I actually appreciate what they did with the hands. Open hands: Easily paint the palm and fingers grey around the yellow nails. Closed hands: Just paint the nails Yellow and you’re done!
Is it me or does Bandai seem to have a hard on for the Lupus Rex? I mean they made this the first IBO sdcs kit, they made a Metal robot, they crossed the MG with the 1/100 to make an "mg Barbatos"
Honestly? I feel like the the angry eyes with the pupils is far, far better than the blank ones. It just feels more fierce, and they did a good job at going for minimalist pupils that departs from the cutesy pupils from the green visor. I honestly feel like you could stick those kind of eyes on even the realist of real robot UC designs and it would work.
I picked up the SDCS Zaku 2 and the dark grey CS frame (along with some other simple kits like a 30 minute missions kit so I could build them to cope with stress) back when they were new and one thing I absolutely adore about it is how nice it is to just pick up and fiddle with. It feels more like a figure than a model kit and I just love that about it.
The LED lights you have for the set-up make the angry "Sentient robot" eyes look like Barbatos has the same blind eye as Mikazuki got from overusing the Alaya-Vijnana System; one bloodshot red, one relatively normal.
I saw an add on for sale on ebay (not made by bandai) a while back that gives hgs or 1/100 IBO kits the angry red lightning look Barbatos has at full power that keeps crippling Mika. But yes they should, but it would be p bandai i bet.
But isn't the plastic that you cover the sticker with on barbatos red so just paint the plastic around the eyes black and boom ez red eyes don't even need to put the sticker but it doesn't reflect on the light so might as well put some metalic red on there
You can always paint them. It's an easy part to just coat paint with a brush without worrying about being tidy. Could even use a red gundam marker for that much. Or take some time to figure out how to add some more detail which still wouldn't be that difficult to do.
I feel like the reason the SD head looks better on the 1/144 and 1/100 body is because it makes the proportion more human because if you scale down a gundam to human size, their heads would be tiny so the SD head, especially on a 1/100 makes it look like a guy in a suit instead of a giant robot

I just made a few days ago and love it too. I have Barbatos Lupus (1/100 and 1/144) so buying an HG Lupus Rex was not exiting till I saw this. Now I have most of the Barbatos.
The vent on the face looks like a frowning (or maybe a serious-looking) mouth. I'm never going to unsee that. Regardless, I'm considering buying this kit. :D

I bought it, I was absolutely happy with the CS kit being included, and with the model in general. So I bought two more kits that were branded "SDCS", the unicorn destroy and the earthree. Imagine my disappointment when they DIDNT include the CS frames with them, so now I'm out another 15-ish bucks (australian) to get the same functionality as the barby lupus rex SDCS. It really has nothing to do with the kit. I did have one major problem with it, in that the very flimsy clip that holds the crotch plate on snaps very easily, so I had to cement it back on with extra thin cement. Other than that, the kit is amazing and anyone who was on the fence about SD kits in the past should get one, but it just set me up for disappointment with every other SDCS kit not coming with the CS frame.

Lol I know how you feel about the head size. Every time I use a Barbatos head on some mech in New Gundam Breaker I always put the 1/100 head on all 1/144 parts. It just looks better

Just need a little customised the neck policap or put some nail polish imside female hole to connectimg the neck policap. It works and fit in the sd head on fm 1/100
ummmm are the sd's arms compatible with the hg? if so then we could possibly fix the proportion problem with the hg by giving it the sd's arms and the lupus' hg feet

I have the SDCS RX-78-2 and the parts separation on the head is equally good. Only thing disappointing at the beam sabers (one big white piece) tbh.
