It definitely is worth getting this P-Bandai add on set along with 7x of the MG ASW-G-08 Gundam Barbatos [Form 4] to display all of the forms. I presume we'll get an MG ASW-G-08 Gundam Barbatos Lupus and MG ASW-G-08 Gundam Barbatos Lupus Rex. As to how they're going to be release is either indivdiually, a P-Bandai add on set, or maybe 1 kit release with the options to choose either or. Regardless, I think without a doubt the MG versions is much better than the HG and the 1/100 versions.

but if you look at it, it's not even counted as an official form, so yeah... but if we want to recreate it for a moment, we can print a custom stickers to mask those shoulder temporarily if we want to recreate that pose

I already know the 2nd and 3rd forms use the classic graze shoulder armor and the 3rd had the wireclaw from Gaelio’s Schwalbe, but I’m now just realizing the origins of the other parts...this actually makes me hopeful for potential Master Grades of both Schwalbe Graze and Graze Ritter, and maybe the normal Graze
it is, I finally got mine to hold it securely by refferencing the two poses on the box with the head of the mace down towards the ground and its surprisingly stabel, but that means the range of poses you can do with that weapon without the hands falling apart are incredibly limited.

Thank you for another brilliant review, Mecha!!! I'm not really into the MG kits, but the anime-accurate Barbatos forms you can get from the expansion set are making them very desirable to me!!! I have to agree that the detail on those parts is nicely done, and the waterslides are a cool bonus!!! That Hangar Scene at the beginning...now that was awesome!!! with just a few shots you were able to establish a mood, a vibe...and then nostalgia kicks in (or is it heartbreak?)!!! That weapon though...too bad it can't seem to be held!!! Anyway, the Barbatos looks good with those expansion parts, but I love the chunkier armor and prefer those forms over the sleeker versions!
BIG FAT CAVEAT for anyone planning to get this; The MG Barbatos's shoulders and feet are not disassembly friendly. Like Mecha mentions, the expansion parts manual assumes you are starting a fresh build, but apart from the arms, swapping parts on a finished MG Barbatos is difficult and requires disassembly, which the kit wasn't design around. Part of it has to do with the annoying C-clips they used for the shoulders and feet. B-26 of the inner frame has 2 tabs each on 3 sides that securely hold the shoulder armor. But unlike how Mecha somehow manages, the shoulder armor fits so well & tight once assembled, it is hard & frustrating to disassemble them. What's worse is that B-20, the part B-26 attaches to, uses a reverse hook C-clip. Because the shoulder armor wraps around B-26 and covers this C-clip of B-20, you cannot safely swap the shoulder armor way from the kit, and you are forced to swap it on the standing model. Attempting to disassemble the shoulder armor this way (especially when they fit fairly tight) is a break risk, because the reverse C-clip of B-20 is small, and thus fairly fragile and easily gets damaged. This will make the shoulders floppy and in a worst case scenario, break the hook of B-20 and prevent you from equipping the shoulder armor. The foot is even more disassembly unfriendly at 2 points. The C-clip of C-14 face down and may easily damage if you don't remove C-3 of the front foot carefully. Even worse than the shoulders, C-4 & C-5 (flat feet for 1st form to 5th form space) sandwich over C-3 so tightly, you cannot remove it without great effort and some damage to the plastic. And once you swap it for the high heels, those parts from the expansion set sandwich so well on C-3, it will be nigh impossible to revert it to the flat feet without extra duplicate parts or telekenisis. And while the arms are vastly easier to swap armor for, they still have fairly thin pegs that can easily break off. In short, this kit is not built for swapping parts and any attempt to do so without extreme caution or special tools will end up damaging or breaking parts. You will need multiple MG Barbatos if you want to see all forms. If your plan, like mine, was to get 1 MG Barbatos and swap expansion parts around whenever you feel like, that plan will fly about as well as an original Wright Brothers plane next to a hurricane..

I’ve been waiting for this review!!! So glad to finally see it. I was able to snag two of the expansions since I wanted to try a couple of the forms out myself. Sad that the blue nubs up so easily though. But yeah definitely going to have to pick up a couple more Barbatos’ for sure.
Glad I waited for this review, honestly the sixth form to me looks better in HG than it does in MG (Fight me if you want) and the fact the Chainsaw Mace is more or less useless for posing I'm gonna give this a pass
There will undoubtably be a Lupus and Lupus Rex release but they wouldn't be add ons. Each succession of Barbatos uses a reformatted frame so there wouldn't be any way to just swap out armour.

there is no MG Graze only the NG. So, pretty safe to say not compatible. The NG Barbatos and NG Graze are able to exchange armour from memory tho

Define broken; if it snapped off and you have the broken piece still there, liquid cement usually does the job.

Hey Mecha. Has there been any signs of any parts that are getting loose on the barbatos yet? Or is it just that amazing?
I've had mine for a while and posed it around a lot and there's loose parts yet.
*Fun Fact:*
The claw that Mecha has swapped was the reused parts of the McGillis's *Schwable Graze* with his weapon, *Wire Claw.*

bought a second MG Barbatos and the red chin piece broke while cutting it out. hoping they do a lupus/lupus rex add-on
There will undoubtably be a Lupus and Lupus Rex release but they wouldn't be add ons. Each succession of Barbatos uses a reformatted frame so there wouldn't be any way to just swap out armour.
