Still hoping to see a master or real gusion rebake full city, barbaros lupus rex, graze, and honestly just any others from IBO aside from the suits of S2’s antagonists.
I made a customized Gundam Astaroth using the Astaroth's frame, head, and feet, along with the Bael's armor and an articulated tail with a bladed tip. I gave it a white and red color scheme to make it resemble a bloody demon, and called it the Astaroth Diablo. Still holds up pretty well, although the joint inside the chest armor's gotten loose and I can't open the chest up to tighten it since the armor's been superglued on.
Just wondering, but what do you guys think of the chances of getting any real grade ibo kits? I'll Definitely be buying those if they ever do come out. Especially the lupus rex and hajiroboshi
I'm glad I'm not the only one scared of even existing next to some of my old RGs! My RG Aile Strike took a nose dive off my bookcase earlier this year, so he's been confined to the box of never-to-be-displayed-kits for eternity. The RG Force Impulse and Nu Gundam, though? Solid. As. A. Rock.
In fact, my 1/100 Full Mechanics Barbatos Lupus Rex, that held together so long, took one fall and burst the other week. He is also now buried with his brethren.
I used 2 Astaroth Rinascimento and 1 Vidar to make a new custom kit 3 years ago and I'm really proud of it. It's an total awesome kit since their part are designed by a same mechanical designer in real life
Ibo is my favourite series by far. It’s just unique from the other series and that you really don’t know if someone is gonna die or live, the designs and style of combat that this line of mobile suits have just great. (Plus I don’t really like beam weapons) I haven’t got any kits but I’ve asked for my favourite mobile suits for Christmas
Custom gundam frame: rebake full city legs, 1st form barbatos toes, flauros heels,5th form barbatos chest, lupus rex arms and hands, rebake rear hover unit, lupus rex backpack with weapon set flauros cannons , lupus rex mace, form 4 barb round shoulders, vidar pistols and swords, weapon set barb lupus cannon, 1st form barb head, all in g3 or rx 78 1 colors.
I have a project, i'm trying to ddo a Gn archer but as an IBO kit, I decided using the grimgerde as the base, Astaroth origin's wings, an maybe another parts from here and there, like some trhusters you reviewed before and some guns that actually came with some arms (dont remember the name of those) and loading it with some good IBO weapons on the trhusters section, making it still transformable
Painting better do something about the infamous wobble. I just have to get around to said painting. Edit: Speaking of IBO customs, for the to-be-project, I'm using a modded Bael chest, arms, and legs, as well as some skirt parts, with the Dantalion frame and shoulders, the Astaroth Origin head with a modded Vidar v-fin to make some sort of halo, Vidar backskirt, and RG Wint Zero Custom backpack and wings to make one angel boi.
I would call mine the Paimon it would have danatalions arms, the flouros chest, i would also use beals back pack, the barbatos lupus legs, and use the graize ein head, and make a make shift cape for it just because badass cape
I’ve got half a dozen IBO HGs, like the Vidar, Bael, Vual, Kimaris, etc. Had em about 4 years now and so far, they have held together nicely, no complaints!
I actually did this for a competition and I still have my main one intact and painted/damaged to look very damaged/worn. My Astaroth Venator is one of my favorite builds i have ever done. I used both astaroths and the Barbados lupus for the shoulders. The red and white came out beautiffully.
I technically made a custom without even trying. I bought two kids of Gundam vual for the sake of symmetry. And the remaining parts I used to make an all-black astaroth which I have dubbed the astaroth Nacht. This is definitely been there before but I still the idea.
I've tried to make a graze custom. That was 2 years ago. I really need to finish that thing lmao. It's already half painted but I just never finished it.
I just wish there was more Master grades to the iron blooded orphans it didn't get much love I feel how sad. I love your channel and I love what you do I just started building gunpla and I love it thanks for all your hard work
I wouldn't say that's the only thing. I got a barbatos lupus recently with the blue logo and it definitely is a bit loose out of the box. Especially at the waist.
I found one in a random store. I got it cuz I like mechs and wanted to look how they looked. To help me to learn to draw mechs better. Pretty good, but yep pretty loose when I pose.
I backordered an HG Gundam Barbatos Lupus over two months ago from Hobbylink Japan and he was finally ready for shipping almost two weeks ago. I got worried when I saw this video because I wanted to know if all that waiting would be worth it in the end. Thankfully, it looks like it might be.
Amazing Gundam Astaroth Rinascimento. A symmetrical version of the Gundam Astaroth combining all 4 kits into one (Original, Origin, Rinascimentto, and Vual).
I bought the Barbatos, Lupus, and Lupus Rex all at the same time and built them all at around the same time (a couple months ago I think - maybe last year?). I noticed that the Lupus and Barbatos were solid, but the Lupus Rex was VERY loose out of the box.
I built the HG Gundam Barbatos 4th form and the IBO Gundam frame is loose. I just have it doing the pose on the box and on my shelf in the front corner.
I have this IBO custom kit idea for quite a long time and it's like a final variant of the Kimaris line. It uses the Kimaris Vidar head, shoulder and arms, skirt armors, Kimaris Chest, Kimaris trooper legs but with the Kimaris feet on as for the back pack It'll be a mix of the Kimaris backpack from the IBO option set 4 with the Kimaris Vidar's shield backpacks attached. As for the weapons the purple sword from the IBO option set 4. My idea is to make one final Kimaris Variant for Gaelio when he becomes the head of the Bauduin family.
Buy the expansion parts too it will be cool tho u can get orga there hehe if u got lucky since its so easy to stock out, i got bought that i think i will recieved this by tomorrow and k have a reason why i want to buy the expansion cause of the 6th form that form is so bad ass
Two years since this came out, I've recently built the Barbatos Lupus, it's held up pretty well for the last couple months despite being reposed and slightly played with many times. The Barbatauros really hasn't held up well, the Bael is great save for its swords sliding out of the hand, and the asmodeus is by far my favorite ibo high grade
I’ve been trying to collect mostly Gundam Frames, and I can say that most of them are holding nicely, with some loose joints that aren’t too much of an issue at the moment. The only one that straight up died on me was the Kimaris Vidar, but I’m not complaining, cuz... well, I don’t like that one.
I know I'm coming at this from a 2023 perspective, but I can't help but feel a bit spoiled by the direction that we're moving in with Witch from Mercury. It makes some of the issues with these high grade kits stand out more, and as a whole makes me question why the color separation was so bad on some of these. You talk about how low the part-count was on some of these runners, and while I do love the consistent inclusion of inner-frames, I think parts reduction is only beneficial if you're still nailing the color accuracy alongside it. It's sad that entry grades beat most of these out in that regard. While the plastic-on-plastic joints haven't given me a lot of trouble personally, there are places on these kits where polycaps just should not have been used. The use of a ball and socket for the torso connection to the waist just feels like a big mistake in hindsight that ruins the stability. The big takeaway for me is that outside of grunt suits, the best way to get IBO kits that really shine is to go with Master Grade or 1/100 scale Barbatos (just not HiRM). I'd be interested to see what a real grade IBO kit would even look like, but for now my hope is just that we get another master grade in the future.
My ibo kits hold up just fine. It even feels like their joints got stronger over time. Same goes for my RGs. Never posed them though. I put them on a shelf the moment they're completed.
Only issue I've had is their lower back area where the torso meets the waist, it just can't hold up any sort of wings or larger backpacks. However that can just be solved with a stand so its not a deal breaker, hell IBO is one of my favorite Gundum lines>
Next i'll try to make an actual IBO core gundam, using a lupus as base, balldum arm arms as extenders and inner frame but still have some problems for waist and feet
@@ChrisTian-sd5yq I saw some pictures of the full crowl model, but i'm sure they haven't reléase it too, but well, imma still doin the barbatos core gundam, maybe i'll use grimgerde's feet but still looking for a waist unit to use
@Mecha Gaikotsu I would love to see a review for the 1/100 Full Mechanics Graze (any variant), I was thinking about getting a few for my MG Gundam Barbatos to beat up. Keep up the amazing videos, they are super informative and help me decide which kits I should or shouldn't pick up. :)
All my ibo kits are from post 2019 as that's when I got into gunpla and even my first kit hasn't loosened too badly and even the one I built after just glueing the torso has helped them hold up even better I've actually had more loosness issues out the box that after fixed have remained pretty tight so it is possible they changed the materials I recently got p Bandai ibo kits do after I build those and see how they hold up I will have a better idea so see ya in a couple years
I have found that the Astaroth kits to all be a bit loose. Particularly the shoulders and waist. That seems to be the real trouble areas for this line, especially with the gundam frames. The larger the extremities, the worse it is. The polycaps just struggle. It is still my favourite line and the first I got my teeth into. Star kits include: 1, Grimgerde 2, Barbatos Lupus 3, Vidar (though that backpack...) 4, Bael. These have all held up well, though I think I got lucky with the Bael.
The Graze Kai is probably one of my favorite HG kits... and even though it might not have a lot of individual articulation, all together it doesn't do too bad honestly. It can fit in some good poses. Also you forgot to mention that the wrist armor can twist! Allows for more angles the Graze can hold the rifle
From the kit boxes you showed us, I’d say you should build something like this: Head: Dantalion Torso: Hajiroboshi Shoulder: Astaroth Origin Arms: Barbatos 4th Waist: Hajiroboshi Side skirt: Graze custom Back: Graze custom Thighs: Barbatos 4th Legs: Hajiroboshi Feet: Dantalion Rifle: Astaroth Origin, or Hajiroboshi Melee: Helmwige Reincar + Graze custom As for something I’d personally would like to see: Head: Astaroth Origin Torso: Kimaris Vidar Shoulder: Vual (symmetrically right parts only, the one with the shield) Arms: Bael Waist: Barbatos Side skirt: Kimaris Trooper Thighs: Barbatos Lupus Legs: Marchosias Feet: Barbatos Lupus Rifle+Melee: Dantalion Would love to see how it turns out, especially your custom. Cheers.
I think whether the kit holds up depends greatly on the polycaps. I bought an Astaroth an a Vidar at the same time, and Astaroth has loosened up quite a bit while Vidar is still rock solid
let me first say that the IBO line of kits are probably the one of the better places for a beginner to start, they are easy to assemble, with good panel lining opportunity's, and great customizability /compatablility with each other. the only problem ifor me with them is the loose policaps as most of my IBO kits seem to have a loose joint or 5. i found personally that giving the policaps a bit of heat with a heat gun helped to reset them back to being tight. probably not the best idea as you gotta be carful not to use to much heat or to long with heat as it will ruin the caps, . also for one of my kits, the ast origin , i went and replaced the peg that connects the torso to the hips with a much thicker and longer big peg to remove the policap ball joint , it lost some articulation but doesn't come detached as easily
I have a REISSUED Astaroth Origin and OLD Rinascimento. The origin (reissue) just moved one tiny bout a millimeter from prosition when I lifted them from the leg but still held it's position. I built that guy from around 2 years ago. Had the backpack off though. The rinascimento on the other hand... surprisingly still holds up actually. I lifted it the same way like the origin and the graze in your video, from the leg, and while it did bend, it was only for a bit and was very slow in doing so. Plus it had a ton of accessories slapped to it so i guessed it was thanks to that it bent more than the origin. In conclusion these still hold up pretty well. The only reason I do not recommend the older ones with red bandai logo is that the plastic there might be inferior compared to the reissues. BTW, thanks for fulfilling the wishes of your many fans of making a Mecha Gaikotsu-inspired Dantalion. We've been waiting.
Built a gundam bael earlier this year. It's already falling apart. Built a regenlaze when I was 16 or 17. I'm 21 now. It looks ugly as hell cause I had no idea what I was doing. I litterally had it in storage for 2 years via throwing it loose into a box full of heavy objects. I broke one of it's arm pieces. All that said, the joints aren't bad on it. It's just a super cluttered kit which is pretty annoying. I like the look for an anime, but I don't want to retry that thing.
I love the IBO especially since I stick to HGs (they are the perfect size imo). They really evolved the line with IBO coming from most 00. And even the option sets were a great idea in addition to the ability to swap parts.
If i were to use those models for a custom: -Dantalion upper body and BIG ARMS -Reincar's Sword -Kimaris Vidar lower body (those legs are cool) -Astaroth origin's head and shotgun -kimaris vidar articulated shields
Mine's a custom painted Astaroth Origin. I painted the frame on the runners and then sanded the nubs after, resulting in an authentic weathering. Swaped the shoulders for the Barabatos 4th, and ditched the backpack.
Fun Fact: Before the reissue, Bandai used to print the boxes with the pilots face on the boxes. Kinda wish they kept that feature

9:32 Here's a nice tip, With this you can make a double-rifle Gusion Rebake because they are fitted with extra-graze arms on it's backpack. Fun Fact: Graze Kai is also Akihiro's mobile suit.
Anyone that has the 1/100 heads up on the gundam frame is the waist can break how the MG Freedom 2.0 can just to let you know
Figured it out the hard way...
are you talking about the mg or just the old 1/100
Mg?
Lol just don't man handle it and you'll be fine. The freedom 2.0 is absolutely amazing
Dr. PhilMyCrackin me too
I love IBO and the Lupus was my first kit but I did it no justice. These kits are truly a masterpiece
It's an total awesome kit since their part are designed by a same mechanical designer in real life
5:37 Super-fast-build-mode Gunpla Edition
I hope you get around to making all of these customs. We've been waiting for years.
Bro send a pic when done that sounds cool 😎
7 years ago, I don't even know what gunpla is.. and now i'm stuck watching every review with intention to buy all of it.. damn yu bandai
I would call mine the Paimon it would have danatalions arms, the flouros chest, i would also use beals back pack, the barbatos lupus legs, and use the graize ein head, and make a make shift cape for it just because badass cape

Super Fast Build Mode engage!
(I'll be chuffed to bits if you get the reference)
Immediate recognition!
I am now chuffed to bits
If you want to customize the IBO kits you need that attack on titan style burst saber from vidar
Oh my gods. Is that timelapse music... Howling? *GoodtimeswithScar vibes*
Super fast build mode!

Loving that 80s tune. Keep it up 👍.
I bought a 1/100 barabartos, that thing is a tragedy, I will nvr recommend any1 that monstrosetiy.
@@NekRulez that's precisely why I waited for there to be a master grade of Barbatos
@@thelorebrarian2266 I didn't know at the time, I just thought, oh nice, me want...
@@NekRulez my FM barbatos lupus rex is QWOP character now. cant stand at all.
I just wish there was more Master grades to the iron blooded orphans it didn't get much love I feel how sad. I love your channel and I love what you do I just started building gunpla and I love it thanks for all your hard work
The best way to tell if your ibo kit has better polycaps and joints is if you see a blue ban dai logo
I wouldn't say that's the only thing. I got a barbatos lupus recently with the blue logo and it definitely is a bit loose out of the box. Especially at the waist.
also got a kimaris vidar before that and was really surprised by how sturdy it was so it seems to still be a bit random.
whatever your customization will be, I want to see it holding two of the Barbatos' katanas
I really really like the katana
I think a Graze Frame with the parts of a Gundam would be jnteresting, fits with how IBO has a lot of cobbled together suits
I found one in a random store. I got it cuz I like mechs and wanted to look how they looked. To help me to learn to draw mechs better.
Pretty good, but yep pretty loose when I pose.
Imagine an rg barbatos. 🤤🤤 I really hope they do that
Same
I mean the pistons might be very easy to snap unless bandai starts making metal ones
That’s basically the hg
I backordered an HG Gundam Barbatos Lupus over two months ago from Hobbylink Japan and he was finally ready for shipping almost two weeks ago. I got worried when I saw this video because I wanted to know if all that waiting would be worth it in the end. Thankfully, it looks like it might be.
Amazing Gundam Astaroth Rinascimento. A symmetrical version of the Gundam Astaroth combining all 4 kits into one (Original, Origin, Rinascimentto, and Vual).
Love your vids just watching vidar review
I'm actually watching IBO right now. On like episode 12 or so. Also getting the MG Barbatos
Same my lupus is just like a god of polycaps
Only issue I've had is their lower back area where the torso meets the waist, it just can't hold up any sort of wings or larger backpacks. However that can just be solved with a stand so its not a deal breaker, hell IBO is one of my favorite Gundum lines>
I am wondering if you made a video of your custom IBO kit. If, so where do I find it?
I picked up a HG Barbatos Lupus as my first kit last month and I absolutely love it! It's perfect.
Next i'll try to make an actual IBO core gundam, using a lupus as base, balldum arm arms as extenders and inner frame but still have some problems for waist and feet
Just get hg dantallion
@@ChrisTian-sd5yq i'm looking for that, but I actually want to build the full crowl versión, but I couldn't find the legs here on Chile
@@aserfuller377 They don't release b pack as far as I know
@@ChrisTian-sd5yq I saw some pictures of the full crowl model, but i'm sure they haven't reléase it too, but well, imma still doin the barbatos core gundam, maybe i'll use grimgerde's feet but still looking for a waist unit to use
All my ibo kits are from post 2019 as that's when I got into gunpla and even my first kit hasn't loosened too badly and even the one I built after just glueing the torso has helped them hold up even better I've actually had more loosness issues out the box that after fixed have remained pretty tight so it is possible they changed the materials I recently got p Bandai ibo kits do after I build those and see how they hold up I will have a better idea so see ya in a couple years
Aaahhhh the first ever gundam kit I built was the the Barbatos lupus... And because of your review might I add. Brings make memories
For me gundam barbatos lupus rex is one of most beautiful gundam, n it is my favorite, even more after watching the mc gone berserk using this Gundam.
These iron blooded orphans kits are awesome. I just love the design of all the machines in the series
My HG Grimgerd hasn’t degraded at all suprisingly😂
Also for some reason my astaroth got tighter
I'd kill for them to release the Graze or any of these kits again. I want them so bad and can't find them in stock anywhere for their MSRP
@@imsilverahuman4108 In the US its a bit harder. We don't have many hobby shops as is where I live and their stock is highly limited
Star kits include:
1, Grimgerde
2, Barbatos Lupus
3, Vidar (though that backpack...)
4, Bael.
This video actually made me go back and tighten up a few of my built IBO HGs, still love 'em to death though!
From the kit boxes you showed us, I’d say you should build something like this:
Head: Dantalion
Torso: Hajiroboshi
Shoulder: Astaroth Origin
Arms: Barbatos 4th
Waist: Hajiroboshi
Side skirt: Graze custom
Back: Graze custom
Thighs: Barbatos 4th
Legs: Hajiroboshi
Feet: Dantalion
Rifle: Astaroth Origin, or Hajiroboshi
Melee: Helmwige Reincar + Graze custom
As for something I’d personally would like to see:
Head: Astaroth Origin
Torso: Kimaris Vidar
Shoulder: Vual (symmetrically right parts only, the one with the shield)
Arms: Bael
Waist: Barbatos
Side skirt: Kimaris Trooper
Thighs: Barbatos Lupus
Legs: Marchosias
Feet: Barbatos Lupus
Rifle+Melee: Dantalion
Would love to see how it turns out, especially your custom. Cheers.
I've had my HG Rouei standing stable on my shelf for three years in the same pose.
On one leg.
Granted its a wall mounted shelf, but still impressive.
I wonder if IBO is still your favorite HG line or it is now TWFM.
Let's hop into... *Super fast build mode*
I think whether the kit holds up depends greatly on the polycaps. I bought an Astaroth an a Vidar at the same time, and Astaroth has loosened up quite a bit while Vidar is still rock solid
Mine would be a dark reflection of Beal, Lupus, and Vidar and would be called Arc Gundam, or Gundam Ire
let me first say that the IBO line of kits are probably the one of the better places for a beginner to start, they are easy to assemble, with good panel lining opportunity's, and great customizability /compatablility with each other. the only problem ifor me with them is the loose policaps as most of my IBO kits seem to have a loose joint or 5. i found personally that giving the policaps a bit of heat with a heat gun helped to reset them back to being tight. probably not the best idea as you gotta be carful not to use to much heat or to long with heat as it will ruin the caps, . also for one of my kits, the ast origin , i went and replaced the peg that connects the torso to the hips with a much thicker and longer big peg to remove the policap ball joint , it lost some articulation but doesn't come detached as easily
My new Barbatos has a weird front skirt- but it's pretty good!
Seriously, these build montages are great
Also,my Grazes are pretty solid, especially on the legs. Really tigh knees.
Thank you for thiss, as usual amazing videoo!
Just you guys wait till we get more MG kits and a PG barbatos
Love the IBO Kits! I have the full cast of S1 and S2!
Is there a review with this specific variant of hg barbatos lupus? 2:44
I found the model. Its a hg gundam barbatos lupus twin mace/200 mm cannon
If i were to use those models for a custom:
-Dantalion upper body and BIG ARMS
-Reincar's Sword
-Kimaris Vidar lower body (those legs are cool)
-Astaroth origin's head and shotgun
-kimaris vidar articulated shields
Mine's a custom painted Astaroth Origin. I painted the frame on the runners and then sanded the nubs after, resulting in an authentic weathering. Swaped the shoulders for the Barabatos 4th, and ditched the backpack.
