense
well.. no her powers arent darkness. Her powers are demonic in nature. So her weakness would be something like the cross? lol Basically she struggles with her powers getting out of hand. Shes the most powerful of the Titans if she actually was mad enough she could destroy the planet. Hence why shes "emo" all the time cuz if she doesnt keep her emotions in check then her powers go nuts.
@@johnynoway9127 You are correct, but OP has a point because the show clearly didn't care about adhering to established canon. So they could have made Raven's powers based on darkness and had her weak to light.
Apparently dr. Light is supposed to be super powerful but got majorly nerfed at some point by making him so dumb he can’t use his abilities well or to their full potential. So I think if they made Dr. Light as powerful as he should or could be, it would be a decent excuse.
Yup. Iirc, Atlantians have denser bodies than humans because they've adapted to deep sea pressure, so they're supposed to be bullet resistant at least, if not completely bulletproof
Here’s a list of problems with The Titans 1. The characters are all unlikeable. 2. Trying way too hard to be dark and edgy. 3. A lot of fan favorite DC villains and heroes were butchered. 4. The Pacing is a mess. 5. The heroes do nothing but angst about their problems. 6. The costumes look cheap. 7. Beast Boy’s powers were also butchered. 8. A lot of death scenes were stupid. 9. Over use of the dark cinematography where it’s hard to see. 10. The fight scenes are mediocre. 11. The heroes always end up breaking the number 1 rule, never kill a bad guy. 12. It did not respect the source material. 13. The over use of swearing, especially the F word.
Krypto has a duplicate of Superman's mind and yet everyone in the show treats a little more a dog and I don't think Garfield gave him any meaningful interaction either. To Krypto, he's imprisoned inside the body of a dog because no one has brothered to explain he's not Superman but a clone fusion of Superman's dna and a dog.

They should've just used the 2003 Teen Titans show as inspiration. I have no idea what they were going for here. This show was just awful. There's no reason to even watch it because none of the characters resemble the characters they're based on.
Jericho was important in the comics, but only in the Titans comics, and sadly he got turned evil for stupid reasons before dying and staying dead. Also, yes, he had body jacking, despite that not lining up with his dad or sister. And Rose used to be written as a capable superheroine, but a lot of hack writing makes her evil. The Titans have had a lot of a ups and downs over the decades. And some of those downs are... real... yeesh. But when there's a diverse cast of characters that has been around for decades under changing writers, editors, and executives.... things happen. Plot lines get dropped, characters get arbitrarily turned evil, characters suffer for good and bad plots alike, people who don't have a clue what they're doing get handed responsibility for the cast, bold new directions are taken without regard for prior plans, event comics spill over into other books, It's a lot. Not that it can't be done well, and there have been truly magnificent Titans stories, like the Technus Imperative. It's just that the bad stuff makes for good review content.
How the fuck do you get THE Jason Todd to end his own life? The guy who’s mentality was so strong he came back from the lazuras pit and wasn’t fucking crazy
That is why the 2003 Teen Titans show is the prime example of what the Teen Titans are all about, and Dave at a certain point in the Titans show I thought it was good but now it's just an atomic ass.
7:31 Yeah, Jericho’s Powers never made much sense to me. But I chalked it up to the fact that he already had a latent Meta Gene in him. But That’s besides the Power! The Truth is that He’s ALWAYS has these powers, especially during the Silver Age Comic days, it’s only now that we’re starting to see more of him in Modern Adaptations. But yeah, he’s capable of Telepathy and Mental possession. And he’s even had an Evil streak at points. But yeah, that sums up his existence pretty much for all of his comic appearances.
Hawk is the biggest asshole? Not surprising, since he is supposed to be the conservative hero. Honestly a part of me is almost impressed they didn't pull a John Walker with him and fuck it up so badly he became the only sane man on the team.
I remember doing a video talking about the complete wasted potential this show had. Titans has numerous things working against it, whether it's the conflation of the Titans and Teen Titans being the same team (the former being the founding members as adults) the shitty CGI. And the stilted acting and direction. Everyone blends into being effectively the same brooding Dark person, which for characters like Raven CAN work, the issue is because its the norm Raven is just another face in the crowd. Dick and Jason act NOTHING, like they're supposed to, and because I know one person will say this. No, I am not angry that Dick and Jason are "different", my issue is HOW different they are. Dick is supposed to be a witty, charismatic, charming and courageous leader, who despite being 100% human, is the unrivalled leader of the team and successor to Batman. Jason is meant to be a Raphael esc character, a rough exterior, but beneath that he's a good kid who just wants a family to love him, his biological mother leaving him with a criminal for a father and another mother who died of an overdose. But in the show, Dick is just a wannabe Batman try hard with Daddy issues and Jason is a complete emotional train wreck, but without any of the charm of what made Jason compelling. The way they adapted the Trigon and Judas Contract story lines is just so boring, because non of these characters are interesting, so we can’t be engaged in these "emotional events". If ya'll wanna see these adapted correctly, watch either the Teen Titans animated series, read the comics or watch the Teen Titans vs Justice League and Teen Titans: The Judas Contract movies, all of them do this story justice and do so because they have characters with personalities, unique ones that make thm stand out from one another, instead of being NPCs like they are in Titans
Lol i never got into this show and im glad I didn’t but seriously they killed off Aqualad with a gunshot wtf he is Atlantean that bullet should have bounced off of him 🙄

My canon of Deathstroke is mainly from the Wolfman run of Teen Titans and the OG Deathstroke comic. Slade, for all his questionable things was never portrayed as being abusive towards his kids (by that era’s standards). 2/3 of his kids die in his arms (Joseph begged to die because of Raven powers) and he left Rose with his only friend because he would only cause her suffering. Grant is in only a few issues but is the instigating incident for the vendetta. In Titans Hunt/Jericho Gambit he even knew something wasn’t right with Joseph because his new painting weren’t full of colors. I don’t think that’s something an entirely neglectful parent would think like that
Ya wanna know whats funny. In the comics rose is the one member of her family who never stabbed the titans in the back. pulse she tried to kill her father about 3 times in that run alone. they do not like each other
This show could have been somewhat passable if Superboy was AT LEAST Lex Luthor and Superman's mpreg baby, but they took the easy way out and him a test tube critter. FOX and DC have become too "woke".
wait they pulled the slade beef from the comics? i don't remember the details but slade's son died and he had a vendetta against them ever since in one of the comics
I only know who Jericho is because of the animated Teen Titans show. And even still I had zero idea he was Slade’s son until years later because they never acknowledged it at all lmao. He was such a side character that he only showed up a few times.
Jericho was a cool character for a very particular arc in the iconic New Teen Titans from the 80's that it's been rehashed in every TT version. Like Raven's plot, Tera, Beast Boy. It's all Wolvman and he never gets any credit even though he was one of the best doing solid monthly comics. He has some great Superman too.
If Jerico didn't want Deathstroke to kill Robin he should have thrown his consciousness into deathstroke and had him surrender to the authorities. That seems like a much better way of handling the problem instead of throwing yourself on Deathstroke's sword.
I’m a huge fan of DC and this is one of those shows I was really looking forward to and in my opinion it’s the worst DC live action show ever. I actually do like the actors in this show, to me the show is a lot like Mayans MC. Great cast with just some of the worst writing in TV history. Not only that, but by the time you got to the third season, they just started changing the characters to where they weren’t even who they were in the comics anymore. The thing that happens to Hawk in season three, they literally made him dumb enough to fall for that just so that would happen to him. What made me give up on it was I didn’t mind it the first time they did this where Dick Grayson is out on his own and then he realizes he needs the team and then he pulls the team together to accomplish the goal but then he goes and does the exact same thing again. Again, he leaves the team. The team doesn’t want him to go only for him to realize that he needs the team. It felt like by the time you got to the end of season two they had done that plot three times already . Being a fan of DC and a fan of Titans, I wanted to give this one last chance, but by the time we got to what happened to Hawk, I thought OK they’re just doing things for shock value now because they have no clue where they want this show to be and I gave up
Jericho is a meta-human, that is why he has powers. Rose just inherited the serum effects, in comics Jericho got his powers after being almost killed in a hit by Slade's rival Jakal.
Superboy isn't as effected by kryptonite as a half human. In fact I think Superboy is under represented in the comic because they made him stupid over powered since they expanded his powers beyond tactile telekinesis. He ends up with all of Superman's powers plus he's less susceptible to kryptonite, has tactile telekinesis, and isn't weak to magic like Superman is. I think that's probably why they love to kill him off in properties even though it doesn't make sense lol.
Jeez... this is like a mix of The Boys (if bad and taking the comic's tone), 13 Reasons Why and Velma, but with a pinch of Zack Snyderism. I swear that some Comicbook writer, a very controversial one (probably the editor in chief at the time), HATED legacy characters and wanted a show to destroy their credibility so hard that people will in proxy hate the comics that stars them. That is Evil...
I, of course, havent seen video yet, but want to mention that Doom patrol seasone 1 was pretty good, i think i were sent to it by you. Sadly seasone 2, and maybe seasone 3 are much weaker, No spoilers why, but if anyone thinking about watching doom patrol, seasone 1 worth it.
Only thing cool about this show was Hawk and Dove. The dialogue was boring and corny. That blue filter was atrocious and their environments were devoid of background actors except for the episode at the carnival where Donna Troy died because an electric tower collapsed on her.😂 They kept bloating this show with more characters and less story
They kinda did that: in the original trilogy, Lizard was going to be the next villain but that film got canceled so Lizard was the first villain in the reboot.
They couldn't even get Jason stealing the bat tires right into his backstory. This show never stood a chance. But also, just not understanding that Jason entire story with Batman in utrh. Is about taking harder lines, like killing villians, in order to save people in the long run and end the cycle of innocents and bystanders being caught in crossfire. Like he was, like Barbs was. But in this trash fire, they already kill people, that renders the who thing pointless
My favourite part about Titans when I use to watch it was Dick and Jason. About Dick, it had some issue at the start but he grew a bit and there were specefic moments I saw my baby from the comic, but they were few, so I feel particullary bad for Brenton because he is a really good actor, not Great, but good (I've seen him in other things) and has the looks too, but damn some thing they did with him in his writing and directing were questionable. I felt the worst about Garth (Beast Boy) though, I think he was done the dirtiest. I stopped watchin Titans after S2, I think I only saw the first 3 episode of S3 and never went back so idk what had happened since then
The hilarious thing about the plotline about Deathstroke and Jericho is that it's lifted directly from the comics in the most retarded way possible. Jericho was psychic in the comics because he was born with powers before Deathstroke took the serum, but this show seems to treat the serum as relevant to his powers so it makes no sense. Also, Deathstroke wanting to break up but not kill the Titans made sense in the comics because he was fully under Jericho's control at that point AND the Titans were being led by the older members of the group that Jericho knew personally and wanted to protect (albeit in a rather twisted way). Here, Jericho doesn't have any connection to the new Titans and the old Titans are broken up so there's no reason for Deathstroke to try to coerce the Titans in to retiring or for the Jericho subplot to even exist. While we're at it, there's no reason for the Dr Light subplot either because if it was Jericho making Deathstroke do this shit then he would just go after them personally and if the Titans beat Deathstroke he would just jump in to a Titan's body and murder Deathstroke, therefore letting Jericho get revenge against his father AND infiltrate the new Titans. And guess what, that's exactly what Jericho tried to do in the comics.
I completely forgot tgere were more than one season for this show😅 and i know i watched this second season because i vaguly remember the superboy plot line, but aperently this was so nonsensical that my brain just removed it from my memoray

Slade: I'm going to ruin the Titans and make them break up and never fight crime together again, without killing them of course, because they caused the death of my son!
The Titans: You're the bad guy and we're gonna kill you to death cuz we're the heroes!
They never got Raven right. She is supposed to mediate to keep her powers in check. We never see her mediate. She is nothing like her character in the animated series

The show overall just seems mean spirited. Like basically everyone's role is to just be a either a fool or just an ass.
What is the song at the end? It's kind of catchy.
The writers must have read Countdown for inspiration.
Even the ones that had the most blood on their hands.
from what I Can tell you're not a fan of the Snyder films
this show got worst from every season and disrespecting the source material so much that i still don´t want to see the season 4.
Season 4 is absolutely garbage and the worst by far

Glad to see he's still sticking to his roots by placing his avatar in High Guardian Spice
It's kind of a funny idea, the orange soda being a significant relationship detail. Like if you break up, you get a little emotional when you see a glass of Hi-C. It's freaking weird
*Hilarious, you mean, it's so dumb it's funny.
No the explanation is he's a metahuman add superpowers that could be different generation to generation
I'm so glad I never bothered with this show. Why is it so desaturated?
Because it’s EDGY!!
Okay so you talked about how the first episode is basically the season finale of the last season. This happened because of COVID. This wasn’t the writers fault. This is not a defence of Titan’s.
Lol I honestly feel like it's the 1 genuine excuse the show has
To think I actually thought there were stuff in this show worth defending, especially in season three…..
Starfire beats up cops: YAS QUEEN
ROSE beats up cops: YES!!
Robin beats up cops: Did nuthin wrong.
JASON beats up cops: Okay, lbr he should be allowed to, he got done dirty this show.
So people don't know that Jason IS A ANTIHERO, I feel like people don't realize that
The usual Jason Todd experience sadly
So her weakness would be something like the cross? lol
Basically she struggles with her powers getting out of hand.
Shes the most powerful of the Titans if she actually was mad enough she could destroy the planet.
Hence why shes "emo" all the time cuz if she doesnt keep her emotions in check then her powers go nuts.
and she has her demon king/god (cant remember) father trapped inside her who can posses her.
@@johnynoway9127 You are correct, but OP has a point because the show clearly didn't care about adhering to established canon. So they could have made Raven's powers based on darkness and had her weak to light.
Spot on actually. Dr. Light was a problem for her powers in the original show for a bit until her dad started buffing her up for his resurrection
Apparently dr. Light is supposed to be super powerful but got majorly nerfed at some point by making him so dumb he can’t use his abilities well or to their full potential.
So I think if they made Dr. Light as powerful as he should or could be, it would be a decent excuse.

I’m sorry but what?!

Plot lines get dropped, characters get arbitrarily turned evil, characters suffer for good and bad plots alike, people who don't have a clue what they're doing get handed responsibility for the cast, bold new directions are taken without regard for prior plans, event comics spill over into other books,
It's a lot. Not that it can't be done well, and there have been truly magnificent Titans stories, like the Technus Imperative. It's just that the bad stuff makes for good review content.
Krypto redirecting a missile back has gotta be one of the funniest things that I've ever seen a dog do LMAO
This show somehow has the worst iterations and interpretations of every character they use. That's an achievement

Is he conservative? Wasn't he an avatar of chaos?
Lol i never got into this show and im glad I didn’t but seriously they killed off Aqualad with a gunshot wtf he

My canon of Deathstroke is mainly from the Wolfman run of Teen Titans and the OG Deathstroke comic. In Titans Hunt/Jericho Gambit he even knew something wasn’t right with Joseph because his new painting weren’t full of colors.
The Superboy and Starfire plot would’ve been better as the main plots of their own seasons and it makes no sense why they shoved them into one season
This is Zack Snyder Titans. Dark, lots of sex and nudity. Characters that are not anything or smug like the original characters.

My favourite part about Titans when I use to watch it was Dick and Jason.
About Dick, it had some issue at the start but he grew a bit and there were specefic moments I saw my baby from the comic, but they were few, so I feel particullary bad for Brenton because he is a really good actor, not Great, but good (I've seen him in other things) and has the looks too, but damn some thing they did with him in his writing and directing were questionable.

tbf this show was DOA and the flash actually had good seasons
It's plain irony that DC has never been able to capture the same spark that was the Teen Titans 2003 or the DCAMU. Like only Young Justice comes to mind, but even that show struggled.
Why they turn Starfire black? She already had brown skin.Did this show want to tell that latina womens need to be darkek to be actually diverse? Not inclusive in my eyes.

Like you strip down every aspect of the plot to its bare minimum, it's very accurate, but every single thing the writes add on top of that is just so much garbage I'd rather they never took any ideas from the comics at all. It's honestly an insult to Wolfman and Perez
