the expansion set has revised parts for the elbow joints and shoulder joints to the torso, and the hips so they dont split open whenever posing iirc, greatly improves the kit.
Those parts really redeemed the kit for me. I couldn’t even grab the kits waist withought it basically coming apart before. It’s way too unstable without that lock mechanism.
Maybe model kits have less testing then regular toys but this kit shouldn’t have needed an expansion kit to begin with or at least not one that exclusively came with those fixed frame parts. If the base retail was this bad already why would anyone want to wast money on a P Bandai add on to a bad kit?
I debated buying this kit but ended up getting the hg v2 assault buster and its definitely one of my favorite high grades. Now you made me want the mg to go with it 😭😭
I have the mg v2 ver ka and got the assault buster add on set later. The add on set actually comes with new parts to fix the shoulders, elbow joints and slightly longer hip joints.
one thing i want to add about the add on MG AB kit is that the gold parts are yellow not chromed. I would get the full kit with golden parts for anime accuracy.
I mean, he did said he was going to rework his rating style after he finished doing whatever he was doing at the time (I think he's moving to other place, and sorting things out)
I understand presuming the V2 would be similar to the Victory in construction, but that's not the case even at HG scale, they were both standard 2010s HG when it came down to basics but were different enough that they felt like completely different builds. The funny thing here is that at HG scale I definitely feel the Victory is the far less fiddly kit than the V2, whose wing binders are a royal pain to get lined up more evenly & happens to have incredibly leggy proportions.
V2 VerKa is unironically my favorite kit.I love it. I had to build it a handful of times until I was able to close up the core fighter chest piece the way I wanted it to.
Grabbed the reissue of the V2 Assault Buster and excited to build this! Have known about the engineering issues, so thankfully I’m the type of person who just has his kits for display only mostly haha
Oh god this thing. This was one of my first MG kits and while it didn’t turn me off from gunpla to this day I’ve still never given a victory Gundam kit another chance.
I absolutely ADORE the Victory Gundam suits (not just the heroic ones) and even then you couldn't convince me of getting this MG. I don't mind something being cumbersome but I do hate the idea of buying an articulated figure that can barely hold together. This is the same reason why I love every HGUC of the Zeta Gundam but stay far away from the more intrincated master grades. I love the fact that they transform in the show but I've no need for that feature IRL if that means the kit being flmsy. I do hope that Bandai releases more stuff based on this series in the future.
The Zeta Ver.Ka is (from my experience) solid as a rock, the only thing that pops off constantly is the v-fin which is miles away from the worst thing.
i love SOME of the designs, but lets be honest, they really went the idiot route with alot of them as well. and its the same for their ships, they have some amazing bangers like the squid, but then they have the white ark which looks like its a literal giant toy, almost feels like an insult to the franchise with that massive swinging cannon up front.
@@marcosdheleno All fair opinions. I'm sure there are some bangers and some huge misses but at least they really tried to bring something unique to the table and imo it worked more often than not. Of course, I'm aware it's not a popular series among fans.
I think this kit isn't my favorite (that's the Z ver ka), but it is my biggest love/hate relationship with a kit ever. On the one hand I absolutely love the look of it and I mostly really enjoyed the build (the elbows still care me to this day), but on the other the legs tend to come off of the hips, the gun doesn't like to stay in the hand, and I basically have to treat it like a statue. I think the most puzzling thing about it to me is that there seem to be several things in the kit that are bad for reasons totally unrelated to the transformation. I get the transformation is gonna be rough and severely affect the torso of the kit, that's understandable. But I don't get why the hand parts can't hold the gun properly, or why the elbows had to use such thin and brittle C clips
a million years ago i got 2 V2 assault Buster No grades and mashed them together in what i call the V2 Double Assault Buster. i wanted to "upgrade" to the MG but it feels more like a side grade lol.
According to the dalong review of this kit from way back in the day, the construction on this is significantly more complex (and fiddly) than even the Victory was. I've never built the original Victory Ver Ka so I can't confirm that, but looking at the manuals it does seem like the V1 has significantly less transformation oragami going on than this does
After this backlog series i would really love to see a revisit or re-review of older kits that you have reviewed before. maybe reviews of kits that you hated in the past or kits that has gotten so old u dont even rmb what it was like to build it
i was thinking the same thing, mostly i would like to hear an update on how well they hold up today, specially some of the seed line, since they got alot of praise in their reviews,
A friend gave me a v2 assault buster verka as a gift and I was prepared for the kit because I don't like transforming kits but I had a lot of fun with it. I don't like the red circles so I painted them with a marker.
Victory Gundam is my favorite anime! I recently finished it, and i was amazed by it. Its flawed, yes, but something about it clicked with me, and I love the Late UC as a whole.
gonna be honest here, the victory line is such a disapointment, they went hard on tinny almost unoticeable details, but diferent from most master grades, this one looks like a high grade, unless you really go in looking for those almost hidden details. it already has issues with the size since its for a smaller than average MS. so it also diminishes the MG's impact and make you second guess on that front as well, even if for just a bit.
Sadly this thing shares the fatal flaw of the original, with the poly cap ball joint hips. If pushed on too hard it will force the ball to far up and break them.
The base is the action base 1. action base 2 is the mediocre one with the screws. action base 3 is a weird rectangle one. THEN action base 4 &5 are hexagonal.
It blows my mind that one of the worst Gundam series gets not one, but two Ver Ka MGs. Meanwhile some machines (like the Aries from Wing) never get any kits at all or some series (lik 8th MS team or Stardust Memory) only have really outdated kits.
The RG line has spoiled Gundam Wing and given a little bit of attention to G Gundam recently and Stardust Memory earlier in the line, but none of the other 90s Gundams are anywhere to be found, Universal Century or not.
I really do not like this thing, owing to its non-existent articulation and how fiddly and delicate it feels for the most part. Sacrificed everything for the combining gimmick, and even that's not very good. And yet you're telling me the regular Victory is WORSE? Definitely gotta avoid that thing with a 10-foot pole... Delta Plus is pretty bad too. Super delicate and finicky, can barely hold together, and one wing on mine broke off owing to a weak joint. But at least that one's pretty poseable... well, if you can get it to hold together anyway. Amazing what a downgrade it was from the MG Zeta 2.0.
"Most hated Gundam kit of all time"
*Literally took a knife to the Delta Plus*
the expansion set has revised parts for the elbow joints and shoulder joints to the torso, and the hips so they dont split open whenever posing iirc, greatly improves the kit.
Yes. The elbows no longer disassemble themselves when you move them.
Those parts really redeemed the kit for me. I couldn’t even grab the kits waist withought it basically coming apart before. It’s way too unstable without that lock mechanism.

The MG Assault Buster is definitely a kit worth getting. It's open for pre order from P bandai for $80 if i remember correcdtly.
I have the mg v2 ver ka and got the assault buster add on set later. The add on set actually comes with new parts to fix the shoulders, elbow joints and slightly longer hip joints.
I got the Assault Buster V2 and i haven't built it yet

@@brucewayne3141 Unfortunately P-Bandai isn't available in my region, because otherwise i would have snapped for that immediately.
bruh. Give more Victory Gundam kits a chance
Tomino hates you
Bryson? Is that you?
Yeah! All three of them! 😂
Hoping for a RG Victory that can be actuslly good
It's amusing how many people commented before watching the whole thing
i think you should introduce a gundam hand grenade rating for kits like this from now on
I mean, he did said he was going to rework his rating style after he finished doing whatever he was doing at the time (I think he's moving to other place, and sorting things out)
Looked up a ton of reviews on the Delta Plus and properly fixed every flaw. It goes to be one of my favourite MG's now. Mostly for how it looks
Hey mecha just asking when are you gonna make another custom?
He is more of a reviewer not a customizer. If you want custom go to studio g

I love the MG V2 Gundam, it is way better than the original Victory. The V2 Assult Buster is also fantastic
Yea, I remembered the Assault Buster version addon for this was so fun and gigantic to build. The worst part is TONS of water decals.😅
I just started building this kit this weekend. I usually build before I have to go to work, so usually, it's only the arms or legs until it's done.
Most hated gundam of all time

You can get smooth needle nose pliers that don’t have the ridges. They won’t mar the soft plastic.
Years ago i got into Gunpla but unfortunately EVERY kit i got had parts that broke. So i got into the figures & I've been happy ever since. !!
I know options are individual but I love the 144 kit when I built it for my job....and painted it. Great kit my it being YOU JOY!
if I understand correctly, the V2's wings of light change color between its base form and if you equip the assault and/or buster parts
Oh god this thing. This was one of my first MG kits and while it didn’t turn me off from gunpla to this day I’ve still never given a victory Gundam kit another chance.

Well now I'm def gunna get one
Has anyone ever built a kit without the manual? I did the 1/100 HG Serpent custom. It wasn’t too bad. I can’t imagine doing a MG or RG.
I think this kit isn't my favorite (that's the Z ver ka), but it is my biggest love/hate relationship with a kit ever. I love my HG V2 that I had to get the P-bandai wings of light kit as well. Shame on them for not including it with the Gundam.
a million years ago i got 2 V2 assault Buster No grades and mashed them together in what i call the V2 Double Assault Buster. i wanted to "upgrade" to the MG but it feels more like a side grade lol.
18:25 "There is no screw up here" - except that you can't but the stand on it's own. I think that's a really big screw up from Bandai.
According to the dalong review of this kit from way back in the day, the construction on this is significantly more complex (and fiddly) than even the Victory was.

Both of these kits are ones that I want to try. Personally I wouldn't mind seeing them getting a PG eventually.
My very first kit was the hg V2 assault buster Gundam so the victory will always have a special place in my heart ❤
I got the Assault Buster V2 VerKa early this year and I hate it’s lack of pose ability. Looks great at least
Amazing pacing im loving the daily uploads, but make sure to take care of yourself!
A friend gave me a v2 assault buster verka as a gift and I was prepared for the kit because I don't like transforming kits but I had a lot of fun with it. I don't like the red circles so I painted them with a marker.
Props to the people who actually made this kit as their base model for customization. This thing is horrible to disassemble.
I actually loved the build of the v2. Disassembling and adding the dlc tho...that's a different story
Victory Gundam is my favorite anime! I recently finished it, and i was amazed by it. Its flawed, yes, but something about it clicked with me, and I love the Late UC as a whole.
Next up : V2 Assault Buster .......Hopefully the extra armor makes it more stable and it won't assplode if you look at it wrong
gonna be honest here, the victory line is such a disapointment, they went hard on tinny almost unoticeable details, but diferent from most master grades, this one looks like a high grade, unless you really go in looking for those almost hidden details.

Oh this, the core fighter drove me nuts . Looks nice after so that’s true
Sadly this thing shares the fatal flaw of the original, with the poly cap ball joint hips. If pushed on too hard it will force the ball to far up and break them.
Why am I so engrossed with these videos? I actually look forward to them more than anything else on here.
MECHA! REVIEW THE MG VER KA. SAZABI, AND MY LIFE IS YOURS!!!

Mecha reviewing Victory, that's not something you see everyday

If you have not built The MG ver Ka F91 2.0 i recommend it and i also hated the Victory MG.
I'm surprised there's no RG Victory Gundam series.
The RG line has spoiled Gundam Wing and given a little bit of attention to G Gundam recently and Stardust Memory earlier in the line, but none of the other 90s Gundams are anywhere to be found, Universal Century or not.
give it time. its very close for katoki to run out of models to release his version...
Now go get the PBandai version of it with the Assault Buster
You have to check out pg zaku 2
Wait until you torture yourself with the V2 Assault Buster. lol
Can you reviewing HG Shining Gundam or HG Rebawoo next?
It's a damn shame because Victory Gundam is probably aesthetically my favorite mobile suit under the name of Gundam
I agree with the V2 dash being so clunky and bad
Weird timing I just started this kit a few days ago lol

MG V2 > V.
for me this kit only con is it upper arm i wish it go deeper
